The Six

Summary:

What if HG was part of the Six?
Basically, I watched Sanctuary right after watching Warehouse 13 and this is what happened.

“There was a group of us, the Six, we were all scientists, wanting to keep anything that was considered as ‘different’ safe. Of course, a lot of our ideas were insane, crazy and laughed at.” HG added.

“The six? Who does that involve?” Myka looked at Helen and HG who shared a look.

“Nikola Tesla, James Watson, Helen Magnus, John Druitt, myself and Nigel Griffin.” HG confirmed.

Myka blinked rapidly before continuing to eat, Helen sitting down behind her desk, handing it over to HG to continue to explain.

“We studied in Oxford, Adam tried to join the group several times but proved untrustworthy, so we unanimously decided not to include him. Our group had been running tests and experiments, wanting to see what humanity could become, Helen had managed to get her hands on some pure ancient vampire blood, and we’d all be intrigued to see what it would do if it were mixed with human dna. So, each of us had some injected into us.” HG looked at Helen.

Chapter 1: I get by with a little help from my friends

Chapter Text

It had been a while since any of them had even been in contact with one another, each of them deciding that it would be the best for humanity as well as the future of each of them, so they’d separated and gone down different paths.

Then again it was easy for HG not to miss people, especially if she had little care for them in the first place, though it was different for some people, of course there were few people that knew who she really was, Myka being one of them, the smart and young warehouse agent who had a mind that thoroughly intrigued the inventor.

They’d been in an odd flirtationship then had become friends and then of course they’d become more, Artie had taken a little more getting used to it than anyone else, Claudia liked that they’d become closer, personally hating it whenever HG wasn’t around because it meant that they had to deal with a very sad Myka and no one wanted that.

HG had gotten used to working with the warehouse team, almost to the point of forgetting that she’d been part of something bigger before, she was an inventor with ideas that would make Einstein lose his mind, but she was more than just an inventor.

Waking up beside the taller woman, HG pressed a kiss to her temple, Myka knowing that the older woman had terrible insomnia and often found it hard to sleep, usually finding the older woman reading in bed or looking at blueprints or typing on a laptop.

This time, however, HG found herself in the kitchen of the cabin she owed that Myka occasionally stayed over in when she’d had enough of the warehouse and artifact retrievals, she made herself a mug of tea and sat in the living room that was connected to the kitchen.

Receiving a message from an unknown number saying they needed her help.

She took another sip and looked at the message as if she were looking at an encrypted code that she had to break despite fully understanding what it meant.

Before she could register anything else, Myka sauntered through the cabin, currently only wearing a robe smirking at HG who remained on the couch in cargos and a plaid shirt, though she knew that HG wouldn’t mind if she walked around naked.

“Hi baby.” Myka smiled before she wrapped her arms around HG’s shoulders, nuzzling the dark hair sticking out in every direction.

“Hi darling.” HG placed a hand over both of Myka’s sitting on her chest.

“There anymore of that tea?” Myka mumbled into HG’s ear.

Smirking and kissing Myka’s hand. “Mmm, plenty.”

Tilting her head, Myka leaned closer to kiss HG, a kiss too deep for someone who’d just woken up with the intention of simply grabbing a drink, the former secret service agent was awake for reason, her brain was stimulated. But HG would never complain, kissing Myka was one of her favorite things, second to holding the woman’s hand.

Pulling away, much to both of their disappointment, Myka grabbed a mug from the cupboard and poured herself some of the tea that HG had brewed.

Her phone buzzing to break the comfortable silence and Myka pressing a few buttons before HG wrapped her arms around Myka from behind, pressing her face into the taller woman’s neck causing Myka to giggle and squeal.

HG smiling at the happy sounds before kissing down Myka’s neck causing the curly haired woman to turn the giggles and squeals into moans.

“Mmmm baby.” Myka closed her eyes as she tilted her neck to give HG more room to work with.

“Am I distracting you, darling?” HG didn’t let up on the neck kissing though.

“Mmm, if you keep going maybe I could get a couple emails sent and Artie’s inventory list for the month would be done.” Myka teased.

HG chuckled as she continued to kiss the smooth stretch of skin belonging to Myka a few of the marks she’d left the other day were fading from their previous reddish purple to now a greenish yellow.

Looking down at her phone again and seeing a strand of messages from Artie and the gang about another artifact.

“Ugh, as much as I would love for you to…uhnnnnn…keep going, I have to go to the Warehouse. There’s another….. oh baby, that’s good….. artifact.” Myka moaned out a little as HG kept kissing and sucking at her neck.

“Of course, darling, I won’t keep you.” HG slowly backed up but Myka turned around and leaned against the kitchen counter.

“And what if I wish you would?” Myka challenged.

HG smirked before pecking Myka once more. “Go and find your artifact. The cabin will still be here when you get back.”

“And what about you? Will you still be here?”

“We’re a package deal, darling.” HG chuckled and sat down on the couch.

Myka shook her head. “No, you and me, that’s the package deal.”

“Yes, of course, quite right.”

Myka kissed her once more before walking back into the bedroom and getting herself dressed, HG pouting as she watched the Warehouse agent getting her clothes on.

“It’s almost unfair really. I rather enjoy getting you out of your clothes.” HG crossed her arms.

“Mmm, later.” Myka winked before picking up her keys. “What will you be doing whilst I’m gone?”

HG stood up and walked over to the door to wave Myka off. “I’ll find something. I usually do.”

Nodding, Myka accepted the answer, smiling as HG kissed her cheek before letting her go, watching as the agent got into the car and reversed out the driveway.

*********************

HG had been working on some blueprints, knowing that the person who apparently needed her help would reach out again with further information if they truly did need her.

Myka had been running around relentlessly trying to get their latest artifact, she was covered in dirt and goo, several layers of each, she wanted a bath and she wanted HG to wrap her in her arms and snuggle so she could sleep.

That’s when HG smelt it. Running outside, her shirt half buttoned, Myka stepping out the car and slamming the door shut, her hand already on HG’s chest to halt her.

“Baby, calm down, I’m sorry about the smell.” Myka knew that HG could get a little sensitive if Myka came home smelling of anything but herself. “I’ll go and shower.”

“I’m sorry, darling, I can’t help it, which I know is no excuse but…” HG tried to apologize but Myka interrupted her by kissing her.

“Don’t apologize for being protective or slightly possessive. You know I like it.” Myka smiled before heading inside the cabin to shower, already wanting to be free of this day hours ago.

HG gulped before blinking rapidly and following Myka inside the cabin, putting a load of laundry on with Myka’s gooed up clothing mixed in.

“Are you alright, darling?” HG questioned with a slight head tilt that Myka thought was adorable every time she did so.

Smirking, Myka placed a finger under the older woman’s chin, tilting her head up before claiming her lips with her own, smiling as she felt HG slide her tongue past her lips.

“Better now.” Myka winked before stepping in the shower and letting the hot water wash the torrid day away.

Walking out of the bathroom, HG made a pot of tea, taking another look at her blueprints and an invention she’d been working on for the warehouse to use.

She hadn’t even realized the shower had stopped or that Myka was out of the bathroom until she felt arms wrapping around her shoulders.

“Smell better to you now?” Myka teased as she offered HG a wiff by stretched her neck slightly.

HG exhaled slowly, a little irritated that she was so ‘possessive’ as Myka had called her, but she turned to inhale at the crook of Myka’s neck, feeling Myka tilt her head a little more and inhale at the feeling as well as move closer to HG.

“I’m sorry that I get so…overprotective and possessive, I know it’s annoying.” HG tried to apologize once more but Myka placed a finger on HG’s lips.

“I already said ‘don’t apologize’, HG. I know it’s a…thing and an important one for you. I like it.” Myka smiled before moving in between HG and the inventor’s dining table.

“Myka…” HG started but genuinely didn’t know what to say.

“Shhhh.” Myka whispered, wrapping her arms around HG’s neck, the older woman taking in a deep breath as she came to stand in between the agent's legs.

The inventors hands coming either side of the taller woman and on the desk, causing their hips to collide and Myka to moan out a little at the feeling.

“Take me to bed.” Myka half ordered and half moaned out, letting out a giggle and a squeal of excitement as she felt HG’s hands slide under her thighs and lift her up, wrapping her legs around the older woman’s waist.

“Yes ma’am.” HG followed Myka’s order and carried her to the bedroom.

**********************

Kicking the door shut with her foot, HG continued the journey to the bed, laying Myka down on the mattress. The younger woman smirking up at HG who began kissing up and down the agent’s neck, Myka already reaching up to undo several buttons on HG’s shirt before there was a sound coming from outside, HG immediately lifting her head up like her ears were antennas in search of the sound.

Myka looking up at her before the window, knowing that HG’s hearing was better than the average human, able to pick up on sounds from miles away, her hand coming to rest on HG’s jaw.

“What is it, what did you hear?” Myka looked at the window where the inventor’s head was still glued.

”Footsteps and a car.” HG responded.

Myka sat up a little as HG went to go and see what the noise was all about, the cabin was a safe haven for both of them, meaning next to no one knew about the place, which is how HG intended to keep it.

Heading out the door of the cabin, forgetting about her shirt that was half buttoned, thanks to Myka, the younger woman also following her out the door, tesla in hand, HG searched for what the noise might have been, seeing footprints and a car, the door swinging open and a woman stepped out of the car.

“Magnus.” HG blinked in surprise before running a hand through her short dark messy strands.

“Nice to see you, HG.” Helen Magnus stood before the two of them.

The car behind her, an old one, something that Myka could instantly tell was from HG’s time, but the two women looked at each other before HG turned slightly to place a hand on Myka’s shoulder, nodding to show that she could put the tesla away.

“It’s alright, Myka. This is Helen Magnus, head of the Sanctuary network, what are you doing here?” HG tilted her head in that way that Myka thought was adorable.

“I did say I needed your help. You never answered.”

“Forgive me if they were a little cryptic.”

Helen placed her hands in her pockets. “Yes well, we both know very well that when it comes to certain things in the world, we can’t afford to be on the nose.”

HG exhaled slowly before gesturing for everyone to head back inside the cabin. “Well, if you sent a message and then trekked the way here it must be important. So what’s going on?”

The other Brit sat down on the couch, Myka blinking as she sat down on the one opposite, HG standing behind the couch that Myka was sitting on, waiting for someone to clue her in, Helen felt familiar, a little like HG, brunette and British, Myka was considering that she was a magnet for them.

”Someone used your Time Machine and now…things may be in even greater danger than they were previously, someone I care about may be affected and I’ve run out of people to ask for help.” Helen rapidly and briefly explained.

HG nodded as she took in the information, considering her options, Myka blinked before she leaned back on the couch, the inventor knowing that this would probably be a lot of information for the younger woman to take in.

”So someone used my Time Machine, went back in time to attempt to alter things and you’re coming to me for my help because?”

”No one knows time travel the way you do, no one knows your machine the way you do and to be quite honest, I’ve exhausted all other avenues.”

”Ah and on top of everything, I am your last choice.” HG shook her head and boiled the kettle.

“You made it quite clear your stance on being contacted by any of us.” Helen challenged.

Widening her eyes in shock, HG changed her stance. “We agreed long ago that the only time we would get in contact was under circumstances that fit a certain criteria. Do you forget the things we were instructed to do? The people we hurt? The things we did….that I did?” HG clenched her fists and took a deep breath.

”Of course not, you know better than anyone that we don’t forget, we try to move on and make up for what we did, but we never forget and I know that no one went through worse than you…..but that’s why I’m here now, because I don't have another choice.”

HG took a moment to think, it had been a while since she’d had anything to do with the Sanctuary network, years since they’d all participated in their ‘extracurricular activities’ and now Helen was in her house asking for her help and…

”It’s okay.” Myka turned slightly to place a hand on top of the inventors, rubbing a thumb over the rough calloused knuckles, trying to offer comfort. “If they need you, you should go.”

HG tilted her head, not in the adorable way that Myka always smiled at but in the way that the agent knew HG was overthinking everything and was reluctant to leave her, the inventor looking between Myka and Helen.

Taking a deep breath and crossing her arms, HG knew there was a lot of thought that had to go into this and that most likely Helen had given it extra thought too, nodding slowly the inventor rubbed the bridge of her nose.

“I’m so going to regret this.” HG shook her head. “How can I help?”

Helen smiled before taking something out of her bag and placing it on the table, HG blinked when she saw what it was, Myka taking the file and reading it a little as the inventor moved from her place behind the couch to almost in front of Myka.

“You’re telling me Worth has something to do with this?”

Helen nodded with a shaky exhale. “Yes, I know what it looks like. Worth stole the blueprints and instructions, took off in the Time Machine because he wants to…..”

”Save his daughter that he still blames you for.” HG finished off the sentence.

Helen nodded in confirmation. Adam and his daughter had been one of the many things that caused HG to lose touch with the Sanctuary, HG had felt his pain, had known that the loss of a child is one you never recovered from and it felt like a betrayal, but now Adam was trying to change that and in turn that meant possibly changing the entire course of history and HG knew how dangerous that was.

”If I’m going to do this, I have conditions and I need….”

”Your lab. It’s already set for you. As for the conditions?”

”You don’t tell me how to do my job, this is the last thing I do for you and…”

Helen didn’t need her to finish that sentence, she knew what was coming next, she knew that HG had made it quite obvious throughout the years that she still blamed herself for a lot of the things that happened. Knew that HG had lost faith in herself and her humanity for a while and it took longer than anyone would have liked for her to get it back, knew that she'd separated herself from the Sanctuary because she believed that it would be better for everyone involved if she didn’t associate with them.

“Can we have the room for a moment, Myka?” Helen looked at the younger woman sitting beside her friend, the agent looking at HG and the inventor nodding slowly before squeezing her hand.

“I’ll be in in a moment.” HG had assured before watching Myka walk into the bedroom. Her eyes turning back to Helen.

“I don’t blame you for what happened, but I know that you blame yourself, and I know there’s nothing I can do to fix that. I miss you, I miss having you as my friend and having your ideas be part of something bigger. I understand if you never want anything to do with us after this but I guess I’m just asking that for this issue at least for you to temporarily forget what happened and help me fix this. Then you can go back to hating us and never to any of us again.”

“That’s what you think? That I hate you and the Sanctuary? No, I don’t hate you, I hate myself. We all took part in that experiment, we all did things we regret, said things we didn’t mean but I…”

Helen shook her head as she stood up. “Don’t go down that path, you’ll find it never ends, the grief and the anger, they just sit back until you’re ready to deal with them.”

HG nodded, knowing that better than anyone, putting her hands on her knees and preparing to stand up. “Alright. I’ll come to the Sanctuary and I’ll get working on it. I’ll head over first thing in the morning.”

Helen nodded and smiled before heading back out to her car. HG walking into the bedroom and sitting on the side of the bed, Myka having gotten herself into some bed appropriate clothes and trailing a few fingers up and down HG’s back.

Shifting to kiss the inventor’s back through the material of her shirt, HG let out a calmed exhale, letting Myka do one thing that she didn’t even know she was doing, calming HG and the animal inside her.

“You okay?” Myka slid a hand under HG’s shirt feeling the warmed skin underneath.

“Yes, quite alright, I just…” HG took a moment, she was usually very good at words, but she’d spent so much of her life trying to remain sane and human and she felt like she was about to ruin all the work she’d done, “I agreed to help, Helen.”

Myka smiled against her shoulder through the shirt. “I think it’ll be good. How long will you be gone?”

”Hopefully not too long. Still on this continent just a little drive away.” HG lowered her head and felt Myka shift behind her, placing her hands on HG’s shoulders and digging her thumbs into the space below her neck and in between her shoulders, rubbing gently. “Bloody hell, that’s good.”

Chuckling, Myka kissed the inventor’s cheek, feeling the tense muscles loosen a little. “You rarely let me do this.”

“Yes, because I prefer to be the one taking care of you.” HG turned her head a little to face Myka a little more.

Myka took the opportunity to lean in and kiss the older woman, a hand sliding into the dark hair, the other hand coming to rest on HG’s jaw, feeling the inventor slide her tongue into Myka’s mouth as they kept kissing.

*************************

It had been a lengthy journey but HG arrived at the Sanctuary, looking up at the large building and the towering wooden double doors, about to reach for the handle when the door opened, a young man standing in the crack between the doors, blondish brown hair, blue eyes and a stare that made you feel like you were being studied.

“Will Zimmerman, you must be…”

”H.G. Wells, yes, that is I.” HG outstretched a hand for Will to shake before the man gestured for her to come in.

“Sorry, it’s still a little nuts to me that Magnus knows…everyone.”

HG nodded in understanding, she’d learned that the weird way when Myka had first found out that H.G. Wells was in fact a woman and not a man, though the inventor considered that maybe that was part of the reason Myka had found her attractive in the first place.

Unfortunately, being from a past time period meant that not everyone would know who you were, HG considering herself lucky to be known by Myka and the others, even if there were some reasons she’d kept contact so low between any of them.

“So, this is your lab, Magnus gave us strict orders never to touch this room so everything I believe is ‘exactly how you left it’.” Will spoke the last words in a somewhat horrid British accent and seeing HG merely blink, he cleared his throat. “Sorry, it’s just a thing I do sometimes. Anyways….let me know if you need anything, I’m just down the hall, Magnus has some things to attend to but she’ll be back as soon as.”

HG nodded before placing her hand on the doorknob. Will smiling and nodding before quickly heading off and then turning back once more. “Also…it’s nice to meet you.”

The inventor smiled warmly before nodding once and slowly opening the door to her lab, the young man had been right, nothing had been touched, to the point where half the books were layered with dust and the inventions had been untouched, exhaling slowly and shakily, she placed her duffle bag on the workshop table and sent a message to Myka.

“Just arrived, my lab is exactly how I left it, you’d love it here.”

The typing symbols showed for a small few seconds before a text popped up.

“Maybe I should change your contact name to ‘Mad Scientist’.”

HG shook her head as she read the message. “Cheeky.”

“You love it.” There was a small pause before another message. “I miss you already.”

Smiling warmly, HG hearted the message before placing it back in her pocket knowing that Myka would be shortly unable to message due to an artifact retrieval, instead the inventor set to work cleaning and unpacking her lab for use.

She moved boxes to different shelves, dusted off her books and blueprints and found everything she could that she had on time travel, it had been a while since she’d been here, doing work in this room, memories flooding through of her and Helen doing experiments and pulling things apart to put them back together again.

Hearing a knock at the door, she flipped another page of her notes, writing something down. “Yes, come in.”

The door opened a little and another man walked in, his eyes landing on hers, his nose moving as he inhaled like a sniffer dog.

”You must be Mr Foss. H.G. Wells. And yes, the smell would be familiar to you, I would apologize but…..”

Henry just nodded and smiled. “No, it’s good. I didn’t mean it in that way. I meant it like, the smell is calming, not because of that, it’s just that….”

”You’re not used to having someone being around with a similar background to you.” HG finished the sentence for the stuttering man.

Henry sighed and nodded as he walked in slowly. “Yes, the doc told me about you, it’s nice to have another….”

”I’m not quite a HAP, Henry, similar family but not quite what I am.”

“Either way, I think it’s awesome and if you need anything let me know, can I just say it’s awesome in here, I think this is the only room I’ve never been in.”

HG chuckled a little as she flipped through her book, making some more notes and letting the man have a little look around the lab. “Has Helen explained the situation to you?”

”About you being here? She said that Worth stole a machine and that only you could find it again.” Henry shrugged.

“The machine is a Time Machine, one that I invented, Mr Worth it seems has stolen it in order to save his daughter, though he’s smart he seems to have forgotten that time travel is incredibly dangerous.” HG shook her head. Thinking to herself who could possibly have such a smart brain and yet be so incredibly stupid not to use it.

She felt a touch hypocritical at the fact that should the roles have been reversed she’d have done the same thing, caring very little for repercussions, but right now, someone had stolen something from her and she wanted it back.

“A Time Machine and you made it? Whoa, that’s wicked, I’d love to pick your brain some time.” Henry smiled giddily.

“I hear you’re the resident genius here.” HG looked up from her notes.

“Well, not quite as genius as the doc but…when it comes to technology yeah.”

Nodding, HG beckoned him over and slid the blueprints over to him, watching as he looked at the notes and designs. His eyes getting bigger the more he saw before he turned his head to look at her.

“This is insane and I love it.”

“The machine is built with select materials, very rare and hard to find, it was hard work getting the machine to work in the first place, however, if I’m going to find this machine I need some help building a slightly smaller one.” HG crossed her arms as she looked at the man who then pointed to himself.

“You…you want m-m-me to help?” Henry stuttered out in shock. “That’s literally better than going to comic con, what do you need?”

HG chuckled before finding a list of materials she’d used last time. “Your technology is a little different to what we had back in my day so, some of this will be slightly easier to get hold of and put together.”

****************************

Myka was getting sick of this retrieval mission, she wanted to go back to HG’s cabin and take a long bath with candles and bubble bath and a mug of the fruit tea that the inventor always knew she needed, she wanted to be wrapped up in HG’s arms, feel the warmth of the older woman, maybe have a book in her lap.

But alas, she was chasing down an artifact that was almost impossible for them to find, she’d almost been hit by a car, been covered in slime and had a graze on her upper right arm that was stinging and getting itchier by the second.

It wasn’t until she was knocked to the ground and saw a car round a corner that she recognized that she allowed herself to slump back on the ground, her body too tired to fight anymore, Helen jumping out the car with Will and using tranquilizers to knock the creature out so that Will could heave it back into the van.

“Myka, are you alright?” Helen crouched down beside the woman on the ground, the doctor looking at the graze on her arm.

“The artifact, needs to…go in the bag…” Myka mumbled out before her vision blacked out and her head dropped on the road.

Helen nodded and grabbed the item that had fallen on the floor when she was fighting the creature, throwing it into the static bag and watching the spark fly as she did so, throwing the bag into the van on the seat and carrying Myka to the back of the van.

Returning to the Sanctuary, Will placed the static bag containing the artifact in HG’s lab, the older woman hearing all the commotion and coming to see what it was about, it wasn’t until Helen slid the van door open and saw Myka unconscious that HG remembered to breathe, running to the van and hauling Myka into her arms, HG carried her to Helen’s medical room.

Taking care to take Myka’s jacket off of her so that Helen could work her magic on the graze, HG folded the item of clothing up before grabbing one of her own much older jackets and placing it on the chair beside the younger woman.

“Thankfully it's just a graze, but it did get infected so she’s going to have to take some antibiotics, but she’s smart and strong so most of her body will heal by itself.” Helen informed as she cleaned the graze and wrapped a bandage around it.

“I’ll call Artie about the artifact.” HG reached for Myka’s Farnsworth, Helen nodding as she continued working on Myka’s arm.

“HG, where’s Myka?” Artie squinted his eyes at the small screen.

“Hello to you too, Artie, I’m doing great, thanks for asking.” HG rolled her eyes. “She got the artifact but an abnormal injured her so Magnus is helping her get back to full-Bering capacity and then she’ll be returned safely to you.”

Artie nodded. “Thank you. And I’m sorry for, um, not saying hi before making demands.”

“It’s alright, everyone’s tired and stressed, more than understandable.”

Artie took a moment before looking back at the Farnsworth. “Hold on, how about Myka stays with you for a little while, recuperate, take some time off, heal. She could use the time.”

HG nodded. “I think that would be nice for her, thank you, Artie, I’ll send the artifact over to you and I’ll take very good care of her.”

Smiling and nodding, Artie closing the Farnsworth, letting HG focus back on the younger woman still in the medical bed, Helen finishing up before letting HG have a moment alone with her.

Myka’s eyes slowly fluttering open and landing on the inventor as she tilted her head to the side, a lazy, sleepy smile gracing the agent’s features.

“Hey.” Myka mumbled before stretching a little bit.

“Hi, how do you feel?” HG wrapped her fingers over Myka’s, the younger woman locking their fingers together before pulling them into her lap.

”Much better now. Where am I?”

”This is the, um, Sanctuary. You got injured by an abnormal and Helen brought you back here so that she could…” HG nodded at the bandaged arm.

Myka looked around the room in a slight panic, “The artifact?”

”Taken care of, my love. Relax. Just focus on healing.” HG assured the younger woman who leaned back on the bed.

Taking a deep exhale and then inhaling to control her breathing, Myka nodded and smiled at the inventor, squeezing the older woman’s fingers.

“So…where’s your lab?” Myka arched an eyebrow.

HG smirked before helping the younger woman out of the bed and down several hallways, their hands still interlocked, Myka wrapping her other hand and arm around HG’s arm, as if she were claiming the limb as her own.

Her head against the older woman’s shoulder as they walked through the large building, Myka smiling brightly as HG opened the door to her lab and workshop and Myka stepped inside, her eyes glancing around the room, the books, the writings, the inventions, blueprints, everything that was uniquely HG.

The inventor leaning against the doorframe as she watched Myka take in the space around her. Her arms crossed causing the waistcoat she was wearing the crumple out of place slightly.

“It’s definitely you.” Myka placed her hands on the table and she looked at some of the inventions that were in bits and pieces.

HG coming up behind her and resting her chin on Myka’s shoulder. “These were the first models of anything I ever built.”

“They’re incredible. You’re incredible.” Myka turned her head and kissed HG’s cheek.

Smirking a little, HG watched as Myka trailed her fingers over the pieces of machinery, handled with care despite not knowing what they could do.

“I want to show you something.” HG made her way around to the other side of the table and sat down on the chair that was behind it, Myka walked around the table to join her, watching as HG tapped a finger on the Time Machine blueprints.

Myka’s eyes widening in shock as she took in what she was seeing, the original blueprints for the Time Machine, her fingers tracing over the letters that HG had written long ago when first trying to build such a thing that many had claimed her mad for.

HG felt Myka’s hand come up to her head, tangling fingers in the dark strands, scratching gently at the inventor’s scalp and leaning against the table as she watched HG’s attention land on another set of notes.

“I love your brain.” Myka smiled before kissing the older woman’s temple, letting her thumb trace the outer shell of HG’s ear, like she was trying to memorize the shape.

“Mmm, you tell me as much quite often.” HG chuckled and felt herself relax at Myka’s touch.

Myka moved closer and looked at the notes that the inventor had her eyes glued on. “So, the machine you made, tell me everything.”

HG chuckled and watched as the younger woman pulled a chair closer to her, both of them looking at some notes HG made a long time ago, both of them as excited as the other.

“A while ago, many many years ago, I had the idea to build a Time Machine, a crazy idea, I know. The idea came to me in a dream and at first I thought nothing of it, there’s was a lot of things going on at the time. After I lost someone, the grief overcame me and I…well, wanted to change the past, wanted to try and save them. So I built the Time Machine, of course the first few attempts went horribly and prototypes became dangerous, I was laughed at, mocked, stayed hidden for quite a while as I attempted to perfect the idea. Then with the help of Helen and James, I managed to make one, Tesla of course had helped, despite being his usual egotistical and cocky self. Once the Time Machine was working I went back in time to save the person I’d lost but…”

”It didn’t work.” Myka nodded understanding and a little saddened at the thought of a HG going through so much despite it having been a time when Myka wasn’t even born.

“Unfortunately not. So in my grief I hid away, ashamed at myself and the things I’d done, Helen kept tabs on me for a while, making sure that I didn’t do something everyone would regret.”

Myka brought HG’s hand up to her mouth, pressing kisses to the knuckles and the fingertips, feeling the callouses on the inventor’s hand as the older woman breathed in and out slowly.

”I’m glad that whatever happened to you back then caused you to be here today, I’m lucky to know you, I know you’ve been through a lot but….I enjoy having you in my life.” Myka spoke in between kissing HG’s hand, then leaning up to kiss HG’s lips, her free hand sliding into HG’s hair as the inventor pulled Myka into her lap.

Both of them kissing each other like it was the only source of oxygen they needed and like not kissing each other was a horrible idea, Myka’s arms sliding around HG’s neck and hands tangling in dark hair, the inventor’s hands sliding over Myka’s hips and into the back pockets of Myka’s jeans.

The two of them having their moment ruined by an alarm going off, HG listening out for the sound of intruders with her enhanced hearing.

“Cockblocked, again?” Myka groaning out at being interrupted once more.

HG smiling apologetically before the two of them headed out of the room and down the hall.

Helen making her way out of her office and towards Will who shook his head with a gun in his hand, the doctor looking at HG with a knowing look in her eye, Myka already reaching for tesla, knowing that HG wasn’t thrilled about people using guns.

Opening the door, Henry and HG were the first ones out, looking around with their above human senses, looking at each other when they sensed the same smell, a nod shared between them before Helen came rushing out with a gun in hand.

“Gunpowder.” HG and Henry spoke in unison and confirmation.

Helen and Will turning with their guns aimed and ready, walking around the clearing before there was a shrilling sound, a bright blinding light coming from the middle of the clearing and Adam showing himself.

“Oooo, it’s like a game of whack a mole. Catch me if you can.” Adam vanished again.

Myka joined Helen and Will with their guns aimed and ready, Henry with a thermal scanner but HG knew no matter how much gadgetry they had, they wouldn’t be able to predetermine where Adam would pop out from.

The bright light popped up several more times and then disappeared, each time making Helen more irritated, HG listened out, knowing that there was a sound two seconds before a light usually appeared, closing her eyes and listening for a moment, she heard a small zapping sound.

Myka watched as a dark wolf came out of nowhere and leaped to knock Adam down to the ground, lowering the gun, Will and Helen keeping theirs up and aimed at Adam who was currently wrestling with the wolf, Henry took that as his cue to transform, Myka letting out a quite and slightly impressed huff.

“Is everyone here able to transform into somewhat hairy creatures?” Myka looked over at the wolf and Adam fighting. Will and Helen shaking their heads at the question.

The wolf circling Adam before biting him and then Adam disappeared once more. Henry huffed out annoyed before another zapping sound and a bang was heard followed by Adam appearing once more, Henry thwacking him with his hand and sending Adam flying into the nearest wall.

Adam standing up and grabbing Myka in a headlock, the wolf shifting into a slightly worried stance, Myka looking into the dark brown eyes she knew and loved and nodded at the wolf.

“You have something I want. And you, Helen, are going to give it to me.” Adam informed.

“I’m not giving you anything. Release her before you do something you’ll regret.” Helen demanded.

“Oh, Helen, Helen, Helen, Helen, you don’t understand how this goes. I don’t care for any of you, therefore, I don’t care who lives or dies, you however, do…so here’s how this is gonna go, you give me what I want and I leave you all unharmed.”

”You’re not making demands here. And you can think again if you think I’m going to hand anything over to you.” Helen fired the gun that she had aimed.

Adam took the blow and stumbled back, Myka stumbling out of his grasp and the wolf running and pinning him to the ground before Adam groaned out.

“I need the source blood, Helen, and if you won’t give it to me in this timeline, then I’ll get it from another.” Adam disappeared and Helen dropped her gun.

“Bloody hell.” She turned to Will and he nodded in agreement.

Henry transforming back to human and grabbing a robe to cover himself. Myka rushing over to the wolf that was rapidly turning into a now human HG, the younger woman smirking as HG threw a shirt over herself to cover up, the only item covering her was a set of boxers, Myka smiling as the older woman wrapped an arm around her shoulders and walked side by side to Will and Helen.

“Bloody hell, indeed. Other than him stealing my Time Machine, I believe we now have a much bigger problem.” HG buttoned her shirt up.

Helen nodded. “It would appear so.”

“Source blood? What could he possibly want that for?” Will looked at the space that Adam had disappeared from.

“My guess is….his daughter.” HG stretched her limbs and felt the pops and clicks of everything going back into its usual place.

”Source blood? I feel like I’m missing a lot here.” Myka looked at everyone and Henry nodded in agreement.

“Helen, I believe that the kids these days say ‘we have some explaining to do’.” HG offered before heading inside the building in search of some trousers.

Helen nodding as everyone else piling in the large facility. Myka sitting down on the couch as Will came in with trays of food for everyone knowing that no one had eaten for well over a couple hours.

***************************

Myka digging into the food offered to her and HG chuckling as the younger woman offered her a forkful of meat.

“The source blood is connected to many of us here.” Helen started to speak.

“We’d each gotten gifts or abilities you might call them. John could teleport, Watson was big brained and able to see things others couldn’t, Nigel turned invisible, Nikola Tesla into a vampire, I gained longevity in my lifespan and HG…” Helen reeled off.

”Werewolf.” Myka smirked proudly. HG had shared that part of herself very early on in their relationship, the Warehouse agent reading whatever information she could find, which annoyingly wasn’t much, but HG had told her everything she’d asked about, not wanting to have any secrets between the two of them.

Helen nodded, crossing her legs and leaning forward on the table, Will handing her a mug of tea which she smiled as she accepted it and a kiss on her cheek from him.

“Adam had a daughter, she was very sick and of course during that time there wasn’t a lot of options in terms of medicine. I did everything I could, the only one of us who was qualified in that area of science, HG tried to help with devices that could help in small doses, like a pacemaker but unfortunately…”

”That didn’t seem to help either. So Adam got angered and….” HG added and Myka’s eyes landed on her.

“He attacked HG. His mind unraveled and broke and the man we once knew as kind and caring, was now in pieces and very angry.”

HG smiled a little sadly, she’d still had the scar on her rib from Adam’s attack, a scar that Myka had traced her fingers over many times before when HG had taken her ability to walk after receiving so much pleasure that they both simply collapsed in bed. And now Myka knew where it’d come from.

Taking HG’s hand in hers, Myka slid her fingers between the inventors pulling their linked hands into her lap, feeling the older woman stroke her knuckles with her calloused thumb, Helen smiled at the interaction and then turned to Will who quickly produced a file for Myka.

“Sorry, I’m still getting my head around Tesla being a vampire.” Myka chuckled.

Helen nodded in understanding. “Yes, it’s quite a lot to process.”

”And Nigel, the invisible man?” Myka looked at HG who smirked and nodded in confirmation, knowing immediately what the younger woman was asking. ”That makes so much sense.”

HG’s smirk turned into a chuckle as she leaned back in the chair beside Myka and took another bite of food, Helen looked at Will, he knew that look, knew that she was trying to work something out.

“What is it? What are you thinking?” The psychologist asked, blue eyes filled with worry and a desire for knowledge.

“He said that if he couldn’t get source blood from this time line, then he’d try another.” Helen recited Adam’s parting words.

“You think he’s going to use the Time Machine to go back and find the source blood.” Will confirming he understood what she was saying.

“He wants to give the blood to Imogen, thinking it will cure her, but god knows what it’ll do to her.” HG added and Helen nodded knowing that this situation had become a lot more complicated.

“I’m going to go and read up on some of mine and my father’s old research to see if there’s anything there that might help. I would instruct you to get some rest given your transformation but knowing you….”

HG nodded to confirm her theory, Myka knew her partner had terrible insomnia, always finding it difficult to shut her mind off or make it peaceful enough to sleep, usually waking up to find the older woman reading, tinkering or a cold bed in her place.

“Though I trust that Myka here will have some method.” Helen smiled a little before heading out of the room and towards the library.

“Oh you’ll love that library.” HG winked before standing up.

Myka smiled following the older woman. The two of them heading to a room that HG used to stay in way back when she’d been a bigger part of the Sanctuary, Myka heading in and flopping down on the bed, arms spread out before beckoning HG into the room, the older woman grinning as she crawled on the bed on top of Myka, the younger woman wrapping her arms around the inventor and werewolf and then wrapped her legs around the Victorian’s waist, hugging her tightly, HG burying her face in the younger woman’s chest.

“You’re not gonna sleep, are you?” Myka questioned despite knowing the answer.

“You know me too well, darling. However, this hug is very comfortable.”

Myka giggled out. “Well, if you’re not sleeping, then can I at least bother you whilst you’re in your lab?”

”You can always ‘bother’ me.” HG lifted her head and kissed Myka.

**************************

“So, the six, huh?” Myka had her head propped up on her palm, her elbow bent and leaning on the table as she handed the inventor a screwdriver.

“Yes. Am I still your ‘Mad Scientist’?” HG chuckled before taking a small hammer to the metal.

Myka smiled brightly as she watched the Victorian work. “You’ll always be my Mad Scientist.”

HG managed to place the screws in the correct areas and plugged in the power source that Henry had gotten for her, Myka watching in awe as the Victorian werewolf worked, always loving when HG was in the middle of a project and she got to see that little scrunch in the older woman’s nose when something didn’t quite work.

“So this is a smaller version of the Time Machine you originally created?”

HG nodded. “I’m hoping that with a smaller and more portable version it’ll mean that people can travel back and forth wherever they need to. Though I am hoping that it will be a one use toy.”

“What next?” Myka pressed one of the buttons and the machine whirred.

“Well, next would be to try and pinpoint the time and place in which Adam went and then find a way to code this machine into sending a person to that time and those coordinates.” HG rambled and Myka smiled like a kid listening to their favorite teacher but Myka had desire in her eyes as she listened to the Brit speak with knowledge and excitement and passion. “You see, the thing is the machine only works so well, of course rebuilding something I spent the better part of ten years building in the space of a day isn’t going to be perfect, though if I had the ego of Tesla then it probably would be but….”

HG didn’t even finish her sentence and Myka was kissing her, hard, hot, like Myka couldn’t care less about breathing she just wanted her lips on HG’s and her skin against hers, hooking her fingers into HG’s belt loops, the inventor placing her hands on either side of Myka’s face.

“Not that I’m complaining but…what was that for?” HG blinked slowly as she looked at Myka who was playing with her belt loop like she’d suddenly gotten so anxious that words were failing her.

“You were rambling.”

“You love my rambles.” HG pouted and Myka giggled.

“I do love your rambles.” Myka tilted her head slightly, her lips grazing the inventor’s, HG chasing her lips with her own. “Almost as much as I love watching you work.”

“Mm mm, you just like watching me with a power tool.” HG teased.

Myka smirked and took a breath to calm herself down and closed her eyes for a moment. “I have to admit, it’s very attractive, watching you build things, watching you work.”

HG shook her head and chuckled as she continued working on the machine. “If only there was some kind of way to track Adam down, it would make this a little easier.”

The inventor pursed her lips as she thought and moved the machine around as if it would show her the answers she needed.

“I’m sure you’ll figure it out. You always do. Big brain.” Myka winked before leaning on the table.

HG seeing something in her peripheral vision and turning to look at Myka or specifically her shirt with a blob of blood still on it.

“Myka, darling, are you hurt?” The inventor touching around the blood as if examining the woman for injuries.

Myka heard the hint of worry in HG’s voice. “No, baby, I’m fine. Must have been from when Helen shot Adam. I didn’t even notice.”

“Myka, you…” HG smiled and shook her head with a hint of pride like she couldn’t believe it. “You’re a genius.”

The younger woman smiled brightly, not knowing what she’d done, but happy that HG reacted the way she did.

Crooking her finger, HG walked Myka to Helen’s office, knocking on the door and walking in when hearing a voice call them.

“What is it?” Helen looked at HG and then Myka.

“Got something you’ll find interesting.” HG nodded at Myka and the doctor saw the splat of blood on her clothing.

Nodding, Helen took the shirt from Myka and grabbed a few cotton swabs, getting as much blood off it as she could before putting it into a vial and handing it to Henry to sort out in his workshop.

The techie promising to make something for HG’s machine to work before Helen ushered everyone out, saying that everyone needed rest as they wouldn’t be able to make any progress tired, though Myka knew that HG wouldn’t be sleeping any time soon.

*********************

HG had provided Myka with one of her shirts that had been here for a while, the item a little old but fitting perfectly on the younger woman, the inventory guiding the warehouse agent to the Sanctuary library after having promised her that she’d love it and Myka knowing that HG wouldn’t be spending her time sleeping for a while.

HG sitting at one of the many desks in the large room, watching Myka whose eyes widened in amazement at the number of books on the shelves.

“Holy crap.” Myka exclaimed and HG chuckled as she leaned back in the chair.

“You like?”

“This is insane. I love it.” Myka had her mouth opened in a silent ‘oh’ as she turned around and walked back and forth examining the shelves.

The inventor opening one of the books on the desk and letting out a soft half hum and half chuckle as she realized that Helen had literally left everything where they last had it.

Myka turning around to see what the older woman was looking at, walking around the table before coming to sit beside the Victorian.

“What’s this?”

HG slid the book over to Myka. Letting the younger woman see for herself. Long fingers tracing over the letters on the cover.

“The Time Machine. Your book.” Myka concluded with a bright smile.

“The first one ever published.” HG informed.

“But I thought the Warehouse had the first copy.” Myka furrowed her brows in confusion.

HG winked. “Artie just likes to believe he does.”

Shaking her head, Myka continued to touch the book, like she was close to knowing that person the inventor used to be before they’d met.

The curly haired woman opening the book and looking at the writing and the scribbles on the pages. “It’s like seeing the inside of your head.”

“There’s no one on this earth that knows the inside of my head the way you do.” HG tilted her head at the taller woman.

“Oh yeah?” Myka turned her face to challenge the darker haired woman.

“God, you know me better than anyone, you know more about me than I’ve ever let anyone find out.” HG confessed.

Myka knew that HG didn’t open up to people, that the inventor liked to keep herself to herself, that she never let anyone get too close. Taking the opportunity to climb into HG’s lap, her hands sliding up HG’s chest over the half buttoned shirt, her fingers playing with the disheveled collar.

“Thank you.” Myka whispered out.

HG tilted her head in that way Myka found utterly adorable. “For what, darling?”

“For trusting me with knowing you.” Myka glanced at HG’s lips, watching as a pink tongue darted out to wet her lips, the inventor seeing how Myka stared.

“Thank you for letting me and for proving you’re the right person for it.”

Myka didn’t let HG say anything else, leaning in and closing the gap, kissing HG fiercely, grinding herself into the older woman.

HG taking her cue to slide her hands under Myka’s thighs and lift her up, sitting her on the edge of the table.

“If you don’t touch me right now….” Myka began threatening but all thought vanished when she felt HG kissing down her neck and then her collarbones and then in between her breasts and…Myka shook her head, causing the inventor to look at her in worry.

“No no, you didn’t do anything wrong, very much right actually and I’m not hurt. I just…mmmm…” Myka closed her eyes at HG nipping her ear. “Need you inside me.”

HG pulled her head back to look at the younger woman. “Yes? You’re certain?”

Myka only nodded before HG lifted her up once more and carried her to the room HG was staying in temporarily. Both of them kissing hard, like they couldn’t be closer to one another if they tried, HG letting out a small chuckle at how impatient Myka was being.

The younger woman unbuttoning the Victorian’s shirt, wanting nothing in between them, HG throwing the unbuttoned shirt to the side before kissing up and down Myka’s neck, lathing her tongue over certain spots, Myka responding with her hips canting up into HG’s, the curly haired agent moaning at the friction it produced.

The inventor getting impatient now and used her additional strength to pull Myka’s jeans off and throw her top to the ground, HG mesmerized by the amount of skin now showing and taking the time to unclasp the younger woman’s bra.

“You’re so unbelievably beautiful. It’s like looking at a goddess.” HG praised and Myka felt her stomach flip adding a new wave of arousal.

She felt lips surround a nipple and Myka arched her back at the feeling, HG’s perfect tongue working wonders on her, her hand coming to slide into HG’s dark hair and scratch at the scalp the way the older woman had always loved.

“Fuck…” Myka yelled.

“I believe that is the idea, darling, yes.” HG teased before sliding Myka’s underwear down her legs and cupping the wet heat there.

Rolling her eyes back, Myka knew that HG hadn’t even started yet, but she’d always known that with the inventor, her Mad Scientist, that it was always intense and always felt good and she’d forever forget her name by the time HG was done with her.

“You smell so good.” HG murmured softly as she kissed near Myka’s hips. Myka had known that due to HG being a werewolf her senses were heightened, able to smell Myka from miles away and know whether she was hurt, in danger, excited or in this case….heavily aroused.

And don’t even get her started on the wolf stamina that human HG used to it’s full potential.

“Oh shit.” Myka moaned out as HG slid a finger inside her.

“Is this okay?” HG looked down at her, dark brown eyes looking at hazel ones, all Myka could do was nod as she wrapped her legs around HG’s hips and trapped her there so she didn’t dare move, not that HG would even dream of it.

Myka’s hands coming to grab HG’s shoulders, nails just digging into the skin there, able to feel the muscles and tendons as they moved within her, Myka’s head dropping backwards as she took it in.

“Feels good…really good…uhnnn.” Myka attempted to speak between moans.

The inventor nodding, she didn’t need words to know that Myka was feeling good, but she had to admit, hearing the younger woman enjoy herself was better than anything she’d heard in over 150 years of being on the planet.

“You look so good like this. Taking my fingers. Like you just can’t get them deep enough.” She felt Myka clench around her, smirking as she leaned down to Myka’s ear. “Is that what you want? Me to go deeper?”

”Please….” Myka rapidly nodded and HG smiled before doing as commanded and thrusting her fingers in deeper. “Oh god….”

”No god here, darling, just you and me, though I’ll happily take the holy title tonight if that’s what you want.” HG teased and Myka just moaned out loudly once more.

She could feel HG’s forearm muscles moving each time the Victorian slid her fingers in, Myka looking at those dark brown eyes that were slowly growing a goldish circle around the iris, the curly haired agent knew that HG was almost struggling for control when that happened, the wolf wanting to take over, Myka had seen the look many times before, usually when they’d already had a round and HG was deep within Myka, thrusting her hips and listening to the younger woman’s moans and HG incredibly aroused to the point where the wolf wanted to take over her brain. Myka had always thought there was something incredibly hot about HG wanting her so much that her wolf was affected by her.

“Can you go a little faster?” Myka whispered out and HG nodded, her fingers moving faster and harder the way the younger woman wanted. Her whole body shifting up and down the bed as HG moved within her.

Feeling HG’s fingers curl upwards and press on her g-spot, her whole body shuddered and she knew she was close, that’s just what HG did to her, the inventor looking at her like she was the most beautiful thing on the planet, like all she wanted to do was watch Myka feel all the pleasure in the world.

“You’re gonna…oh…you gonna make me…I’m gonna…”

”That’s it, darling, let it all go, show me how good it feels.” HG almost cooed, kissing her cheek before Myka screamed out in pleasure, her body shaking with the force of it as her body went through each wave of pleasure.

Wrapping her arms around the Victorian’s neck, Myka pulled her down for a kiss, hands sliding into the werewolf’s hair, scratching at the scalp as her legs tightened slowly around her waist, their tongues colliding.

HG chuckling as she could feel Myka grinding up into her, whether it was subconscious or not HG didn’t know, nor did she care, always wanting to give Myka whatever she needed or wanted.

”Are you gearing up for another round, darling?” HG teased as she tilted her head a little so that their noses were touching but they weren’t quite kissing yet.

“I always want to go again with you.” Myka smiled warmly as she slid some of HG’s hair behind her ear, fingers coming down to slowly stroke over her jaw and cheek.

“You’re insatiable. But I can’t help but love that about you.”

Myka giggled as HG leaned down and peppering kisses across her cheeks and neck before sucking down on a spot just under her ear, Myka letting out a quiet moan and closing her eyes for a second to take the feeling in, quickly remembering that she couldn’t have hickeys in line of sight, wanting to remain professional.

“Baby….not the neck, people will see.” Myka felt HG nod and change her direction, kissing down to wrap her mouth around one of Myka’s nipples once more, feeling a tongue dart out and lather over it before sucking softly over it.

Hips jolting upwards at the pleasure and Myka’s grip tightening on the back of HG’s head before she gave the same attention to the other nipple, the warehouse agent sighing out happily at the feeling.

“What do you need, darling? Tongue, fingers again, vibrator….” HG lifted her head up for a sec, her chin on the small space between Myka’s breasts, feeling the younger woman’s thumbs play with her ears for a second.

”What do you want to do to me?” Myka offered.

HG chuckling and smirking at the question. “I just want to make you feel good, there’s a million ways I could do as much but…I want to give you what you want.”

Myka felt her heart melt at the words, she knew that HG only ever wanted to make her happy and feel good, wanting to give Myka whatever she needed in that moment even if it was just a simple hug.

HG moving up slightly so that her face was level with Myka’s, the two of them kissing before Myka started grinding upwards again, the inventor smirking against the younger woman’s lips.

“Myka….”

”I just wanna do this. Just want to feel you. Just grind. Nothing elaborate or fancy, just this…is that okay?”

HG nodded. “You don’t ever have to ask if something is okay, darling, when it comes to you, I just want you to enjoy yourself.”

“I always enjoy myself with you.” Myka smiled before moaning quietly as she continued to grind against the inventor.

***************************

It had been late when Myka had finally fallen asleep, HG staying in the bed for a moment, just watching the young woman sleeping, watching as her lungs and ribs lifted and fell with each breath, felt her heart calm at the knowledge that Myka was happy, safe and alive. Of course, HG never stayed in bed for long, Myka usually having to drag her away from whatever project she’d been working on to make sure that the older woman got at least some kind of rest.

HG found herself in the kitchen of the Sanctuary, brewing a pot of tea, Helen walking in unable to sleep as well and sat at the kitchen island, HG grabbing another mug and pouring some of the tea into it before taking a few sips herself.

“How’s the machine coming along?” Helen asked knowing that they had a lot more to talk about but they’d do that when they had five minutes between fighting people that should be dead and thinking about what might happen in the future if the plan doesn’t go accordingly.

“It’s good. The machine is pretty much finished, I just need Henry to finish up with the blood tracker and it should be good to go, then again it’s not like I’ve had tons of time to perfect it but unlike Tesla, I do well with what I have.” HG nodded before taking another sip.

Helen placed the mug on the table and rubbed her temples with two fingers, thinking of what to say, there was so much and yet no way to articulate it without someone saying something that pissed someone off or someone changing the subject.

“Just say what’s on your mind, Magnus, you know I don’t do well with people walking on eggshells around me, I had just about enough of that in 1910.” HG crossed her arms after placing the mug down on the table.

“I’m sorry for what happened. I know that you don’t care much for apologies but….I can’t go on with this and having you here without having at least said it once. I know there’s many conversations to be had and I can’t begin to have the right words to say but…” Helen continued.

HG nodded at the words and the apology. It had been a while since she’d been around people who had truly known her from the beginning. ”Thank you for the apology, despite you already knowing that it’s not needed. It’s just…a lot to process after everything.”

“I know that a lot happened and you’ve been through a lot, maybe worse than any of us, and although I can’t think of any words that would make it better and that I can’t take back the past or change it, you’re still a friend, one of the best and I still couldn’t do this without you.”

“I don’t need nor want you to change anything. The past is the past and I know better than anyone that wishing for it to have gone differently doesn’t help anyone or anything. I’m not asking for a redo, but maybe perhaps after the dangerous part of all this has been dealt with we can learn to move on.” HG suggested and Helen nodded.

“So….Myka?” Helen arched a brow.

“Will.” HG countered.

Both of them chuckling before smiling at the mentions of their significant others. HG hadn’t seen Helen this happy since they were all using their gifts to help those in need over a hundred years ago, since they were in labs experimenting with dna and blood types. Helen hadn’t seen HG this happy since before the source blood.

“How long have you and Myka…” Helen began the conversation.

”A while. We met when she was at the Warehouse. Though she did try to shoot me so…something’s never change.” HG smiled before taking a sip of the tea.

Helen chuckled at that. It was nice seeing a smile on the inventor’s face after they’d been through so much. “Will’s mother was killed by an abnormal when I first met him, though he was younger at the time, I met him again when I hit him with my car.”

HG laughed hard at that. “Seems we have both met our other halves in strange situations.”

“Yes it would seem so.” Helen smiled. “It took us a while to acknowledge our feelings for one another, he’s smart and kind and very…”

”Selfless?” HG offered.

Helen nodded. “Yes, I supposed that would be the right word to use, even when we had our first kiss he was very cautious about it being something I wanted as much as him.”

“I know the feeling well. Except…I guess it was me that wanted to make sure that Myka wanted this for herself. She’s young and still has life and the world to experience and…”

”You feel like you’re holding them back.” Helen nodded in agreement, she’d had the same thoughts about Will when they’d first started seeing each other as more than just friends and colleagues. “Though sometimes you feel like you’re always destined to meet.”

“Like your lives and theirs are already intertwined.” HG smiled and she took another sip of tea. “Myka read every one of my books and knew almost more than me about my inventions. God she’s smart. After everything that’s happened, sometimes it’s hard to believe that I actually deserve her.”

“If anyone deserves to be happy it’s you.” Helen smiled warmly at the inventor.

HG nodded in thanks at the other Brits words, knowing that Helen knew her from the beginning, knew everything that had happened, knew what HG had been like before things had gone so wrong. Been there when HG had first transformed into a wolf and been there to help her learn her way through every transformation since then.

“Will’s like you with guns.” Helen smiled a little at the thought.

“Ah, a strong dislike for them.” HG thought back to the time Myka had asked her about such a thing. “Never liked using them, never thought much of them after many times being on the wrong end of them, but Myka seems to use a gun rather well, she’s great with a Tesla.”

”The first time I handed a gun to Will he looked like I’d just offended everything he stood for. He still prefers not to use them but I think he rather enjoys just watching the women be the badasses.” Helen shrugged it’s not like Will hadn’t confessed such a thing one night after they’d finished a particularly grueling mission.

“So, he’s your chosen successor, your protégé.” HG shifted her mouth considering the fact.

“He still gets antsy about taking over when I’m not in the building but….”

“He just can’t imagine a Sanctuary without Helen at the helm.” HG arched a brow.

Helen simply nodded. HG smiled, being older than most of the world’s buildings, having watched cultures change and dialects evolve and history expand, meant that you sometimes felt like you’d already outlived everything.

HG had often had the scary thought when she was tinkering away in her cabin, unlike most things technology was always changing and adapting and improving and she often struggled to keep up with it, but it was something she could always count on, something that would always be there.

“He’s not the only one. For a while, I was unsure on the Sanctuary, then again I had my own problems, but now…I struggle to see how the Sanctuary could work without you. Sure all you need is a kindness in your heart and an open mind but….you have something that’s unique and I think that’s what Will is afraid of losing. The Helen Magnus of the Sanctuary.” HG attempted to articulate.

“Truth be told I don’t think half of this would have worked if it wasn’t for us having a different and unique perspective on it. Of course you went through a slightly different change to the rest of us.” Helen pointed out.

“Ah yes, physically changing my entire body. Something Myka found interesting after finding out.”

Helen arched an eyebrow, wanting the inventor to continue with that sentence and thought process, maybe Will’s desire to understand the mind had finally worn down on her.

“She’s just something else entirely. I mean the first time I saw her I knew that there was something special about her and the first time I changed in front of her she didn’t scream or run or call me a freak or a monster, she just looked at me like I was the same person she’s known all along. And I swear that woman has an entire library in her head. I’ve never met someone so smart and kind and open minded, with such an insatiable thirst for knowledge, she looks at my blueprints and it’s like she understands a different language I’ve been trying to teach the world for decades.”

“Incredible, isn’t it? When you meet someone who truly understands you and sees you, I mean, I guess that’s what everyone wants, isn’t it? To be known and understood and seen.” Helen poured herself another mug of tea.

HG nodded, the first time she and Myka had kissed, she knew she wasn’t going to be the same again, she knew that what she and Myka had was something that was so powerful it had the ability to destroy her, she remembered Myka saying the words ‘I will not destroy HG Wells’ and she had countered that with a sentence of her own ‘you’re the only one who has the power to’ and Myka had kissed her harder than ever before.

**************************************

The morning had come and Myka had woken up with an arm over her stomach, a solid body against her back and HG’s mouth on her neck, her hand reaching back to tangle itself in HG’s hair, holding the inventor in her current position, her mind still in that strange place between sleep and being awake, her mind still partially dreaming.

“Mmm, baby….” Myka tilted her head back as HG kept going.

Feeling HG’s hand part her legs and slid softly between them, pulling Myka’s left leg over both of HG’s, the curly haired agent letting out a calm and relaxed sigh at the feeling, the inventor groaning at the feeling of hot slick between Myka’s thighs.

“Bloody hell, darling, you’re soaked.” HG placed another kiss on the younger woman’s shoulder.

Myka sighed out. “Well, I was having a really good dream.”

“Oh? Do tell.” HG murmured into her ear, feeling Myka shiver slightly.

”We were in bed and you were…OH…” Myka moaned out as HG slowly slid a finger inside before carefully circling her clit. “You were…mmm…going down on me.”

“Mmm, sounds like a good dream.”

“It was. But…I believe the real thing feels better than any dream or fantasy.” Myka slurred out confidently before shaking slightly at the feeling of HG’s fingers circling her sensitive bundle of nerves again.

“And that made you this drenched? You really are perfect, aren’t you?” HG teased as Myka rolled her hips into HG’s hand. “That’s my good girl.”

“Fuck.” Myka whispered at the praised, clenching down on HG’s finger, the inventor chuckling at the reaction as she kept going. “You feel so good. Don’t stop.”

“Never. I believe the best way to start a day is by…” HG allowed Myka to interrupt her sentence by moaning out loudly, “having an orgasm.”

“And here I thought you were going to say ‘having breakfast’.” Myka smirked before moaning out again.

“Maybe I want ‘breakfast’ for dinner instead.” HG suggested.

Myka groaned out as she felt a second finger slide inside her, her hips slowly rolling against HG’s hand, her moans kept coming even as she felt the inventor’s other hand coming up to cup one of her breasts, feeling a calloused palm against her chest, squeezing gently as her thumb came to slowly slide over a nipple.

“Fuck, don’t…unnnngg, don’t stop.” Myka moaned out once more, HG not stopping for anything, the younger woman’s hips stuttering as they continued rolling against her hand, the inventor’s other hand still moving over her breast and Myka knew that with combination she’d be a goner sooner rather than later.

“You’re doing so well for me. My perfect woman.” HG mumbled into her ear and with that Myka shouted out ‘HG’ with a loud moan following it.

Myka let the orgasm take over her entire body, feeling HG slowly remove her fingers, turning the head to the left so that she could kiss HG, the inventor smiling into the kiss as Myka tangled her fingers in her hair.

“Good morning.” Myka mumbled against her lips.

“It is indeed. How was that?” HG pecked her once more.

Myka turning over and gently stroking HG’s jaw with her fingertips. “Really…” A kiss against HG’s lips, “really,” another kiss, “good. Perfect, incredible, I might need to look at a thesaurus to get a new word to describe that.”

HG chuckled before turning her head to kiss the palm of Myka’s hands and then each of her finger tips. Watching Myka’s eyes close slowly at the feeling, her bottom lip coming between her teeth, HG loved these moments.

“How’s the Adam thing going? I know for a fact you didn’t sleep.” Myka knew HG a little too well.

“Henry is almost finished and then I’m going to have another look at the smaller Time Machine.” HG answered.

“Another day with the Mad Scientist.” Myka winked.

HG chuckled before collapsing down on her back on the mattress, Myka laying her head on HG’s shoulder, trailing a finger over the few scars the inventor had on their chest, shoulder and ribs. HG’s arm coming to wrap around the younger woman, fingers and a thumb moving up and down her back as the Victorian kissed the top of the Warehouse agents head.

“Will made a pot of coffee, if you’re interested.” HG informed the younger woman.

“Sounds great. A shame we have to leave the bed though.” Myka emphasized with a pout.

HG chuckled. “You really are insatiable.”

Myka crawling on top of the older woman, her hands either side of the Victorian’s head in the pillow and purposefully grinding down on her before leaning down to kiss her. “You love it.”

HG kissed her back with double the energy before Myka stretched her body, arms raising over her head as her back straightened and popped in the right places. HG darting a tongue out to lick her lips at the sight.

“God, you make me want to do things to you.” HG confessed.

“You do plenty to me.” Myka winked before shifting off the bed to get herself dressed, HG watching with rapt attention as Myka put a bra on and grabbed one of HG’s plaid shirts and buttoned it up.

“Do you just enjoy wearing my clothes?” HG teased as her eyes flicked in the direction of Myka’s bag of clothes.

“Mmm, that and I enjoy smelling like you.” Myka smirked and the words caused HG to growl. “Oh? What was that?”

HG rubbed the bridge of her nose, ashamed of getting caught making such an animalistic sound, her wolf enjoying it a little too much. ”Sorry, Myka.”

“Sorry for what?” Myka shook her head with a smile and moved to kiss the inventor’s forehead. “Don’t apologize. You don’t need to.”

HG nodded but she filed that info away for future, when she had five minutes to go through and consider what that meant, standing up to get herself dressed, knowing that the Time Machine had to be working as soon as possible so that Adam didn’t have the chance to do anything that would cause complete detriment to their current timeline.

*********************

The Time Machine was functional, after having made several changes, HG and Henry had managed to turn the Time Machine from a huge elaborate system, to looking like a child’s rucksack, HG knew she could make the Time Machine smaller if she had the time but currently they had more pressing issues.

Helen knocking on the door to see their progress and watching Myka’s face light up with pride as everyone smiled at the fact they could get this over and done with. Wanting to finally put Adam Worth behind them.

Taking the Time Machine and using the altered blood that Henry had adapted for them to use it as a tracker, HG quickly set up the Time Machine, the blood vial siding in neatly and the inventor twisting a few dials and pressing a few buttons.

“Now, the question remains as to who is doing a Marty McFly?” Henry looked around.

Helen looked at Henry and then Will before turning to HG.

“Don’t look at me, during that time I was hiding out in an abandoned building trying not to get captured, I’m probably the last person who should go.” HG countered.

“Well, I can’t very well go, I’ll cross over into my own timeline too much.” Helen rubbed her temple.

“And we can’t go because we didn’t exist in that time so we don’t know what we’re doing or what to leave untouched.” Will shrugged as he looked at Helen, referring to himself, Myka and Henry.

“As long as you leave the major parts of your time alone, meaning, be where you’re supposed to be when you’re supposed to be there, interact with who you’re supposed to interact with and so on then you’ll be safe, I’ll be able to track everything that happens to you and bring you back when you’re done.” HG explained and Helen took a deep inhale before slowly exhaling.

“I trust you, Wells.” Helen stood in the area in which HG required her to be for the machine to work.

Pressing a few buttons and strapping Helen into the machine, HG nodded her to let her know everything was set, making sure the computer monitor that she and Henry had configured were working to show her vitals and brain activity.

Helen placing the straps over her shoulders and then tightening the headpiece, HG gave a quick thumbs up, pulling a lever and then watching as Helen disappeared. Will looking at HG who looked at the screen which showed where the doctor had ended up.

“Trust her, she knows what she’s doing.” HG nodded at Will who looked a little skeptic.

Myka smiled as she watched everything happening, she had used HG’s machine before, it hadn’t been as elaborate as this but it was impressive none the less. Coming to sit down beside the inventor and watch the screen, knowing that despite barely knowing what was happening, HG would explain everything to her in such a way that Myka would be unlikely to forget it.

******************************

Helen appeared in one of the older streets of London, she hadn’t missed the smell or the slight fog that the Industrial Revolution brought to the world, she hadn’t missed the rowdy crowds that spent their evenings in pubs until they were too intoxicated to see.

She had, however, missed the lampposts that had been delicately designed. She had missed the tall buildings that seemingly never ended. She missed knowing the streets like the back of her hand. She missed when things were so much more finite and fact based.

Walking down the streets her mind could never forget, she heard a voice very similar to someone she once knew, John Druitt about to murder someone as he stood right in front of the timeline’s Helen, hiding behind the wall as she watched the past her aim a gun directly at the teleporter and begging him not to do something so stupid.

Internally, she cursed herself for trying so hard to get John to remain somewhat connected to his humanity, looking back and considering everything she knew, she thought that it was useless, Druitt was already set in his ways, trying to convince him to be any way else was a lost cause.

“Oh Helen, you made a big mistake coming here.” Adam popped up from round a corner, Helen following him, hoping that she might be able to talk some sense into him.

“Not nearly as big as the mistake you’re going to make all for one person.” Helen shook her head as she followed him, the gun in her holster ready, though she wanted to cause as little damage as possible.

“I would risk the whole world for my daughter, no price is too high.”

“Then you’re much further gone than I originally thought, this is reckless, stupid, think of the damage you’ll cause to the whole of history just by saving one.”

Adam vanished and Helen was getting sick of this. She hadn’t survived world wars and the Titanic and several pandemics just to be playing a wild goose chase across the whole of time because a man decided that one person’s life was worth more than a billion others.

Running down another street, Helen was more determined to find him, they were in London 1898 and the doctor dreaded to think what might happen if they didn’t do something and soon. Helen couldn’t lose anymore people, her heart had already felt enough pain, her mind going back to friends she’d lost throughout the years.

“You shouldn’t be here.” A familiar voice came from behind her, turning around she saw James standing there, hands in his pockets.

“James.” Helen smiled before running and hugging him, James smiling and hugging her tightly in return.

“Helen, it’s nice to see you too, however….this must be dangerous if you’ve crossed over into your own timeline and if you traveled through time then….” James looked at her as he figured everything out, his mind turning the cogs.

“HG helped. Though it took a lot of convincing.”

James walked beside Helen until they got to a hidden alcove. “Tell me as much as you’re allowed to.”

“Worth came back in time, he wants to save Imogene and god knows what that might cause to happen in my timeline, in order to save the future…”

“You have to save the past, this timeline, I guess that leaves the question of how can I help?”

Helen smiled warmly at the doctor, heart happy that at least someone in this timeline would be helpful, James nodding as the Sanctuary head went over the plan.

“Before we begin, you might need to change into something a little more time period appropriate.” James gestured for her to follow him as they entered the Sanctuary.

Once they were both dressed ready for the time period, the set off to where Adam would be going, to see his daughter as she laid in a bed trying to fight off the Leukemia, upon seeing that Imogene was still very much bedridden ill, Helen had realized that he’d come for the source blood thinking that would save her.

Though she had told everyone that she’d destroyed any remnants left of it, making sure it couldn’t be used for the wrong reasons, but Adam clearly hadn’t believed her if he’d gone through all this trouble.

James and Helen watching the past Helen discussing Imogene’s illness with past Adam.

“So he’s after the source blood that we all used to change ourselves, in order to cure Imogene.”

Helen nodded in confirmation. “However, no one could possibly know what might happen if he does, I kept one vial for safe keeping, somewhere no one would find it, we did the experiments when we were at full health and we all got abilities, gifts, whatever you wish to call them.”

James hummed in acknowledgment before scratching his chin as he considered something for a moment. “How is HG? In the future?”

The Sanctuary head smiling as the doctor asked about one of his greatest friends, the two of them having gotten along greatly before the source blood and in the beginning of them getting their gifts.

“She’s okay. She built the Time Machine to get me here and she’s keeping an eye on me from my time. But she kept her distance.”

James nodded understanding as much, having known that it would have been hard for HG considering she’d had such a transformative change both physically and mentally with the source blood and he’d known that in the beginning she’d found it almost impossible to deal with.

“We’ll all be better off if we can stop Worth doing whatever he’s planning.”

The doctor nodded before seeing the past Helen walk out and down an alleyway. “I believe that is my cue. If I see Worth, I’ll send him your regards.”

Helen chuckled and shook her head as she watched him head off. Walking into the building where it all happened, Helen saw Adam and Imogene, both of them discussing one of Worth’s experiments before grabbing a gun and aiming it at Helen.

“I told you, I would find a way.”

”You have put the entire world at risk.” Helen aimed her gun at him.

Adam laughed and shocked his head. “I don’t care. She is my entire world, without her, I am nothing.”

The two of them fought, Helen punching Adam before the Irish man shot at Helen, the doctor grabbing him in a headlock until he yanked on her arm and she elbowed him and sent Adam flying into the nearest wall.

Adam lost his aiming and started firing before his arm could steady, causing the building behind him to lose its perfect balance on its foundations, the building crumbling down and Imogene getting caught in the rubble.

Adam dropping his gun and running over to her side, shaking her to attempt to wake her, he’d been through too much to lose her this way, he’d just gotten her back, the rain came pouring down, the road rapidly flooding and their clothes gaining extra weight from the water absorption.

Turning his head, Adam looked at Helen, anger in his eyes, his jaw clenched as he stood up and ran towards Helen, the doctor pressing the button on the Time Machine before he had the chance to do anything stupid.

************************************

Back in her own timeline, Helen panted out for oxygen, like she’d been deprived for days, HG taking everything off of her and helping her sit down before ordering Will to fetch a thermal blanket and some tea.

“What happened?” Will looked between HG and Helen who was trying to get her bearings back.

“He still lost her, didn’t he?” HG questioned despite knowing the answer herself.

Helen simply nodded as she leaned back in the chair, Will wrapping an arm around her to give her some body heat to help the temperature transition.

Turning the Time Machine off, HG crossed her arms and Myka looked between Helen and HG, proud that it had worked but knowing that it had still had a cost.

“James asked about you.” Helen informed the Time Machine inventor and HG smiled a little sadly at the mention of her friend.

Myka placing a hand on the Victorian’s shoulder and rubbing a thumb as a way to gently soothe the older woman.

“He didn’t get his hands on the source blood, I made sure the was hidden somewhere no one would find it, however, he still changed some things meaning…”

”It might still have an effect on this timeline.” HG finished the thought.

Myka sitting at the computer and typing something into the search engine, HG smiling at her as she did so, knowing that the younger woman would know the kind of things to look out for.

“The major things remain intact. History seems untouched.” Myka confirmed.

HG and Will looked at each other; almost having a silent conversation before looking at Helen.

“Do your memories remain the same?” Will crouched down in front of Magnus.

The doctor took a moment to consider the major events she’d been through, she could remember everything that had happened in history, even the things she’d hadn’t directly been a part of, remembered the roads she’d been down, the people she’d met along the way, everything seemed in order up to now.

“Yes, everything remains the same as it once was. We should do some brain scans just in case though I’m not worried about them coming up with anything we don’t already know.”

Will nodded at the idea, the two of them heading to Helen’s medical bays to run some scans, which of course, Helen would be looking at as she understood more about them than anyone in the facility save for Biggie.

HG let out a slow exhale before sitting down and leaning her head back. Myka smiling warmly before standing behind the inventor, hands coming up to gently play with dark strands of hair, HG closing her eyes at the feeling.

“You okay?” Myka mumbled.

“I’m more shocked than anything that the machine actually worked.” HG huffed out.

“Why are you shocked? It’s you. Of course it was going to work.” Myka smirked with pride before HG dropped her head forwards and rubbed her temple with her fingers.

“Because I had less time than the last time I built such a thing and because who knows what happened back in 1898 London.”

“Helen knows. And we could see mostly everything remained the same if not everything. Nothing feels different so….” Myka reminded her.

“How are you so good at that?”

“Good at what, I’m not doing anything.”

“Oh but you are. My mind is quiet, my thoughts are slow, I feel grounded.” HG listed off a load of things that Myka usually did for her without even knowing.

“Because I know you.” Myka smiled before kissing her cheek. “Now, I’m going to make some tea and you can check on Helen.”

HG nodded before mockingly saluting the younger woman who just chucked as she made her way to the kitchen.

Will handing Helen the brain scans for her to see for herself if anything had changed, the doctor studying them as if she were just a regular patient that she was treating, everything appeared unchanged, granted her body had gone through some stress as she had imagined it would have, going through time would have physical effects not just mental ones.

HG nodded as she headed in through the various doors to get to the two of them, she was smart and a scientist in her own right but not a doctor of medicine, that had always been Helen’s department and skillset.

“I remain the same as always.” Helen confirmed and HG nodded thankfully as she placed her hands into her pockets.

“Another thing we can tick off.” HG smiled. “Myka is making tea if anyone’s interested.”

Helen nodded and stood up at the information, she felt like she could drink a bucket of water and not be hydrated enough, HG had warned them the first time she’d made a Time Machine that dehydration had a high chance of occurring and was undoubted one of the more straightforward side effects.

**********************************

Everyone had headed into the kitchen, Myka grabbing multiple mugs and placing them on the kitchen island for everyone to grab one, several tea pots sitting near the mugs as she came to sit near HG who just stood with her hands in her pockets, almost slightly distracted with something in her head.

“Well, now that we can confirm the brain scans are the same, we can assume that everything remains the same.” Helen informed everyone in the kitchen and there were a few nods proving that everyone was thankful for that.

Will kissing her to show just how thankful he was with the news, the last thing he wanted was for Magnus to return to him harmed even in a small way, HG nodded at Helen who smiled at her in return.

“Thank you.” Helen mouthed.

“As if anyone other than myself could have built such a machine.” HG titled her head in a playful challenge.

Helen chuckled before everyone had dismissed themselves off into the different areas in the Sanctuary. HG heading towards her workshop so that she could put the time machine somewhere safe so that no one broke it or used it on accident.

Myka walking in and leaning against the work table where several half finished inventions and blueprints created a slightly cluttered mess, something she had considered to be what the inside of HG’s brain looked like.

“So…James, I’m guessing that James Watson.” Myka questioned.

HG nodded with a warm smile as she thought back. “He was a dear friend, even though I wasn’t the nicest person to be around at first when the source blood was first used, we were quite close, even when he was writing about solving crimes with his intelligence and almost seeing the crime unfold, it was the closest thing to magical to see it unfold really.”

“You don’t talk a lot about the start of all this.” Myka pointed out, though she made sure that HG knew she was there for her regardless of how much or how little HG wanted to talk about.

“It was a little messy at the start. You know of course that we all studied together, I was still working on artifacts as well as the idea that there was more to life among us than just humans, artifacts made sense, it was like keeping history intact as well as being part of it.”

Myka nodded with a warm smile as HG spoke, wanting her to go on, wanting to understand how her brain worked and know the person she was before she’d had a gun to her head.

“Helen was, of course, the major scientist when it came to all of these things, she’d been the one to get the blood and the one to write down all the theories she had about it. Tesla was intrigued and of course wanted to see if the experiment came to fruition, though I considered that he may have just be in love with Helen and that was the real reason why he did any of this, James was fascinated by the way the mind worked, wanting to know the effect that the blood may have had on the mind, John had been in it for Helen, he’d gathered the other components and took notes on the findings, Nigel was great when it came to biology and chemistry and the things the blood was capable of, he was interested in the science and was it could mean for human evolution.”

“And you?” Myka crossed her arms as HG took a seat in her workshop.

HG smiled at the younger woman. “I was interested in the knowledge that there was more to this world than the average human got to be part of. Of course I’m not scientific in the way of biology or medicine, that was Helen and Nigel but I was able to provide them with machinery and knowledge of the unseen and things that everyone else simply ignored.”

“Sounds incredible.”

“It was. But of course, things changed for us after the source blood, we knew that it would cause differences but I guess we weren’t expecting them to be so….” HG shifted her eyes to the left as if she were searching for the right word.

“Drastic?” Myka offered. HG smiled and nodded at the word. The younger woman walking over to her and sitting on her lap at a sideways angle, wrapping her arms around the older woman’s shoulders and neck.

“That would be putting it lightly, but for lack of a better term, yes, it would seem that the changes were a little more extreme than we’d expected them to be.” HG titled her head to kiss Myka’s shoulder.

“I think that even with everything that’s happened….you’re quite incredible.” Myka praised, her hand coming to rest on HG’s jaw before she leaned in and kissed the older woman, tongue sliding in to meet hers and HG let out a quiet groan at the feeling as her hand slide to the small of Myka’s back so she didn’t fall off from balancing on HG’s legs.

“You’re quite incredible yourself, Agent Bering.” HG smirked and felt Myka trailing her thumb over her bottom lip, the inventor kissing the tip of the agent's thumb.

Then a loud alarm sounded from nowhere, HG blinking rapidly before twitching her head so that she could pick up on what the alarm was sounding for, Myka turning her head as she stood up from HG’s lap and followed her through the building.

Helen and Will meeting them on the way, Myka just behind HG as the werewolf opened the door and went first, making sure that if anyone fired or placed a trap of some sort that the one most likely to heal would be the first in the line of fire to prepare the others.

“Helen Magnus, you’re in quite a bit of trouble.” A voice came out from ahead of them.

HG and Helen looking at each other as they recognized the voice that had spoken, Will and Myka looking at each other before looking at the two older women standing in front of them with their backs against the wall for cover.

Both of them peering around the sides of the wall and looking in the direction with which the voice came from.

“Is that any way to treat an old friend?” John Druitt stood in front of them, alarm screeching and lights flashing, HG’s wolf about to come out, Helen looking at John, someone she had once worked well with and considered somewhat a friend having turned into one of their worst enemies.

HG waiting for the signal, Helen looking at John as if shifting her eyeline even slightly would cause some sort of detonation, Helen focused her breathing and her pulse before twitching her eye ever so slightly and the next thing HG knew was her bones cracking and breaking as she shifted.

To be continued……
