Work Text:
I saw them across the room, a gin and tonic in their hand, black outfit accented in a shade of green I'd never even imagined before. A shade that caught the lights of the club perfectly.
They weren't dressed like the girls, short skirts, tight tops, revealing dresses. They weren't dressed like the guys either, they were just dressed as themself. Anything would've suited them with the air they carried with themself.
They caught my eyes on them, and as the bass hummed through the floor of the club they took a swig of their drink, then set the cup down and made a move towards me.
I froze. Why were they coming towards me? I was just any other person, they were…supersonic.
“Kupid je vmešal svojo mesečino v moj tonik” they said, accent thick. What? What did that mean? The room was spinning, their hands were on my body. My hips. My chest. My face.
The waves of the music blasting around us blend with their voice inside my head. It's like they're in my veins, powering my heart and making it beat much faster than it should. It's like they can touch my soul. No. Not just touch. Fuel. From these short moments we've spent together they are already my air, and I'm scared if they let me go I won't be able to breathe.
“You are…” I began, but the alcohol took my words. Maybe if I wasn't such a chronic drinker I wouldn't have had more, wouldn't have needed to drink them up before me. Stronger than any tonic I'd ever tasted.
They're finger touched my lips. I understood instantly, I didn't need to speak. I didn't need to do anything, as long as they were next to me.
The neon green lights cut through the smoke of the cigarettes being smoked around us, capturing their outfit in what was somehow a better light as they slid their hands slowly, smoothly, purposefully round the back of my neck.
The city was gone, the room was gone. The gin and tonic was lost to the waves of the synths and the hums of the guitars. I felt like I was running. Running through a grass field, through a crowded square, away, towards, just running.
They're lips hit mine with the crash of the drums. I kissed them back like it was my destiny. I didn't know if I was a good kisser, but it didn't matter. It was us. Here. I no longer knew how to go anywhere else.
Every move felt like deja vu. Like we'd done this a thousand times before. Like we knew every secret about each other, despite having never shared a word in the same language.
My hands were all over them, but I couldn't pull them close enough. Our bodies couldn't merge, but it felt like we were one. Our hearts beating in time, minds thinking the same thoughts.
Their hair had been a mess since before my hands got to it, and somehow the more I messed it up the more sure of them I became. They're skin felt sweet, like candy, beneath my fingers. The lights blurred my head, but I didn't need to think. I needed them.
By the time the sun rose tomorrow they'd be gone, but tonight they were mine. And they had ignited something in my soul that would never leave. A connection I had never felt with another human. Was this love? Or was this just intense hormones?
The brush of their fingertip felt like a fist around my heart, holding me down, grounding me against the alcohol. The club had been playing the same song on repeat, the singer's voice enchanting me into a trance. Was that the singer? Or was that them, talking to me?
I closed my eyes. I didn't need to see. Everything filled my head. Music. They're hands on my skin. The soft touch of their lips against what felt like every part of my body at once, like they were kissing me from the inside.
It was supersonic.
