Chapter Text
The House
A cool breeze blew through the streets of Lucella, the soft glow of the moonlight casting down through the shadows of the night. The only other source of light were the street lamps, some flickering every so often. The streets were quite empty, save for a single police car driving through the road.
Player, an outstanding officer of the Lucella Police Station that had just recently been promoted, had been assigned to a Missing Person's case. The victim's last known location? His house, the Piggy Family residence. As they pulled up to their destination, they couldn't help but feel that something was off. It was quiet. Unusually so. They stepped out of their car, still unable to get rid of that eerie feeling.
'Well, this is the place that Georgie Piggy was last seen.' They could only think to themself.
Usually, they wouldn't go investigating cases alone, but their partner was having their day off. Though, they were sure they could handle this. It's just a Missing Person's case, right? Nothing much to it. A sudden thud was heard nearby, but they couldn't pinpoint exactly where it was coming from.
'What was that sound?!' Before they could go and investigate, a sudden force collided with the back of their head, knocking them out cold.
'Oh my god...' The teenager clutched the bat in her hand, staring at the body on the ground.
When she saw an officer standing outside her house, there were voices in her head. Voices that she couldn't ignore, voices that she couldn't help but listen to. They told her to attack the officer, it was so easy. They had their back turned, their guard was down. She was able to easily sneak up on them, landing a quick but powerful blow to the head.
She knew what this meant. She saw what happened to the poor souls her parents attacked. All of their victims came back to life, but as monsters. They had no other purpose but to hunt and harm. That's all they were reduced to, and she just brought this fate onto an unsuspecting officer.
The voices had stopped, but the throbbing in her head hadn't. Her parents had turned quicker than she did, they didn't know what to expect. But now, because of them, she knew exactly what was going to happen to her. What was going to happen to both of them.
Eventually, she made the decision to lock them both inside her house. That way, neither of them will have to hurt anyone.
"Attention...........-thing happened-.......get t-....station....."
The radio cackled, but the intended receiver hadn't been listening. How could they? They were out like a light. But eventually, Player had finally regained consciousness, their eyes adjusting to the open ceiling lights. They sat up, their head throbbing as they looked around. They were in a bedroom, laying on the bottom bunk of a bunk bed. From the looks from it, it seems to be the bedroom of Piggy siblings Penny and Georgie.
Their mind was still a bit foggy, but they could remember that they were last standing outside the house until they were suddenly knocked out. Whoever attacked them must've brought them inside. For what purpose? They didn't want to find out.
'Oh god... I've got to get out of here!'
They stood up, quietly making their way to the door. They didn't want their captor to learn they were awake, after all. They carefully opened the door, keeping their footsteps light to reduce the chances of the floorboards creaking as they walked. The house was as quiet as it was outside, it was unnerving. As they walked, they checked their belt. They still had their radio and their gun, somehow. Wouldn't their captor have at least thought about taking their gun? Well, they weren't going to complain.
The room at the end of the hall had been left with its door open, which they could easily tell was just a bathroom. The only other way out was a door just in the middle of the hall, to their right. They held the handle, their other hand on their gun in case the perpetrator was just on the other side of the door. With a deep breath, they pushed the door open, gripping the handle of their gun without taking it out of its holster.
It was empty. There were stairs to their right, leading down to the front door. Unfortunately, the door had been locked, boarded, sealed with a code, and even blocked by a laser gate. Damn, whoever their attacker was, they really didn't want them to leave. Seeing as no one was around, they took the opportunity to inspect the door, trying to figure out how exactly they were going to get out. Since for one, they knew absolutely nothing about this house.
As they were lost in thought, the sound of a doorknob rattling snapped them out of it. They held their gun, turning around to find the source. There was a door just to their left, one on the far right, another just below the stairs, and a final one just across. But the rattling sounded really close by, so they could deduce that it was coming from the right side facing the front door.
Just as they expected, the door had burst open, and they were met with a tall... thing with glowing eyes. Its entire body was slightly deformed, but Player couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity in this creature. They couldn't pinpoint why, but that would have to wait for now. The creature raised their bat, ready to strike them with it. They stepped back, aiming their gun at the thing before pulling the trigger. Usually, they'd at least try to negotiate with aggressive individuals, but that thing didn't exactly look normal.
However, the bullet didn't seem to do too much to the creature, as it stood in place. It looked like it was paralyzed, which was better than nothing happening at all, they supposed. Before whatever effect had taken over the thing wore off, they ran for the door across the room. Entering the door and shutting it behind them, they looked around and realized they had found the kitchen. What they really needed was something that'll help them get out of there. Though, their eyes caught a structure just outside the large window. A shed.
A shed! That was bound to have something useful, right? They could hear the creature's footsteps, approaching the door behind them. Without hesitation, they ran over and jumped through the window, landing quite nicely on the ground. They moved around to the door, only to find it was also locked. For god's sake, they didn't have time for this. So instead of trying to search the entire house for the key, they just kicked down the door.
Their eyes landed on a hammer, laying on the ground. They swiftly went over to grab it, heading back to the window. Perfect timing, as well; That creature from earlier had just made it to the backyard, having been alerted by the sound of the door breaking. They climbed back through the window, making a break for the door.
No way were they gonna search this house for the front door key, guess the code, and then figure out how to manually deactivate the lasers, hell no. They had a better solution! They punched the circuit connecting to the lasers, which luckily deactivated them, before continuously raising the hammer and bringing it down onto the door, breaking it down. It was just a wooden door, after all.
The creature was just behind them, about to attack them before they quickly reached for their gun and shot at it once again. With that thing stunned, they kicked down what remained of the door, before finally taking a nice breath of freedom. Is this how criminals felt when they were released?
'What in the world was that thing? It looked so familiar, yet I've never seen anything like it before. Not to mention it tried to attack me...'
They checked the barrel of their gun, which had about 2 bullets left. They glanced back at the front door, trying to process everything that had just happened. Thinking back, that monster seemed... pig-like. And yet, it didn't seem to be a member of the Piggy Family. It didn't really seem to be that intelligent, or even conscious for that matter.
'I need to go get some help from the station.' They concluded, brisk walking to their car in case that monster had already woken up.
As they buckled their seatbelt, they tried to reach their coworkers through their radio. Unfortunately, the only response they received was the buzz of radio static. They'll just have to bring up the situation in person.
