A Wicked Day

Summary:

Twins Sunny Side Up and Berry Jars 'N' Jam fall in love with Wicked, the movie! (#YLFW01)

Notes:

Welcome to season 34! This episode is inspired by the Grace's World episode of the same name, where the twins Annabelle and Isabelle get obsessed with the movie Wicked and decide to buy costumes to dress up as the witches, but end up giving them away in the end. This sure was fun to put together! Decided to write this one because Wicked part 2 is coming out this Friday.

Enjoy this wicked Lalaloopsy adventure (pun intended) I put together! And if you can, see part 2 of Wicked once it comes out in theaters!

Work Text:

Mango Tiki Wiki, Sunny Side Up, Berry Jars 'N' Jam and Cinder Slippers were all shown sitting in the same row at Sugarplex Theater, watching the movie Wicked. "Are you sure we're going to like this movie?" Sunny asked. "I think you'll enjoy it," Mango answered. "It sounds like it might be a bit scary," Sunny said. "It sounds like it might be a bit boring," Berry added. "Just see how you go. If you're not enjoying it, we can go," Mango said. "Can we go now?" Berry asked. The title screen for Wicked appeared on the screen. "It's starting! Quiet, everyone!" Cinder said. "This does not look very... ooh! That looks nice!" Berry said. A mini montage was shown of Sunny and Berry reacting to scenes from the movie, including laughing, screaming, saying "look out," crying, and commentating on how beautiful certain scenes are. Eventually, the movie was over. "Wait? That's it? What happens after that?" Berry asked. "So you enjoyed Wicked?" Mango asked. "Best movie ever!" Sunny and Berry answered.

"Thanks for taking us to see Wicked!" Cinder said as she, Sunny, and Berry headed back to the island home. "You're welcome!" Mango said. "I'm going to ring Blossom and tell her all about it!" Cinder said. "Well, don't spoil it for her," Mango told Cinder. "I won't!" Cinder said as she headed upstairs. "Ooh! I'm going to go tell Crumbs!" Sunny said. "Don't stay too long!" Mango said, as Sunny darted out to go tell Crumbs. "Okay!" Sunny said. "You don't want to go to Crumbs' cafe?" Mango asked. "No," Berry answered as she walked inside the house. "Oh," Mango said. "I was thinking we can do something together," Berry said as she got further inside. "Really?" Mango asked. "Yeah! It's been ages since we had some real quality one on one time!" Berry answered. "That's a great idea! We can cook something, or do some sewing!" Mango said. "Or we could go to Costume Morgue at Whiskview Mall and you could buy me a new Glinda the good witch costume," Berry said. "What?" Mango asked. "I'll be waiting in the go kart," Berry answered as she went to the go kart.

Mango and Berry arrived at Costume Morgue, where the TV screen was advertising Wicked costumes. "I hope you don't get this costume, wear it once, then never wear it again," Mango told Berry. "What? No way! I'm never taking it off! I'll sleep in it!" Berry said, as Lea, the Costume Morgue cashier, arrived. "Hello, can I help you?" Lea asked. "One Glinda costume, please," Mango answered. "Ooh! Nice! You're a lucky little girl!" Lea said. "I'll say!" Mango said. "Here we go. Will that be cash?" Lea asked, as she handed Berry the pink Glinda costume. "Yes, please," Mango answered, as she paid up for the costume, then she and Berry headed back home.

"Tada!" Berry said as she got on her Glinda costume. "Very nice!" Mango said. "You like my magic wand?" Berry asked as she showed it off. "Very sparkly!" Mango answered. "Hey, what's going on here?" Sunny asked as she returned. "I'm Glinda, the-" Berry answered. "I know who you are! How come you got a costume?" Sunny asked. "Berry really likes Glinda, so-" Mango answered. "Well, I really like her too! Can I get a Glinda costume?" Sunny asked. "Well..." Mango answered. "Maybe you should be the wicked witch! That will suit you!" Berry told Sunny, as Sunny groaned at that thought. "Come on, let's go," Mango said. And so, Mango drove Sunny to Costume Morgue in her go kart.

Mango and Sunny arrived at Costume Morgue. "You're not just getting this costume because Berry got it, are you?" Mango asked. "No, I love Glinda!" Sunny answered. "Okay," Mango said. "Can I- oh, you're back again!" Lea said as she approached the counter. "Yes. I'll need another one of those Glinda costumes, please," Mango said. "You don't want the wicked witch costume instead?" Lea asked. "What are you saying?" Sunny asked Lea. "Nothing. I'll get that Glinda costume for you," Lea answered, as she went to go get the Glinda costume. "I should hope so," Sunny said. Lea handed over another Glinda costume, Mango paid up for the costume, and then they headed back home, for Sunny to show herself in it.

"Well, what do you think?" Sunny asked as she approached Patch Treasurechest, who was reading a newspaper. "Beautiful!" Patch answered. "You are such a copycat! I think I actually make a better Glinda than you!" Berry told Sunny, as she got back in the room. "What?" Sunny asked. "Why did you both want to be Glinda?" Patch asked. "Because she's a good witch!" Sunny answered. "Yeah, she's kind to everyone!" Berry added. "And uses her magic to help people!" Sunny added. "Magic?" Patch asked. "Yeah! It really works!" Berry answered. "Want us to show you?" Sunny asked. "Sure! What if you-" Patch answered. "We can make you look handsome!" Berry said. "But I though I was already handsome," Patch answered. "You are handsome!" Sunny said. "Thanks!" Patch said. "In a Shrek kind of way," Berry answered. "Hey!" Patch said. "But we can fix that!" Sunny said. "Go on," Patch said.

"With a touch of magic, and a little time," Sunny said. "This spell can make any man look fine," Berry added. "Patch needs help, he looks like a wreck," Sunny added. "Make him look good, not like Shrek," Berry added, completing the spell. Nothing ended up happening. "Well? Do I look handsome now?" Patch asked. "I think these wands are broken," Berry answered. "I think he looks worse now," Sunny added. "What? But-" Patch asked. "I can't believe he's got to go through life looking like that!" Berry said, as she and Sunny walked away. "Girls? What have you done?" Patch asked as he looked at himself.

Berry approached Mango, without her costume on. "Hi, Mango," Berry said. "Where's your Glinda costume you said you'd never take off?" Mango asked. "I got a bit bored of it," Berry answered. "What?" Mango asked. "It's okay, though, I'm going to give it to Jewel," Berry answered. "Jewel Sparkles?" Mango asked. "Yeah! She really wants it!" Berry answered. "You're just going to give her that brand new costume that I paid for?" Mango asked. "Um, yes!" Berry answered. "I knew this would happen!" Mango said. "But I really want Elphaba's costume now!" Berry said. "The wicked witch?" Mango asked. "Yeah!" Berry answered. "No, Berry, definitely not!" Mango said. "Please?" Berry asked. "I said no!" Mango answered. Mango reluctantly headed back to Costume Morgue with Berry. "One Elphaba costume, please," Mango said. "Oh, you didn't like the Glinda costume?" Lea asked. "Well, you see-" Berry answered. "Don't ask," Mango told Berry. "There you go, one wicked witch costume," Lea said as she handed the costume out. "Thank you," Mango said. "And you get this witch's broom as well," Lea said as she brought it out. "Ooh!" Berry said.

After Berry arrived home, she put the costume on and showed it off. "Wicked Witch of the West coming through!" Berry said as she approached. "Nice costume!" Tippy Tumblelina said. "Thanks, Tippy!" Berry said. Sunny arrived, still in a Glinda costume. "Well, Jewel loved my Glinda costume! She said-" Sunny said, but stopped when she saw Berry wearing the Elphaba costume. "Hey, when did you get that?" Sunny asked. "From the store. And don't even think about-" Berry said, but just as Berry said that, the scene cut to Mango and Sunny at Costume Morgue. "You're back, again," Lea said. "Yes. It seems like someone here has changed their mind," Mango said. "So one more Elphaba costume?" Lea asked as she brought that out. "Yes, please, and don't forget the broom," Sunny answered. "Got it right here," Lea said as she brought it out. Mango paid up, then she and Sunny headed back home.

"I should've got this costume the first time around! It's so-" Sunny said, but stopped as she saw Berry painted her whole body green with a bunch of Twizzy's Nuked Green hair dye, to resemble the green wicked witch. "What? But-" Sunny said. "Now I really look like Elphaba, the wicked witch!" Berry said. "Yes, you do. I just wish you would've told me before you put that paint on. Sunny, don't get any ideas about-" Mango said, but it was too late, since she left presumably to put this paint on. "Sunny?" Mango asked. Sunny came out, all painted green just like Berry. "Now I look like Elphaba too!" Sunny said as she showed herself off. "Oh dear," Mango said. "Such a copycat!" Berry told Sunny. "Well, I'm going to go upstairs and see if I can fly on my broomstick!" Sunny said as she went upstairs. "Me too!" Berry said as she did the same thing. "Be careful, please!" Mango called from down below.

"You fly first, then me," Sunny said. "Easy! You ready?" Berry asked. "Ready!" Sunny answered. "I'm flying high, defying gravity!" Berry sang out loud. "Can we do it without the singing, please?" Sunny asked. Berry sang a high note and hopped off her bed to try to fly. "Uh oh," Berry said, as she crashed to the ground, but at least she wasn't terribly hurt as it was a short distance. "Ow," Berry said. "Actually, I don't need to fly," Sunny said after seeing that. "So you're not scared of spiders?" Kiwi Tiki Wiki asked as she and Patch were coming in the bedroom. "No, Kiwi. Takes quite a bit to scare me," Patch answered as he giggled. Patch got scared of seeing two wicked witches, and screamed and darted away. "Cool costumes, girls!" Kiwi said. "Thanks, Kiwi!" Berry said.

Patch was in the living room, with his eyes closed, as Sunny and Berry, still in their Elphaba costumes, went to go check on him. "Patch, you feeling better now?" Sunny asked. "Not really. Please don't scare me like that again," Patch answered, as he opened his eyes. "How about we make a nice drink for you? Something to calm your nerves," Berry asked. "Oh. Well, thank you, girls, that would be nice," Patch answered. "So we're still going to turn Patch into a frog?" Berry asked as she walked to the kitchen with Sunny. "Yes, and I have the perfect spell!" Sunny answered. "Oh, goody!" Berry said. Patch just looked at Sunny and Berry as they went off, not sure about this whole thing that was gonna happen next.

"What are you girls doing in there?" Patch asked. "Making your drink! Won't be long!" Sunny answered. "Okay then!" Patch said. "With a dollop of lemon chiffon, some Hyper Green, a gummy stick, and Life Savers X's and O's, we'll add in some Citri-Shock syrup and luau punch drizzle. Mix it together to make Patch a frog," Sunny said as she and Berry put the ingredients in and started mixing it all up. "What's taking so long?" Patch asked. "It's ready!" Sunny answered as she brought Patch the cup. "Mmm! Smells nice!" Patch said. "Drink it all up!" Berry said. Patch started drinking up the "special" dirty soda that Sunny and Berry made. "Keep drinking," Sunny said. "What... what is that?" Patch asked. "He's not turning into a frog yet," Berry said as she saw Patch wasn't a frog. "That... that isn't bad, but all the flavors are conflicting," Patch said. "Why isn't it working?" Sunny asked. After Patch drank up, he went to the bathroom. "Wait, we need to see if you turned into a frog!" Berry said.

Sunny and Berry then returned to the island home, no longer in their costumes, as they knocked on the door, and Mango answered it. "Where have you two been?" Mango asked. "I went to take my wicked witch costume to Candy Broomsticks' place," Sunny answered. "You gave it to Candy Broomsticks?" Mango asked. "And I gave mine to Scraps Stitched 'N' Sewn," Berry answered. "What did you do that for?" Mango asked. "We got a bit bored of being the bad witch," Sunny answered. "And being green," Berry added. "Oh, okay," Mango said. "But we would like to go back to Costume Morgue to get Glinda costumes again," Berry said. Mango just looked at the two. "Yeah. We thought it would be nice to-" Sunny said, as Mango just left the two outside, so she won't get them new costumes, as this wicked Lalaloopsy adventure ends right here.
