Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Joining
Chapter Text
Oliva was a goddess, not known by any religion, but still a goddess. She is as old as life on Earth, but looks no older than 25. She had long hair with the bright red and orange of autumn leaves and a yellow highlight, and she wore a blue jacket in order to hide her mark of godlyhood. The VP heard of her from reports of a radiant in NH, USA.
She was in a forest in Derry, NH, playing with some squirrels, relaxing, let her guard down. It was cold, like it usually is for mid-December.
"Hello," she heard someone say, likely Russian based on the accent. "I mean no harm, I simply need you to come with me," he continued. She looked up and saw a guy with white hair; his voice was calming to be fair, but she couldn't trust him yet. Sure, she was a goddess, but she isn't the god of time; she is the goddess of nature. She doesn't know everything that's going to happen. She often wonders how Chronon handles all of that knowledge; they both look quite similar, maybe it's the hair.
"I'm not sure if I should trust you," she said. "Y'know what, I need some more fun in my life, why not!" And so, she said bye to the squirrels she was playing with and followed the man whom she later learned was called Sova.
She joined the Valorant protocol under the alias of Leaf, hiding the fact that she's a goddess, pretending to be a radiant instead. During the physical Sage did, she hid the tree-shaped mark of her godlyhood with makeup; mortals don't know what it means, but there's something about it that makes it look not human. Oliva, callsign Leaf, was made the secondary healer due to her ability to revive others, making Skye the tertiary healer. She prefers to mend life, rather than destroying it.
During Leaf's training for aiming a gun went well. She learns really fast, nearly only headshots on the targets, even the moving ones. She was ready for a mission, and she was both excited and nervous at the same time for it.
Chapter 2: Chapter 2: La Mission
Summary:
Leaf goes on a mission, who knew what would happen after? Certainly, no one in the protocol.
Chapter Text
Today was mission day, and nervousness as well as anticipation filled Oliva's mind. She had already settled in and met everyone; she's really good friends with Skye and Clove. It makes sense since Skye loves nature too and morning runs, just not as early. 6-7 AM is better for runs, especially if the sun is up. And for Clove, it's just another person who shares the trait of immortality. D&D is also very fun.
"Sina ken e ni, Oliva," she said to herself. It translates to 'You got this, Oliva,' but only her and the other gods know that.
"Leaf! It's time to go!" She heard Sage shout from outside her door.
"Coming!" Leaf responded as she went to her door. She exited the room and followed Sage to the VLT/R.
She was on a mission with Jett, Clove, Skye, and Viper. All they needed to do was get some files from a Kingdom facility. It should be easy enough; no one should die, and even if someone died, they would be able to be revived.
Once they were there, Jett entered quickly and shot down several members of Kingdom's security.
"All good to come in!" Jett informed everyone with her typical joyful voice.
Then the others went in and finished the mission easily. There was a surprisingly small amount of security for an active location.
🍂🍁🍂
While on the VLT/R on the way back, Jett asked, "Is it just me, or were there far too few security guards at that site. Also, am I the only person who feels like there's someone watching us?"
Everyone responded with some form of agreement, but Leaf was quiet for a bit longer than everyone else before simply saying, "Yeah, it does. But seriously, why were there so few guards…"
The feeling of eyes on them never left, even after they arrived back at base. Even worse, everyone else felt the eyes on them; some brushed it off, others didn't even sleep that night.

Chapter Text
Oliva ended up staying with Clove that night. Clove couldn't sleep at all. Not that they usually sleep, but it's nice to dream sometimes, and it's also nice to not feel like you're going to pass out from exhaustion.
That morning, after breakfast, Oliva went to the range with Clove and Skye, just to practice and hopefully take their minds off of the feeling of being watched that was still there. Most of the other agents were going on a walk or just in their rooms, so the range was empty. Brimstone, Sage, and Viper were checking on those who were in their room because whatever was going on, it's concerning.
In the middle of the aim practice, the feeling of being watched got stronger, specifically for the trio in the range.
"Something isn't right…" Leaf mumbled. The hood of her jacket was suddenly on her head; she didn't do that.
Then, the feeling of eyes on everyone disappeared, and a girl appeared in front of them; she didn't look older than 18. Could it be Aillian? It had to be, but why?
"Aillian? What are you doing here?" Oliva asked in a demanding tone.
"Oliva! How's it goin', girl!" Aillian said playfully. Her mischief mark of godlyhood on full display on her arm. "Tenpo suno mute pi nanpa luka wan li seme?" She asked, which meant 'how has the last hundred years been?'
"Fine, but WHAT ARE YOU D O I N G HERE!" Oliva exclaimed, more annoyed.
"What was that language she spoke?" Skye asked, nearly yelling the question.
"Why, that was the language of the gods!" Aillian answered before asking, "Has mah friend Oliva here not told yous about her being the goddess of life?"
This is when Viper came running in; she overheard a bit of what was being said, thanks to all of the yelling, including that Leaf was a goddess.
"What's going on here." Viper demanded.
"Why I just decided to catch up with my older sista. What's wrong with that?" Aillian answered. "Besides, she turned 4,200,500,050 yesterday!"
Viper turned to Oliva and said, "Wha— you said you were 24, that's in your files. Also, why did you never mention that you were a goddess."
"Let's just say that people have tried to burn me alive due to being accused of being a witch in the Middle Ages several times due to saying that I was a goddess…" Oliva replied. "Yeah… I need therapy…"
"HA HA! WOO! She finally admits it! My older sista finally admits that she needs therapy!" Aillian impulsively exclaims.
"Not a good thing," Oliva bluntly said as she glared at Aillian before the younger sister looked away shyly, and laughter turned into the nervous kind.
"Okay, why do I have to deal with this today… y'know what, I'm going to make Sage deal with this shit, I ain't doing this today…" Viper said tiredly.

Chapter Text
After everything that had happened the day before, with Aillian revealing that Oliva was a goddess, there was a meeting with Oliva, Viper, and Brim. Oliva tried to get Aillian to come, but she refused.
"So, because of what happened," Brimstone started, "we need to update your file now that we know your real age and that you're a goddess, not a radiant."
"And therapy too," Viper mentioned.
"Yeah… and therapy… I need it, you know it's bad because I'm admitting it," Oliva mumbled.
"I'll see if either Sage or Skye can do it. They both know already, I wouldn't be surprised if Astra knew too, though," Brim said in response.
"Honestly, if we could change my callsign to my real name, I would like that. It wouldn't be that big of a deal for me because it's not like my family doesn't know about this already, they're all gods and goddesses after all," Oliva unintentionally said out loud. The first 2 agents of the Protocol looked at her.
"No," Viper said bluntly.
"Well, you make a really good point," Brim said carefully, "But it could still be a safety risk."
"I did not mean to say that out loud…" Oliva mumbled; the other 2 in the room could still understand what she said, though. "Though it would still be fine, mainly after everyone else learns about me being a god and stuff," she said a bit louder this time.
"Let's consider it at least," Brim said, glaring at Viper for a moment.
"Fine, fine… I'll consider letting it happen," Viper mumbled.
After that, she was allowed to go back to her room and just relax. Obviously, she went to Clove's room instead and hung out with them.
🍂🍁🍂
"So, how did you get your immortality?" Oliva asked.
"Well, it's weird to be honest, I don't really want to explain…" Clove responded.
"That's totally fine, I won't push you," she replied. 'I've learned my lesson about pushing others for answers so, so long ago,' she thought.
"Thanks," they said quietly.
"Ala pilin," Oliva responded.
"What?"
Oliva laughed a bit. "No problem!"

Chapter Text
A few days after the meeting with Brim, it was weirdly quiet. Then Clove basically ran into Oliva's room, tears running down their face. Worried, Oliva quickly hugged them, trying to bring some comfort.
"Clove, what's wrong? Are you okay?" She asked both of those so quickly, she almost cut herself off.
"I-I don't know what's going on… somethin's happened. I-I just came back from a mission, and as I was comin' back, I— I saw someone… I-I don' know who it was, but he looked kinda like Sova in a way, but there were like, clocks around him, and I was keeping myself from freakin' out. I do see people in the place between life and death, but they're usually like silhouettes, but he wasn't!" Clove told her really quickly.
"Okay, don't freak out more, but I think that person you saw was Chronon, the God of Time," Oliva said gently.
"W-why would he even be there?" Clove asked, still freaking out.
"Well, he wouldn't be there for no reason, going to that place between life and death during 'death' is a trait of gods, maybe you're a god but just don't know it," Oliva explained.
"Could that also be why that language that you, Aillian, and that guy you think was Chronon spoke felt familiar?" Clove asked, thinking about everything that had happened in their life. They pulled up their sleeve just enough to reveal a slightly glowing mark that looks like a pointer finger over a mouth, like saying 'shh'. "Could that also explain this mark I've always had?"
"Clove, that doesn't mean you could be a god; that means that you are a god," Oliva explained with some more energy than during the rest of the conversation. "And from what the mark looks like, you could be the god of secrets."
"That's what the mark means? My parents always told me to hide it regardless of the circumstances…" Clove said quietly. "Well, now that we both know that, erm, my real name is Ollie Baird… think I should tell you that."

Chapter Text
Today, there was a meeting to explain what had happened in the past few days. Sage is also now aware that Clove is also a god, so it's going to be fun explaining the fact that there are 2 gods on the VALORANT Protocol.
"mi lon pona. jan ante li ken ala pilin ike tawa mi. mi ante taso en mi pi mute pi sike mun," Oliva mumbled to herself several times before going into the room. She was the first in there other than Brimstone. Translated, it means 'I'm going to be fine, they're not going to hate me, I'm just different and a few billion years old.'
About a minute later, Clove came in and sat down next to Oliva, and after a few more minutes, all of the other agents were there too. Everyone from Brimstone to Veto (+ Oliva).
"So, I'm sure you're all wondering why I had you all come here for a meeting today," Brimstone started. Everyone else nodded; they weren't given details on why, which is unusual. "Well, there is some new information on both Leaf and Clove. To start with, both of them are gods." Everyone looked at them in shock.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, I'm sorry, what? 2 gods?" Jett asked quickly, shocked.
"Yes, we are gods. But we only found out that Clove is one like 2 days ago," Oliva confirmed. She then looked at Brim and asked, "Also, have I gotten approval to change my callsign yet?"
"Yes," he answered simply.
"Okay, thank you," Oliva responded.
"Why are you changing your callsign? Leaf is just fine," Jett asked.
"Well, it'll be my actual name. I really don't feel the need to hide it, I don't have anything to lose after all," Oliva explained. "It's Oliva, by the way."
"That's a really cool name!" Jett exclaimed, "What's your last name if you don't mind me asking?"
"I don't have one, I didn't even have a name for like a million years. I started introducing myself with it not that long ago, like 5,000 years—," she explained before getting cut off by Harbor.
"5,000 years is a long time; how is that recent?" He asked.
"Well, my perception of time is different from you all because I've been alive for like, um, 4.2 billion years," she explained, and managed to finish this time. She fidgeted with her sleeve, like, bringing it up slightly before pulling it back down. Then, Oliva did something she never thought she would while here, she took off her jacket. She was wearing a short-sleeve shirt under it, and it showed her goddess mark on her upper arm, and pointed to it. "This is my mark that shows that I'm a god. Clove has one too."
Everyone was speechless from that. There wasn't much talking for the rest of the meeting, mostly an awkward silence. It went pretty well though; almost everyone is okay with 2 gods in the Protocol.
Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Lady Death
Summary:
It was a good day so far, no missions, she could just relax, but decided to go to the range, reading the same book over and over again can be fun if it's really good, but it can get repetitive.
Oliva was in the range by herself; it was quiet… until it wasn't.
Notes:
new chapter + new god
few details abt them; name is Khristiana, goddess of death, she/they
ship coming soon! next chapter maybe
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
A few weeks have passed, and Oliva has officially changed her callsign to Oliva. There was still a bit of distrust between a few agents and Oliva. A few missions had happened, minimal casualties, and Oliva has been on most of the missions with deaths, so she's been the one who revives her fallen allies.
It was a good day so far, no missions, she could just relax, but decided to go to the range, reading the same book over and over again can be fun if it's really good, but it can get repetitive.
Oliva was in the range by herself; it was quiet… until it wasn't.
"Oliva, I must speak with you for a moment," Oliva heard someone say as they faded in. It was Khristiana, Goddess of Death and the Underworld. She was also deminonbinary, demigirl.
"What do you have to talk to me about?" Oliva asked.
"You have been disrupting the deaths of your friends. You of all people should know that all life must come to an end," Khristiana explained.
"There is a mission here, and you should also know how hard it is to let go… here, we prevent more cities from going into the sky because the Spike Omega Earth uses does that for some reason," Oliva explained. "New agents can't be constantly coming; we need to keep the ones there are already."
"But it hurts you! That's the other reason I'm here, reviving hurts you. I can't let you hurt yourself to help others. I'm your sister, I care about you!" Khristiana exclaimed, her mark in the shape of a skull on her neck pulsing a deep blue color.
"I'm fine with doing it though, Khris. I care about my friends. I know I said I wouldn't get attached to any more mortals, but it's hard," she didn't even realize she started to cry.
Khristiana pulled her into a tight hug, letting her cry into her shoulder.
"mi pakala, Khris…" Oliva managed to say through her sobs, translating to "I'm sorry, Khris".
"Don't apologize, Olive," Khristiana told her, "I love you, okay? We're twins, I know when you're hurting."
"Love you too."
Notes:
i randomly decided to make Khristiana and Oliva twins while writing this
ill also give yall a few days to guess what the ship will be (other than Killjoy/Raze bc that is canon so its canon here too)
hint: it involves Oliva
