Tom jolted awake, his head snapping up from the pillow. He saw the sunlight seeping through the curtains, squinting hard and groaning, and it glowed onto Alex's back. Oh yeah, Tom thought. I'm at a sleepover. He pushed himself up and rubbed his eyes, yawning while doing so.
Tom looked down at Alex's sleeping body, and snorted once he heard the faint snores of his best friend. He considered for a moment, stretching his back and then returning to normal, and then poked Alex's cheek.
"Hey. Heyyy. Alex, Wake up..!" Tom whispered loudly, poking him repeatedly. Alex still hadn't woken up, so Tom stopped poking him. He put a finger on his chin, thinking for a moment before sitting up and giving Alex slight pushes. "Hey, Alex, wake up!" He sang, giggling a bit, but the boy still hadn't woken up.
"Alex, wake up!!" Tom persisted on, still attempting to awake the spy. In his mind, he was thinking; Shouldn't spies be light sleepers?.
Tom stopped pushing Alex and he let his arms fall to his sides. He was thinking of ways to wake Alex up. Cooking pans? That would be too loud and Jack would scold him. Shouting in Alex's ear? Tom would be too tired to be loud and Jack would ask what was wrong. Steal the duvet? He knew Alex doesn't wake up by the cold.
Tom pondered different ideas, and then he finally came up with one that would definitely annoy Alex but would 100% wake him up.
He sighed, and then pushed Alex off the bed with only a slight bit of his strength, and Alex hit the ground with a big, fat thud. Tom cackled and smirked in victory, before putting his head on the pillow, and drifted off to sleep. He didn't even know why he wanted to wake up Alex, just to sleep again. Maybe just for the fun of it.
Alex was startled awake as he hit the ground, sitting up. He felt his side ache with a slight pain, and looked up. He was off the bed, and Tom was in the middle of it, sleeping peacefully. Alex looked down, and then connected the dots. Tom literally pushed me off.
He scowled, and then looked smug. If Tom was going to push him off, then he would just pull Tom off the bed! It would be fair anyways.
Alex stood up, brushing the dirt off his arm and thighs and looked down at Tom. He then grabbed the fabric of his sleeve, and pulled him. Alex pulled the boy until he hit the ground, and Tom immediately woke up.
"Ow- Alex- Was that you?!" Tom's face immediately turned a light red and a frowned fell upon it as he rubbed the back of his head. Alex chuckled, "You idiot, that's what you get for pushing me off!"
"Well- that doesn't mean you can do that to me! Mate, you could've given me a concussion!" Tom quipped, standing up and looking into Alex's eyes directly. They stared into eachothers eyes.
"Oh well." Alex shrugged it off, but Tom wasn't letting it go. "Alex—Do you know what I'm about to do?" Tom asked Alex and he shook his head.
"I'm going to.." Tom trailed off, leaving Alex confused, but finishing his sentence. "Tickle you!' Tom's fingers immediately came up to Alex's neck, prickling it and Alex immediately burst into laughter.
"Mate—Tom- Stop!" Alex laughed, gently pushing Tom's hands away from him. Tears welled in his eyes from how much he was cackling like a maniac who conquered the world.
Alex kept guffawing so much, his throat started to hurt, and then Tom finally stopped tickling him. "See? That's what the spy gets for awaking me." Tom teased, slapping Alex's shoulder just gently enough so it wouldn't actually elicit pain.
Alex spoke up. "Wow, you know what? I'm gonna punch you" He joked, lamely hitting his knuckles on Tom's chest. His hand immediately came up to his chest, and dramatically cried out "Oh, the pain! I think.. I'm dying.."
"Amazing acting, you muppet" mocked Alex, and then, Tom punched him back with the same force. "Oh, so you want to play like that then?" And then it went back and forth; punching eachother obviously and the strength got stronger.
Both of them kept giggling and laughing, "Mate, you're never going to defeat me!" Alex jested, but suddenly, he slipped on a sock and, whoops, hit the side of his head on the edge of a drawer and immediately hissed in pain, holding his head and cowered.
The smile on Tom's face immediately subsided, and was replaced with a look of sorry. "Holy shit- Alex, you alright?" marveled Tom, immediately going up to Alex and his hands hovered
"Ah, yeah, probably.." Alex grumbled, walking to the bathroom as Tom followed. He stood in front of the bathroom mirror, and took his hand off his head
He saw a thin line of red, which he assumed to be blood. "Oh.. that's not good, is it?" Tom stated the obvious, his eyebrows furrowing at the sight. "You know, uh.. it'll be fine." assured Alex, laughing it off.
"No, Alex, it won't be fine." Tom immediately denied Alex, his hands grabbing Alex's face to look at the injury more closely. Alex was surprised by this, but he didn't protest. "Do you have any, uhm, what's the word.. Gauze?" Tom inquired.
"Uh, uh-huh..." Alex nodded slowly and his lips parted. He pointed to a basket in the corner of the bathroom. Tom turned his attention to that, and took out the roll of gauze from it.
"Um.. do you have any scissors in here, or-"
"Yep!- uh-huh, there are scissors behind you.." Alex interrupted, and Tom took the scissors. He unrolled the gauze and wrapped it around Alex's parietal ridge, and then cut it.
"You look.. better, I guess.."
"Thanks.." Alex muttered, scratching the back of his neck, and then Tom did the unexpected. Tom went on the tip of his toes, and planted his lips on the area that was injured.
