Warriors wasn’t sure what he was expecting when this quest started. But reuniting with his old other dimension allies was not one of them. He swore he needed a bingo card at this point. Mask, Wind, Medli, Agitha, even Tetra. And now he was seeing Ravio again. Not that he was unhappy to see the cowardly merchant, okay… maybe a little bit. But meeting Hilda and seeing Lorule, it kinda explained a lot. Hilda did not seem to be someone you wanted to be on the bad side of.
But so far they were all on the good side. Sitting in the Queen’s office, discussing their situation. The purple haired ruler taking it surprisingly well. For which, Warriors and Time were grateful for. “I mean we could always dump them to Hyrule.” Hilda suggested calmly, as if she wasn’t saying ‘let’s dump eight well armed men into a different kingdom without warning.’ Which sent the Chain exchanging glances.
“Excuse me, your majesty but that could be taken as a sign of war.” Time spoke up, as politely as he could. Something Hilda seemed confused by for a moment. Before Ravio sighed and reluctantly spoke up.
“Not war, but Link would definitely hit me. Annnnd Zelda would probably throw a chair.” Now that was two sentences he never saw coming from the rabbit merchant. Warriors recalls Ravio mentioning his hero very little. Most vague comments with a mixture of respect and almost confusion. But Zelda throwing a chair? Warriors was used to a Princess in a fight, he fought along Artemis. But a chair?
The others seemed just as lost by that specific mention of furniture. Except Wild and Hyrule, who were now watching with a look. Hyrule with a knowing look, Wild looked like he was two seconds from knowing in a different context. Wild spoke first. “Ravio, you wouldn’t of happened to…. I don’t know, sell magical items to someone in their own home?”
Both Ravio and Hilda did a slow turn to Wild, along with everyone else. All eyes drifting to Wild in confusion. Twilight spoke first. “That’s oddly specific pup..”
“Also strangely accurate. Do you happen to know Mr. Hero?” Ravio asked, Warrior’s mind further breaking. While Hyrule was looking at Wild with a mix of betrayal and shock.
“I think so. So how do we get to Hyrule?” Wild seemed eager, not doing good for the chain’s blood pressure.
Hilda got up, grabbing a bracelet that Warriors remembers Ravio wearing from her desk. Moving a tapestry on the wall aside. Revealing a dark crack in the wall. Flashes of light shining throw it’s thin opening. Something that Warriors swore shouldn’t be possible. “So, anyone ever turn into a painting before?” Hilda asked, clasping the bracelet onto her own wrist.
“I’m sorry what?” Sky spoke up, standing up from his seat. Warriors agreed with that disbelief. But Hilda and even Ravio seemed calm. Which was saying something because Ravio didn’t freak out over something.
“You need to turn into a painting to go through the rift.” Could this day get any weirder?
