Chapter Text
It's been a month since the death of his father. Ever since Gabriels death Adrien hasn't been thinking well. His mind was a mess of good memories and bad memories. Everyday was a struggle. He was confused. He was mad. He was sad. His dad wasn't perfect, far from it but he was still family. Goodness Adrien didnt know what to feel. On top of that lately he has felt more distanced from Ladybug than ever. All the other heroes get to keep their miracles and can help whenever they want, Ladybug is the only one that knows their identities and she decides who she needs at the moment or not. He can't help but feel like he isn't needed anymore.
His life was a mess. He wasnt needed as Chat noir nor as Adrien Agreste. Worse he couldnt talk to anyone about it. No one would understand, no one would even care. After all he was just a rich, blonde conventionally attractive guy people would just think he's complaining and if they didnt think that then they'd think he's ruining the mood with his mopeyness. Sometimes he wished he was anyone else. Like one of those birds outside flying away, soaring with not a care. He was a mess.
Adrien felt his world collapsing before him,well... not all of it. Even
He still had, thankfully, had Marinete. If he could keep her then everything would be fine - that's what he told himself everyday. She was everything he needed, she was his everything literally. He now had no parents and she was now the last person he could feel loved around. Well hopefull-
"Adrien! You're moping by the window again" Plagg said, interrupting Adrien's thoughts as he turned around.
*Sigh*
"I know Plagg I just... nevermind its probably nothing, just overthinking things again"
He sighed as he walked away from the window and plopped himself onto the couch then once again did a dramatically long sigh. Plagg rolled his eyes, used to this and sighed, looking at Adrien with worried caring eyes. He knew the guy was suffering but didn't know how to help and all he had was his dumb jokes and goofiness but that wouldnt solve this... unless?
Then he got an idea. "See that's your problem" He exclaimed flying around to his face with a smirk ignoring Adrien's groan. "you think to much, C'mon lets play piano"
Adrien groaned once more but stood up and made way to the piano where Plagg was. He sat down. Plagg started a calm playful melody. Goodness it brought Adrien memories... Of when his father forced him to play piano but also good ones of the rare times he'd join him. Then he began playing. The too started dueting the entertainer, a lively song that even somehow managed to bring a smile to little sad boy Adrien.
They play the ballad and as they are about to near the climax Adrien's phone suddenly starts ringing. He immediately stops playing and runs to the phone, his heart beating fast.
"hey what the heck" Plagg complains in the back round. He then saw who it was. Adrian smiled, causing Plagg to roll his eyes. "what happened to bros before dolls"
"It's marinette" he announced and picked up the phone.
"Hi, just wanted to um say hi.. hi" she said with a big smile nearly robotic. He can hear a few words behind her. It seemed she wasn't alone. His smile falts for a moment before he picks it right up.
"Hey!" He greeted. Waving cutely at her.
She was clearly whispering to someone as he could hear someone clearly encouraging her to speak to him. It wasn't uncommon. Sometimes Adrien had the gnawing feeling Marinette didn't like him since she'd only indulge with him when a 3rd party was actively encouraging her or forcing her.
He shook his head. Nope, not a thought for today stupid brain - he thought.
"HI! um so.. I was just um thinking hey what if we hung out together like sometime, you know since we're you know in a you know"
He chuckled. goodness she could be so silly sometimes. "in a relationship?" he joked. She blushed and just nodded with a couple of gibberish words of agreement.
"I'd love to go on a date. that be perfect actually." Encouraged or not, he loved the idea of spending time with Marinette. His heart fluttered and he couldn't wait.
"OH! really?"
"Absolutely, marinette. i'm your boyfriend remember"
"Hehehe yeah. sorry. So this Saturday we meet up?"
"yep its a date"
"Uhuh oh um oh yeah sure like totally a-a d- date. because we're dating and stuff and girlfriends and boyfriends go on dates and stu-"
Then the phone turned to alya. and she just sighed amusused at it all.
"Marinette is very pleased to go on a date with you... she can't wait right?"
The phone turned to Marinette and she was nodding aggressively.
"Tell her I can't wait either. see you on saturday then its a date" He said before they hanged up on him. He plopped himself on the couch and sighed dreamily.
