Work Text:

Last year Tommy didn’t get to see the snow. He went on vacation to fucking Florida because his brother, Wilbur, was a pussy and wanted to escape the cold.

On the other hand Tommy and Techno, his other brother, loved winter. Although they both had much different reasons.

Tommy loved the snow because he liked to actually go outside and do shit in it, like make snow angels or go sledding with his friends

Techno on the other-hand preferred to stay indoors, read by the fire, drink hot cocoa, and chill in big wooly sweaters.

This meant Techno hadn’t quite minded being in Florida that much, as long as a he got to stay inside and read.

It was not fine for Tommy however, he did in fact mind, lot actually. It had been almost two fucking years since he’d seen the snow for fucks sake!

So when Tommy woke up that morning only to be met with a soft layer of snow blanketing the grass, he was fucking ecstatic.

The snow wasn’t quite thick enough yet that all the grass was obscured and some of it would probably be melted by the end of the day, but he didn’t really mind.

He was just excited to see the white flakes falling gracefully through the air.

Immediately he was out of his bed, bounding down the hallway, and flying down the stairs two steps at a time.

Phil was reading a book at the table, his eyes shot up as Tommy reached the bottom of the stairs. “My god, I thought you had fallen with all that noise mate. What’s got you in such a rush you’re willing to give an old man a heart attack?”

“Dad! It’s snowing!” Tommy shouts, not wasting another second as he barrels towards the coat closet and pulling out a blue downy puffer jacket.

“I’m aware— hey, hey, hey! Tommy! Don’t forget your hat and gloves you gremlin! I can’t have you catching a cold or god forbid fucking frostbite on my watch!” Phil calls after the energetic boy.

The boy rolled his eyes at that. There was still hardly any real snow. It was definitely not cold enough for frostbite just yet, but for his father’s peace of mind Tommy reaches up and grabs a small plastic tote from the top shelf.

“I GOT IT!!!!” Tommy yelled back as he sifted around before pulling his hat and gloves out of a box, waving them above his head like a trophy.

A thumbs up is casually thrown his way by Phil and Tommy takes that as his cue to dart out the door.

Floof, their white little terrier dog, gets up intending to dart after the teen, but before she can quite reach the door strong arms are scooping her up and ‘tsking’ at her disapprovingly.

“Techno!” Didn’t expect you to be up this early. Phil smiles, pleasantly surprised at his oldest son’s appearance.

In response Techno huffs. “The tornado that came barreling down our staircase this morning woke me up pretty quickly.”

“He was excited about the snow. I think he really missed seeing it since we didn’t last year.” Phil snickers fondly as he rethinks his youngest’s antics from earlier.

Techno’s gaze flickers towards the entrance hall. “He left the door open.” He shook his head with feigned annoyance.

The subtle smile on his face however, outed him right away.

“Maybe you should go out there with him. I’m sure that would make his day even better. That boy’ll never admit it but he really does admire his big brother.” Phil side eyes the big brother in question knowingly.

Another, more exaggerated huff left Techno and he moved to hand Floof over to Phil. The man eagerly takes the fluffy puppy and shoos Techno out the door.

“Oh! Techno, remember to wear your gloves and hat! Tommy’ll want to be out there a while.” Phil smiles smugly.

Techno already feels the defeat settling into his bones.

At least he remembers to shit the door, unlike a certain mischievous blonde brother of his.

When Tommy locks eyes with his older brother he immediately perks up. Nothing excited him more than hanging out with ‘The Blade’ a nickname Tommy had coined for the man due to his abnormally good fencing skills.

“I’m here to play in the falling snow with you Thes. Now what is it you request we do?” Techno raises an eyebrow expectantly.

“Techno, I want to build a mother fucking snowman.” The blonde grins.

A snowman it is then. “Not a lot of snow for that.”

“Then they’ll just have to look a bit fucked up. We could make snow angels too!”

“Let’s do that first, so we have enough snow for the snowman.” The pink haired man suggests.

Tommy beamed brighter than ever. “Smart you are Tech-no-blade!”

With that Tommy flopped onto the ground, and promptly got the wind knocked out of him. Now Techno just couldn’t hold back, he cackled as the boy sputtered.

“Not enough snow for you to do that comfortably Thes.” Techno gets out between his choked laughter.

“Could’ve warned me before, dickhead.” The rabid teen shook his fist angrily at the soldier of a man he called his brother standing above him.

“Even if I could’ve it was much more enjoyable for me to watch you learn that the hard way.” Techno crossed his arms with another one of his fond smirks gracing his usually deadpan face.

A scowl crossed Tommy’s face, probably not for the first time since Techno came to join him outside. “Fuck you, bitch.”

An affronted look crossed Techno’s face, but he soon just sighed. “You know you love me.”

Tommy looked up, as if to moll the question over a bit before his eyes landed back on his older brother with a smug smile.

“Only on Tuesdays.” The blonde rolled his eyes in annoyance.

“Heh??? Wha— Tommy— What does that even mean?” The man spluttered in offense.

“Techno Tuesdays.” Was Tommy’s only reply.

A snowball promptly splatters across the younger’s face, courtesy of his older brother.

Maybe Techno does like playing in the snow with Tommy.

Just a little bit.
