Work Header

He Studies in Public and Destroys Me in Private

Summary:

Everyone thinks Taehyung is the calm, quiet topper who minds his business and probably apologizes to tables
Everyone thinks Jungkook is the tattooed biker menace who causes 90% of campus chaos.

Everyone is wrong
Or at least… only Jungkook knows how wrong.

Notes:

I wrote this because I’m chronically obsessed with the trope where the quiet one is secretly the freakiest one.
Also: they are stupidly in love.

Jeon Jungkook — bratty biker boy, tattooed menace

Kim Taehyung — silent topper, dangerously controlled, secretly insane in bed

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Kim Taehyung was the kind of student professors quietly adored. He didn’t speak much in class, didn’t try to impress anyone, didn’t sit in the first row or volunteer to answer questions. He simply existed pen moving steadily across paper, brows furrowed in concentration, grades consistently topping the department. He wasn’t loud, he wasn’t flashy, and he didn’t seem the type who even knew what chaos looked like.

Which is precisely why no one ever believed Jeon Jungkook.

“Hyung is freaky,” Jungkook told people. Repeatedly. Dramatically.
“He looks all serious and saint-like but he will ruin you. Don’t fall for that front.”

Everyone laughed at him. Every single time.

Because Jungkook’s reputation was exactly the opposite.

He was the brat.

The tattooed troublemaker.

The guy who rode into campus on a black bike that roared loud enough to be heard from the engineering block. The guy who rolled up to his 8 AM lectures with helmet hair, leather jacket thrown over one shoulder like he owned the place. The one who smirked through half his classes and slept through the rest, then magically scored high enough to piss off people who actually tried.

Jungkook was a walking red flag beautiful, cocky, annoyingly charming.

And Taehyung? He was quiet.

Which is why everyone assumed Jungkook was the chaos in their relationship.

Everyone. Except Taehyung.

Because when the lecture ended and Taehyung closed his notebook, Jungkook’s bratty mouth shut fast.

By 4 PM the campus was buzzing students spilling out of classes, heading to clubs, cafés, or their miserable study groups. Jungkook wasn’t interested in any of that. He leaned against his bike, twirling his keys, waiting.

He saw Taehyung before Taehyung saw him.

Tall, brown sweater, hair falling softly over his forehead, backpack slung neatly. A quiet aura. A calm one. A deceiving one.

Jungkook smirked.

Perfect.

Taehyung walked past a group of students who immediately whispered.

“There goes golden boy.”

“He probably topped this exam too.”

“He looks like he reads ethics books for fun.”

Jungkook rolled his eyes.
If only they knew.

“Baby,” he called out when Taehyung reached him.

Taehyung looked up, startled for half a second he always looked slightly soft when transitioning from study mode to Jungkook mode, like he had to remind himself that the world outside equations existed.

“Helmet,” Taehyung said instead of greeting.

“A kiss first,” Jungkook grinned.

“Kiss later. Helmet now.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

Taehyung lifted one brow. “Jungkook.”

And that tone low, unamused, warning went straight down Jungkook’s spine.

He snapped the helmet on immediately.

Taehyung hid a smile.

Brat tamed.

Successful.

The bike ride wasn’t long, but Jungkook always drove slowly because Taehyung’s arms around him were addictive. Soft, warm, steady.

“You’re gripping too tight,” Jungkook shouted over the wind.

“You’re swerving too much.”

“I’m driving normally-”

“You’re showing off.”

“Maybe.”

Taehyung’s fingers dug into Jungkook’s waist.

“Focus.”

Jungkook muttered, “In public you act like my dad. At home you-”

Taehyung said nothing back. But Jungkook could feel the shift in his grip. The subtle squeeze.

Fuck.

He was in trouble.

Taehyung’s apartment was neat. Predictably so. Books lined the shelves in alphabetical order. His bed was always made. His desk organized. His clothes folded with surgical precision.

“You’re early,” Taehyung said, placing his bag down.

Jungkook shrugged off his jacket, revealing inked forearms, tattoos peeking under his sleeve and collar.

“I missed you,” he said casually.

Taehyung paused.

Jungkook rarely said that without wanting something.

“What did you do?” Taehyung asked.

“What makes you think I did something?”

“You’re being sweet.”

“Wow.”

Taehyung crossed his arms. “What did you break? Who did you annoy? Did you get another warning from the dean-?”

“That was one time,” Jungkook protested.

Taehyung gave him a look.

“Okay maybe more than one time but...whatever, hyung.”
He stepped closer.
“Maybe I just want attention today.”

Taehyung raised a brow. Jungkook bit his lip.

Taehyung knew that expression.

Brat mode.

Activated.

Jungkook sprawled across Taehyung’s bed as if it belonged to him, legs spread, shirt riding up. He pulled out his phone, scrolling through something with the kind of deliberate arrogance he knew Taehyung hated.

“You have an assignment,” Taehyung reminded.

“You’ll help me.”

“I have my own work.”

“You always help me.”

Taehyung inhaled. “Jungkook.”

“What?”

“Get up.”

“No,” Jungkook sing songed.

Taehyung approached slowly.

Dangerously.

Jungkook pretended not to notice.
He scrolled.
And scrolled.

Until Taehyung sat beside him on the bed.

Jungkook stiffened slightly.

Taehyung reached out slow, gentle and wrapped his fingers around Jungkook’s ankle.

Jungkook’s breath hitched.

Shit.

Not good.

Well… good.
But not safe.

“Are you planning to be obedient today,” Taehyung asked softly, “or are you going to test me?”

Jungkook blinked.

Taehyung rarely used that tone in daylight. The tone that promised consequences.

“I-  maybe I’m just relaxing?” Jungkook tried.

“Are you?”

“Yeah.”

“On my bed.”

“Yes…”

“With your shoes on.”

Jungkook froze.
Looked down.

Fuck.

Oops.

He slowly lifted one foot, then the other, unsure whether to apologize or smirk.

Taehyung removed the shoes for him.

Silently.

Jungkook gulped.

Silence was worse than anger.

“Hyung…”

Taehyung didn’t look up.

“You’re being weird.”

“Am I?” Taehyung asked.

“Yes.”

Taehyung finally met his eyes.

Calm.
Collected.
Dangerously quiet.

“You asked for attention. I’m giving it.”

Jungkook’s breath stuttered.

“Come here.”

Taehyung didn’t raise his voice. Didn’t pull. Didn’t demand.
Just waited.

Which somehow made Jungkook crawl into his lap without a second thought.

Taehyung’s hands rested on Jungkook’s hips, warm and firm.

“Now,” Taehyung murmured, “tell me why you were acting like a spoiled child.”

“I wasn’t-”

“Jungkook.”

“…Fine. I was bored.”

Taehyung hummed. “Bored.”

“And you were studying.”

“So you decided to be annoying.”

Jungkook shrugged.
“Maybe.”

Taehyung tipped Jungkook’s chin up.

“You want my attention?” he asked slowly.

Jungkook nodded.

“Then ask nicely.”

Jungkook blinked. “Nicely?”

“Yes.”

“No.”

Taehyung smiled dangerously.
“Wrong answer.”

Jungkook felt a shiver bolt through him.

This was exactly the side no one believed existed.

Topper Taehyung.

Quiet Taehyung.

Decent student Taehyung.

Who held Jungkook’s jaw like he owned it.

Who made Jungkook fold faster than any exam paper.

Taehyung leaned close.
“Last chance. Ask nicely.”

Jungkook swallowed hard.

“…Hyung,” he whispered.

“Not enough.”

“Taehyung...”

“Try again.”

“Please.”

Taehyung’s grip tightened just slightly, satisfaction flickering in his eyes.

“There you go,” he murmured.

Jungkook flushed.

Taehyung kissed him softly first deceptively soft, a gentle brush of lips that didn’t match the grip on his hips. Jungkook whined and fisted Taehyung’s sweater.

And that’s when Taehyung flipped him.

One second Jungkook was sitting, and the next he was on his back, breath punched out, Taehyung above him, caging him in.

Jungkook’s eyes widened.

Taehyung’s voice was velvet smooth.

“You wanted attention. Now you have it.”

If people saw this side of Taehyung, Jungkook would never be allowed to talk again.

Because Taehyung wasn’t just freaky.

He was precise.

The same precision he used for exams, he used on Jungkook. Every touch calculated. Every whisper purposeful. Every kiss placed exactly where Jungkook would break fastest.

“Hyung-” Jungkook gasped when Taehyung’s mouth traced down his neck.

“Quiet,” Taehyung murmured against his skin.

“You said I wanted attention-”

“I’m giving you attention,” Taehyung interrupted, smoothing his hair back with a gentleness that contradicted everything else.
“But if you want more…”
His fingers brushed Jungkook’s collar, tracing the tattoo ink there.
“You’ll behave.”

Jungkook almost laughed.

Almost.

But Taehyung’s thumb pressed into his waist just enough to shut him up.

“Good boy.”

Jungkook’s brain short circuited.

Somewhere between soft kisses and Taehyung’s mouth on his throat, Jungkook’s bratty attitude dissolved.

His hands tugged at Taehyung’s sweater.

“Off.”

“Ask nicely.”

Jungkook groaned. “Hyung, please…”

The sweater came off instantly.

Taehyung wasn’t built like Jungkook. He didn’t go to the gym religiously. But he was lean, toned enough that Jungkook always stared too long.

“See something you like?” Taehyung teased.

“No,” Jungkook lied. Badly.

Taehyung smirked.

Jungkook was done for.

Minutes blurred.

Clothes shifted.

Breaths mingled.

Taehyung’s fingers threaded into Jungkook’s hair, grounding him whenever he arched too hard or lost control too fast. He kissed Jungkook like he had all the time in the world, slow but claiming.

And Jungkook a brat, rider, walking trouble turned to absolute mush under him.

“Hyung-”

“You’re being loud.”

“You’re making me loud-”

“So you’re blaming me?”

“I—no—fuck- ”

Taehyung chuckled against his skin.

Which was so unfair.

Because in public, Taehyung was polite.

Respectful.

The guy who thanked cafeteria staff and held doors open.

No one would believe he was hovering over Jungkook right now, whispering sinful things into his ear as Jungkook’s entire body trembled.

But Jungkook loved it.

Loved being the only one who knew this side.

Loved that Taehyung saved it for him.

Loved how Taehyung controlled the moment quiet, steady, confident in a way that didn’t need shouting.

“Hyung, please...”

“Good. Keep begging.”

Jungkook whimpered.

By the time Taehyung finally let him rest, Jungkook was a mess hair wild, shirt half off, breathing uneven.

Taehyung wiped sweat from Jungkook’s forehead with surprising tenderness.

“Better?” he asked.

Jungkook glared weakly. “You’re evil.”

Taehyung laughed softly. “You asked for attention.”

“Not that kind.”

“You didn’t complain.”

Jungkook’s ears burned.

Taehyung lay down beside him, pulling Jungkook into his chest. Jungkook melted instantly, throwing a leg over him.

“You’re dangerous,” Jungkook muttered.

“And you’re dramatic.”

“No one believes me when I tell them what you’re like.”

“That’s because they see me studying,” Taehyung replied, fingers playing with Jungkook’s hair.
“Not here.”

“Show them.”

Taehyung snorted. “Absolutely not.”

“Please?”

“No.”

“I hate you.”

“Mhm.”

Jungkook shoved his face into Taehyung’s neck and whined. “Hyung, they think I’m lying.”

Taehyung kissed the top of his head.

“Let them.”

“But..”

Taehyung tipped Jungkook’s chin up.
“I don’t need to prove anything to them,” he said quietly.
“You know what I’m like. That’s enough.”

Jungkook softened instantly.

Fine. Maybe he melted.

“Still,” Jungkook muttered, “they think you’re some innocent nerd.”

“I am a nerd.”

“You’re a menace.”

Taehyung smiled, brushing their noses together.

“And you’re mine.”

Jungkook stilled.

Taehyung rarely said stuff like that this openly.

“Yeah,” Jungkook whispered. “I’m yours.”

Taehyung stroked his cheek once, slowly.
“Good.”

They stayed like that for a while Jungkook sprawled on top of Taehyung like a heavy, tattooed blanket, Taehyung tracing shapes along his arm.

“You hungry?” Taehyung finally asked.

“No.”

“You sure?”

“I want cuddles.”

Taehyung sighed, fake dramatic. “You’re so demanding.”

“You love me.”

“I tolerate you.”

“That’s a lie.”

“A little.”

“You love me a lot.”

Taehyung didn’t answer.

He didn’t need to.

His hand tightened around Jungkook’s waist.

“Hyung?”

“Mm?”

“You’ll stay with me, right?”

Taehyung pressed a soft kiss to Jungkook’s temple.

“Always.”

Jungkook’s throat felt warm. Full.

Safe.

He nuzzled Taehyung's chest.
“You’re not as quiet as people think.”

“And you’re not as tough as you pretend.”

Jungkook pouted. “I’m tough.”

“You literally cried because we ran out of chocolate milk yesterday.”

“That was one time-”

“Twice.”

“Whatever,” Jungkook huffed, but he curled closer anyway.

Taehyung laughed quietly.

No one at university would ever believe this scene.

Tattooed biker boy Jungkook lying on top of the campus topper like a clingy puppy.

Quiet, nerdy Taehyung stroking his back like he was the softest thing on earth.

Two opposites perfectly folded into each other.

“I’ll cook later,” Taehyung whispered.

“Okay.”

“Then we’ll work on your assignment.”

Jungkook groaned.

“But first,” Taehyung corrected gently, brushing Jungkook’s hair back,
“you’re going to rest. No more brat behavior today.”

Jungkook mumbled, “Can’t promise.”

“Then I’ll handle you again.”

Jungkook’s breath stuttered.

“…Okay maybe I can promise.”

Taehyung smiled.

“Good boy.”

And Jungkook practically purred.

No one believed him when he said Taehyung was freaky.

But that was fine.

Because this side of Taehyung wasn’t for them.

It was all his.

Only his.

And Jungkook wouldn’t have it any other way.
