Work Text:
Max’s life has been more than great recently if he’s honest with himself. Which. He doesn’t think anyone would actually hate to be in his position, so.
He only goes to work a couple of times a week nowadays, and it’s great. He’ll help Alex take her instagram pictures whenever she needs him to, and Linnet comes with him on their yacht trips when she can make it. He sleeps in the same bed as the two most beautiful people in the entire world, and life has seriously never been better.
And well. It gets even better. Somehow.
-
Max had been in a relationship with Alex and Charles for a little over two years by the time Charles decided to lock them down.
He knew that some sort of engagement conversation would come up. Alexandra had been hinting for a while that she wanted a ring, and Charles isn’t anything if not indulgent when it comes to them.
Max just didn’t know if he would really be involved in all of that…He understands that he is a part of the relationship, but the two of them had been together quite a bit before Max had come onto the scene. Plus, it’s not like marriage is exactly legal between three people. Hell, it’s not even legal between two men in Monaco.
So yeah. He figured it would just be something between the two of them, and he would just kind of stay their third.
He should have known he would be wrong about that.
Charles made dinner one night, but Max didn’t know that until he got home a little later from work. The food wasn’t too bad, and Charles has been getting better at cooking.
So all in all, it was their average night in. That is, until both Alex and Charles started to act all weird. They were obviously leading up to telling him something, and it was making him nervous.
Alex clears her throat, and Max thinks they’re finally going to get to the point. “Max…Charles and I have been talking.”
Which, wait. Are they about to break up with him? This feels like a break up speech.
Before he can overthink too much though, they both grab one of his hands into their own. Charles takes over the speech from that point.
“We know that it’s not a super big deal to you or anything…But Alexandra and I were thinking of engagement. I’ve already gotten her a ring, and we have picked out something for you. It’s obvious that we cannot legally get married as three, but maybe we could be socially married, without the credentials. It’s something we want you to be part of, but we also understand that marriage is not for everyone. We won’t get legally married unless you are also part of it in some way, there's really no point.”
And wow, what a thing to spring on him after such a long shift. He thought that celebrity proposals were grandiose, but this is anything but.
“We wanted to talk with you first, before any true proposal, to make sure that you were on the same page. It is your life that will change the most through this, like always.” Alex says with a hesitant smile, waiting for his response,
He prefers it this way, he thinks.
In his Dutch culture, people rarely get married this early in the relationship. It’s why this is all a bit surprising in a way. He kind of gets it though. For Alex it is different, and Max does want to get married to them.
“Yes, of course. Why would I say no to that? Who do you think I am?” He says with a wide smile.
They both mirror it, and tackle him to the ground. He laughs at their reaction, and wraps his arms around them.
-
That night he learned some truly frightening news.
Alexandra was snuggled up against his side when she dropped the bomb. “We will need to go shopping and get you a nice outfit for when we stage engagement photos. Charles will be in charge of the staging, he is the one proposing after all. It’s our job to look good for pictures.”
Charles chuckles from his place on Max’s other side, he knew how Max would react to that information. “Seriously? We have to do a whole photoshoot for the world to see?”
Alex scoffed at his question, and squeezed Max’s side in response. “Obviously, I need to show off my boys. Besides, it will make things official.”
Max rolls his eyes with a side, but it’s really just for show. “Fine, whatever.”
-
So Max got dragged to one of the fancy shops in Monaco for Alexandra to dress him while Charles was away in Maranello for the next few days.
It was meant to be proposal shopping, but Oscar and his girlfriend, Lily, ended up tagging along on some sort of double date? He doesn’t know how this cheeky kid keeps on ending up weasling his way into Max’s life, but Max keeps letting it be.
Oscar already has that pseudo-child thing with Max (and Charles and Alex kind of), so it’s no surprise that Oscar is the one person on the grid that knows of the soon-to-be engagement. At least on Max’s end. He thinks that Carlos and Rebecca may know as well.
Either way, he has to dress up for the three of them as they judge the way he stands. Alex will pose him as she likes, and Lily or Oscar will give their opinions.
It’s hours until they finally settle on a shirt and pair of pants; the entire time Alex compares whatever she’s put on him to the dress she will be wearing for pictures. She will look beautiful in it of course, so Max will endure this torture until she’s satisfied with the outfit chosen.
All three of them do agree on something eventually though, so they finally go get some food.
Max always feels like an absolute bum when he goes out with the rich. He never pays for his own meals, and he would never be able to in the first place.
Oh well. Oscar pays for dinner that evening.
-
Max took Linnet out for lunch one day to tell her the news. They haven't been able to get together and talk as much recently.
Linnet has a girlfriend now, and Max has been going to more and more Grand Prixs. They see each other at work, but that’s work so it doesn’t count.
He decides that he will make more time for her in the future. She’s his best friend after all.
But as soon as they sit down she is giving him a look. “What happened? Something big?” She’s asking with a smile. “You’re practically glowing.”
Max can feel heat rise to his cheeks. Is he really that obvious?
“Well. Alex and Charles brought up engagement recently…Well, they basically proposed.”
Max didn’t know how she would react to that, but she practically stands with how quickly her posture straightens up. “Holy fuck, really?? You said yes, right?!”
Max laughs at her reaction, and nods quickly. “Of course, I mean, Do you think I would say no?”
“Well, no, but how could I be sure?”
The rest of their lunch is spent talking about proposal stuff, and Linnet’s new girlfriend. Max’s wish was granted, and Linnet found someone on the wealthier side of things. Though, Max has never met her. He has an inkling that Linnet is a mistress to some rich man’s wife, but he won't say anything about that until he thinks she’s in some trouble over it or something.
All in all it was good to see her, and it was good to get her input on some things, even if her advice can sometimes be shit.
-
Max doesn’t necessarily think that he belongs in the luxury life, or even the racing life.
He wouldn't be anywhere near any of it if not for divine intervention.
It’s why he’s still unused to people recognizing him in public, or how many instagram followers he has. He doesn't know if he will ever be used to it.
It’s moments like these though, that remind him why he doesn’t mind it.
Charles had told them to get dressed in their clothes as he set up the whole proposal, and Max is curious. He and Alex don’t actually know what he has planned, and he guesses that’s the fun of it. Even with how manufactured the entire thing is, Charles still wants their first reaction to himself.
So there Max and Alex are. Waiting. He helped her with getting her dress on and fitted, even if she definitely didn’t need it. In return she did his hair and trimmed his stubble for him. Neither she nor Charles like him clean shaven, so they would never allow it for proposal pictures.
He knows why Charles didn’t also have to deal with Alex beatifying him, but he still grumbles about it. Once they’re both finally all dressed and ready, Max and Alex wait for Charles to be finished with his preparations. They hold each other for most of it; emotions running rampant due to the obvious.
Charles comes into the room a bit later, a wide grin on his face. He seems to be proud of whatever he’s cooked up for them. The grin doesn’t last long though, no. It melts into something fond, and intimate.
“How did I charm the two most beautiful people in the world?” He asks, and cups Max's cheek, just the same as he does with Alex.
Max would have said something snarky if not for the emotions swelling in his chest at the words. Fuck, Charles hasn’t even gotten to the actual proposing yet, and Max can feel the tears filing his eyes. This is so stupid. He already knows it’s coming, but his emotions are still getting the best of him.
He doesn’t let the tears fall though, no. They have pictures to take after all.
Charles kisses them both, and then drags them towards their living room. Max’s curiosity has peaked, and he eagerly follows along.
When they enter the room, there's rose petals everywhere. They lead into a heart, and Max thinks that it’s the most cliche thing he’s seen in his entire life.
Then he notices the more personalized stuff with it. There's cookie cake things cut out with their initials, and the date of their engagement on them.
Alex seems to love it, because she’s beaming. Charles doesn’t seem to be done yet though. In fact, he looks like he’s about to blow their minds.
He calls Leo and Jimmy over to pick them up and oh my god, he didn’t.
But he did. He gives Leo to Alex and Jimmy to Max, and right there on the collar, what does it say? ‘Dad wants to marry you!’
It’s so corny, ugh. Max is so in love with this idiot it’s embarrassing.
Then Charles pulls out a couple of rings, and fuck. He’s certain that everyone will be able to tell that Alexandra is taken. As for Max, he’s happy that they didn’t get him something too clunky. It’s got diamonds around the band, and Max didn’t need something so expensive. He doesn’t think that Charles wouldn’t do any less, so.
Charles brings the attention back to himself easily, with his cheeky grin. “Well? Will you two marry me?”
Alex grins back, and Max can tell that she’s loving this entire thing. “You’re so dumb.” And then she’s kissing all over his face. Max watches fondly, and can’t help but think all sorts of sappy things for these two.
Max joins the embrace and leaves a light kiss on Charles’ neck, Before more can happen though, there’s a knock on their front door.
Max puts the ring on before they let Antoine in, mentally preparing himself for the photoshoot that is about to happen.
-
Quickly after that is when the pictures start and Max doesn’t necessarily dissociate, but he’s not really paying attention either, He lets himself be positioned as Alex would like, and keeps his expression happy and joyful. He is those things, so it’s not too hard. Just…ugh. Max hates this part of dating a Formula 1 driver. Well, he guesses it's more Alexandra’s fault they’re doing this than it is Charles’s.
He would do most things for their happiness though, so he will deal with it.
Once the pictures are taken Max thinks that Alex will be happy with them, so he is happy with them.
-
The night is less than pure after Antoine leaves to edit the proposal pictures.
Max eats some of the desserts that Charles had gotten for the proposal and he was surprised when they actually tasted good. He doesn’t know why he expected them to taste like shit, but they didn’t.
He kind of expected to be out of these clothes and asleep by the end of the hour, but when he sees the look in Alex and Charles’s eyes he knows that only one of those things will be happening.
“Max…” Alexandra starts with a faux-innocent expression on her face. “I want to…take charge tonight, if that is okay?”
Oh, it’s like that?
Usually when she says something like that it means she wants to use her strap on him. Which, he actually doesn’t think he will ever be opposed to that. If he ever says no…? Beat him over the head with a fryer.
He just nods his head so she knows that he is perfectly okay with that.
-
When they do this, it is always Charles who preps him. Alex’s long nails are too big of an obstacle. None of them are opposed to this way of doing things, so it’s how it will probably always be.
Alex plays with his chest as Charles sticks a few fingers inside of him. He doesn’t know how he got these two so infatuated with him, but gives thanks for it everyday.
Charles leans over and kisses Alex, and then leans down and kisses Max. “My future Leclercs…”
How can he be so sappy as he has his fingers up Max’s ass? He will never know. But Max adores that part of him, and he flushes even darker at the words.
Alex leans down and kisses Max’s cheeks. “Charles shoo. It’s my turn.” And then he is empty and pouting about it.
Alexandra always looks so good with the harness around her hips. And they have a couple of dildos, but ironically the bright red one is the one Max likes the best.
Alex’s delicate hands push his thighs further apart, and he feels the silicone brush against his hole. She smiles at him, and he breathes out, and then in. She pushes the toy inside of him slowly, and Charles holds his hips down so he doesn’t wiggle too much.
She doesn’t do this super often, but it’s enough that she knows exactly how to angle the toy to hit his sweet spot. Every time she moves he’s a moaning mess, and he can feel the harness against his ass.
The thing is, Max never lasts long. Never has and probably never will. It’s pretty embarrassing if he’s honest, but his two fiances love it about him.
So, yeah. It’s no surprise that he comes very quickly, and it’s no surprise that the sight of him has the two above him groaning. “Fuck, Max. You’re so hot like this.”
Alexandra pulls out of him a bit later, and Max still feels like he needs more. Maybe it’s just greed, but he is engaged, he’s allowed to be.
“You two now.” He demands after a few minutes of afterglow. He sees the way their eyebrows raise at him, but he won’t take it back.
They agree quickly enough, and Max gets to watch Charles strip out of the rest of his clothes. He watches as Alex takes off the strap. Charles rarely bottoms, especially with a race so near, so that’s no surprise.
He will maybe not get off again tonight, but he will get pleasure out of watching them.
And he does.
Charles puts Alex on her hands and knees when he fucks her, and the both of them are just gorgeous. Max has been with them for over two years and he can still not get over it.
Charles’ face when he is feeling pleasure is different from Alex’s in a lot of ways. Charles’s brow stays pinched, and he stays concentrated on his partner's pleasure; ever the giver. Alex’s mouth stays parted, and she’s loud. She likes to just let Charles take over when it comes to this, at least when she’s not on top.
And fuck. Max could watch them do anything and he would be entrapped. He really can’t believe that they want to be married to him.
When Max can tell that Charles is getting close he reaches over and begins to circle Alex’s clit. She moans his name from the stimulation and he doesn’t care how tired his wrist may get, he is not going to stop until she is writhing in pleasure.
It does happen eventually, when they both come, and Max wishes he could have seen both of their expressions. From where he was laying though, he couldn’t see Charles.
Oh well, he’s seen it before and he will see it again. After all, he’s got them for life now. Ha.
-
The pictures are ready for posting the next day, and Max has never felt so nervous about an instagram post in his fucking life.
No seriously, he just can’t even imagine how Alex and Charles’s fans will react to something like this. He guesses he should also worry about the people who follow him, but his ‘fans’ are really the main ones that understand their whole relationship. (And ugh, he hates referring to people as his fans, why do they care about him so much?).
He does love it when Charles shows him the caption that he had originally had in mind.
‘Mr2. & Mrs. Leclerc’
Max likes the sound of that a lot.
-
He didn’t need to worry in the end.
Sure some people are still weird about their relationship, but they’ve been together for a while. Most people are used to it by now.
Linnet commented something about how she better catch the bouquet.
Oscar commented something about his adoptive parents getting married, and Max was amused by that one.
Other drivers commented, but Max doesn’t really care much for any of them that aren't Charles or Oscar, so.
He’s honestly really tried, but the few that he actually likes are Charles’ friends. Oscar was a connection he mostly made on his own, so that’s why Max thinks he prefers Oscar over any of the others.
-
Now when the camera puts him or Alex on the screen as Charles Leclerc's Fiance(s). Max is very pleased.
-
Wedding planning will take lots and lots of time.
Three families that will have to be invited, a large venue. Plus he’s sure that both Alex and Charles will want lots of specific things. Max doesn’t have as many things that he will want, but he’s sure he won’t agree with everything that the other two have in mind. He can already hear Charles asking for Leo to be the ring bearer, or maybe even best man, if he’s giving Charles too much credit.
Lots to do, and Max is so glad that he doesn’t have to pay for any of it.
