Work Text:
misha and ocean were walking to the blackwood cafè after choir. usually, constance would be with them, but she had the flu. so ocean was stocked with tea and misha had random medicine he got from who knows where that he swears is not drugs. ocean will not let him give them to constance hence why misha is angry
hence why he is on the other side of the road
it's quiet in uranium city. eerily quiet... too quiet. it was winter, and dark fell quickly. it was cold, and dark and quiet.
and a man walked by ocean. a man who's not misha. or noel, or ricky. or even father marcus
a man who's too old to be one of the members. too young for father marcus.
"hey, little girl... you all alone?" ocean froze up. she didn't know what to do or say. she wasn't technically alone, but misha was mad at her.
and it was dark, and cold, and quiet
so quiet that misha heard the man
and he sauntered over, as if nothing had ever happened between him and ocean.
"no she's not. she is my girlfriend. now fuck off" he slung an arm around ocean and pulled her in close. it was partially to add to the dating illusion and partially to send a message to ocean.
to say "i got you"
to say "i won't let him hurt you"
"oh come on, girlie. i can do you better than him" the man sneered
misha pulled ocean in tighter, trying to protect her. "i said fuck off."
and the man did, grumbling.
"why did you do that?" ocean asked, quietly. misha's arm was still around her, and she leaned into it, scared.
she was trembling
and misha held her tighter
"because you annoying little sister. and i love you in a non-boyfriend way"
ocean didn't know what to say
"thank you"
