"In the past, there used to be only the existence of goodness. No chaos, just nothing. It was just purity and innocence." Lucifer had spoken towards his daughter, Charlie. The young Princess of Hell stared at her father with curiosity written all over. She had noticed that this was different from the fictional tales he had spoken in the past. It sounded raw, it was real, as if he was speaking from his experiences. She asked a question with an answer that unknowingly would change the course of her future.
"What happened after that?" She questioned the King, she leaned towards him on the bed, anticipating with curiosity and hugged a pillow. She wanted to know more about this tale, it held much more of her interest than the previous takes her father had told her. The king's smile turned into a much rather anxious look, his hands shaken. What way could he explain it all safely? Her father took a deep breath before the words had came out of his mouth:
"I gave the first man Adam, his bride Eve the Fruit of Wisdom. In God's eyes, wisdom was supposed to be something that both Eve and Adam have earn but, due to their disobedience and my so-called 'temptation', evilness managed to climb it's way throughout the earth. You know, like a villain infiltrating the hero's top secret base! Although if I have to say my belief, wisdom should be achieved through mistakes so we can improve from them and become better versions of ourselves from the past since how can we learn if we don't try to see the wrongs? Don't you agree?" Lucifer deep down knew that his perspective on his situation in the past was extremely difficult for others to truly understand. He was the one that caused the horrible to happen after all, the root of all evil. At least, that's how he sees himself.
"Like a villain realizing what they did to the hero was wrong so he begs for forgiveness?" Charlie responded. "Yeah!… Maybe something like that." Charlie didn't say anything after that as she continued to listen.
"You know, according to the humans' bible, it is said that we should follow God's footsteps to be good and that all is God's plan but doesn't that mean he already knows who are destined to be doomed? What if we don't follow his path? What if instead, we create our own destiny. Sure if we do things that we regret, we are the ones that do what we want or must do. It's our responsibility to hold accountability after all. We should have freedom to act and choose! Not be under strict rules! Our life in general isn't some stupid boarding school! Because what way can we change for the good if there isn't any bad? Yes we are in Hell but so what? We don't live in perfect paradise unlike Heaven, we live in the actual reality itself!" Charlie's eyes lightened up like fireworks. No lies, no acting, it's actually him. She clapped her hands, standing up on top of the bed and smiled with her dad. They both laughed together in happiness.
Then Lucifer paused. "Am I talking way too much and boring you with my complicated words? Sorry I must have said a lot to the point it's past your bed time. I shouldn't have started giving you a whole lecture in the middle of the night and you most likely didn't understand a single thing I said. My apologies for unloading things that adult talk about on you heh." Lucifer chuckled to Charlie. He was worried he would mess up her sleep schedule, considering she's still young. "You're right dad, I only understood a teensy weensy bit, you remind me of my teacher!" she giggled again. After the tale, someone voiced their own respective about the conversation.
"It's important to learn from your mistakes but it's also important to avoid making them so not only we don't affect ourselves, we won't hurt people around with our wrongdoings. We shouldn't forget to think about others instead of putting ourselves first." It was Lilith, the Queen of Hell and Charlie's beloved mother. She walked forward and picked Charlie up, their faces made eye contact. "We should think about our people too. Even though the sinners had ended up here because of the cruel things they had done, it doesn't mean most of them don't have any good in them. My dear Charlie, I want you to remember that it's not your responsibility to carry their burden, it's your choice to accept that they do have burdens—what has been done is already done and you can't change the outcome. You are not like the sinners who are part of our people, you are a hell-born. You didn't choose to be in hell nor were you destined to be here so it isn't your fault. You are left to embrace acceptance." A calm smiling Lilith stared at her daughter "Now, can you tell me eye to eye that as the Princess of Hell that you will take care of your people?" "As the Princess of Hell, I will take care of my people." Lilith patted Charlie in the head. "Very good, now let's get you some sleep." Then Lilith started to walk to the door, to Charlie's bedroom. "Don't forget, you still have lessons from your tutor tomorrow." Charlie stared at her dad and waved goodbye. Lucifer did the same.
