Work Text:
This is horrible, Fig thought that she had never suffered anything worse than a double hour of math at 8:30 AM. But here she was, slumped in her chair, not even pretending to listen to the teacher rambling on about some subject that she couldn't be bothered with. She didn't care that this would be on her final exam. And soon she wouldn't care about any off the exams in general if all the teachers wouldn't stop talking about it every second, like, right now.
The only thing that would probably stop her from failing was Adaine, who was sitting next to her and taking notes. How she was so awake so early in the morning, Fig would never know.
Adaines posture was always perfect, but she sat a little straighter today, her back pressed against the uncomfortable plastic chairs. She was stressed. These exams were way to important to fail. she couldn't fail. she wouldn't fail. If she failed, what would happen to her then? Jawbone wouldn't mind, and her friends wouldn't make fun of her, but Adaine? She knew that if she failed, her whole world and self-worth would collapse. And so, here so was, taking notes at 8:30 AM, that Fig would definitely steel, while running on empty because she decided that a few hours of extra study time was more important than sleep and there by accidentally pulling an all-nighter. The only thing giving her slight comfort was that the others were probably in a better state physically and mentally.
Listen, Riz loved solving something complicated just as much as the next rouge, but economics class at 8:30 AM was just to much. nothing seemed to make sense and he was desperately trying not to fall asleep. He knew that this was important for his future and his finals, but right now he just couldn't be bothered. He just hoped History would be easier, he could ask Gorgug for the notes during break so he wouldn't have to worry about those anymore.
(AN: I dropped economics as soon as i could as i was horribly failing and it was just unnecessary stress, so Riz has a shorter part due to the fact a remember basically 0% of the two years economics I DID have)
History wasn't great. But as far as morning lessons went, history was one of the more desirable ones, simple because the teacher was understanding and actually liked their job and was GOOD at it. But it was still only 8:30, and Gorgug was fighting to stay awake. They were learning about some kind of war that Gorgug had never heard of and couldn't be bothered about. Instead, he was trying to go over his notes for other classes that he was worried about. Exam season was stressing him out, and it was starting to take a toll on his mental health. he slept less then he should be, he drank to much coffee to be healthy, and he was slowly loosing energy to do things that made him happy. All he could do was study, if only to prove, to people and himself alike, that he was more then just dumb muscle. He hated that he felt like he had to prove himself to people he didn't even know. He hated that his whole future depended on a grade that tested your memory, not if you understand the material. because at the end of the day, that's what tests did. they make you study, make you remember, but not test if you actually understood it. at least English was easier.
Fabian and Kristen were NOT paying attention like they should be. they were both dangerously close to failing, but neither of them could be bothered. instead they sat in the back playing tic-tac-toe in a corner of Kristens note book. Not caring that they would fail the exam. that was a problem for future them.
