Subject: Annual ER Chili Cook-Off - The Return!
Hi ED gang!!!
The last couple of weeks have been hellacious, to say the least. Since we could all use a little morale boost, the night shift has (nearly, but we're not naming names) unanimously decided to revive a pre-pandemic tradition. That's right, say hello (again!) to the PTMC ED vs. PGH EMS annual chili cook-off!
For those of you who are new to the showdown, we'll be using a single elimination bracket -- with two PTMC entries each week -- before going head to head with the EMS's own battle-tested semi-finalist. As in previous years, Dr. Abbot has generously offered to cover the $20 entry fee for all non-salaried staff, and will bring crockpots and power strips for use in the break room. Finally, all entrants will receive whatever PTMC swag is leftover from summer's Staff Appreciation Days.
Please note that while condiments are graciously welcomed for staff consumption, your chili will be judged on its own merits: no cheese, no hot sauce, no tortilla chips. Side bets are also your own responsibility....you know who you are.
