Chapter 1: Thank you.

Chapter Text

The uncomfortable breeze filled the air as the endless torment resumes in this limbo,

And just like any other typical round, Chance was taking a casual walk around the map, humming a familiar melody to himself,

The light of the area bounced on chance's coin, it glistened, shining, flexing it's rich gold color. Chance felt confident this round. Not like he was never confident in the first place.

The tense of fear inside Chance was undoubtedly numb, non-existent, like it had left him a long time ago to grab milk.

He basically has dread lingering on him as some sort of pet, ego towered any other emotion inside him.

Because without ego, honestly? Chance would be as dry as your crushes replies.

"Hey seven!" Chance exclaimed as he passed by 007n7 fixing a generator, the ex-hacker gave a quick glance at chance and waved shyly followed by an awkward smile, Chance chuckled in response as he resumes to his stroll.

The gambler didn't have a plan this round, he never did.

To him, as long as he was able to successfully stun the killer, that was more than enough thrill for the gambler. He can give himself a pat in the back and call it a round. Well- that is if he did manage to properly aim right.

"HELP! HELP ME!" A helpless survivor's whine pierced Chance's ear, interrupting his peaceful stroll.

He sprinted towards the direction of the voice, only to be met with a gruesome sight.

Noob was severely injured, their arm dark kool-aid red, covered with their own blood. They felt helpless, sitting on the grass stained with their blood, unable to move, the exposed injury left a trail of blood from where Noob originally was.

Making a single move meant enduring a pain that can only be described as needles getting jabbed into your skin.

They were about to collapse, their face screamed out "I'm so fucked" as they continued to sob from the sheer wave of pain the injury on their arm pledged,

Gripping on it desperately like it's gonna help cease the almost-indescribable pain.

The killer, 1x1x1x1, showed no mercy throughout the scene, she looked down at Noob with teasing pity, her venomshank sword in hand,

It flared with ominous black aura, the edge sharp enough it could slice off someone's head like a hand-held guillotine.

Noob's situation was so horrible you'd think the killer was doing them a favor of ending their suffering.

*BANG!*

Gunshot fired. The killer was stunned as a bullet pierced through her jelly body, immense pain was delivered throughout her with ease.

Chance rushed to carry Noob, he swiftly picked them up, scurrying to find safety.

He settled near the corner on the map, hopefully far enough from the killer. The two survivors sat together behind a conveniently placed wall.

The gambler sighed in relief, briefly interrupted by Noob's loud whine. Noob really tried their best to muffle it by covering their mouth, but it didn't help at all.

Tears were streaming down their face, they faced the opposite of Chance, embarrassed of how pathetic they must be right now.

"thanks," Noob manage to grasp, voice low and teary, yet loud enough for chance to hear.

"Your welcome," Chance responded,

He felt really guilty he couldn't help ease the pain, only able to watch Noob endure the pain alone, their whole body was shaking, they hugged their legs then burried their face in their knees.

Chance pierced the silence.

"Sorry i don't have a medkit for you..." he professed.

"You don't need to apologize Chance, i can push through it."

Noob smiled, they were relieved they somehow found tranquil in this limbo, even if it's only for a couple of minutes. Being in a moment where it was just bliss and timed chatter, was all they could ever ask.

"It feels less painful now, anyways." They murmured. They bit their lip, it was very well obvious a lie.

Chance shuffled closer to Noob, he caressed their back, trying to bring some warmth into the situation.

The air felt cold and damp, the wind blew a soft breeze against the two survivors, the area moist from a rain that didn't exist in the first place.

Noob wiped off their tears, trying to shift themselves, "i really owe you one."

The sentence hung in the air, more longer than it should've.

"Yeah, You really do" Chance snickered.

Both survivors felt awkward. The silence was loud. Noob fidgeted in-between the undisturbed peace.

They shared shy glances from time to time, Chance couldn't help but blush a little from the sight of the cute face from the survivalist that's sitting right beside him, and Noob could definitely say the same to Chance.

They'd regularly talk to eachother. In and out of rounds, it wasn't anything new or unusual, they never had any secret feelings for eachother.

However, It seems they've felt new-found tension towards eachother.

They never realized how much they truly enjoyed each other's company. Every moment of silence they were sharing, made it more obvious what these feelings really were.

Chance's hand lingered closer to Noob's, one touch away from holding hands. They both faced the opposite of each other. Hesitantly yet impatiently Noob initiated to hold hands.

So there they both were, in the corner of the map, behind a wall, holding hands. And mutually, one could argue it made them feel... hard.

Alas, before they could enjoy the moment to it's extent the two survivors were unexpectedly teleported back to the main cabin with no warning. Completely and perfectly back to normal conditions, no injuries, no stains, just a whole reset back to their original appearances.

All the survivors felt comfortable to finally be back, conversations started to fill the cabins nature.

Noob sighed in relief, glad they didn't have to endure that pain any longer. They passed through the chittering crowd to find Chance near the stairs, flipping his gold coin.

"Hey noob!" Chance waved,

He walked towards Noob in playful intent, if it weren't for his dark tinted shades. His smirk wouldn't be able to help hide the obvious fact he might be down bad for the survivalist.

"Chance... hahah.." Noob responded awkwardly, their smile dropped slightly. still pensive about what had happen earlier.

"Noob, wanna talk outside for a bit?" Chance asked, tone with a hint of cockyness. He put his gold coin away in his pocket, walking closer to noob.

He tilted his shades down, just enough to show a glimpse of his eyes. In Noob's words: 'it made his confident smirk a million times seductive'.

It earned a slight blush from Noob, as flustered as they were, that move didn't effect them as much, Chance had already done this a dozen of times. But admittedly, it always works like a charm.

Noob nodded, unaware with what Chance had in mind. Nonetheless Noob already felt that the gambler had something up his sleeves, just- not sure what it could be.

Chance wanted something from noob, and he wanted it badly.
