Buzz was in the training grounds, trying to break a new record. Just as he was close, the system stopped. He groans and was ready to get mad at who ruined his record-
“Lightyear.”
Buzz glares stop to see Nos-4-a2 in his organic form. “Nos, why are you here? XR isn't here.”
“Actually, I came here for you.” Nos spoke and saw Lightyear was keeping away. “For a mission. Furthermore, you are very much not my type.”
“Right, and I don't feel bad about that.” Buzz grins for this was a chance he can win the energy vampire to his side. “So what is it that the GAF needs me for? Infiltration? Ambush? Saving peace against the evil emperor Zurg?”
Nos was resisting the urge to mock him. “A queen from the planet Zurtron needs help with a situation.” The energy vampire shows him the planet looking similar to Capital planet. “There was a signal coming from their queen, seeking our assistance.”
“Zurg is targeting a helpless planet!” Buzz was ready to roll out. “Not on my watch!!” He was already running out but Nos pulled him back where he stood from the helm of the collar of his suit.
“No.” Nos stated, keeping himself calm, wishing it was Ryder taking on the mission. “There seems to be some sort of murder and it was apparently inhuman. She is seeking an alliance in exchange we help find the monster and bring him to justice.” Nos spoke and can see Buzz was confused. “The planet consists of what is considered human so we need certain people to join in the mission. I need you and another to help me go there and investigate.”
“Really? But you can look the part.” Buzz raised a brow.
“But I can raise suspicion due to my hunger and I have red optics. I need two other people to help secure my cover and investigate where I cannot."
“So I was your first choice?” Buzz smiles, thinking his acquaintance can-
“You were my fourth choice. I already have talked to the other ranger I chose and we will be taking my ship and seeing him there.” Nos stated as he happy to leave Buzz's presence. “Be sure to grab what you need and we will be going in an hour.”
Buzz grumbles but instead follows, he couldn't help but wonder who was his first three choices.
~An hour later~
Buzz was making his way to the port bay and was happy to see Ty Parsec was here! “Ty! Good to see you pal!”
Ty looks his way. “Of course you're here.” He grumbles and gets annoyed when Buzz lunges an arm around him.
“Don't be like that! You saved me a few times. So what brings you here?” Buzz grins.
“I'm here on a mission with the agent Nos.” Ty pushes Buzz away. “I got recommended and now I'll be on trial to be an agent.” Ty grins.
Buzz was shocked. “He- what- how?!” Buzz was lost for words.
“I see you two are here.” Nos comes up, raising a brow when Buzz comes up to him. “Is there a problem?”
“Why are you doing this to Ty?! Are you buying off his support?!” Buzz was steaming.
“Rude.” Nos pushed him away when he was too close. “I did no such thing. Ty and I found common ground and we are mutual friends. And I did not recommend him, XR did.” Nos crosses his arms.
Meanwhile
“Achoo!” XR sneezed as he was startled by that. He was carrying Morticia as Vanet was keeping Nox in his bassinet stroller. They were enjoying XR's three days off at the park.
“You ok dad?” Vanet asked looking up from her book.
“I'm ok though I think your papa is talking about me.” XR grins. “Think he's ok?”
“I know it! I didn’t have a bad feeling.” Vanet insisted.
“I know he can handle himself. I'm generally worried cuz he's stuck with Buzz and Uncle Ty.” XR was really worried, knowing how those two can butt heads. “Well I know he can handle it.”
~Back to the ship~
Nos was controlling his anger as Buzz was testing his patience.
Again
“How could you overlook me?!” Buzz shouted, pacing across the deck room.
“I have saved the galaxy and a universe. A universe!!”
Nos massaged his head. “Buzz we have gone through this; you are already well versed: As a space ranger.” Nos glares.
“Ty Parsec is a potential candidate who has no ties to any grand background. He also tested for the critical position and exceeded well.”
“You are lying.” Buzz stated.
Nos presses the auto pilot, Ty the whole time was only enjoying the fact confident Buzz was now devastated Buzz. “Lightyear,” Nos turns to him. “You said it yourself, you are happy as the space ranger you are. I cannot have you in the GAF when you are too well known. Ty is known but he's not popular- no offense.”
“No no, I want to keep hearing this.” Ty grins.
“Ty is a perfect candidate to blend in when needed and do what is necessary.” Nos stated. “Which is why this will be a test for him.”
“Then test me too!” Buzz came up to Nos. “Let me prove it!”
Nos glares and looks to Ty and looks to Lightyear before sighing. “Fine. I will test you both but this does not mean it will be acDukeed for.” Nos reminded him.
Buzz grins and is already proud. “Why don't I show you my flight skills?” Buzz was already excited. “Or we can plan what to do! I can-”
“We are sticking to the guidelines. This planet's civilization, aside from the queen and her secret men, are not aware of life existing outside of their knowledge. We need to keep hidden and not give any hint. There is an order to this.”
“Right! But you see I have experienced in this field too-”
“10 points off.” Nos stated.
“What?!” Buzz was shocked.
“So as part of the test,” Ty began his explanation. “Each test taker starts off with 100 points. The more out of line you do, the less points.”
“No fair!” Buzz scowls.
“Wish to make it 20?” Nos glares.
Buzz looks away and steps away.
“Now then, we are coming up to it so please get ready.” Nos snaps his fingers and soon sees three cases elevated up. Nos takes one in his name and takes it to another room to change.
“Really Ty?” Buzz glares.
“Really what?” Ty retorts. “That I'm being more active in my career change?”
“You're giving up star command! And you didn't tell me!” Buzz points out.
“Buzz, you made everything into a competition. Where you couldn't beat Warp, I came third after you.” He opens the case to reveal Victorian style clothing. He saw there was a small model on how to wear them. “Look, this is a great opportunity for me and Nos was considerate enough to help me.”
“Did he bribe you? Blackmail??” Buzz was confused. “He turned you into the wirewolf! He almost ruined you!”
“And he helped me get over that. And if we're getting on the subject of blackmail, I blackmailed him first.” Ty was almost done. “But we came into common ground. I just want to better myself and move on from the wirewolf and other things. Don't take this from me.” Ty was already done and saw Buzz was uncomfortable with taking off his inner suit hood.
Buzz had to take it off and revealed Sabelian/ bluish black hair was cut short. “This is embarrassing.” He grumbles.
“Are you two almost done?”
They were startled by the feminine voice. “Nos?” They both asked. “Not yet.” Ty spoke out and wondered more questions about the energy vampire.
Landed in Zurtron
Outside Capital city of the sunsets empire-
“Alright.” Nos spoke, adorning in a simple burgundy dress that was of the latest trend in the fashion of this planet. “Thank goodness my tata has lived here before so it will not be odd to take his title and his status.” Nos activated the small cube and it took the form of a carriage designed as the empire's modern transportation. “We will be going to his estate and hopefully there is no one there.”
“You're father, Nosfer?” Buzz asked but he was perplexed how Nos as a woman was quite a lady he has no intention to ogle. “Have you been a woman before??”
“Yes and yes.” Nos spoke, setting everything up. “It would be too suspicious if there were three men appearing and to lose suspicion, we must review ourselves. “I am Nosfera Rege, daughter of the late Duke. Ty you are to play the role of my brother and Lightyear, you are the guard.”
“Why not more believable like a husband or something??” Buzz was puzzled and hears a beep and Nos turns on her comm.
“Hey babe~ quite a beauty you look.” XR was heard from the comm.
“Luv, is everything alright?” Nos smiles to see XR.
“I felt a disturbance of someone asking you to be their wife, do I gotta fight them?”
Nos giggles, “Not to worry but I do miss you so much and our children.” Nos purrs. “I hope to wrap this up soon.”
“I know I wanna wrap you up in more than just my hands~”
“Darling not out here.” Nos blushes. “Later tonight.”
Buzz and Ty ignore Nos and XR but Ty was seeing how nice it was to have something like that. He wanted to get out of star command and get his life going.
“Alright but if you need me to swing by…”
“Always my love.” Nos makes the hologram appear and kisses XR.
“But please bring that dress when you come home.”
“You know they will want to store it away.”
“Not after when you get back. I love you!”
Nos sees the comm end and looks to them. “That is the reason. No one plays as my partner no matter what.”
“Point taken. So that's why you're keeping your rings on.” Buzz had to respect Nos, he- we'll she is loyal to XR. “Ok so let's go to your father's home and set up everything.” Buzz was excited to get this plan going.
Nos nodded and went into the carriage.
Buzz and Ty followed and saw it was just as extraordinary inside.
“What can you tell us about the case?” Buzz asked.
“Well,” Nos took a moment. “This is the work of a vampire after studying the past dead victims.” Nos stated.
“What?” Buzz could only get that out.
“A blood drinking vampire.” Ty added and Nos nodded.
“However if we find more evidence, we can get a better visual of the situation.” Nos added as she shuts off the device.
“You don't believe it's vampires, do you?” Buzz can see Nos was adamant.
“I cannot say if it is or is not but we need to find more information.” Nos looks over the victims. “The victims were young: ranging from 23 to 26. Each had no connection but that most of them were common class and only 3 of them were nobles.” Nos spoke.
“Sounds like we need to dig deeper.” Buzz felt this was a serious thing.
Arriving at the estate it was very grand and larger than Nos expected. Of course she did not expect servants there but were robots.
“Hello lady, if you are here to speak to the Duke, I'm afraid he has not been here.” The butler said, he too is a robot.
Nos simply smiles. “Hello, I am Nosfera-”
“You have the ring!” The butler held her hand up. “You are his heir! How joyful! And an honor that our master's child is here.”
Buzz and Ty were alarmed that these robots claim Nos their master.
“Thank you. But I must speak with you all. Privately.” Nos stated.
“Of course mistress.” The butler spoke. “We obey to your every command.” And led Nos inside, leaving the men standing.
Nos was not used to this. She did had zombie hornets but they were programmed to follow her. To have servants willingly follow you is a different story. They served her tea, food and all sorts. Nos accepts the tea but is perplexed to taste oil.
“Is it everything to your desire m'lady?” the butler, Sirle asked.
“It is. I must confess that I am not exactly human-”
“Oh we detected that already m'lady.” Sirle bows. “But we detected a strange anomaly in you that carries our master's blood and to carry it in you is more than enough proof for us. We do not mind you are a robotic organic much vast than us, you carry our master's blood. We are so blessed he sired an heir.”
“I see. I must also add that I am a male as well. T- my father helped me become a shifter of sorts-”
“Oh how blessed! You have one if not more! You are his true heir!”
Nos was confused before they brought pictures of his Tata's paintings to be bothered versions. “So he had other forms. Are there other clothes and what I need to know about his life? And if you can, bring me any news about the city?”
“Certainly master. I can offer all my knowledge to help you.” He takes out a small crystal piece. “Our building is very mechanical and our memory and knowledge is stored in these magic crystals.”
Nos holds it up and inserts it into the device and begins reading all about her father. She could not help but cry and smile to see he made a life here. She was startled to see he was… a renowned theif.
“Sirle, if I am to stay for the time, what would be better?”
“Well master, as of recent, there has been human kidnapping and most preferred are the ones that stand out. Of course you are very eye-catching but if they find out your identity, I'm afraid they will come after you.”
“So to better hide, male is preferred.” Nos knew this was not a serious push back but that meant she- he had to change his approach. “Anything else?”
“No master and if you need to change, we have late master's clothes ready for you.” Sirle speaks.
“Then I will change. Also is it possible to see the queen soon?”
“I will send a letter as soon as you write it.” Sirle bows.
“Thank you.” Nos thanks him and goes to change.
Buzz and Ty had forced their way, and were let in under Nos's order. “I hope she doesn’t let it get to her.” He mumbles but sees there was food out. “This looks-”
“You do not eat what is not yours.” One of the maids scolded.
Buzz frowns. “I know Nos and she was a criminal-”
“Oh my good graces!” They shouted. Buzz thought for a moment he got their attention. “Our master is amazing!! He takes after our late master!”
Ty snickers. “Now you made them a fan, good job.”
“He was a criminal!” Buzz was alarmed how this is so off.
“Lightyear, quit your shouting.” Nos enters in, now a man wearing a distinct burgundy suit.
The maids gush and Sirle walks up. “A spitting image to our Duke.”
“I thought it was suspicious to be a man.” Buzz was confused now.
“As much as it can be, there are too many possible outcomes that can interfere with our work. Besides, it will be best to not attract attention.” Nos hands the letter with the insignia of the Duke being the same as his ring. “Be sure to send it to the queen.”
“Absolutely master.” Sirle bows and goes to send it out.
“Would it be good to walk around the city?” Ty asked. “To get a better clear understanding of the situation.”
“Great idea! I can scout.” Buzz was persistent to find the murderer.
“No.” Nos spoke. “If we go out without any permission, we can cause trouble for ourselves. Not to mention any mistake we do, can lead to destroying the alliance. Furthermore we can be spied on so whatever thought or idea you have, end it.” Nos knew this was not going to be a simple mission. “And we cannot assume the queen will be kind to us. At least to me. For now, we will need to wait until we receive an answer.”
That was when a maid came to the room. “An officer Luca wishes to speak to you, he was sent by the queen.”
Nos looks at Buzz and Ty and looks back. “Escort him to the foyer outside.”
“Of course master.” She takes her leave with Sirle.
Nos looks at them and knew it was suspicious. “Now this will be your trial for you two. The mission begins and we must be cautious. I can only assume this is one of the many secret police.”
Buzz only grins. “We will stay alert.”
“Of course.” Ty kept a calm composure but he was surely excited. He was being taken serious and his chance to illuminate his skills.
Out at the foyer, the officer sat calmly and drank the water he requested. The last time he was here was when the Duke was here. ‘Perhaps 10.’ Luca thought and frowned, knowing his teacher left without a word and now some supposed heir came here to take away his teacher's home. ‘He will think twice to not desecrate his honor.’ He glares but sees Sirle on stand-by but was alert when the new master came up. He was startled to see the man look like his teacher if he was younger. He took a moment to strengthen his demeanor but was startled to see a man similar to him.
Buzz was startled by the man as much as his doppelganger but he looked to see Nos was calm and collected.
‘Bloody damn hell! I can barely stand one Lightyear! Two is more than too much!!’ Nos steps forward. “Afternoon, I am Nosferatu Rege, the son of the Duke.”
“I can see the resemblance. I was a student of the Duke but I have never heard of you .”
“I was found by my father. Had it not been for him, I believe I would be still lost to the hate I have. He is a good man that I respect and care for.”
Luca kept quiet. “Did he pass away…?”
“No he is still alive though he does travel a lot. He is going to see my children soon.”
“You are married.” Luca spoke.
“Yes.” Nos answers but he can tell this man was analyzing him and watching for any signs of a lie. “I hope with things cleared up, I can bring them here-”
“You are here about the murders.” Luca was calm, however his tone was cold. “You are the outsiders the queen spoke of.”
“We are here to investigate the mysterious murders.” Buzz cuts them both off. “And seeing this may be out of your hand-”
“I beg your pardon?” Luca glares. “We have been keeping it under wraps and maintaining order for the sake of people. You think you can waltz in and take over my investigation?”
Ty can see this was getting out of hand. He knew this might get worse. “If I may intervene?” He didn't realize he thought out loud but Nos turned but nodded to him. “I know this is your murder cases, and most importantly your home. It is wrong of us to take over especially when it isn't our right.” He sees the officer relax a bit. “My team leader, Nosferatu, warned us not to step out of line and my teammate here stepped out of line so please accept our apology. We just want to help.”
Luca glare softened and sighs. “Thank you and I appreciate your sentiment. I came here personally to speak to the Duke seeing if he was a scam artist. But I can now see you have a brash and inconsiderate brute.” Luca glares down at Buzz.
“Lightyear, apologize.” Nos turns to Buzz.
“Lightyear?” Luca was startled.
“I see you heard of me.” Buzz crosses his arms.
“..... My name is Luca Lightyear.”
All three were shocked.
“What??”
