A Crack In My Soul

Summary:

Sakiko has been trying to compose the next Ave Mujica song for a week. Hatsune did her part. She did it perfectly. Sakiko has been trying, and failing, for a week. After the first two days, she became fixated. Over the last three, she’s barely slept. She’s coming undone, and Hatsune just wants to help. But she can’t. All she does it make it worse.

Work Text:

It had been yet another long night in a series of long nights. Hatsune had tried her hardest to make it more comfortable, had tried to be there for Sakiko. Saki-chan. She was working so hard for them, for her, for Ave Mujica. For those that believed in her, for those that followed her, for those that had given their lives to her. It wasn’t Saki-chan’s fault that sometimes the music wouldn’t come. She was trying her hardest. She was working for them.m. Hatsune had been there herself many times, she understood. Shouldering the responsibility was a hard job for her, but she did it. She did it no matter how hard it was, no matter how it affected her. She did it for them. Hatsune had to do what she could for her.

“Saki-chan! Do you want another cup of coffee?” Saki had been drinking more coffee the last few nights. Usually, she’d have one only when Hatsune would, something Hatsune found quite cute of her. Hatsune would make two cups for them. Sakiko would groggily stumble down, too tired from waking up to maintain her usual composure and elegance. A view only Hatsune got to see. They’d sip it together with breakfast, Hatsune would always finish first. Hatsune would clean the cups. The ritual would conclude.

But with the recording deadline coming up for their next song, they should have been rehearsing by now. Sakiko knew that. She knew how badly she was failing them, and she was trying. It just wasn’t coming together. She couldn’t figure out the right way to do it. She felt like she was trying to learn a language by total immersion, stumbling around cluelessly in the dark trying to find her way. But she couldn’t. So she just had to keep at it. She just had to keep pushing through. No matter what it took. Even coffee.

But they weren’t rehearsing. The song wasn’t done. Because Sakiko couldn’t finish the song. No matter how hard she tried, no matter how many hours she gave it. No matter how many times she thought she had it, only to realize it was never going to work and start over. Hatsune had done her part on time, and it was fantastic. Sakiko knew it was fantastic. Of course it was. It was Hatsune’s work. But she still couldn’t figure out how to make it right. It had to be just as fantastic. It had to do right by Hatsune’s lyrics. Otherwise, she’d be letting Ave Mujica down. She’d be letting everyone down.

Although Hatsune had not yet gotten a response from Sakiko, she began preparing the cup for her. It came mechanically. She nervously teetered back and forth on her feet as she waited. Under her gaze, the adage proved false and the watched pot boiled. It would be fine. Saki’s coffee would usually be cool by the time she was done and that didn’t seem to bother her. So if she didn’t want it now, she could have it later. Saki would be fine, she’d figure this out. Hatsune would be fine, she’d be there for Saki-chan.

“Yes, I think so.” Saki mumbled to herself, knowing Hatsune would just make it anyways if she didn’t reply. She didn’t want to break her focus. She almost had it. She knew she almost had it. It was going to come to her. She just knew, through her groggy, delirious thoughts, she’d get it done. Her heart was racing as she sat there, yet she felt so tired. She needed the caffeine to keep going. She needed to finish.

But she still hated the coffee. It was foul. She’d tried different flavors and blends. She tried cream and sugar until it was practically a hot milkshake. But it didn’t work. She just didn’t like it. But the caffeine kept her going. It let her work longer and harder. It kept her up. Once, she had confided in Umiri that she needed a better source of caffeine and she had suggested energy drinks. Saki had tried that. It was worse. She didn’t know how she did it. She couldn’t even finish the can. She would have to continue tolerating the angry bean water.

Sure enough, she heard Hatsune climbing back up to the loft in the apartment. At this point, it was just primarily her work area. They had long since begun to share Hatsune’s bed. Although, having purchased a new, larger one together… it was their bed now, wasn’t it? They had their stargazing area up here, but their spines had a clear preference. A bed in the middle of a room, meanwhile, was just bad layout. So, Hatsune’s bedroom it was. It was littered with costumes and instruments, her desk against the wall having only maintained its cleanliness due to Hatsune’s hard work. Hatsune had made sure she at least ate, but she wouldn’t leave the work. Hatsune had taken the empty plates and silverware and cleaned them, and Sakiko continued to work.

“H-here, Saki-chan.” Hatsune’s trembling hand reached out to hand Sakiko the coffee. Saki turned to look at her, Hatsune seeing the deep, dark circles ringing her eyes. She had barely slept the last three nights. Up late for hours, asleep for maybe four, and up late again. A brutal cycle, but she needed to finish the song. She was running entirely on caffeine and stress, her body aching for a good rest that she would continue to deny it. She hadn’t even changed out of her pajamas in five days, and had begun a week ago.

Saki wordlessly took the coffee from her, knocking back several large gulps and setting it down. Hatsune blinked, equally shocked and worried feelings creating a short circuit in her brain. That was freshly made.

“Saki-chan? Are you… okay?” Hatsune tried her best to read Saki’s expression, but that was never an easy task. She was too good at masking. Hatsune was grateful Sakiko had let her in as much as she had, more than she could say. But still, Sakiko was Sakiko.

NO.” Saki’s head snapped towards her, glaring at Hatsune. Hatsune let out an “eep” of fright, stepping back, her hands went to her chest as if to shield herself from death. Saki sighed, clicking her tongue, a slight roll of her eyes making her emotions all too clear now. “Hatsune.” Both stressed and worried. Annoyed. Concerned. The disgruntled manager. Somehow, even now it comforted her, hearing her name fall from Saki-chan’s lips.

“Y-yes?” Hatsune looked hopeful, her near-crying averted by the attention. She choked back the urge to beg Sakiko to not be angry with her, she knew it was too easy for her to do that. She just was scared. Sakiko was all that kept her going, was all that kept her strong. She needed her. She couldn’t lose her.

“Can you please refrain from asking needless questions tonight?” Saki stared at her, unblinking. Her usually well-kempt hair was loose and free, messy ends standing up and others held down by an accumulation of grease. Hatsune stood there for a moment, unmoving, unblinking, perhaps unbreathing. It rather reminded Sakiko of a program struggling to load.

Then the tears began to fall. Of course they did. Of course this would only become worse, only become more of a distraction. She just wanted to finish the song. She just needed to finish the song. That was all. But she couldn’t. She was going to. But Hatsune. Hatsune just had to go pestering her when all she wanted to do was finish. She’d have time for her later, but right now she needed this time. She needed to finish the song. Why couldn’t Hatsune just let her finish the song?

“I-I was…” Hatsune choked out. “I thought you got b-burned!” Sakiko sighed. She knew this must have been stressing Hatsune out took she did. She loved her, of course she’d be worried. But it hardly helped her to be like this. Hatsune just made it harder. Sakiko didn’t feel supported right now. She just felt burdened.

“I am perfectly fine in that department.” Sakiko lied. She had drank that coffee way too quickly. That was true, Hatsune had been right to guess as much. But that was Sakiko’s problem, not hers. She wanted the caffeine, she wanted to be done with it as fast as possible, and she absolutely did burn her mouth and throat a bit. It wasn’t dangerous, but it was uncomfortable. Just another problem, one for her to deal with. Not for Hatsune to go and make a scene over. “But your constant worrying over me only means I need to manage you instead of focus on my work.” Sakiko paused. “Our work.” Sakiko stood, walking over to Hatsune, her bare feet thudding against the floor, all grace lost with the sleep depravation.

“But, what about Saki-chan?” Hatsune asked, failing to process Sakiko’s intentions. She just wanted to help Saki-chan. She was doing this for her, why couldn’t she see that?

“If I need anything, I’ll tell you,” Saki stated, bluntly. Sakiko looked at her, and for a moment, Hatsune couldn’t help but be reminded of her father, Sakiko’s grandfather. She hated that. She figured it was to be expected, she didn’t want to hold it against her. But still, she hated it.

“But… what should I do?” Hatsune looked at her with pleading eyes. Saki couldn’t help but think about how she reminded her of a puppy. A poor, kicked puppy. Sakiko couldn’t help it, that puppy wouldn’t stop scratching at her leg at every opportunity.

“Whatever you want. As long as it doesn’t bother me.” Sakiko put her hands on her hips with a huff. She just wanted to be left alone. She needed to be alone, to work. For Ave Mujica. For Hatsune. To honor Hatsune’s own commitment, to let her beauty and brilliance shine fully.

“But… I want to be with Saki-chan.” Hatsune didn’t understand. She was being told to do something other than she wanted, but to do what she wanted? She wanted to be here for Saki-chan. She wanted to support her, to help her be able to finish this audacious task. Sakiko needed help, and she was there to provide it. She needed comfort and support. That was Hatsune’s job, right?

“Well, that is bothering me.” Saki coldly replied, tiring of this cul-de-sac of a conversation. She wanted to get back to work. She needed to get back to work. Hatsune needed to let her get back to work. Hatsune’s breath turned ragged. She stumbled forwards, her arms reaching up for Sakiko. Sakiko was too groggy, too stressed to react. Hatsune grabbed Sakiko roughly by the shoulders, pulling the two of them close, her hot breath on Sakiko’s face.

“Why?!” Hatsune burst out with a tearful, quiet rage. “Why can’t I be with you?! Why can’t I help you?!” Hatsune’s voice quivered, staring Sakiko down. Sakiko huffed. Hatsune wasn’t listening, still. Why couldn’t she just listen?

“Because I need to finish. Because everyone is relying on me. Because you’re relying on me. Because every time you’re around, you’re relying on me. You aren’t helping me, you’re making me help you with your distress over my distress. This is my responsibility. I should not have my burdens added to by your stress over my burdens. You are just making everything worse.”

Sakiko regretted it as soon as she said it. It was all true. Every word was how she had been feeling for these last few days. No, longer than that. The last few days just amplified the issue. It had been like this for far longer. She would experience stress or depression, Hatsune would react worse, and she would have to put aside her feelings to deal with Hatsune’s. It was a cycle she hated. Sometimes she wanted to just scream. She wanted to scream, and scream, and scream until her voice went raw. She wanted to tell Hatsune to stop, beg her to stop. She wanted Hatsune to hear her.

But still, she regretted it. If she could have turned back time even a minute, she’d have done it differently. She knew it was the wrong way to say it as soon as she spoke. Because then Hatsune ran, sobbing, back to their room. She slammed the door shut behind her. Sakiko sighed, slightly relieved she made it down the stairs okay, before allowing herself to return to processing the rest of the situation. She had to let herself do that.

Had she been too harsh? Absolutely. There were ways to say these things more kindly. There were ways to have that conversation with more finesse. She should have handled that better. She knew that. She just couldn’t. She couldn’t even finish the damn song. Sakiko considered chasing after her, trying to apologize and soothe things over. It felt like the right thing to do. But she didn’t. She instead went back to work. She needed to finish the song. To her surprise, she found herself invigorated. The mix of shame and frustration, guilty love and understandable anger, that was what this needed. That’s what this was going to require, and now she was where she needed to be.

She finished the coffee what she believed was rather quickly, time losing much meaning as she worked. This was the right headspace for this song, knowing she had hurt the one she loved, but having done it only because she was being hurt, her hurt being the result of Hatsune’s hurt at her stress, which had been her first hurt. It was layers of nonsensical pain, the two of them having the worst possible reactions and making what could have been a simple conversation into an entire debacle. Hatsune was too soft and fragile, Sakiko was too stern and stubborn. She knew what went wrong, how it went wrong. She just couldn’t change that it did.

Two hours later, she was done. Finally, truly done. It was finished. She had finished the song. It was perfect, just as Hatsune’s lyrics were. She knew it was. And now, she had no escape. She couldn’t tell Hatsune it was done, have her see it, without first confronting what had happened. She had to go through it in order to progress.

Sakiko climbed the stairs down from the loft, her left hand on the rail and her right hand clutching her finished manuscript. She walked to their door and knocked, just two knuckles against the door as not to be too loud and startling. She knew that Hatsune would be even more sensitive now.

“Hatsune?” Sakiko quietly called through the door. She waited, no response. She replicated her actions again, no response. She did it a third time. No response. She began to worry. Was Hatsune okay? She checked the handle, and breathed a sigh of relief that it was unlocked. Not a foregone conclusion.

Walking into the room, she saw Hatsune lying on the bed, perpendicular, face down. Her legs dangled at the knees from the bed. At some point she had taken off her shirt and thrown it on the floor, the collar visibly wet still. Her face was pressed into a pillow still. Sakiko approached her, feeling her heart pound. She couldn’t tell if Hatsune was breathing. She had to be okay, right? This was for her. She had to know. She had to see it.

Sakiko nervously tapped Hatsune on the shoulder, calling her name. She tried to keep the fear out of her voice, maintaining her composure. She didn’t want to scare Hatsune. She just wanted Hatsune to be okay. She waited, and tapped again. And called her name, again. Finally, after what felt like an eternity in the deepest bowels of Hell, Hatsune moaned a bit and turned slightly, waking up from the sleep she had cried herself to. Sakiko let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding.

“Hatsune? Are you awake?” Hatsune heard Sakiko say. She felt herself relax a bit, hearing her name. Hatsune softly rolled onto her side, struggling to look up at Sakiko on the account of opening her tear-stained, swollen eyes being more difficult than she had expected. Sakiko looked at the pillow. Hatsune had clearly been sobbing into it. The stains of tears, spit, and snot still stained it, it having served as an entire box of tissues. Sakiko made a mental note to make sure that that pillow was washed sooner rather than later.

“Diddja finish?” Hatsune mumbled, her eyes finally peeling open. Hatsune felt her stomach churn a bit as the light hit them. Sakiko nodded in the affirmativeand Hatsune weakly smiled. “I still helped.” A chuckle weakly parted her lips. “I didn’t make too much noise.” She looked to the stained pillow.

“You muffled yourself so as to not bother me?” Sakiko’s surprise showed on her tired face. Of course, even then Hatsune was only thinking about her.

“Y-yeah. Anything for Saki-chan.” Hatsune smiled again. Sakiko sat down next to her and laid back, rolling on to her side as well. She needed to be on Hatsune’s level.

“I have it here when you’re ready.” Sakiko gestured, shaking the papers, putting them down behind her after lifting them for Hatsune to see.

“That’s alright, I’m sure it’s perfect.” Hatsune replied. She looked so peaceful, despite her condition.

“You need to read it for rehearsal tomorrow.” Sakiko sighed, shaking her head. Why did she say that? She was so excited to show her. That’s what she meant. She wanted her to read it, to be proud of her too.

“Oh, right.” Hatsune went quiet, internally kicking herself. Of course that’s what she meant. Sakiko went quiet as well. Together, they stayed there in silence for a while, just looking at each other. Studying each other’s expressions, thinking about each other and themselves. Hatsune and Sakiko, an impossible love. Oblivionis and Doloris. Niece and aunt. Her beloved Hatsune, the girl she had spent so long believing was Uika. She wondered if the real Uika hated her now. She should.

But Sakiko didn’t want to just let this moment go past without any discussion. She needed to talk to Hatsune. Hatsune would let her avoid it, if she wanted to. Hatsune wouldn’t deal with this. She’d accept it and move on to cry another day. Sakiko hated that. Hatsune would always let her. Sakiko didn’t want that. She didn’t want Hatsune to let her treat her that way. She needed to talk to her.

“Hatsune…” Sakiko spoke up. The happy expression on her aunt’s face when she said her name, even swollen and red from sobbing and sleeping on it, was still adorable after all this time. She loved her. She just needed it to be different.

“Yes, Saki-chan?” Hatsune waited patiently, looking excited to hear what she had to say next.

“Hatsune… I’m… I’m sorry for earlier.” Sakiko admitted. She let out a big sigh of relief. She had managed to say it. She had needed to. She had been out of line treating her that way. She couldn’t let Hatsune let her get away with that.

“It’s okay, I know Saki-chan didn’t mean it.” Hatsune smiled, already getting past their fight. She looked so innocent like this. Like a child, believing that everyone she loves only ever meant well and was innocent of ever feeling any true animosity towards her. It hurt Sakiko to see. It reminded her of herself, once.

“No. I meant every word.” It pained Sakiko to see that smile wiped off Hatsune’s face. She had to tell her the truth, even if it hurt her.

“But…” Hatsune’s voice choked once again. Sakiko continued before she could fully spiral once more. She wouldn’t derail this.

“But that doesn’t mean I needed to express myself to you in that manner. I still was too harsh. I could have spoken to you about it more politely, with more finesse. I should have.” Sakiko watched Hatsune’s expression with bated breath. Her quivering face went still. Her brow furrowed. Sakiko waited, hoping Hatsune would listen.

“No. You don’t need to lie to me. I hurt you. It’s okay to be hurt.” Hatsune’s conviction was clear, she meant her words. It’s just that her words didn’t make sense. Sakiko hurt her. It wasn’t that she was sorry for being hurt, it was that she was sorry for hurting Hatsune in response. She didn’t want to do that, but she had.

“And I hurt you.” Sakiko spoke faster, insistent. “We both hurt each other.”

“That’s okay. If it makes Saki-chan feel better, I’m okay with getting hurt.” Hatsune smiled, seemingly proud of herself. Whatever anger Sakiko felt at herself was now solely directed at Hatsune. She just wouldn’t listen to her.

“No.” Sakiko’s voice took on a harder edge. “That’s not what I want to do. I don’t want to hurt you, even if I am hurt. I want...” Sakiko stared deeply into Hatsune’s eyes. Hatsune felt frozen in place, petrified by her gaze. “I want to protect you. I want to make you better. I want to put you back together. I want to make you forget.” She spoke quickly, but firmly. Like a politician giving a well-rehearsed speech, the words poured from her lips, an almost rhythmic quality to them. It was a song.

After a moment, the two breathing together, Hatsune collected her words. She took a deep breath. “I want to make Saki-chan forget too.” She smiled. “You can’t forget if you’re always thinking of me. Don’t think of me. Let me help you, Saki-chan.” Hatsune looked so certain of herself. Saki could feel her blood boiling. She just wouldn’t listen! Why could Hatsune never just listen to the words she said?!

Then, Sakiko’s body acted without her thinking. In moments, she was on Hatsune’s hips, straddling her, her hands pinning Hatsune’s shoulders down, Hatsune having been rolled onto her back. “Why can’t you just listen to me?!” Sakiko’s voice came out raw, her eyes starting to sting with tears. Her emotions, so well controlled usually, rushed forth, the torrential flood threatening to drown her.

“You won’t let me help you!” Hatsune yelled back, no different from Sakiko. Their eyes locked, fierce determination on both’s faces.

“I’m trying to help you!” Sakiko screamed louder than before, pressing harder into Hatsune’s shoulders. She just needed her to listen!

“You asked me to help you!” Hatsune shot back, reminding her of that day now so long ago.

“You never ask, you just make me have to help you!” Sakiko pressed harder still, her vision going red.

“You don’t have to help me! I’m here for you!” Hatsune screamed, her throat feeling like she had liquified and gargled sandpaper.

“I want to help you!” Sakiko slammed down harder. “I love you, you fucking idiot!” Hatsune flinched in pain and astonishment, all of Saki’s weight pressing down on her shoulders. It wasn’t much in the grand scheme of things, but it was still more than the fronts of a human shoulder were supposed to be pressed on. Sakiko seemed to realize what she had done, shooting up and beginning to panic.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t…” Sakiko began to stammer to herself, wrenching at her hands. Hatsune sat up, wrapped her arms around her, and pulled her back down, holding her in her embrace.

“It’s okay, Saki-chan. It’s okay.” Hatsune soothingly shushed her, her tone back to comforting, her voice quiet, beautifully feeling like velvet in Sakiko’s ears. Hatsune pet her hair, softly rocking her back and forth. “It’s okay.” Hatsune heard Sakiko start to cry.

“Please, I love you, Saki-chan. I’m here for you. It’s okay. Saki-chan, it’s okay.” Hatsune continued, letting Sakiko sob into her. It hurt. Her shoulders hurt. Wrapping her arms around Sakiko hurt. Sakiko’s head against her sore shoulder hurt. It was okay. Sakiko needed her.

Sakiko sobbed until she was out of tears to cry. She sniffled, snorted, and found herself forced to breathe out of her mouth to breathe at all. She melted into Hatsune’s soothing arms. Hatsune loved her. Hatsune was there for her.

“Saki-chan?” Hatsune asked. Sakiko turned to her. “I’m happy so long as I can help you.” Sakiko waited, breathing and trying to make sure she could speak without losing composure again.

“I feel the same way.” Sakiko said, her voice weak.

“No, you don’t.” Hatsune replied, shaking her head. She looked at Sakiko somberly. “You care about more than me. You care about Ave Mujica. You care about yourself. You care about Tomori-chan and all of the members of Crychic. You care about Rāna-chan and Anon. You care about your father. You even care about my father.” Hatsune’s strength and conviction grew with every word.

“I don’t feel anything like that.” She admitted. Sakiko’s face turned to shock, her eyes and already-open mouth widening. She pulled herself up, resting her hands against the bed to prop herself up this time. “I don’t care about my father. What I’ve done to Uika, to my sister, she probably hates me now. She has to know, with how famous I am. Under her name.” Sakiko gave a nodding pout, knowing Hatsune was probably right.

“I don’t care about Ave Mujica. I care that you care about Ave Mujica. I care that you care about the others. If one day, Saki-chan hated them, I would take your side.” Hatsune looked at Sakiko. She wondered if that’s how she looked at Hatsune.

“Tomori-chan…” Hatsune took a deep breath. “She reminded me of you. That’s why I cared. And she makes you happy.” Hatsune sighed. “So, I care about that.” A loud pop rang out in the room. Sakiko had slapped her. Hatsune didn’t seem to mind.

“You care!” Sakiko screamed, crying once more. I see you with Ave Mujica! I see how you watch Mutsumi and Nyamu, how you smile giggle when they manage to fight and flirt at the same time! I see you smile when Umiri talks about Taki-chan and looks so cute with her joy! I see you looking so proud whenever we watch MyGO!!!!! perform, looking at Tomori! Quit lying to me! Quit lying to yourself!” Saki screamed at her, her heart beating a mile a minute and tears flowing like rivers. “You care about everyone! You care about everyone except yourself!”

Hatsune couldn’t respond. Sakiko was right. All she could do was silently cry, Sakiko staring down at her, panting and sobbing onto her, her hair hanging down and framing her face.

“I care…” Sakiko began to speak, barely above a whisper. “I care about you. I love you. If you can’t care about yourself, I have to care about you for both of us.” Sakiko breathed heavily. “It’s so much…” she choked back a sob. “If you care about me so much, care about yourself. I don’t want to be the only one here who cares about you.” With that, she stayed there, breathing heavily.

Hatsune continued to lay there in silence. That was what Saki-chan wanted from her? But how was she supposed to do that? She wasn’t important. She was just something to be ashamed of. She was someone who only could exist in the skin of another. But she was important, to Saki-chan. Was Saki-chan wrong to consider her important? That couldn’t be it. Saki-chan wasn’t wrong. She was her guiding light. She saved her. She made her dreams come true, to be by her side. For the rest of her life. Saki-chan couldn’t be wrong. But why? Why her? Because she loved her, and because she loved her too.

“Please. Hatsune, please.” Sakiko whispered. “Help me when I ask you for help. Take care of yourself.” Sakiko’s tears continued to drip on Hatsune’s bare skin.

“But…” Hatsune paused, thinking to herself. “Will you tell me if you need help?” It was a valid question. Sakiko was, after all, bad at that.

“I will.” Sakiko spoke firmly, looking up at Hatsune. “I promise.”

“Okay.” Hatsune’s body seemed to lose strength the moment she spoke, relaxing into the bed. She closed her eyes, letting herself rest her eyes at least. “I’ll… I’ll try. For Saki-chan.”

“Thank you.” Sakiko rolled off Hatsune and pushed her to prompt her to roll over on her side. She wrapped her arms around Hatsune’s waist and pulled herself close, holding Hatsune’s body against her. She was so warm. Her hair smelled comforting. Sakiko could melt into this, into the safety of Hatsune’s soft body against hers. They stayed like this for a while, feeling each other’s breathing calm and slow as they cuddled, holding each other close and being each other’s home.

Hatsune broke the quiet with a sigh. “Saki-chan…” Hatsune began. Saki seemed to be pulled from a near-slumber.

“Yes?” Sakiko responded.

“You need a bath.” Hatsune giggled a little, and Sakiko released her hold and shot out of bed.

“H-h-hey! We were having a sweet moment!” Sakiko stammered out, utterly shocked by the change in tone.

“I’m sorry!” Hatsune whined, sitting up to look at her now-standing girlfriend. “But… you smell awful.” Hatsune cringed at the admission.

“Is this revenge for earlier?!” Hatsune laughed at Sakiko’s flustered reaction.

“No, it’s just the truth.” Hatsune smiled. Really. It was.

Sakiko composed herself and began undressing. “This is definitely revenge for earlier.” Hatsune’s breath hitched in her throat almost immediately. Sakiko’s shirt, pajama pants, and panties were gone in a flash, and now her love was bare in front of her for the first time in days. Her skin still looked flawless, the only real change was the light patch of light blue pubic hair that had grown slightly since she had last bathed, having been given days without shaving. Sakiko was magical to Hatsune. Her beautiful pale, soft, smooth skin seemingly shimmering in the light, her petite form only serving to drive Hatsune more wild, her bright pink nipples standing out so divinely on her adorable breasts, her fragile-looking limbs making her almost truly seem like a doll.

“Very well, I’ll clean up.” Sakiko said, heading to the door, her usual elegance and grace returning, all the more stunning on her nude form.

“Wait!” Hatsune leapt to her feet, running to Sakiko. Sakiko turned to look at her. “Let me join you.” Hatsune smiled. Sakiko paused for a second and smiled back at her.

“Okay, then get undressed.” Sakiko barely had finished before Hatsune was nude too. Sakiko couldn’t help but stare for a moment, even after all the times she’d seen it. Hatsune’s body really was perfect, far better than her own. Toned, thin but strong, not too pale, her breasts a perfect size, not too big or small, her brownish nipples matching her body perfectly, her long legs perfect for locking around Sakiko’s head, she was beautiful.

Hatsune blushed, feeling Sakiko’s gaze upon her. No matter how many times it happened, she never got used to it. Sakiko couldn’t hide her desires from her, even her ability to mask wasn’t strong enough for that. It only made Hatsune cuter to Sakiko. Saki took her by the hand, leading her to the bathroom. Tonight was going to be alright.

Notes:

All hail the editing process, bane of my existence because it makes me read my writing and yet required to feel confident about my writing. Around 2/5ths this fic was written on the editing pass. Four hours of work in total, including short breaks when my hands hurt too much or my mind wandered.

The song for the title this time is Leave A Scar by Marilyn Manson. It’s one of my favorite songs, and while it isn’t the main inspiration for the fic it sure is one of them. I think that song says a lot about what my favorite characters are, lol.

I swear I’ll actually write smut for them eventually. This wasn’t planned or anything, this fic slammed into my brain seven hours ago and I had to write it.
