Work Text:
It has been 3 hours.
Mion ordered themself some Dominos for new years, it was basically the perfect order if you were to ask them. A Margherita pizza with garlic bread, it was cheap and delicious, the only part holding them back was the fact that it has been 3 HOURS and their dominos isn’t even here yet.
They did message the delivery man a couple of times, but apparently he said something about his car breaking down so he has to walk to pick up the order and deliver it. Jesus christ what a pain.
Mion was sitting on their couch while they scrolled on social media while checking the order tracker every few minutes, but it felt like the delivery man hasn’t moved an inch, he’s definitely getting rated zero stars after this.
While Mion was drinking a half empty can of coke they found at the back of their fridge, they saw a post relating to the fact that ao3 will be down for maintenance in a couple of days, what.
Mion deadass thought they were hallucinating when they first saw the post, but no, the ao3 twitter account literally said the exact same thing. They were about to pass out, well not really but, you get the deal.
Mion was the author for a really popular fanfic featuring their two favourite characters ever, Mizi and Sua. It was a beautiful slow-burn modern AU fanfic that they were super proud of, and in their latest chapter, they promised to get chapter 17 out on new years or the day after, yet barely any progress was made. So maybe this was an opportunity.
The Utaite was sat on their couch, frantically pulling out their laptop and logging on onto the google document with the fanfic’s progress, ready for their beta reader, Ogura Noriko to read. They made a new document tab as they wrote down all their ideas, dumb or not.
It may have taken 2 hours of pure dedication and work, but they finally did it. They finished chapter 17 of their Mizisua fanfic, it was one of the most important chapters in their opinion, it was where Sua confronts Mizi about her true feelings and how she feels about her. It was beautiful. Now they need to send it to Ogura, if she’s even awake.
When Mion pinged Ogura for what felt like the 19th time, she finally said she will sit down and read the fic, she didn’t even hesitate on her answer, damn that is some sheer determination to that fanfiction. But when Mion logged back on and Ogura said everything was amazing, they gave a huge sigh of relief, they could publish this chapter for their readers before the maintenance shut down.
They typed in the chapter name, wrote an author's note, updated the tags, and they finished. Wrote around 10k words and edited it around 3-4 times, all that and their doordash still isn’t here. What a scam.
