Chapter Text
“A watch job?” Mista groaned, kicking his feet up, though they were swiftly hit down by Bruno.
“Yes. The boss said some important cargo needs to be watched.” Bruno explained, placing the file on the table.
“Hm… Seems fishy.” Abbacchio muttered from his perch, though he made no move to read the file. Fugo picked it up, flicking it open.
“Ugh, that sounds so boring!” Narancia grumbles as he lays sideways on the couch, kicking his feet, “can’t we hang out with Trish or something?”
“No, Doppio has her for the week.” Mista sighed, glancing over Fugo’s shoulder to skim. “What kind of cargo is even in it?”
“Doesn’t say,” Fugo muttered, tapping a finger against his bottom lip, “though if I had to guess-”
“Drugs.” Giorno finished, no one acknowledged his bitter or rude tone, an awkward silence fell over the group before Bruno spoke up again.
“We’ll only have to watch it for the night.” Bruno nodded, crossing his arms.
“But what happens if there's kids inside, or weapons?!” Narancia gulped.
“Doubt it, ever since we introduced Trish and the Boss, he’s become a massive girl dad, so I don’t think he’d deal in human trafficking, well… Anymore.” Mista shrugged.
“I don’t like the look of this, Bucciarati.” Abbacchio repeated himself, crossing his arms.
“You don’t like the look of anything.” Mista scoffed, rolling his eyes, though he shrunk away when Abbacchio gave him a glare.

“This place gives me the creeps.” Narancia frowned, the port was silent and mostly empty. A few drunk sailors here and there, some strange sounds coming from buildings, but besides that, it was empty.
“This is it.” Bruno hummed, unlocking the door, the warehouse was broken down, windows and doors were rusted, it stunk of sea water, mold and rotting fish. Inside was a simple, wooden crate with a locked door on it.
“Definitely drugs.” Mista nodded as soon as he saw, crossing his arms. Giorno let out a low, annoyed huff.
“Hey, at least it’s in here and not… um Narancia?” Fugo noticed the younger man had his stand summoned for reason, looking around the crate.
“Oi, Aerosmith can sense there’s CO2 coming from the box.” He muttered, rubbing his chin.
“What?” Bruno blinked.
The group went quiet, there was someone in that box. Bruno looked at Abbacchio, who looked a bit horrified, Giorno stepped forward.
“How many?” He asked, not sure if he wanted to hear that answer.
“Only one.” Narancia nodded. Bruno frowned again, someone was being kept in that box? For how long? Did the boss know about this?
“I need to go call the boss. No one opens or touches the box till I get back.” He ordered, pulling out his phone with a frown.
He stepped outside, shutting the door behind and walking a small distance away.
“C’mon pick up.” He sighed, tapping his foot as it dialed.
“Narancia broke it already, didn’t he?” Diavolo sighed as soon as he picked up the phone. “Or was it Mista this time around?”
“Did you know someone is the box?” Bruno asked, his tone firm.
“What?” Diavolo went quiet for a moment, “a… Like a whole person is in there?”
“Yes.”
“And you’re sure?”
“Aerosmith picked it up. We’re sure.” He nodded, even though the other man couldn’t see it.
“Fuck,” Diavolo sighed heavily, as if Trish and Doppio had already started yelling at him, “I didn’t know that. Team Nduja picked it up for an allied gang. Guess I’ll have Risotto and the other can take care of them.”
“What do we do though?” Bruno asked, before a loud crash rang out, he heard Narancia swear.
“Narancia just fell through the box didn’t he?” Diavolo asked when Bruno went quiet.
“Pretty sure, yes.” Bruno huffed.
“Well, check on them, get them food and water, and clothes if they need it.” Diavolo muttered, “I’ll send Doppio in the morning to take them to a hospital.”
“HOLY FUCK WAIT, WHAT?!” Mista suddenly yelled, loud and clear.
“Sorry boss, I have to go.”
“Good idea.”
Bruno hung up, running back into the warehouse, the box had been broken, sitting on a chair was a muscular man, chained by the throat, wrist, ankles and waist to a heavy chair, he seemed unconscious, but that wasn’t what shocked him.
It was the fact they all had seen him before, all in Giorno’s wallet.
This was his father.
