Work Text:
Violet grinned as she pulled open the door of her apartment, hands reaching out to yank the man before her in without a word.
She didn’t even shut the door before hauling him downwards, crashing their mouths together desperately. She could feel Xaden smirking into the kiss, his hands in her hair, tugging firmly as the door slammed shut behind her. He walked her into it, pinning her there with his body as he deepened the kiss. Violet let out a moan as their tongues curled together, her hands clutching at his shoulders, anchoring herself to the solid weight of him.
Violet pulled away first, her chest heaving as she sucked in ragged breaths. His hands moved to cup Violet’s cheeks, thumbs skimming her cheekbones as they breathed together.
“Hi,” she whispered, eyes still fluttering shut.
“Hi,” he replied, sounding far more put together than was fair.
He leaned in again, a gentle, reverent press of lips before touching their foreheads together. “I missed you.”
It had only been three long days since she’d been able to kiss him, since she’d been in his arms, and she really had missed him. They’d spent the remainder of her time there wrapped in each other’s worlds. He joined her at Liam’s coffee shop - Liam gave Violet the brother talk, which made her laugh, though she promised Liam this, whatever it was, wasn’t just for the season.
They spent time with Mira and Brennan, wasted time, Xaden had said, but Violet had loved having them there. And when she’d left him on the afternoon of the 27th, kiss-swollen lips and a memory of his hands in her hair, she’d almost turned back around. Only the thought of her friends kept her facing forward.
“If that’s the greeting I get every time…” he murmured into the space between them.
“I can think of much more interesting greetings,” she grinned wickedly, her hands sliding from his shoulders down his arms.
He groaned, pulling away from her with another touch of lips. “Don’t promise me a good time when we have somewhere to be.” He went to turn away, only for a mischievous glint to catch the light in his eyes, “unless you don’t mind missing the party, anyway.”
“Rhiannon might murder me if I don’t show…” she paused with a short laugh. “Or you. She’d blame you for keeping me away.”
He sighed and held out his hand, her fingers locking around his before speaking. “I’m rather attached to my life right now.”
She laughed, feeling heat rise in her cheeks at his words. “So am I.” His responding beam was worth everything.
Violet led him through the apartment, a small, one-bed place she lovingly called home. It was a simple layout: the kitchen and living room shared one open space, with the only other door leading to her bedroom and the tiny en-suite bathroom tucked discreetly within.
He didn’t comment on the stark difference in their lives, the estate that was his compared to this. Violet was glad. She’d worked to get this place, to get her life back together, and this had been her sanctuary. And Xaden was the first man to see it - Brennan was far too busy with work, and she always met Sawyer and Ridoc at Rhiannon’s. Dain was the only one who had complained. Pleading with her to see what she’d made for herself. She knew he’d offer to fix things or keep her company; that constant assumption of need was why she always said no.
Xaden dropped his bag on her bed, immediately at ease in her home.
“There’s towels in the bathroom, help yourself to what you need,” she said. His hungry eyes met hers at her wording, and Xaden smirked as she shivered but continued pointedly. “To get ready to leave.”
The smirk softened to a grin, but he disappeared into the bathroom, and Violet tried not to imagine what was hidden behind the door, particularly as she heard the shower turn on.
She got into her dress, a shimmering, strapless, knee-length black and gold item, the skirt not too tight around her legs, allowing her to move freely. She had just finished zipping the side when the bathroom door opened, Xaden stepped out, a towel wrapped low around his hips.
Violet froze, her breath catching in her throat. His dark hair, towel dried, still clung to his face as lingering steam dampened it. The smell of mint wafted to her, and she breathed it in eagerly.
She swallowed as her eyes took him in - nothing that she hadn’t seen before, but never quite like this, in her home, her bedroom. A spark of heat rushed through her, a visible flush decorating her chest up to her cheeks.
He made a point of tracing the lines of her body with his gaze, and the smirk that followed as their eyes met was pure, unadulterated pleasure.
“Violence,” he said, his voice deep and slightly husky. Her body shivered at the sound.
“We should be going soon,” she breathed out a shaky breath. Part of her wanted to stay, to ditch Ridoc, Rhiannon and their friends, but she knew she shouldn’t.
He looked at her pointedly, the teasing glint still in his eyes as he gestured to his bare chest and the towel barely hanging on to his waist. Violet licked her lips at the sight. “Would you like me to show up like this?”
“Get dressed,” she snapped immediately, giving him a playful roll of her eyes.
She made a hasty exit from her bedroom when he went to remove his towel, not because she didn’t want to see him - gods did she want to - but she didn’t really want to disappoint her friends. And watching Xaden walk around naked would certainly not help that plan.
He joined her a few minutes later in dark jeans and a smart black shirt, her eyes caught on all the places it strained against his muscles.
“Keep looking at me like that, Violence, and we won’t make it out the door,” he commented, his voice low.
“I don’t know what you’re on about,” she lied, swiftly averting her eyes.
She picked up her jacket, swinging it over her shoulders, checked that her key was in her purse, and headed towards the door, Xaden following at an even pace behind her.
Their fingers were entwined as they walked the ten minutes between Violet’s apartment and the house Rhiannon and Nyra had brought a year ago. Violet talked about her friends on the walk over, a short introduction so Xaden didn’t walk in blind.
Rhiannon - her best friend and the one most likely to give Xaden the ‘intentions’ talk, and her girlfriend Nyra. She mentioned the others quickly with short descriptions of them: Ridoc, Emery, Heaton, Nadia, Cam, Aurelie, Cianna, and Dyre. Sawyer and Jesinia would also be there; Violet explained that Jesinia was deaf and offered to translate any signing, only for Xaden to sign ‘no need’ to her, and Violet’s eyes widened in surprise.
And finally, Dain. He was the one Violet was nervous for Xaden to meet. Despite their failed attempt at a relationship, she was sure he still felt something for her.
Nyra met them at the door, studying Xaden with a quick measuring glance before letting them in.
“Drinks in the kitchen, everyone’s in the lounge,” Nyra said, heading back to the lounge before she’d finished speaking. Violet directed Xaden into the kitchen before darting off to the bathroom with an apologetic smile.
When she returned, Violet could hear Ridoc’s excited voice echoing through the corridors.
“Well, hello.” She’d heard him use that tone so many times she rolled her eyes and lingered in the doorway to listen as he carried on. “You look like you could strike fear into the hearts of enemies. Lucky for you, I’m immune to intimidation, and extremely susceptible to handsome men.” Ridoc smirked, looking proud of himself. Violet enjoyed the rise of Xaden’s brows and the icy, unimpressed stare he returned.
“Ridoc Gamlyn, don’t even think about it,” she said, finally stepping into the room.
“Violetttttt,” he whined, a slight slur telling Violet he’d had a few too many pre-drinks. “You can’t bring a treat like that—” a hand gestured to take in the whole of Xaden, “—in here and expect me to leave it be.”
Violet cocked a brow in response, giving Ridoc a hard stare of her own. “I can, and I have. Go and pester Sawyer instead. Or better yet, see if Rhi or Nyra need anything.”
He sulked out of the room as Violet moved to Xaden’s side, grabbing a cocktail can from the table after seeing that Xaden already had a beer in his hand.
“You ready?” she asked, holding out her hand in the same gesture he’d made earlier, and he laced their fingers together, letting her lead him through the house.
Violet was surprised at the lack of reaction from the room when she walked in, considering the only people who knew she was bringing a guest were Rhi and Nyra. Heaton and Emery sat together, their phones out and shared between them. Sawyer, Jesinia and Ridoc were teasing Nadine about something - or someone, Violet guessed. With the exception of Rhi and Nyra, who were currently making out on the sofa, the others were gathered at the table, a pack of cards shared between them.
The only person missing was Cam, the realisation made Violet frown. She hoped her break-up with his brother hadn’t made him feel like he couldn’t come, or worse that he didn’t want to. She distracted herself by heading towards the two women on the sofa, tapping Rhiannon’s shoulder to pull her attention away from Nyra’s mouth.
Rhiannon pulled back from Nyra, both turning glares on Violet, though Rhiannon’s eyes quickly widened as she took in the man next to Violet, her expression changing to one of intense, calculating appraisal.
Violet caught Rhiannon’s whispered words into Nyra’s ear, “I’ll be back in a minute,” before she stood, keeping hard eyes on Xaden as she grabbed both of their wrists. “Kitchen, now.” She hauled them through the corridor they’d only just walked through, not releasing their wrists until they were both through the door. Rhiannon turned to shut the door - an action Violet was grateful for - before rounding on Xaden.
It was a comical sight, Xaden casually towering over Rhiannon, who still managed to look the more terrifying of the two.
“Rhi,” Violet started, before Rhiannon had a chance to. She silenced Violet with a stare.
“Riorson,” she started, not backing down. “Violet’s my best friend, so I trust her judgment. But if you think you can use that to treat her wrong in any way, I promise you will find I’m very good at moving large objects like they’re nothing.”
“RHI!” Violet complained loudly, though she stopped at a sharp knock on the door.
It opened before any of them could give a response, and light brown curls became visible. Violet internally cursed, quickly moving towards the door as Dain stepped in, his eyes immediately honing onto her.
“Everything alright?” he asked softly, his hand rising to her cheek in a touch that was always too tender as his eyes flicked between hers.
Violet could feel Xaden’s eyes on her back, the weight of them causing her pulse to speed up, though she faintly heard him respond to whatever Rhiannon had said.
Violet let Dain have a few seconds before she took a step back. “We’re fine.”
“Vi?” Dain frowned, and it was then that his eyes seemed to glance past her. Violet and Rhiannon chatting privately was nothing new for any of their friends, but his eyes snagged on Xaden who was leaning with false calm against the worktop, his arms crossed in front of him.
Violet rolled her eyes between them, “Xaden, this is Dain,” she started, gesturing between them. “Dain, this is Xaden,” she hesitated, they hadn’t labelled it yet, and she hoped she didn’t scare Xaden off by doing so. “He’s my boyfriend.”
A genuine smile bloomed on Xaden’s mouth, one that both Violet and Rhiannon seemed to notice, if Rhiannon’s small smile in reaction was anything to go on. Dain’s face fell though, and he studied Xaden with more hostility than Violet had expected.
“Boyfriend?” Dain finally questioned, his eyes softening as they fell back on Violet. “Since when?”
“Recently,” she responded quietly. “Please leave it, Dain.”
“No Vi, you have a habit of picking guys that are wrong for you.” Violet’s brows drew together at the cruelness in his voice, she’d never heard Dain speak to anyone like that.
The doorbell ringing distracted them, and Violet took her chance to leave the room, darting around Dain with a pained look that had an apology starting to form on his lips, but she didn’t stay to hear it.
When Violet opened the door, Cam stepped into the foyer, cheerfully wrapping arms around Violet and lifting her off her feet to spin her in a circle before dropping her down and pulling back.
“Sorry I’m late, he took forever getting ready.” Cam gestured behind him with a roll of his eyes.
Violet stilled, her gaze finally falling on sandy-brown hair, piercing green eyes and a cocky mouth.
“Halden,” she said stiffly, barely aware of the eyes flicking between them.
“What’s he doing here?” Dain’s voice rose above the silence, grabbing the attention not just of Rhiannon and Xaden, but also those in the lounge. Violet flinched at the attention falling on them. Dain stepped forward, placing his body entirely between Violet and Halden.
“Clearly I’m missing something,” Cam said, eyeing the scene unfolding in front of him in confusion.
Violet stepped to the side so Dain wasn’t blocking her view again, and she didn’t remove her eyes from him even as she heard soft movements behind, and a solid warmth settled against her arm.
Xaden ducked his head to whisper in Violet’s ear. “You okay?”
She took his hand, squeezing it gratefully as she nodded.
“Clearly,” Dain’s voice snapped her attention back to the rest of the room, though she kept her hands linked with Xaden’s, a comforting pressure for her. “He cheated on her. She walked in on him fucking-”
“DAIN!” Violet shouted, a burst of white-hot fury fuelling her. “That is private.”
“Time for him to leave anyway,” Dain shrugged, and Violet wanted to slap him. She knew he’d cause a problem, but she didn’t expect him to be quite so stubborn.
“I’m sorry Vi,” Halden spoke finally, and he sounded utterly defeated, his voice breaking on the words. Violet wasn’t sure if the apology was for cheating or because he was standing in front of her.
Violet observed him for a minute, his untucked and slightly rumpled shirt, like he had put it on and taken it off a few times, his neatly trimmed beard, and the small bruise on the corner of his jaw.
“You’re about three months too late.” She didn’t wait for a response, tugging Xaden with her towards the lounge as they left Rhiannon, Cam and Dain to do as they wanted. They could invite him to stay, though she knew Rhiannon wouldn’t let that happen without checking with Violet first.
The eyes in the lounge followed them as Violet led them to sit with Sawyer and Jesinia. Cam showed up a minute later, a look of guilt in his eyes as he sat by Violet.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know,” he muttered, “I guess he took ages because he knew he shouldn’t be here. I just assumed he had an invite.”
She shook her head, putting a hand on his arm briefly. “Not your fault. Sorry I didn’t tell you, I sort of assumed he would.”
“He should have,” Cam said aggressively, before turning towards Xaden and holding a hand out. “I’m Cam.”
Xaden glanced at the proffered hand, then back up to Cam, and Violet tapped his arm until he shook it.
“Xaden.”
“If we hear that you’re not treating her well—”
Xaden cocked a brow, his mouth twitching in a brief, cold smile. “You won’t.” He wrapped an arm around Violet, and she sank into his side.
They spent the next hour chatting to Sawyer and Jesinia. Xaden relaxed beside her as their conversation started with work and then went onto Violet’s book and holiday.
“All good?” she asked during a quiet spell.
He nodded, squeezing arms around her.
“We can leave after the fireworks if you want,” she offered quietly, slipping her hand into his and tugging it lightly, pressing her body closer to his side. “I know how exhausting travel is.”
He smirked, ducking his mouth to her ear, his breath against her skin causing Violet to shiver. “If we’re leaving, Violence, it’s not because I need sleep.”
The mood in the room grew lighter again as the evening drew on, and the drinks flowed. Dain tried to talk to her once while Xaden was getting them both extra drinks, but Violet had just sighed tiredly.
“This is my choice, Dain. He’s my choice. Can you please respect that?”
He left her alone after that, spending time with Cianna and Aurelie. Violet was sure she’d hear from him again, but at least for now he would be silenced.
After some time, Rhiannon and Nyra joined them on the sofa, Rhi distracting Violet with conversation about her book which had come on massively in the past month while Nyra and Xaden talked over them.
It wasn’t until Nyra moved to pour out the champagne that Violet realised the time, quarter to midnight, and Rhiannon encouraged them all outside not long after.
Violet gripped her champagne glass in one hand, her other laced with Xaden’s, something that had become immediately comfortable.
They’d all left Nyra to the fireworks, she seemed to have a particular proclivity for pyrotechnics that Rhiannon openly declared was “so hot”. Rhiannon left them to join Nyra while the others gathered around the stone patio.
Xaden stayed pinned to Violet’s side, not that she would’ve let him go if he wanted to. Sawyer had to shoo Ridoc away with a frustrated huff. He went to pester Cam, Aurelie and Nadia instead - Violet was sure she heard Ridoc offering New Years Kisses - while Emery, Heaton, Dain, and Cianna gathered together in the middle.
Rhiannon started the countdown, her personal trainer voice easily carrying over the distance.
“TEN!”
Everyone joined in.
“NINE! EIGHT! SEVEN!”
Xaden squeezed Violet’s hand, drawing her attention to him with a grin that she returned.
“SIX! FIVE! FOUR!”
She could hear the clink of glasses around her, her own rested forgotten between her fingers until Xaden gently relieved her of it, placing it on a nearby table.
“THREE!”
Violet released Xaden’s hand, sliding her fingers up and over his shoulders to link behind his head.
“TWO!”
She felt his hand suddenly against the nape of her neck, tightening perfectly to create a hot pressure that chased away the cool air.
“ONE!”
She rose to meet him part way as his lips descended onto hers, his kiss possessive, consuming. She barely heard the shouts of “Happy New Year” from around them. The ground shook from the explosion of colour around them. His hand tightened in her hair, and the world fell silent as Xaden deepened the kiss, the shudder of the earth mixing with the tremor in her body.
When they broke apart, they were both breathing heavily. Xaden held her close, and Violet - still standing on her toes - tucked her chin over Xaden’s shoulder, her arms tight around him. The ringing in Violet’s ears slowly faded, and the bubble of chatter grew around her.
“Happy new year, Xaden” she breathed into his ear, pressing her lips to his neck briefly.
“Happy new year, Violet,” he repeated back, tilting his head to press a kiss to her temple.
They finally separated to wish the rest of the room likewise, Xaden lingering off to the side and practically downing his drink as everyone hugged Violet.
“You finished already?” Violet asked, eyeing the empty glass when she managed to return to Xaden’s side.
“Nope,” he grinned as he raised her glass to his lips by the stem, a tell-tale mark of lip gloss marking the rim. She reached for it just as his lips touched the spot and tilted the glass. It was possible he did manage to get a sip, but Violet’s hands gripped the glass and pulled it away. His pout was adorable, Violet pressed a kiss to his lips to draw it out further, but she pulled away before he could pull her in and threw back the rest of the drink quickly.
Xaden cocked a brow at her, amusement crossing his features.
“What?” Violet shrugged, she, Rhiannon, Ridoc and Dain had drank far worse previously.
“Are you that desperate to leave?” he smirked, and she felt her cheeks warm.
“Well, I wouldn’t be opposed,” she bit her lip, and Xaden’s thumb drew it back out again. “Let me go say bye to them.”
It was a quick goodbye for most of them. Rhiannon pulled her into another hug and told her to be careful, and to share all the gossip. She glared at Xaden until Violet slapped her arm. Ridoc begged to join them, and Dain mumbled something about where Xaden was staying, which Violet didn’t deign to answer. Sawyer, Jesinia and Nyra all said a friendly bye to Xaden, and she did catch Rhiannon being polite to him, if only to say goodbye.
His fingers wrapped comfortingly around her hip as they took the short walk home, his thumb traced teasing circles against her dress, causing it to ride up subtly. He chuckled as she tugged it down before leaning into him, a low hum escaping her throat as Xaden relentlessly continued the repetitive motion again.
She pulled away reluctantly as they arrived at her door, relieved when her fingers grasped the key in her purse. She didn’t unlock the door, just left the key in the lock and turned with a teasing glance along his body as she blocked the door.
“Thanks for walking me home,” she said lightly, her grin widening at the surprise that flashed on his face.
He tilted his head, taking a step towards her, his warmth immediately encasing her as he raised his hands to rest palms against the door, either side of her head. “Violence,” he growled.
“I never said you could come back in,” she bit her bottom lip, her gaze locked on his mouth.
His eyes narrowed, and she whimpered at the loss of his warmth as he suddenly pushed off the door and took a step backwards. “Okay. See you-”
He didn’t get a chance to finish, Violet snatched his arm, tugging him back against her as she surged up to meet his lips.
She gasped as he slammed her back against the door, his hands instantly raised to protect her head before trapping her against it as they fought for dominance, lips moving desperately together.
When Xaden pulled back, attaching his lips to her jaw, she let out a breathless whine. “Don’t you dare fucking leave.”
Violet hadn’t realised Xaden’s hand had moved until the pressure of the door disappeared, quickly replaced by an arm keeping her upright as he walked her backwards, blindly, into her apartment.
The door slammed shut behind them, and before she could register the new space, Xaden’s hands were on her waist, lifting her with surprising gentleness onto the kitchen table, her legs around his hips. Her neck arched as his teeth grazed down the sensitive skin, shivers wracked her body at the sensation.
“Xaden,” she breathed, her hands gripping his chin with enough pressure to direct him up, their eyes meeting, blue-hazel to black.
He shifted his weight, still close, but no longer pressing against her. “Violence?” His gaze was piercing, eyes a black void Violet was quickly lost in, and she leaned towards him again, but Xaden took a small step backwards, white-knuckled fingers gripping the table either side of her legs. “Promise me,” he murmured, his voice tight with restraint. “Promise me you still want this. All of it. Not just tonight.”
Violet’s chest tightened at his words, her eyes widened, giving herself a brief chance to wonder what hurt brought those words on. She reached for his arms, pulling him back towards her, her eyes fixed on his. “All of it, Xaden,” she promised softly. The few days apart had only strengthened that realisation for her.
“All of it,” he repeated back to her, a promise of his own as he pressed their lips back together.
She squealed a laugh as he scooped her up, her ankles linking behind him, her dress hitched up to her hips, and he didn’t break the kiss as he strode towards the bedroom.
He sat on the bed, her on top of him, her legs still linked behind him as he tugged her closer, a gasp escaping her at the sudden feel of him beneath her. She rolled her hips downwards, a satisfying grunt muffled against her skin, and he retaliated with calloused hands skimming over her thighs, to her hips, holding them in place as he thrust his hips upwards, her mouth falling open at the motion. Their bodies continued to rock together, taunting her with the friction while his hands continued the movement, pushing the dress up and breaking the kiss just long enough to pull it over her head.
His eyes glazed quickly over her red lace bra, hands trailed teasingly over her sides. Violet shuddered as his thumbs slid beneath the lace and wire, stroking the underside of her breast.
“No fair,” she said, her voice shaking as her hands moved to untuck his shirt and start on the buttons, her fingers lingering teasingly on each strip of skin revealed. “Too many clothes.”
Xaden chuckled, leaning forward to nip at her collarbone. “I think it’s perfect,” he said huskily. His hands reached around her back as he nibbled a fresh patch of skin, a moan escaping Violet as he soothed it with his tongue at the same moment he unclasped her bra. She didn’t let it slide off her arms until she’d finished with his shirt, shoving it and his jacket over his shoulders and dropping them on the floor, her bra falling on top.
Violet’s hands traced over the hard muscle that had taunted her for weeks, an urge to run her tongue through every defined line if he’d let her. Somehow she thought he might.
Without a warning he rolled them again, her back pressed into the bed, and her skin pebbled at the sudden loss of his warmth. He stood to the side, his eyes taking her in, smouldering, and he smirked at her as his hand went to his belt, unbuckling it with one hand and whipping it away in a move that was entirely too sexy. He went straight to his trouser button, popping it open and kicking off his trousers, clambering straight back onto the bed, arms bracketing hers as he leaned back in for a hungry kiss.
Breaking the kiss, he slid slowly downwards, lips, teeth and tongue grazing her skin. Violet’s back arched off the bed as hot breath ghosted a nipple, her hands clenched into the bedsheets as he shifted his weight onto one arm, teasing the other nipple between his fingers.
His hand dipped lower, playing with her underwear as his mouth encased over the peak, warmth warring with cold when he released it for the other.
When his fingers finally reached their destination, frustrated by the remaining fabric, Violet’s hips bucked upwards in a desperate plea, momentarily pressing his fingers further into the dampness of her arousal just before he pulled it away. She whimpered out a complaint at the loss.
“Patience, Violence,” he rasped, his breath hot against her skin. “If I get my hands on you, really, honestly get my hands on you, I don’t know if I’ll be able to stop. I want this to last.”
“Don’t want you to stop,” she pleaded. She moved a hand to trail down his chest, stopping at the band of his boxers for a second before slipping her hand lower, cupping the bulge of his erection and squeezing it.
“Fuck, Violet,” he groaned, his eyes falling shut momentarily as she shoved the fabric down his hips, as far as she could reach. Her hand came back to his cock, gripping it solidly, running her palm along it confidently.
He gave her what she wanted then, his hand slipped back between her thighs, tearing away the wet fabric of her underwear.
His fingers slid blissfully through her arousal, and he kissed her deeply as he slid a finger inside, teasing with the scape of nails and finger pads. He worked a second finger in quickly, causing Violet to gasp against his lips, the sensation of the stretch divine. Her hips rose to meet his thrusting fingers as they worked, drawing her tighter, an electric current about to burst.
His fingers kept moving as she came down from her high, tremors wracking her body. She whimpered when the sensitivity grew, and Xaden withdrew his fingers, not hesitating when he put them in his mouth, his appreciative, deep moan mixing with her breathless one.
He was gone for a moment, the sharp snap of foil ripping the only noise beyond their breaths. When he kissed her again, she lined him up, his hips coming forward without hesitation as she directed him to her entrance. Her eyes fluttered closed, back arching off the bed as he pressed into her.
His groan vibrated against Violet’s lips as she rolled her hips, encouraging him further, deeper. Desperate for more, she clenched around him, drawing a curse from his throat. As their hips met, their mouths broke apart and she gasped, his movements steady, firm, pushing her back towards the edge faster than she could blink.
“I need- I need-” she whimpered, hands reaching to clutch his shoulders.
“Shhh, Violence,” Xaden growled. “I know what you need.”
His hand slipped between them; she keened as fingers scraped over her already sensitive clit, her body jerking at the sensation that heated her body. Her nails dug into his shoulders as she toppled over the edge again, neck and back arching up to meet him as she clenched around him. He didn’t stop moving, fingers and cock dragging over her.
“So. Fucking. Beautiful,” he punctuated each word with a thrust of his hips and swipe of fingers, tremors still shaking her body as he encouraged her towards another dizzying orgasm. His control wavered as their bodies met, his head falling into her neck, biting at the soft, sensitive skin - the fierce gentleness so at odds with the hurried drive of his hips.
They met their climax together, Xaden’s weight falling against Violet’s shuddering body. Her hands slid into his hair, combing fingers through unruly dark locks as he breathed against her neck, a tingling sensation as hot breath met the damp skin.
“Xaden?” she croaked, head tipping to the side to kiss his temple.
He mumbled something unintelligible against her neck before slowly pushing away. Violet whimpered as the movement caused him to slide out of her, immediately desperate for that pressure back again.
But Xaden pressed kisses to her face before moving away. She watched him remove the condom and disappear into her bathroom, returning a minute later with a damp wash cloth.
“You don’t have to-” Violet started, her cheeks heating despite herself. She’d never had someone take care of her post-sex before.
“I want to,” he interrupted. Violet was almost resentful of how put together he seemed considering what he’d just done to her.
She let him, squirming as the rough cloth scraped against her still throbbing skin. She still got up afterwards though, heading quickly to the bathroom as he climbed into bed, still entirely, delectably naked.
When she returned to the room, Violet could feel Xaden’s eyes on her from where he was resting against the pillows. She slid in next to him, pressing a soft kiss to his lips as his arms tangled around her, pulling her closer. She curled up into his side, head resting over the steadying beat of his heart.
“Happy New Year, Xaden,” she murmured.
She felt his lips on her hair, a soft press against her scalp and she sighed into the feeling.
“Happy New Year, Violet,” he breathed softly, arms tensing as they held her close.
She was lulled to sleep within the safety of his arms, the warmth of his body and the deep thrum of his heart beneath her ear.
