Inferno slowly onlined to pain in most of his cables and sensors. Which.. Should not be possible because the last thing he remembered was grocery shopping for his neighbors.. Plus, he hadn't transformed. He opened his optics to a white ceiling. Where..?
"Ah you're awake." A voice spoke softly.
He looked to the side, seeing a white and red mech. "Red?"
"Hi." Red Alert smiled. "Last time we saw each other was at the after party after graduation where someone lit a fire in the bathroom."
Inferno chuckled. "And we both knocked into each other trying to race to it."
"You're not a spy, are you? Your witness statement was thorough but it is too convenient to not remember how you got to that place."
"I can't remember because they messed up my systems." He offered a data cable. "You can connect and I'll let you see."
Red Alert stiffened. He mulled it over, but agreed. They connected and Inferno let his friend check his systems. Red's consciousness was almost overwhelming but it comforted Inferno. With how many false alerts Red had sent during school, Inferno had been the only bot remaining friends with him, they knew each other, and wouldn't hurt each other.
"You're telling the truth." Red Alert disconnected. "You should have watched your back more closely. You never know who is going to jump you. Someone will, trust me."
"Glad I have you then." He smiled.
Red Alert tilted his head away, blushing. He paused. "Why didn't you tell me you were Other? You didn't trust me? I could've made you feel safer."
"Didn't wanna ruin our friendship."
"I'm paranoid but not an idiot. We promised to be friends."
"We can start over. Hi, I'm Inferno and I'm an Other."
Red Alert laughed. "Don't be an idiot!" He took Inferno's hand. "I've got you now."
"Yeah." He smiled softly.
