Work Text:
Even pouring down rain, Chan meanders home slowly. His apartment is a cavernous void of loneliness, and the idea of going back to it and spending another night trying and failing to feel warm is woefully unappealing.
Regardless of his desire to not go home, he eventually trudges down the alley towards the side door of his apartment building. He can't afford to get sick, and this February rain is being particularly unkind. He’s fumbling with the number pad on the door when movement catches his eye.
Turning, he sees the flash of a matted tail before it disappears into a cardboard box behind the trash bin. Surely no one left their cat out in weather like this right? There aren't any strays as far as he knows in the area.
Hesitantly, he walks over to the box and squats to see inside, still a short distance away. In the back of the soaked cardboard, a small kitten lays curled in a tight ball, shivering. The kitten is soaked, thinning fur plastered to his small form, because of the rain. He's a pretty cream color, and Chan suspects he has a beautifully long and fluffy coat when dry.
Chan reaches his hand out towards the box. The kitten’s nose twitches slightly but he makes no move to get up. “Hi little one, I’m not going to hurt you. I promise.”
It feels like he squats there for an hour before the kitten moves towards his hand. But eventually he feels a small nose against the tip of his finger. He feels a smile creep onto his face. “Would you like to be warm, little one?”
The kitten looks at him before there's a quick flick of a rough tongue against his finger. Taking that as a yes, he keeps his movement slow as he reaches down to scoop the kitten up. Chan’s heart aches; the poor thing is barely bigger than his hand, and is basically quaking in the cold.
Chan readjusts his scarf, securing it tighter, before nestling the kitten inside. The little thing is so light, barely putting any pressure on Chan’s neck. Chan’s mind is filled with worries. When has the kitten eaten last? Whose kitten is this? Why is this emaciated little thing shivering out in a February rain storm?
He hurries upstairs, practically kicking his shoes into the wall. His scarf has done a decent job at drying the kitten so far, but he still grabs one of his fluffy towels and bundles the kitten up. The little thing can hardly keep his eyes open.
Finally, once the kitten is dry, Chan pulls the covers up around himself, placing the kitten on top of his chest.
When he wakes up in the morning, more well rested than he’s felt in a while, he finds the kitten has gotten even closer and is snuggled into the hollow of his neck.
He pets gently over the kitten’s matted fur. It’s time to give the kitten a proper bath. Chan checked for fleas and ticks last night, but couldn't be bothered with a bath at 3 am for some dirt. He’ll wash his sheets too.
“Hi, little one.” Chan strokes softly over one of his tiny triangular ears. “How about a nice warm bath? Huh? We’ll make your fur all soft and fluffy.”
The kitten seems to like having his ear pet, because he pushes even more into Chan’s hand. Either he's never heard the word bath before or he's too busy enjoying the pets to care.
As he pours water over a surprisingly docile kitten, his heart gets lodged in his throat. The kitten is tiny and most certainly underfed, probably days away from starving.
He can't imagine why anyone would have thrown this kitten out in the cold. For being so scared initially, the kitten is such a sweetheart, purring brokenly and nuzzling into his hands as he massages some gentle fragrance free soap through the matted fur. He even willingly hands Chan his paws and tail to wash as well.
He scoops the kitten out of the sink with a towel, and cradles the little burrito against his chest as he lets the water drain and wipes off the sink. The kitten seems quite pleased with the arrangement, as he closes his eyes and purrs against Chan’s chest.

Animal behaviorists would probably hate him, because he spoils the kitten rotten. He goes to the store after he gives the kitten a bath and looks at all the cat food options in disgust. Instead, he heads straight for the fish counter and asks for two huge slabs of salmon and tuna. He supplements it with carrots and broccoli from the produce section and an extra bag of rice to replace his dwindling supply.
Once home, he steams the broccoli and carrots with the rice and slices the fish into small kitten-sized pieces while his rice cooker runs.
He really shouldn’t let the kitten sit on his counter either, but after the fourth time of almost tripping over the little guy, he compromises - he’ll wipe down the counter after.
Seemingly, the kitten just wants to be close to him, because now that Chan is in view, the kitten is content to lay there watching him slice through the fish. He’s well behaved too, because despite his tiny nose twitching furiously next to the fish, he remains where he is, simply watching.
When the rice cooker beeps, he plates a small amount of rice and vegetables and adds the small pieces of fish, before setting it down in front of the kitten on the counter.
“Thank you for being so patient, little one.” Chan gently rubs his thumb over the shell of the kitten's ear. “Here's your food.”
All the kitten’s earlier patience is gone now. He scarfs down the chunks of fish and crunches through the softened veggies. Chan watches out of the corner of his eye as he eats his own breakfast at the counter.
He’s halfway through his own food when the kitten finishes. Stumbling over, the kitten nuzzles into his hand.
“Oh,” Chan says quietly, listening to the kitten purr. “Is someone sleepy now that he’s full?”
The kitten practically collapses every time he rubs his face on Chan’s arm. His heart aches for the little thing.
“All you needed was a little love, huh.” Chan scoops the kitten against his chest. He’ll pretend that the kitten bunting his head into Chan’s chest is his way of saying yes. After he presses a kiss to the kitten’s forehead, he grabs his laptop to work from home for the day. And if he works the rest of the afternoon laying on the couch with the sleeping kitten on his chest, well, that’s not anyone’s business.
He’s more productive that afternoon than he has been in a while anyway.

He can’t, however, work from home forever. He has to make it back to his studio. As he sits on the ground, tying his shoes, the kitten paws softly at his leg. He didn’t know it was possible for a cat to look so pathetic and sad. Lifting the kitten, he presses a kiss to the soft fur between his ears. “I’m sorry, little one. You can’t come with me. I’ll be back by six tonight, I promise. Just in time for your dinner.”
Chan has to not look back at the kitten as he walks out the door, because he thinks if he looks back and sees those sad, round eyes, he’ll break and never leave home again.
His studio is in a huge high rise down the street. He finally owns the small space after years of renting, and if he’s being honest, up until now, he’s spent more time there than his actual apartment.
Chan’s definitely way too attached to the kitten already, because he feels hollow in his studio today. He keeps thinking about the little thing curled up on his chest, purring contentedly, and he wants that back. He realizes that really, he just swaps between a lonely studio and a lonely apartment for most of his life.
But now he has someone to go home too. For the first time in a long time, he saves his current track as soon as the clock hits five, and is still shoving his laptop in the bag as he walks out the door.
As he opens the door to his apartment, he’s immediately met with the kitten sitting on the ledge of the entranceway, tail swishing against the tile. “Hi little one, did you miss me too?” Chan sits on the ledge and the kitten immediately hops onto his lap. Maybe Chan is just being overly optimistic, but he thinks the kitten already looks a little healthier even after only a few days. If nothing else, he’s certainly happier, shoving his head into Chan’s stomach and purring.

The kitten has been living with him for almost two weeks when Minho announces he’s coming over for dinner that night. The panther hybrid who used to be his neighbor refused to let their weekly dinner nights go even after moving out of the complex. He claims that ‘Chan isolates himself too much’ and ‘without his cooking, Chan might starve’. He tried to argue in the past and Minho asked what he had done for dinner the past three nights. Chan thinks about how he skipped dinner the last five nights to sit in the studio and work until well past two in the morning, and wisely stopped fighting Minho on dinner one night a week.
Chan’s excited that he’ll actually have something to tell Minho about. The panther may be prickly around strangers, but that sentiment does not extend to cats. Minho has three of his own that he’s always eager to show off in his latest round of pictures.
So needless to say, when Chan opens the door, his little one perched cutely on his shoulder, Minho’s blank reaction startles him. Minho stares directly at the little kitten like he’s trying to see through to his bones.
The kitten doesn’t seem pleased either, letting out a sad sound and curling further into Chan’s neck, like Chan can hide him away from the world.
“Sorry, he’s been so sweet with me. I didn’t think he’d be shy with other people.” Chan says, petting the kitten in what he hopes is a reassuring way.
Minho narrows his eyes, but eventually says, “it’s fine, some cats are … nervous around hybrids,” as he places his shoes on the rack near Chan’s door.
Dinner goes well, although, despite trying to encourage him to stay with extra tuna, as soon as Chan lets the kitten off of his shoulder, he makes himself scarce, disappearing somewhere off into Chan’s apartment.
Chan doesn’t think anything of it until Minho is getting ready to go. He’s holding the door open for him, when Minho tugs him outside. He fixes Chan with a slightly angry gaze. “Your cat is a hybrid. He’s lying to you.”
Chan’s heart stops, “what do you mean?”
One of Minho’s ears flicks in what is probably annoyance. “I can smell him Chan; hybrids can smell each other. There’s a difference between what a normal cat and hybrid smell like. And I’m telling you: he is a hybrid. And clearly since you didn’t mention it, he hasn’t told you.”
His little one …. is a hybrid?
“He must have a reason,” Chan frowns. “I can't undersell how skinny and hurt he was when I found him, Minho. He was in terrible shape. Wherever he came from, it was bad.”
“Don't let him hurt you.” Minho bears his teeth, growling - the hybrid has never been good at reining in the panther when he cares about things. “I don't care how hurt he was before. If he hurts you, Chan, I’ll make him regret being born.”
“Minho,” Chan says softly.
“No, Chan. Hybrids have absolutely scammed softhearted people like you this way. You’re too busy viewing him as a little harmless kitten.” Minho turns to go. “Stop letting people walk all over you.”
Okay, maybe Chan has let some of his clients take slight advantage of him in the past, and he’s done a little more than he was compensated for, but he doesn’t think that makes him gullible. Just honest. Besides, Chan can’t fathom a hybrid being willing to starve himself to the brink of death in the mere hope that someone would come along. Sure, the kitten can’t speak and say thank you, but he’s been so sweet and well behaved. Now that Chan knows he’s a hybrid, he thinks maybe the kitten was trying to say thank you in the only way he felt safe to do.
When Chan comes back inside, he’s met with silence. He’s been so used to the little one greeting him at the door with happy tail flicks and deep purrs that he’s almost upset with how much he misses it. He feels insane, wants to cry. He can't lose his kitten. He hardly even cares that it’s technically a hybrid lying to him. The aching void of loneliness inside him has lessened over the past month because of his little kitten.
They can work this out, he’s sure of it. He just has to find the hybrid first.

He all but tears his entire apartment apart. The downside of the kitten being so small is that it’s easy for him to hide. Finally, Chan finds him in the bedroom. The kitten is pressed up against the wall under his bed, eyes wide and terrified as he stares out at Chan from the back corner.
“Please, little one. I’m not mad. I promise. I don't want to lose you.” Chan says laying down on the ground. “I’m not going to kick you out.”
Chan thinks he lays on the ground with his arm outstretched for a full five minutes before the hybrid moves. The kitten slowly ambles over to him, skipping his hand and nudging into his nose once he’s close enough.
“Hi, little one. You can shift whenever you’re comfortable.” Chan strokes over the little kitten’s ear like he always does. “I’m not mad. I just need you to explain.”
The kitten hesitates for a minute, tail flicking rapidly, before he jumps onto Chan’s hip and then the bed.
By the time Chan gets up off of the floor, there’s a human shaped lump underneath the blanket. Chan stays sitting on the floor, giving the hybrid however much time he needs.
The lump shakes a bit before the blanket is tugged down, and Chan is met with the most gorgeous man he’s ever seen. His beautiful cream fur has transformed into soft white blonde waves that cascade all the way down to his shoulders. Fluffy white cat ears sit nestled in his hair. There’s freckles scattered across the middle of his face.
Fuck.
Chan is so fucked.
He buries all that down immediately when he sees how terrified the hybrid is in front of him. He looks like he’s about to cry as he trembles in the blankets around him.
“No, no little one. It’s okay. Don't cry, you're fine.” Chan says. He wants nothing more than to reach out and smother the kitten in his arms. Instead, he grabs his softest sweatpants and sweater, the ones he’s worn and washed a thousand times, and hands them to the hybrid.
The kitten drowns in the outfit. Chan has to bite his lip to stop from cooing when he sees the kitten ball up his fists inside the sweater sleeves. However the hybrid still looks apprehensive, and he won't make eye contact with Chan.
Chan kneels back down by the bed. “I was serious, little one. I’m not going to throw you back out on the street because you were too scared to shift. I’m Chan, what’s your name?”
“Felix,” he says quietly. Then almost as an afterthought in barely a whisper he says, “but I like little one too.”
Felix looks surprised by his own words, like he wasn’t planning on saying it out loud. Felix’s face is flushed like he wants to explode with embarrassment, hugging himself in the huge sweater. But now that Chan knows Felix likes it too, he’s never going to stop.
“I’d like you to keep being my little one, even like this.” Chan says. “I just need you to tell me what happened.”
Felix fidgets, looking over at him quickly before promptly staring back at his sweater paws. He starts hesitantly. “My parents both died when I was little. Car accident, I think. Isn’t it sad that I don’t really remember? After that, I spent most of my childhood in the adoption center. Everything always fell through one way or another. Their paperwork would be wrong, or halfway through they would decide they didn’t want me.”
Chan has to ball his fists up against his knees to stop himself from reaching out to hold the hybrid.
“I was trafficked a few years ago straight from the adoption center. They put in all the right paper work, said all the right words, and then I was gone.” Felix pauses as he uses his hand to wipe tears off of his cheeks. The action really only serves to smear wetness all over his face. “I think it was four or five years ago. I don't know. I spent years be sent back and forth between underground clubs. I…”
He trails off as the tears start to fall in earnest. Chan feels murderous. They fed this sweet little hybrid through a meat grinder, when all he wanted was to be loved.
“I think they were going to end up killing me with how little they fed me. They said I got more customers when I was skinny. So I just took the chance one day and ran anyway. At least if they killed me for escaping, it was on my own terms. And I was so excited at first, isn’t that the crazy thing? I just thought, for the first time in my life, someone wanted me. I was so naive.”
He looks up at Chan through teary lashes and wet cheeks, tail curling around his waist in attempted comfort. “Please don't send me back. Please, I'll do anything. I can be whatever you want. I can service you. Please, just please don't send me back.”
Chan thinks he’s already crying. He’s been holding it in since Felix started talking. “Can I hold you, Felix?”
Felix doesn't respond, merely crawls into Chan’s lap. The weight against his chest is so different from the tiny kitten, but feels equally right as Chan wraps his arms around the hybrid’s waist.
“You’re my little one now.” Chan whispers wetly into Felix’s fluffy ear. “No one’s going to hurt you here, and you're certainly not going back there. You're safe here. No obligations.”
Chan feels Felix’s tail wind around his wrist. He hears a barely there, “promise?”
“With my life, sweetheart.” Chan starts gently rubbing Felix’s back. “They’d have to kill me first.”

Learning to live with Felix is as easy as breathing.
They fall asleep wrapped up in each other that night, in the same way they did when Felix was a kitten: with Felix curled up on his chest, purring softly. Chan loves the new weight of the hybrid against his chest. It grounds him. Chan has to awkwardly shift to grab the comforter because Felix refuses to let him go. So Chan blindly flails around until his hand touches the blanket because his vision is half obscured with fluffy kitten ears and blonde hair. When he gets the heavy comforter on top of both of them, Felix starts purring louder as they fall asleep.
After that Felix never really stops touching him. Chan loves it. So selfishly, he loves it. Despite it all, the kitten has so much love to give, and Chan drinks it all up like water. He never realized how desperately he wanted someone's touch until he was given all of it so willingly.
When he stands at the stove, stirring a clump of noodles for dinner, Felix presses up against his back, deep purrs emanating from his chest. His little fingers are a menace, teasing the thin layer of fat covering Chan’s stomach like a cat kneading a blanket. Occasionally he flexes his abs just to hear the kitten giggle into his shoulder blades.
When they’re watching tv at night, Felix lays with his head in Chan’s lap, and Chan is more than willing to stroke through Felix’s soft ears, as the kitten nuzzles his thigh. His cream colored tail has gotten so full and healthy now that he’s gained a good amount of weight under Chan’s roof. Right now, it’s twitching back and forth gently between Felix’s thigh and the back of the couch. Chan watches it fondly - he’s long stopped watching whatever drama is playing on the tv in favor of watching Felix. The hybrid is wholly unshy in his happiness and affection. Even without the animal features, Chan thinks he would be able to tell when Felix is happy.
And of course at night, Felix drags him back to bed. Having the hybrid around has done wonders for his sleep schedule. Even the nights he doesn't fall asleep immediately, he feels so much more rested just closing his eyes and listening to Felix’s steady purrs in the dark of their bedroom.
So needless to say, even with Felix now human, they live well together.
Unfortunately, Chan cannot dodge Minho’s dinner requests forever. The panther is stubborn as a mule, despite the lack of species correlation.
”Felix?” Chan calls, still drying his hair with a towel after getting out of the shower. He turns the corner into the living room and lets out a grunt as he’s practically clobbered by another body.
He giggles, dropping the towel to the wooden floor and wrapping his arms around the kitten. “Hi, little one. You didn’t have to tackle me in the hallway. You could have just called to get my attention.”
”Missed you.” Felix says simply, rubbing his face into Chan’s neck.
“I was just in the shower.” Chan says.
Felix whines, “yeah, but you were gone all day. I missed you.”
Chan can’t even find it in himself to care that Felix likely should not be this clingy. He loves it too much. What can he say? He’s selfishly in love with all of Felix’s attention and would attach them at the hip if Felix asked for it.
“I have to work if my spoiled little kitten wants his prime cuts of fish.” Chan teases, leaving out the part that he’s basically loaded because of producing and Felix is the first person he’s ever spent money on. Because of Felix, it finally feels like it matters that he makes money. He gets the opportunity to make the hybrid’s life better, and that makes it all worth it.
Felix pulls out of Chan’s neck, sporting a lethal pout and wide round boba eyes, “you wouldn’t take that from me.”
Chan cups his face and presses a quick kiss to his forehead. He probably should have stopped doing that now that Felix is a human, but every time he does, Felix gives him the prettiest little smile, so he figures the hybrid doesn’t mind. “No, I wouldn’t. You’re far too cute when you’re happy.”
The skin under Felix’s freckles flushes pink. Despite Chan’s claims of him being a spoiled kitten, he really isn’t, and that’s why Chan keeps doing it. The teasing is just play between them. Everytime Chan comes home with more fish, or some flowers, or a new sweater, Felix is always thankful - probably to an excessive degree. The clean kitchen and folded laundry Chan comes home to now has not escaped his notice either.
So yeah, Chan spoils Felix like he deserves after everything he’s been through. “Why don’t you go set up whatever movie you want to watch and I’ll get us some water.”
Felix brightens before bolting over to the couch to dig for the remote.
With two glasses of water, Chan returns to the living room to break the news to Felix now that he’s hopefully softened the blow. “By the way, Minho is coming over for dinner again tomorrow.” He says it casually, but it doesn’t matter because he watches Felix go rigid.
Chan gives him the chance to speak, and eventually he says, “Your friend doesn't like me.” Felix looks so upset at the prospect. His tail is corkscrewed around his thigh and his ears are completely fanned out as he hugs himself.
Chan immediately gathers the kitten into a hug again. “He didn't know you. I haven't had the best relationships in the past, and he’s gotten very protective of me over the years.”
“He won’t be mad at me?” Felix asks into Chan’s neck.
Chan walks them over to the couch, drowning them in a mess of blankets. “I won’t let him be. You’re my hybrid now, remember. He has to like you.”

When Minho walks in the following night, Chan can feel Felix press against his back, little hands gripping his shirt.
Chan angles his head and sees Felix peeking over his shoulder with a wet, terrified expression - like he thinks Minho has come to personally dispatch him, to drag him away from Chan. “Hi Minho, this is Felix.”
It takes all of five minutes for Minho to have the kitten gathered in his arms. Some hybrids have stronger animal instincts than others, but Chan has never met someone more in tune with their animal half than Minho.
However, looking at Felix curled inside Minho’s arms on his couch, he’s starting to suspect his little kitten might be a close second. Felix didn’t even get through half of the story about his past before Minho had whisked them off to the couch and started grooming Felix’s ears. Chan stopped being weirded out by Minho using his tongue to groom like a real cat a long time ago, and seemingly, Felix isn't phased at all.
He’s just glad this second meeting has gone better.
Minho's possible disapproval must have weighed on Felix more than Chan knew. Because now that Felix knows Minho doesn't hate him, he seems to blossom even more. He glows with happiness.
When Chan hands him a phone, preloaded with Minho’s number obviously, he tackles Chan into the couch cushions and doesn’t let him go for the rest of the night.

It’s not all perfect, of course. Chan walks into the apartment late one Friday night. Well, it’s really more like Saturday morning at this point. He squints at his watch and the digits fuzz around the edges as it reads 3:57, eyes burning even in the barely there light of the watch. It’s been quite a while since he’s stayed up this late working, but the client keeps pushing the deadline forward despite the fact that he keeps telling them the album needs more time. But this client is high profile, and if they decide he was difficult to work with, contracts will slow down. He's too popular for contracts to dry up entirely, but his finances would take a serious hit.
He half heartedly kicks his shoes off and nearly trips over the ledge, When he looks down, Felix is curled up on the floor just beyond the shoe rack, consumed in restless sleep. There's a blanket half shoved under his head. Shit. He didn’t tell Felix he was going to be late.
“Hey little one,” Chan whispers softly, stroking Felix's shoulder. “What are you doing here, hmmm?”
Felix opens his eyes blearily. “You didn't come back.” He says, voice deep and scratchy due to his exhaustion. “You're never this late. I thought maybe you just decided not to come back.”
Oh, all the clinginess and affection makes sense now. His little one is terrified of being abandoned after years of being passed over and forgotten. “Come here,” Chan opens his arms and the sleepy kitten practically falls into them. He kisses Felix’s temple. “I’m sorry, I should've texted you when I was going to be late. Come on, lets go to bed.”
When Felix clings to him, Chan is forced to carry him down the hall.
“I will always come back, Felix. I’m never going to abandon you.” Chan says quietly into the darkness.

As the weather starts to turn cold again, Chan can hardly believe the turn his life has taken in just eight months. He hasn’t stayed egregiously late in the studio since that day in June when he found Felix curled on the tile floor near the door. He sleeps well, eats well, and as soon as he can move past the tiny insignificant problem of being hopelessly, completely in love with the hybrid who changed his life, then everything will be perfect.
He’s never been fond of celebrating his birthday, so he didn’t even tell Felix it was today. Especially when all he wants is to go home to the sweetest kitten hybrid and cuddle on the couch as they watch the latest episode of their drama. There's no need for celebration when he already has everything he needs.
So when opens the door to Felix holding a single rose and wearing one of those cheap paper party cone hats, yelling surprise, Chan nearly falls back outside into the hallway.
Felix helps him up. “Happy birthday?” The hybrid offers quietly, looking worried.
“And who told you it was my birthday?” Chan asks, hanging his coat in the closet.
Felix is giving him that wet, pathetic boba eye look again. “You wouldn’t tell me. So I had to ask Minho.”
Chan feigns annoyance, sighing and rolling his eyes, even as he pulls Felix close and kisses his temple. “Suppose we better celebrate then. If my little one put in all this sneaky work to find out.”
Felix hides his nerves much better than in the beginning, but Chan can still tell something is bothering him. He doesn’t find out what it is until after they’ve eaten dinner and Felix pulls a wrapped box out of the silverware drawer of all places.
Chan takes the box when Felix offers it to him, “Felix you didn’t have to get me anything.”
Felix shakes his head, “open it, please.”
Chan carefully tears the tape and opens the box to find paperwork. He’s confused until he reads the top of the page. In simple black text it reads: Certificate of Adoption. Adoption. So Felix wants him to —-. Chan immediately looks over at the hybrid.
Felix fiddles with his napkin, talking a mile a minute. “Minho helped me get it. We talked to a lawyer and everything. Since my old owners technically haven’t provided for me in more than six months, I’m considered an abandoned hybrid and that’s cause for the adoption certificate to be null and void. So all you’d have to do is sign that paperwork and legally I’m your hybrid. If you want to that is. You don’t have to. This arrangement is fine. I don’t legally need to be tied to you. No one really needs to know.”
Chan scoots his chair over and stops him with a hand tilting his chin upwards. “But you would know.”
Felix nods. Chan almost can’t believe that Felix wants to be his - officially. “And I would know too.”
The hybrid looks at him with so much hope it almost stops his heart in the middle of his dining room.
“It’s weird though,” Chan says, and Felix's expression starts to drop. “You didn’t include a pen with the gift. How am I supposed to sign it when I want you to be mine right now?”
Felix launches himself at Chan so hard they both end up on the floor. Felix is crying, and Chan is letting out a kind of laugh-cry. “You’re so mean,” Felix whines, weakly punching his shoulder.
“Never letting you go again,” Chan says, kissing Felix’s temple. “You’re mine now.”
That ‘right now’ on the signature ends up being almost twenty minutes later because every time Chan tries to pull them up off the floor, Felix smothers him even more. Eventually he has to give up and just stand up with the kitten’s legs wrapped around his waist.
He carries Felix and the paperwork to his small office and signs it with Felix still in his arms. It feels right - inking his name onto the paper while Felix is plastered to him, purring happily.
“There,” Chan says, putting the pen down after the last signature, and looking at Felix. “Officially mine, now.”
Felix pulls back to look at him, hands fisted in the sweater at his chest. “Thank you. I… I” He looks like he’s about to start crying again. “There was a time where I thought I would never be happy again. But you make me so happy, I love you.”
Chan looks up at Felix in awe, rubs a thumb over the stray tears the hybrid is trying to hold back. “My Felix, I love you so much.”
At the same time a soft tail wraps around his thigh, Felix presses their lips together. Oh, Felix loves him. Well, Chan is more than happy to work with that. His hands find Felix’s now healthy waist, as Felix threads hands into Chan’s hair. He’s so used to playing with Felix’s hair and ears that it’s almost weird to have it be reversed. But he absolutely gets why Felix loves it now. If he could purr, he thinks he might be right now as Felix’s little hands tug the strands of his hair and gently scratch his scalp.
Chan is surprised his little one is so bold, because it’s Felix who licks at the seam of their lips first. When Felix finally licks into his mouth, he has to stop himself from rocking his already half hard cock up into Felix. Apparently, being a hybrid has given him more than just the ears and tail, because Felix’s tongue is rough just like a cat’s would be.
While Chan is able to stop himself from grinding up into Felix, he isn’t able to contain the wanton moan that bubbles up from his throat.
“I want you.” Felix says breathlessly, pulling away when Chan moans. His eyes have always been enormous, especially when he’s given Chan that sad, pathetic look that has Chan wrapped around his fingers. But right now his eyes are black holes that Chan is caught in - he can’t look away as Felix begs for him, want pooling in his eyes.
“Are you sure?” Chan asks, rubbing circles into the skin on his waist.
Felix nods, “I know you’ll make me feel good, you're safe.”
When Chan immediately stands up, still holding him, Felix yelps, and throws his arms around Chan’s neck.
Once Felix is on the bed, Chan strips down to his boxers. His triangular ears are twitching slightly and his face has a pretty blush, when Chan turns back.
Chan fights back a blush of his own and crawls over to the hybrid. “Can I see you too?”
Felix twists his hands into the bottom of his shirt for a minute before nodding. Reaching down, Chan intertwines their hands to pull the shirt up Felix’s body.
His blush spreads slightly into his chest as Chan looks down at him. “My pretty kitten,” Chan kisses along his collarbone and down his torso. If he had his way, he’d spend all night kissing every centimeter of Felix’s skin, but he can feel Felix trying to squirm his own pants off even as he presses kisses into the heated skin of the hybrid's chest. Chan reaches down and helps Felix tug them off. And then he's left staring at the almost naked hybrid, save for a pair of red lace panties.
Fuck.
Chan feels like he’s going to double over in arousal.
Felix is going to kill him.
He skirts his hands along the hybrid's torso as he attempts to regain his composure. “Oh, did you plan this little one?” Chan smirks, tracing the edge of his skin just above the pretty lace panties.
Felix’s breathing stutters as goosebumps appear in the wake of Chan’s thumb. “I had hoped.”
“Introducing you to Minho was a mistake.” Chan shakes his head, as Felix gives him a diabolical little smile.
“You're so pretty. Gonna make you feel so good.” Chan says, leaning down to press their lips together. He’s tugs the lace down as he tangles his tongue with Felix’s. Distantly, he wonders what the rough surface would feel like against his cock. Maybe one day, Felix might be willing to try. But for now, Chan is going to ravish him.
When Chan finally gets the lace panties off of Felix, he gapes like a fish out of water. Underneath Felix’s cute little cock, he has a pussy that’s already glistening. Chan’s not sure he could form a thought if he tried, because all of the blood that was in his brain rushed to his cock so fast that he feels lightheaded.
Felix, however, takes his his expression as disapproval, because he squirms and shuts his legs, “I’m sorry, I should've told you. I know it’s weird. We don't have to –.”
Chan covers his mouth with a finger. “Felix, I’m having to think about sorting trash right now to not come untouched. Please stop talking."
“Oh,” Felix says, dumbfounded, but then he gets this devious little smirk on his face. Before Chan can react, Felix takes the finger still on his lips into his mouth. Chan chokes on nothing as he watches Felix suckle on his finger, and flutter his lashes prettily.
“Fuck, you're going to kill me, little one.” Chan says it even as he nudges a second finger at the hybrid’s lips. Felix accepts easily, running his rough tongue along the pads of Chan’s fingers.
Before Felix can suck his fingers down his throat, Chan tugs them out, teasing the little fangs on his way. Chan wraps his spit smeared hand around Felix’s cock. Felix whines, shoving his hands into the pillows by his head. His cock is smaller, probably half the size of Chan’s, but he's so sensitive. The kitten writhes on the bed below him. Chan thinks he might be able to get off in future just from Felix’s pretty sounds.
“Chan, please, ah,” Felix's normal deep tone has gone high pitched and reedy. Chan kisses him again, licking the desperate sounds out of his mouth. Felix breaks the kiss begging. “Chan, stop, I’m going to cum if you don't stop.”
Chan almost yanks his hand away, like he touched a hot stove. Felix groans, “fuck, I was so close, why did you stop?”
Chan frowns, “little one, you told me to stop. Of course I wasn't going to keep going.”
“Oh,” Felix says. It's almost whiplash, how quickly Felix’s gaze goes from fiercely sensual to doe eyed loving. “Um, I can cum more than once. You can keep going if you want. I’ll say red if I really feel uncomfortable.”
Chan groans and drops his head lightly into Felix’s shoulder, “you're doing it again.”
Felix has the audacity to giggle. “What?” He says with faux sweetness. “Making you cum?”
Chan nips at his neck. “Some of us can only cum once, naughty kitten.” He feels Felix’s tail curl around his back.
When he finally feels like he’s not going to cum just from looking at Felix, he pulls out of the hybrids neck, and trails his fingers downward again. Felix is wet, like, dripping wet. His fingers slip through the hybrid's pussy. Chan freezes, caught between wanting to finger him, eat him out, or suck him off until he comes.
“Please,” Felix whines, biting his lip with little fangs. Chan concedes - he’ll do everything else later. They have later. They have the rest of their lives.
One finger becomes two and before long he has four fingers inside Felix. The kitten is so reactive, and Chan thinks it is a distinct possibility he could come untouched watching Felix writhe in pleasure one day. But he holds himself back, because he needs to be inside Felix, needs to make him feel even better.
As Chan lines himself up, he feels a soft tail curl around one of his thighs. He smiles down at the hybrid. Chan’s always been disgustingly sentimental, as some hybrids (Minho) would say, but as Felix laces their hands together, he finds he simply couldn't care less. He pushes in and reaches down to kiss Felix at the same time, swallowing both of their moans.
The sound Felix makes as he fully seats himself inside is somewhere between a moan, a whine, and a purr. Chan wants to devour him whole, but he waits patiently for Felix to adjust.
Felix eventually wraps his arms and legs around Chan’s body. “Want you close, please,” he whispers into Chan’s neck.
While he’s certainly not making it easy, Chan can't imagine wanting to be any further away. He grinds his hips forward, because he can't really do anything more than shallowly thrust, and Felix moans deliciously in his ear. The hybrid is a vice around him, and even if he can't fully thrust forward, the pleasure is blinding. Felix has him so keyed up that he’s not going to last that long anyway. Good thing the kitten is so hypersensitive from being brought to the edge so many times.
Felix throws his head back as Chan cums inside him. Chan drops his head onto the pillow next to the hybrid's head, bumping his nose into Felix’s cheek. Eventually, he flips them over so Felix is laying on his chest. Felix curls into him. The space between them is wet and sticky, and Chan really wants to go shower, but the kitten is purring and nuzzling into his collarbone. In this moment, where Chan can feel the fur of Felix’s ears brushing into his chin and the hybrid is warm against him, Chan realizes that he wants this exactly for the rest of his life: a happy, purry Felix in his arms.
“I love you.” Chan says. “You're the best thing that's ever happened to me.”
Chan can feel the smile against the skin of his collarbone and the tail curl around his wrist.
