It had started as a slight pressure in his abdomen that he was able to brush off and make his way further in the dungeon. If it had remained as such, he wouldn't have been having as hard for him to do anything. He knew that it was partially his fault since he could have taken a break at any point to take care of it before it gotten so severe. That would have been the correct way to go about things instead of pushing it aside in favor of trying to get deeper. Laios was well aware of the sorts of things that could happen if he ended up being too distracted by his own body.
As they made their way around, it was clear to him that the issue wasn't going to get any better by being ignored nor was he going to be having a proper place to deal with it. The part of the floor they were on didn’t have any sign of having things for people to exist in. While they were more than able to take care of themselves without shelter, it was a bit awkward to have to make due with just a small hole in the ground. It was even worse for him. The blond man wasn’t quite sure how he was supposed to be able to get away with it without everyone else knowing. A shudder ran through him at the possibility of his friends stumbling upon him while he was in the middle of emptying his guts. That was something he definitely wanted to avoid if he was able.
“I think here would be a good place to take a break,” Senshi suggested as he looked around the area they managed to find. It was a good enough spot to make a small meal without having to worry about monsters getting to them and gave them access to more than enough water.
Laios didn't feel very comfortable with stopping at that point, but it wouldn't hurt for them to have something to eat. Having a break was probably more than enough for him to get the painful weight building in his abdomen. It was far from being comfortable under his armor nor something that he wanted to keep having hanging over his head. The sooner that he was able to get rid of it, the better that it was going to be for if a different issue ended up happening. His current problem with taking care of his guts was the fact that there wasn't a bathroom near the area they were taking a break in. A rather unfortunate event that wasn't making him feel any better about things. He was going to have to think a bit more about how he could make due without one that wouldn't make things worse on them.
Looking around their rest area a bit more, he managed to find a spot that was partially hidden away. The only two that would have been able to hear what was going on in it were Marcille and Chilchuck which wasn’t the biggest issue. Though, there were only large pots that one would see used for cooking in the room. He was unsure of what their delegated cook would be making so that made it a bit difficult to figure out if it would matter what he did to them. They were the better option than to leave waste on the floor and wind up with monsters tracking them. Laios didn’t want to be the one that ended up getting them into more trouble than what it was worth especially with all the good they’d managed to get done. Maybe it would be better for him to ask the dwarf what was up his sleeve?
Seeing as he wasn’t getting anywhere on his own, he returned to the rest of the group to see what they’d managed to do. “What’s on the menu this time? There’s not much around here as far as I’ve been able to see.”
Their cook hummed as he rummaged through his bag. “We still have a bit of meat from a previous floor and a bit of rice from Shuro. It should be easy enough to make a basic rice soup with it.”
The blond man easily got into the rhythm of helping cut up the meat and vegetables for the dish. It allowed him the chance to zone out and not have to worry about anything else that was happening to him. Being able to take his mind off of what was happening in his guts was as much of a blessing as it was a curse. He'd known the risks of not keeping a close eye on it, but he'd been hoping that a break would have been welcome enough for him to think of some kind of a solution. As far as him figuring out what had caused it, he could only assume that it had been something from the meal he'd shared with everyone else that had set off his stomach. Not the most unlikely thing since his diet had been far from normal since he stepped foot in the dungeon lately.
As much as he wanted to be upset over being stuck feeling horrible, it wasn't going to do him any good for the future. Setting the meat and knife aside, there was no reason for him to be dawdling around any longer. Laios ignored the look that he ended up getting from Marcille, she rarely trusted anything that he did even if it was meant to help them. He couldn't blame her for being so on edge though he wasn't going to be doing anything of note that time. All he had to do was find some place that was slightly hidden away so he wouldn't end up disturbing anyone else. That was one of the last things he needed right then. If he could keep himself tucked away for a bit, the easier it was going to for him to avoid making himself feel even worse.
The first location that came to mind was the small room that had the pots, so that's where he headed. It was far enough away that he wasn't going to be disturbed nor would he disturbing anyone else. Part of him feel horrible about what he was going to be doing, but it was better than some of the other options available to him. Laios was slightly shocked that with himself that he was going to be going through with such a thing. Normally, he might have been more inclined to find something else that would have been helpful. This was certainly going to be something that he was going to have to think about at a later time. For now, it was better for him to get a move on with things before anything else ended up happening and making it damn near impossible to do anything.
Getting out of his armor was an easy enough of a task and he easily set it aside. That was one less thing that he had to be worried about as his stomach threw a fit. Without the armor on, he could say that it was easier to tell what his gut was doing. Along with the sharp pain, there was a more annoying feeling of something slowly dropping. Even though he wasn’t feeling well, he had a bit more luck with his body than what he’d originally thought. Perhaps that was giving himself a bit too much praise for something that shouldn't have been that much of a surprise?
Getting his pants out of the way as well, he was glad to be able to settled on the cooled ceramic of the pot. He still felt slightly bad for what he was doing, but that would probably pass in time. It was better for him to focus on the whole reason he was even doing such a thing in the first place. His gut even let out an ominous gurgle to let him know that he should get back to it. Laios sighed as he did his best to relax as much as possible. there was no way that he wasn't going to be in pain through most of whatever his body was going to do. Some part of him hoped that he wasn't going to be suffering enough that he needed someone's help. That would have been a bit too much for him to handle plus it was unlikely to be dropped.
The first bit of waste that made its way out of him was a bit drier than what he'd been expecting thus far harder for him to push out. His muscles did all they could in order to help it move along even if it wasn't doing much in the long run. It might have been better for him to let it move at its own pace instead of causing himself any sort of harm. That was going to take a bit longer than what he'd like, but it would be the better alternative. All he had to do was hope that no one decided to come looking for him because he'd been gone so long.
Perhaps it was some deity looking down on him or it was another sign of how far he'd managed to push his luck? The log of waste seemed to stuck just as it was exiting his body. No amount of him trying to push it out was going to make it move even as he shifted his legs a bit to get more comfortable. If he'd been able to use a proper bathroom, it wouldn't have been such a big deal. This was certainly not turning out as well as he would have liked and he'd barely done anything. Hopefully, he could manage to persevere through the rest of it.
A somewhat loud groan left him as a cramp rocked his midsection. The stuck bit of waste shifted a bit more to be partially hanging out of him which was far more progress than what he'd expected. Anything was better than it sitting and making his life far more difficult than it needed to be. Seeing as it had made such a massive bit of progress, he tested things by clenching down around it which happened to work out in his favor. It slipped further out of him until it thunked against the bottom of the pot. Laios couldn't help letting out a sigh as the first hurdle was through with tormenting him. That was one less thing for him to be worried about. Unfortunately, that was the kindest bit that he was going to be dealing with.
Before he was able to think too much on what might have been in store for him, there was another gurgle and a burning squirt of waste left him along with a loud burst of gas. He couldn't help whimpering as more of it poured out of him and splattered the inside of the pot. If anyone had been near the room, he was sure that they would have been able to hear what was happening to him. Things didn't get any better whenever there was a slight break in things. As he thought that he might have been able to prepare himself for whatever was coming his way, his body decided to prove him wrong even more.
The burning feeling of his lower half seemed to get worse with each bit of liquid waste that left him. On the one hand, it was good that he was getting it out of his body. On the other hand, it would have been easier to handle if it wasn’t causing him so much pain. He could only hope that it wasn’t going to be the only thing that was leaving his body for the next however long he was stuck there. Being able to walk was his one wish out of everything that he was going through. Laios was also going to need to figure out what had caused his stomach to be so upset. There was nothing off the top of his head that would have been able to do it and it seemed like it was just him. Maybe he’d managed to find something that he couldn’t have in the future?
Seemed like the mostly logical answer for what was happening to him though he’d have to try multiple things to see what was causing him so many problems. That was something for him to keep in mind as they kept travelling through the dungeon. The more he knew about what his body was capable of handling, the better it was going to be for each meal afterwards. Seeing how things currently were, he wasn’t going to be figuring any of that out for quite a while.
‘How long am I going to be stuck here? There’s a good chance someone is going to stumble upon this little room,’ he mused to himself. Being tucked away was good, but there was only so long it would work in his favor. All he could really do was hope that his body didn't keep him there for the rest of the rest period they setup. Somehow, he knew that he was going to be there for longer than what he was thinking. Maybe it was going to be a good thing that someone would come to his aid even if it wasn't the most welcome thing in the moment? They were probably going to have quite a few questions about how he'd managed to get into such a situation and why he decided the route he went down. That was all something he was going to be thinking about for a while.
