PREFACE
Welcome to Oak Creek Haven!
This is a completed work written by both LostBrokenSoul and JustLetMeForget.
We both worked really hard to bring this rom/com fic together (who are we kidding; it’s straight up a lesbian Hallmark) and are excited to share it with you. After much discussion, we have decided that (due to the fact we both have full-time jobs, houses to maintain, and lives we very much enjoy) we wanted to go ahead and let you know some information up front:
1). We will be posting weekly on Saturday mornings between the hours of 8AM and 12PM (EST). There will be only one post per week so there’s always something to look forward to and it’s consistent, which everyone seems to appreciate. We wanted to be up front about this so everyone knows what is coming and when to look out for those things if you end up falling in love with it like we have.
2). Along the same vein, we are both going to be going through the comments. They do mean absolutely everything to us. If you ever wonder if authors love comments, we do. We eat that shit up, but be mindful that it does sometimes take time to get through them. Yes, they will be moderated because some people like to ruin it for the rest of the lovely readers. Basically, what we’re trying to say is, we definitely read them but we might not start looking through them for the first 24-48 hours.
3). IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY, DON’T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL. You aren’t obligated to read it or even like it but that’s no reason to be rude. The back button works wonders. All of this work is provided free to you because we just enjoy creating and sharing. Don’t ruin it for us. We wrote something we wanted to read and loved every single minute of it. With that in mind, we totally understand this might not be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s completely okay. We hope you find something you do enjoy because there are so many great fics out there that deserve the recognition, but don’t be rude. We’ve spent over a year working on this.
4). Up front, if you don’t like masculine Maya, this might not be your thing, but neither of us is obligated to feel bad about writing her as such. If that’s not your thing, totally understand. Maybe we’ll deliver something down the road that’s more your style.
5). There will be one-shots that will follow over time once the story has been completely posted. We adore the world we built and felt that there were so many stories left to be shared but they simply didn’t fit into the story as is. These one-shots won’t have a schedule and will pop up from time to time as a new idea hits us and we get the time to write it. With that being said, we might not use all of them BUT we are open to suggestions.
Lastly, grab some popcorn and enjoy. It’s a bit of a wild ride at times. Just mind your step; the animals aren’t necessarily house trained!
