Fate Through Time
Chapter 1
The Omega Obscurial
It happened on Harry’s fifteenth birthday. He woke up feeling heated, his body heavily flushed and sweaty. His legs and chest were both feeling extremely sticky; sweat white nectar dribbled from his hardening buds, further staining his sweat-stained shirt. Harry knew immediately what was happening. He was coming into his secondary gender, just as all people do on their fifteenth birthday. Something that can be both horrible and extremely pleasurable at the same time.
Alpha.
Beta.
Omega.
The whole of humanity fell into one of these three categories. Most of the world is Betas, or “normal”; they did not have to go through the ruts of Alphas and the heats of Omegas. They were just normal human beings, and for them, their fifteenth birthday was nothing particularly special, just as special as they made it to be.
Alphas ruled the world. Highly powerful, both muggles and wizards, Alphas always find their way into positions of authority, no matter how big or small. They all share several characteristics. They are territorial, stubborn, rare, and always seen as the pinnacle of strength, either physical, magical, or both. If a person is born as an Alpha, it is said that great things are expected of them, and greatness will always come to them. The Alphas go through Ruts, an unstoppable need to dominate and control, where there is only one thought in their heads: Knotting their Omega. For Alphas without Omegas, they have to find other ways to satisfy their needs; most tend to work out, others become extremely territorial of their friends, while all use toys to satisfy their needs. Picturing a perfect Omega bouncing on their lap, crying and begging for their cum and knot. Still, Rutting and having an Omega is a sense of pride to the Alpha. The Omega is a precious person to protect, to own, and to shower with love and affection.
Then, lastly, there were the Omegas. Just as rare as Alphas, just as precious to them as well, but society had a different idea. Omegas were seen both as people who are immensely precious to Alphas, a prize to be won and be loved, and someone to be beneath and subservient to the Alpha as well. There were a few Alphas who saw Omegas as precious jewels to be worshiped, but there were many Alphas who saw Omegas as theirs and existed only for their pleasure. No matter what their gender is, only Omegas could give birth to Alphas, and they were the only ones who could calm an Alpha, no matter what. But at the same time, Omegas feel biologically tied to an Alpha, especially during their Heats. Three days of constant need, three days of needing an Alpha to give them stability, care, and use them for any needs they wish. For unmated Omegas, they are forced to spend their Heats separated from the world, or else they risk mating with an Alpha without their will or consent. Toys are required, and specially made, but they are no match for the real thing.
For younger Omegas, during their first heat, there is no sexual need, just a strange sickness like an extended cold with an extremely high fever.
Alpha or Omega, you know what you are the moment you’re born, it only just comes out during puberty. Harry always knew that he was an Omega; he wasn’t ashamed of it, he just didn’t feel it would be a good idea to share. He didn’t know why; he wanted an Alpha, but after everything that happened to him from his first year at Hogwarts to now, he felt that it would be better for everyone, especially him, if he just hid it for now. But still, that didn’t mean he didn’t fantasize.
Harry remembered when he was in elementary school, there was an Omega teacher who loved to tell them a story about how for every Alpha in the world, there was an Omega made just for them, and they are always connected. Even if they were worlds away, their connection would find a way.
Harry always liked that story as a young kid; it gave him hope that one day, an Alpha would find him and take him away from his uncle. They would fly away together and would live happily ever after. A very nice dream that was slowly crushed year after year.
He continued to keep his Omega status a secret after his birthday. He didn’t feel ashamed; he never did, but again he felt like it was safer to keep it a secret, especially after hearing Ron’s private views on Omegas.
His best friend, somehow, thought that Harry was a fellow Alpha, and so he kept on telling Harry about private thoughts that would definitely get him in trouble with Hermione, a Beta. Comments on Omegas and their bodies, especially Draco Malfoy. “Man, look at him, Harry, he’s just begging for it,” Ron snickered one time as he pointed Malfoy out. “I mean, look at the way those pants hang on his ass! Don’t you agree? We should totally tag team him, that’ll teach him some manners!”
Harry felt disgusted. He wanted to warn Malfoy, but he didn’t think he would take Harry seriously. So in the end, he spent half an hour in the bathroom losing his breakfast and lunch. Then Umbridge happened… followed by the D.A…. Voldemort… and Sirius’s death. It was too much for anyone to handle, and yet Harry was expected to handle it all without a single tear shed. All because people assumed that he was an Alpha.
He felt broken. Alone. Ron and Hermione acted as if nothing was wrong. Ron kept on making more and more lewd comments about Omegas, mostly Malfoy, and the disgusting things he’ll do to him.
They were at the Burrow. It was Harry’s birthday, and Harry felt… empty. It wasn’t a heat. He kept taking pills to repress those and his pheromones, but he felt a strange, aching emptiness that left him feeling broken.
He lay in his bed, feeling heavy and lifeless before forcing himself to roll out of it to take his suppression. It was a pill that he had probably taken too many of, but he didn’t care. He didn’t feel safe enough to reveal himself. He pulled the bottle from its hiding place in his trunk and took a pill, placing the bottle on his nightstand before he washed it down with water.
He still felt tired, and technically, it was a little early to wake up. So he fell back to his bed and just stared. Today, he felt worse than normal. He didn’t know why. It was just a hard feeling for the poor Omega.
There was a bang on Harry’s door before Ron burst in, “Harry! Mum said to get up, breakfast is ready!” he called out.
Harry jumped and fell out of his bed. He groaned as Ron laughed, “Come on, mate! Don’t tell me you were still sleeping!”
“Give me a minute,” Harry muttered as he got up.
“Yeah, sure, you need some help, Harry?” Ron grinned as he stepped toward Harry. He stopped when he noticed something on the nightstand. “You’re taking medicine? You good?” he asked.
Harry’s breath hitched. “Ron, wait no—”
Ron snatched the pills curiously just as Harry got to his feet. Harry instinctively took a step back from his best friend. “ I can explain,” he said.
“Suppressants?” Ron questioned. “Why would you need Omega suppressants?”
“I—”
“Hold on… don’t tell me,” Ron said slowly. “Harry, are you an Omega?”
Harry took a shuddering breath. He nodded before he said verbally, “Yeah.”
“Harry! You’re an Omega, and you didn’t tell me?” Ron demanded, slamming the pills down on the nightstand. It tipped, and the pills all fell over the edge. “How long have you known!?”
“Forever… I started developing last year,” Harry admitted.
“Harry,” Ron said, looking at him differently. “All this time, and you didn’t tell me? Why?”
“I just… it didn’t seem important,” Harry shrugged.
“Didn’t seem important!? Omega!” Ron said, his voice deepening. “That’s very rude of you.” He took a step closer to Harry. Harry stared up at Ron, and that sinking feeling inside him grew.
“Ron?”
“All this time I was talking about Malfoy’s cunt… and all the things I wanted to do to it,” Ron said darkly as he continued to stalk toward Harry. “Did it make you jealous? Did it get you turned on? Is that why you joined in?”
Harry frowned as he stared at Ron. His eyes darted to his nightstand, where his wand was in the drawer. Ron was physically larger than Harry. But… he wouldn’t do anything, right? They were best friends. He wouldn’t do anything… right? Ron was so close. Harry lost his chance of escaping. “Omega,” Ron whispered, “all this time, and I could have been playing with your cunt instead.” His hand moved to Harry’s ass as he pressed against Harry.
“Ron!” Harry shouted.
“Yeah, you like this,” Ron smirked. “Who needs Malfoy, eh? His cunt’s probably all loose like the whore he is. But I know you, Harry. I know that no one has ever touched here…” his hand slipped inside Harry’s pants, his thick fingers forcing their way to touch Harry’s hole.
“NO!” Harry shouted. His hand curled into a fist, and he punched Ron squarely in the face before he even noticed he did it. Ron stumbled back, more shocked than hurt. His hand slipped away from Harry’s ass, and the Omega used that time to slip away. “Ron, what the fuck?” he yelled.
“Why’d you hit me!?” Ron demanded. “What’s wrong with you!?”
“Me!? What’s wrong with you?” Harry screamed. “The stuff you were saying and your hand on my ass?”
“You’re my best friend! Can’t I touch my Omega?” Ron snarled.
“I’m not your Omega, you just learned that I am one!”
“And that’s your fault. You’ve been holding out on me! I deserve something to make up for all that wasted time,” Ron said, pressing toward Harry again. Harry darted away to his nightstand and pulled his wand out, the drawer from the nightstand falling onto the floor. Ron stared at him, confused. “There’s no need for that, Harry. Come on, it’ll be fun! I’ll treat you well. Charlie taught me this trick that'll have you cumming in a minute.”
“NO! I don’t want you,” Harry said.
“BOYS!” Mrs. Weasley’s voice shouted out. “HARRY AND RON COME DOWN NOW! BREAKFAST IS GETTING COLD!”
“Coming, Mum!” Ron shouted back. He looked back at Harry and shook his hand. “Look, you’re just scared, that’s all,” he said, casually bringing his fingers that were by Harry’s hole and licking them. “You taste bloody brilliant, mate. Need a bit of taming, but I’ll make you a good boy, it’ll be fun!”
“You’re insane,” Harry huffed. “Look, Ron, you need to calm down, alright? We’ll talk about all this nonsense after breakfast, but don’t you dare tell anyone. Got it? It’s my decision to keep it a secret, and it’s my decision to tell people.”
“Whatever you say,” Ron said, sounding a little dismissive. “Just wear something cute, alright, babe?” He grinned widely and winked at Harry before leaving the room.
Harry felt disgusted, and any small ounce of hunger he felt was gone, replaced by nausea and a budding need to get as far away as possible from Ron.
Still, he had nowhere to go realistically. He was stuck in the Burrow, and so he dressed, wearing what he always wore, and froze before going to his drawer and pulling out Sirius’s knife, the last keepsake he had of the man. He pocketed it before continuing down to breakfast.
Ron looked a little disappointed at his appeal, but didn’t say anything about it. “Seat’s next to me,” he said, pointing at the empty seat next to him, putting Harry between Ron and Bill.
“I heard a bunch of ruckus from upstairs, Harry. Everything good?” Mrs. Weasley asked as she busied herself with filling a plate for him. “Happy birthday,” she smiled as she placed it in front of him.
“Thank you, Mrs. Weasley, and everything’s okay, Ron just scared me when he woke me up, is all,” Harry said politely. Next to him, Ron moved closer to him, and Harry felt a little bit scared. He glanced at Ron as Mrs. Weasley handed him his food and looked around the table. Hermione, Ginny, Bill, and Fleur, who Hermione and Ginny were giving stony looks, along with an exhausted-looking Tonks, filled the table.
“Harry’s an Omega,” Ron announced.
The world stopped. Harry felt his entire body go cold. Mrs. Weasley almost dropped her pan full of breakfast sausage. Both Hermione and Ginny gasped loudly and stared at Harry while Fleur placed a hand over her mouth. Bill and Tonks just looked at him.
“Congratulations,” Fleur said. “Did your puberty come later?”
“R-Ron,” Harry stuttered. He moved robotically to stare at Ron, who had a shit-eating grin on. The Alpha hooked an arm around Harry’s shoulder and forced him to be next to him, his chair scraping loudly as he did so.
“That’s what you heard, Mum, Harry was taking suppressants and told me everything,” Ron said.
“Why didn’t you tell u,s Harry?” Hermione frowned.
“Why’d you keep it a secret?” Ginny demanded.
“I—”
“We decided to give dating a try,” Ron continued, earning another gasp from the people in the room.
Mrs. Weasley smiled widely and clapped her hands together, “That’s good news!”
“What!? No, we didn’t!” Harry said, doing his best to scramble out of Ron’s arms, only to almost fall and be caught by Bill. “We didn’t talk about anything like that!” he shouted.
Ron frowned. “Yeah, we did,” he said. “Were you just too sleepy during it?”
“I still don’t understand why you took suppressants, Harry. That can be very dangerous,” Hermione frowned. “I mean, have you even had a heat yet?”
“No, I haven’t, but that’s not the point. Ron and I aren’t dating,” Harry insisted.
“Why not?” Bill asked, “You both seem like a good match in my opinion.”
“Bill’s right,” Mrs. Weasley nodded, “I mean, you’ve been friends forever; it only makes sense if you both develop into something more. Why, it's like Arthur and I! ”
“See, babe, I told you they’d be okay with it,” Ron grinned. “No need to hide it, eh?”
“I’m not your babe,” Harry insisted, causing most of them to frown.
“Harry,” Mrs. Weasley said a little awkwardly.
Harry stood fully, his chair pressed against the wall as he stared down at Ron. “We need to talk alone,” he insisted.
“Alright,” Ron said with a huge grin. Harry ignored his enflamed cheeks as both Bill and Fleur shared a knowing look. Harry went as far as the living room before he turned to Ron. “What the hell was that?” he demanded.
“What was what, mate?” Ron asked.
“That!” Harry shouted, throwing a hand toward the kitchen. “I had one request, Ron! Just one, and that was to tell no one! And you just went and said all that!?”
“I mean, we might as well, you are my Omega,” Ron shrugged, “even if you are being a bit of a brat right now.”
“A brat?” Harry laughed. “You think that was just me being a brat!? After you forced your fingers on my body!”
“Don’t yell at me like that, Omega!” Ron said roughly. “You stopped me before I could make you feel good! Don’t put this all on me just because I was fantasizing about Malfoy and his loose hole in front of you.”
“I am not! You are the one who’s doing all of this!” Harry shouted. “You’re not listening to me, and just think that just because we’re best friends, you can do anything—” Harry couldn’t finish as Ron rushed to close the distance, his lips puckered to take Harry’s first kiss. Harry slapped him, jumping back as he pulled his wand out. “What is wrong with you?” he shouted.
“ME!? What is wrong with you, Omega!?” Ron shouted. “DON’T YOU WANT TO BE SAVED!?”
“What!?”
“Yeah! Saved, you idiot!” Ron shouted. “I’m trying to save you!”
“How is groping me and kissing me saving me, Ron?” Harry demanded, “Because I really want to know!”
“I’m trying to save your life!” Ron shouted.
“My life!? I don’t need your Alpha Cock to continue living,” Harry shouted, looking disgusted that Ron would even suggest such a thing.
“That’s not it, you idiot, I’m trying to make it so that you don’t have to die! You being an Omega is the best thing ever!” Ron shouted. They heard chairs scraping and Tonks shouting, “Ron! Don’t!”
A few seconds later, Tonks, Mrs. Weasley, and the others were all in the doorway, watching the two best friends. Harry’s eyes shifted to them before glaring back at Ron. “Don’t what?” he demanded. “What are you talking about, Ron?”
“It’s Dumbledore,” Ron said. “I overheard him and the others talking about you! Dumbledore thinks that—”
“Ron,” Tonks warned, “You weren’t even supposed to hear that. Harry doesn’t have to know now.”
“Why not!?” Ron demanded. “It won’t happen now anyway, he’s my Omega now! He’s going to be my wife!”
“I know, but still,” Tonks frowned.
“Tell me!” Harry demanded, ignoring the Omega and wife comment for now. “What did Dumbledore think?”
The others all looked sad while Ron smirked victoriously. “My Omega trusts me so much,” he said. Harry shivered with disgust, but kept his wand trained on Ron. “Dumbledore has this theory, yeah? He says there’s a connection between you and You-Know-Who, and last year just proves that that’s true. He doesn’t know how deep that connection goes, but he thought… or was planning that in order to win the war, you would have to die.”
The Burrow felt twenty degrees colder. Harry’s arm went limp, and his wand slipped from his fingers. The only sound in that room was the soft clatter of Harry’s wand on the wooden floor. Harry just stared. Dumbledore wanted to kill him. Dumbledore… the man Harry saw and trusted as a grandfather… he was planning on having Harry die. Just like that. The emptiness inside him swirled. Anger bloomed but was swallowed. Rage, too, exploded only to be swallowed by the everlasting emptiness that just continued to expand inside him. It hurt to move his body, but he had to look. He turned his head, just his head, ever so slightly to see the others, and his heart broke when he saw shame on all of their faces. Shame and regret… but not shock. The only person who was shocked was Fleur, but everyone else?
Hermione? Ginny? Mrs. Weasley, Tonks, and even Bill… They knew.
They knew… and no one told him.
Sadness was the only emotion to beat his emptiness. His knees and legs failed him, and he fell. Only to be caught by Ron.
“It’s okay,” Ron whispered, smiling into his ear. “That’s not going to happen now! You can become my wife—I mean, it’s inevitable that you’re going to be my wife, Harry. My Omega, who else can tame you? You become mine, and no one will ever think about having you die, even Dumbledore! I mean, who would even think of throwing away a fertile Omega, Harry?”
The emptiness exploded. Harry used all of his strength to push himself away from Ron. He screamed and glared at all of them angrily. He never felt so angry before, so betrayed by all of them. He backstepped, needing to get away, far away, from all of them. The anger inside him, this emptiness that constantly fueled it. He felt like he was going to explode. He was constrained; he felt like he was suffocating in here, near their presence. Near Ron.
He needed air. He needed to think. He needed to get out of there.
“I need air,” Harry was able to choke out.
“Yeah, good idea,” Ron said. “We can take a walk—”
“ALONE!” Harry shouted before flinching at his voice. “Alone,” he repeated quietly. “I need to be alone…”
Ron and the others just nodded. Harry bent to pick up his wand, and the others all moved away as he pushed through to the door.
It was a clear summer day. The sun was shining with a light win. In any other conditions, Harry would have thought that it was a perfect day. But right now, as he stumbled away from the Burrow, it all felt suffocating. He gasped but couldn’t find breath. The sun was too harsh, burning down on Harry as he stumbled out. His mind felt like an explosive with a lit fuse. Ron outed him as an Omega. Ron, who talked about raping Malfoy constantly. Ron, who was his best friend. Ron who Harry thought he could always trust. Ron, who almost casually assaulted him… then acted like he was doing a favor. The others all agreed with him. The others all knew; they were happy, they didn’t care. Did they? They knew that Harry was going to die, they knew that Dumbledore was offering him up like a prized pig, they knew—they knew—they knew—
Harry was running now. He needed to get away. From everything. It was all too much. Being the Chosen One, being an Omega, being an unknowing pawn for the one man he thought he could trust. EVERYTHING! It was all too much! Harry ran and ran, not noticing the dark tendrils that started to lash out of his body or the way his shadow started to elongate.
He continued running until he fell, as if the earth itself opened up to swallow him. He fell, and yet it felt like he was flying. Darkness surrounded him. He felt the cold embrace of thick tendrils that came out of some unknown source. Was this it? Was he going to die anyway? Harry couldn’t bring himself to care. If the choices were to die here, die under Dumbledore’s plan, or be with a crazed Alpha who betrayed his trust, he would choose here and now to die.
He felt a wetness on his cheeks and was surprised to feel himself crying. The emptiness inside him continued to roar, and the sadness, the rage inside him all spilled out as he cried and started to scream himself hoarse. He continued to fall. He continued to rise. He didn’t know what was happening anymore. There was just the darkness and endless tendrils that wrapped around him in a cold hug. He found irony in that. Even after everything, the only thing that was giving him comfort was the unknown magic that was going to kill him.
He continued to cry and scream. Not out of fear of dying or anything, but just to release this anger, release this emptiness that he has been feeling forever.
Then he fell.
It was a quick fall, not as painful as Harry expected. He didn’t expect the darkness to disappear suddenly to be replaced by a very old-fashioned looking sitting room, complete with two elderly looking people. Nor did he expect the sudden pain he felt when his back crashed against a wooden coffee table, smashing it to pieces.
“Good Lord!” The man said as he jumped up, along with his wife. The man looked to be in his fifties. An alpha with a slim, but powerful build, with sleek black hair that had a single strand of white, and a thin black mustache. The woman, an Omega by her smell, had long black hair put up in a tight bun and was wearing old-fashioned jewelry along with a comfortable dress. “It’s a boy!” the man continued. “Martha, a boy fell through our ceiling!”
“An Omega at that, Reginald!” the woman called Martha gasped. “Oh dear, is he alright?”
Harry groaned and stared up at them. “Am I dead?” He asked in a hoarse voice. He tried to get up by himself, only for the couple to stop him, taking him by both arms and moving him to the nearby sofa.
“You’re still with us in the living, young chap,” Reginald said. “Who are you? And how in blazes did you fall through our ceiling?”
“I don’t know,” Harry slurred. His body, which once felt extremely cold, was now starting to feel feverishly hot once more. “There was darkness… a lot of tendrils… I was falling and flying?”
“The poor dear! Look at him, he’s so young,” Martha said. “What’s your name?”
“Harry,” Harry slurred. “I feel hot…”
Martha frowned and pressed a hand to his forehead. “Sweet Magic! He’s burning up, Reginald! Harry, dear, how old are you?”
“Sixteen… where am I?” Harry asked.
“You’re in our living room,” Reginald said. “But uh—Warrington Manor, specifically. Do you remember where you’re from? Your last name?”
In his feverish daze, Harry shook his head. He didn’t want to be known as the Chosen One. He didn’t want to be known as a famous wizard sent to die. For a time, even if it was just now, he wanted to be just Harry. “No,” he lied.
“He’s forgotten, the poor dear,” Martha frowned. “When was your last heat then, Harry? Do you have an Alpha?”
Harry recoiled at the word Alpha and shook his head. “No, no… I never had an Alpha. I’m on suppressants.” He started to feel like he was boiling. He wanted to peel everything off. His clothes, his skin, his bones—everything. “So hot…”
“Martha,” Reginald Warrington said, looking concerned.
“I know, it’s a Heat Sickness,” Martha Warrington whispered. She turned and said in a sweet tone to Harry, “You don’t have to worry about anything now, boy. You’re in good hands. You just rest now.”
“So hot… okay,” Harry said, and his eyes slipped closed.
Martha and Reginald Warrington stared down at the sleeping Omega in the strange clothes on their sofa. He was burning, and before they could do anything, they knew they had to move quickly. Martha called for all of their house-elves while Reginald carried the boy, who was much too light in his opinion for a sixteen-year-old Omega, to their guest bedroom. He found a wand in the boy’s pocket along with a strange knife. “At least he isn’t a muggle,” Reginald muttered to himself as he placed both on the bedside table.
He used his own wand to cast cooling charms on the blankets and pillows before the house-elves came in to monitor the boy’s temperature and the temperature of the room. “First, we have this blasted war with Grindelwald, and now boys are falling out of my ceiling. What next will happen?” he said as Martha came into the room.
“I’ve called a Healer, they’ll be here shortly. Did you find anything on him?” she asked.
“Just the boy’s wand and a knife, they’re both on the table,” Reginald said.
“The poor boy, how do you think he’s gotten here?” she asked.
“I do not know, my dear, but must tell Ambrose about this; it wouldn’t look proper to have a strange Omega his age in his home without knowing,” Reginald said.
“I’ll speak with the Malfoys. He is with Abraxas today,” Martha said.
“Jolly good,” Reginald said. He moved to a small armchair in the guest room and waved his wand. His newspaper that he was reading appeared, and he said, “I will look after our new guest until the healer arrives.”
He opened the newspaper and continued to read. In bed, Harry groaned and started to speak in his sleep. He mentioned names. Sirius. Draco. Cedric. Fred. George. Remus. And apologized for each one. Reginald, always a stoic man, had a soft spot for Omegas, and he couldn’t help but frown and shake his head. “The boy had a hard life,” he said solemnly. “What an utter shame. What is the world coming to?”
