Work Text:

Of all the rooms in the law office, the library always gave Lee a sensation of being exposed. She thought of the raw stinging in her mind at having received one of Mr. Grey's earliest instances of a verbal lashing that preceded her first summoning into the study. She had tried to reinvent herself for him after the shock to her system the day before and shuffled into the patterned library in her brand new pencil skirt with white fishnet stockings peeking out underneath. The pencils she nervously twisted in her grip were sharpened and primed to pierce the skin. The temptation needled at her under the surface as the wood and graphite warmed in her hands. she would have given anything in that first moment, to feel the pain take her away from the mortifying ordeal of being perceived in her entirety. An exposure that soon softened into something else, as she went from being seen to being known.

To being recognized.

It was that afternoon, in the soft orange glow of the library that Lee felt seen in a way that she didn't yet have the words to express. Knees almost touching on a plush cream couch, she made a commitment to him, and he, in his own way through the jarring snap of a polaroid, to her. They were Two walled-up individuals moving closer into each others' orbits, cracks in their walls beginning to form as they awake to the thought of something More.

The room itself was not used regularly, as Mr. Grey preferred his office for the conducting of his day-to-day affairs. Lee came to know that Mr. Grey tended most to the library when he needed to work uninterrupted, and being forced to use the library to meet with others often put him in a particularly tempestuous mood. Unlike the other spaces of the office with meticulously arranged decor, the library was cluttered with a mix of law books and curio spread out amongst all the surfaces of the room. The room had a quiet intimacy to it. Despite the windows on the far wall, it felt private. Removed from the rest of the building, from the rest of the world. Lee never presumed to enter this space without his express direction.

Things had changed substantially since that fateful afternoon, blossoming into an esoteric dance that only they knew the steps to. Their dance's overture began that day as Lee was hunched over her typewriter, on her last file of the day when the intercom crackled to life.

"Ms. Holloway, please report to the library, at once."

Across the mechanical tin of the speaker, Lee noted the drop in tone when Mr. Grey uttered "at once." She quickly rose to her feet, blood rushing up to her head and down to her crotch as she hurried down the hall.

She remembered how Mr. Grey had tried to assuage her nervousness when they spoke.
She was too thrown off by the bluntness of Mr. Grey's questioning at the time to wonder why a man who ostensibly disliked sweets might have a piping hot glass of sweet cocoa with him. It was a thoughtful gesture from a man trying on gentleness for the first time. no other language to express the sentiment.

I'm shy, too.

She was thrown into disbelief by that as well, at the time.

There was no shyness, or cloying mugs of chocolate in sight as she closed the door to the library behind her as she entered. The room's characteristic warm glow was the same as it ever was, the diffused light from the lamps casting shadows on the stacks of legal documents strewn about. Her eyes scanned across the room and focused on Mr. Grey, reclining on the plush lounge while very pointedly focusing on the pages of a deposition.
"Mr. Grey?" She didn't dare intrude further into the study without invitation, but Mr. Grey gave no indication that he was in any rush to acknowledge her presence, his hastiness on the intercom seemingly evaporated into the faded wallpaper of the room.

The silence, the waiting, the humiliation of not yet being deigned worthy of his attention. Familiar opening steps. Lee shifted her weight on her leather kitten heels as Mr. Grey lightly wet his fingertip before flipping to the next page of his reading.

After what probably was moments, but felt like an eternity, Mr. Grey moved in a fluid motion from his recline. He sat up on the couch and swung his legs forward from the couch spreading them as his feet touched the ground. His right arm rested on the sofa, and he gestured with left to the open space he had made.

"Come here."

She moved from the threshold of the door and into his domain without further hesitation. The moody lighting of the room cast a shadow across Mr. Grey's face. Lee sensed that Mr. Grey often carried with him some type of inner turmoil, but whatever traces she saw would quickly disappear before she could try to acknowledge their presence. He shifted in the light, and shadows moved off his face, bathing it in a gentle glow. He had remarkably wide doe eyes that lended an almost angelic affect to his appearance, ironic considering his temperament.

"Let me explain why I've brought you in, Ms. Holloway."

He spoke in an unhurried and conversational tone and Lee's contemplation moved downward from his face to his suit. Dark jacket, dark shirt, dark tie. A dark jewel toned purple and black, like an orchid in the night time. She wondered as she stared into the metallic shine of the buckle on his black leather belt, what it might take to give him something to hurry up about.

"How long have you worked here, Lee?" Her eyes darted back up.

"almost six months, sir."

"I believe it will be six months, tomorrow, in fact."

"Oh, um, that's nice." She replied sheepishly. She had, in fact, realized that, and the scribbled hearts on the calendar in her bedroom were proof, but Lee was sure Mr. Grey would scoff at such a childish admission. She blushed at that imagined embarrassment.

The sound of Mr. Grey clearing his throat snapped her out of her reverie.

"You know what this means, Lee?" Mr. Grey's tone stayed casual, but Lee could sense something brewing behind Mr. Grey's unbroken stare.

"Um...no sir."

"I'm going to have to conduct your performance evaluation. You've had ample time to acclimate," Mr. Grey gestured off-handedly at Lee's person, "...to your responsibilities as my secretary." He shifted relaxed poses on the couch and brought his fingertips together.

"Don't get me wrong Lee, you've come a long way since we've started."

The sincerity surprised Lee and she felt butterflies in her stomach, separate from the arousal warming under the thin layer of her pencil skirt and her hands neatly clasped in front of her. "But..." he cocked his head to the side. "I'm sure we both can agree that there's still quite a few areas that remain in need of improvement." Lee glanced down and a smile faintly played at the edges of her lips. That was more like it.

She breathed in, squared her shoulders and looked up to meet his gaze with an unwavering sincerity to match the admission he just made.

It was that same sincerity which drew Mr. Grey further and further out to her, against his own anxiety and supposed better judgement.

"I'm happy to do whatever it takes to improve my performance as your secretary, sir."

"Good." Their eyes locked for a moment more, and Lee could see in Mr. Grey's gaze the moment he decided that he was content of circling around her, and was ready to get things done.

"Get on your knees."

The collegial warmth had dropped out of his voice, and Lee's body reacted to the command before her mind could finish processing it. She Lowered herself down in front of him wobblily, still unused to the restriction of Mr. Grey's preferred secretarial attire. She felt small as she sat on the ground in front of him, and found herself at eye level with the belt buckle that caught her attention earlier. It was an awkward position on the ground, and her skirt began to ride up her thighs. She was oblivious to at all as she sat transfixed as she watched Mr. Grey's hands moved towards the glinting metal buckle and began unhooking it.

Usually, Mr. Grey would keep her turned away from him, leaving her to fantasize about most aspects of his person. She had certainly felt his belt quite a few times now in successions of quick sharp stings on her behind. But to be this close...was uncharted territory and Lee forced herself to not make a fool out of herself just yet. She willed herself to listen to the words coming out of Mr. Grey's mouth and not just the unzipping of his pants.

"One of your primary roles is answering the phone. You promised that you would work that little throat of yours to answer my clients properly." Lee swallowed hard at the callback to her throat. She thought, at the time, that it was a joke on his part. Mr. Grey leaned forward and ran a finger up Lee's neck and across Lee's lips.

She swallowed hard.

"You clearly still don't know anything about how to use that pretty mouth of yours, so I'm going to teach you. You need to learn how to get this right if you're going to keep calling yourself my secretary. Are we clear?"

"Yes sir." Lee was ready.

"Open your mouth."

She parted her lips and Mr. Grey slid a finger in between the mauve polished lips.

"Use your tongue and move up and down. Slowly. Not your teeth. Use your lips."

He slowly moved his finger back and forth while Lee got the hang of the action.

"Good girl. I know you can do it. I've seen you read all those dirty little articles in your magazines when you're supposed to be typing. Put it to work." She flushed at the embarrassment of Mr. Grey having seen the issues of Cosmo she kept at her desk, not that she hadn't left them out on top of her case files with the most lewd editorials dogeared and clearly annotated for the whole world to see.

Or for her boss to see. Which, to Lee, Mr. Grey may very well be the whole world. Or at least, the only part that mattered to her.

Then, just as she found something close to a rhythm, the finger slid out of her mouth. A thin trail of saliva dripped from the corner of her mouth and she quickly wiped it off with the back of her hand, smudging her lipstick in the process. Mr. Grey's breath hitched slightly at the sight of Lee disheveled at his feet.

"Come here."

His voice was low and heavy and Lee scootched closer into his lap and between his legs. His prick was pushing against the fabric of his boxers and Lee could see where the tip was leaking moisture onto the fabric. Lee's hands balled into fists against the edges of her skirt as she struggled to maintain her restraint. She watched, entranced, as Mr. Grey ran his hand up and down, stroking his length through the fabric before taking her by the chin and positioning her mouth in front of the tip of his penis.

His voice was a breathy whisper. "Now...just like we practiced. Are you ready?"

"Yes sir."

He finished pulling himself out of his boxers and gently pushed Lee's head onto the tip. Her lips gripped around the head of his penis and her tongue gently probed at the unfamiliar sensation. She traced his tip with her tongue before moving down to where the head met the shaft, trying to commit as much to memory as she could while she acquainted herself. There was no guarantee she would be afforded such a privilege again. The quiet gasps of Mr. Grey were not lost on Lee's ears. Usually, those sounds would only spill out at the very end, and hearing them so soon fueled her exploration further as she began to bob up and down furtively, accustoming herself to his length in her throat. Not in Peter's wildest dreams would Lee have serviced him so rapturously.

She pressed her thighs together and tried to shift around the growing heat in her lap. She thought she might be able to sneak her hand over with Mr. Grey in his current state, but his leg jerked up and her bratty little palm was stopped by the tip of Grey's patent letter shoe.

"No distractions." His eyes were lidded but his stare still carried power over her and she froze mid-bob.

"Turn around and clasp your hands behind your back."

The spell broke and she removed herself from his dick. She stole a glance at his length glistening with her saliva, rock hard and flushed at the tip where she had paid so much careful attention. She took it all in and turned away as commanded. She tried to mask the rush of disappointment at her indiscretion taking her away from her unfished work. Lee's eyes were fixed on the old map hanging at the opposite end of the room. Her eyes remained locked on the map, absorbing none of it, her other senses fixed on the cool silk of Mr. Grey's tie binding her hands together. He pulled sharply and her wrists strained against the tightly wrapped layers of fabric.

"Now get back on your knees, and try to focus on your work, Ms. Holloway."

"Yes sir." She tried to lower herself gracefully back to her station at the foot of the sofa but her attention was captured by Mr. Grey running his hand up the length of his shaft.

Lee was dangerously close to falling over as her knees reached the floor but her trajectory was interrupted as Mr. Grey quickly leaned forward and placed one hand on her shoulder while the other gripped her cheeks. Lee felt connected to the Earth as he steadied her.

"Really, Ms. Holloway. I cannot have you tripping over yourself like a schoolgirl. You're my secretary. Act like it." The reminders were pointed, but delivered with a breathy impatience, bordering on desperation.

His thumb brushed her cheek with the faintest of pressure but it felt like a match striking the nerves on her skin ablaze. She was starving for more of that feeling, more of that touch, a wildfire across all of her.

all of them. feeling together.

But there was work to be done, and the hands moved to Lee's hair and fingers intertwined with the plaits of her braids as he pulled her towards him.

He pushed her down forcefully and Lee was taking in all of Mr. Grey into her mouth.

He set the rhythm, and Lee diligently kept the pace. The restraints on her wrist restricted her movement, the smooth silk digging into her skin which spurred her on further. Her tongue glided up and down his length, teasing at the tip as she raised and lowered her makeup smudged lips up and down, again and again.

Knees planted firmly on the floor of the library, Lee surrendered herself to her work. There were no thoughts to form, just sensation.

The burn of the wrists.

The electric warmth of her cunt.

The quiet ragged breaths of Mr. Grey.

The only indication that time was passing was measured in Grey's growing restlessness. His fingers, now tangled in what was once an up-do, began to pull more tightly. She couldn't lift her head up to see his face, but she could hear his breathing becoming more sharp and ragged. Most importantly, she could feel him growing harder in her mouth which only encouraged her efforts further as she bobbed along the thickening muscle.

Mr. Grey came undone with remarkable restraint, but his body betrayed him once, a desperate hungry moan escaping as he finished in Lee's mouth. Lee understood that hunger as she swallowed his seed eagerly. She had earned this fruit of her labors, his approval taken into her body. After a moment, she felt herself being guided off of him. Mr. Grey held her face in his hand as if it would shatter in his grasp. It was an almost disorienting gentleness while her scalp was still tender from being pulled. His thumb brushed away the mess of makeup and fluid on her cheek.

She looked up and they held each-other's gaze wordlessly. It was a silent afterglow, one Lee wanted to stay in forever. She wondered if Mr. Grey did too, even if he was the one to always break the peace first.

"Well done. Now, Stand up."

It was a command, but without the characteristic power behind it. Regardless, Lee obeyed.

He gestured for her to turn around and he began to unbind her wrists.

She could feel him gently turn each wrist over, and glide his thumb across the skin, checking that it was not broken.

For a moment, it felt like his lips had touched her wrist, a faint phantom of a kiss. Or was that her wishful thinking?

"Go fetch the tissues from the desk and clean up the mess you caused."

The corners of her lips curled into a small smile at being labelled the cause of such indiscretion. She quickly grabbed the tissues and returned to Mr. Grey. With the same attention that he paid to her wrists, she paid to him cleaning him off and making sure that there were no unseemly stains visible on his tailored suit.

He stood up from the sofa and straightened his clothes. He moved to put his tie back on but paused when he noticed Lee's stare fixed on the dark red silk.

"Here. Take this to get dry-cleaned. I trust you will...take care of it as you know best."

"Yes sir. Right away sir."

An expression of ease and contentment flickered briefly on Mr. Grey's face.

"No need to do it right away, Lee. You've worked quite hard today. Why don't you clean yourself up and finish the Collins file before you go home. I have no doubt you'll return the tie when you're finished with it."

"Yes, Mr. Grey."

"Oh and, before I forget," the closest expression to a carefree smile Lee had seen Mr. Grey make painted his face, "we still have more to cover in your evaluation. Pencil in a few hours tomorrow after the pre-trial preparations are finished. We'll also need to revisit what we covered here today. I need to be sure you're committed to improving to learning on the job."

"Of course, Mr. Grey. Anything to help me be the secretary you want me to be." She was afraid to say needed me to be, but they both knew what was meant. She locked eyes with him once more, a final glance, before promptly turning on her kitten heel and walked out of the library, beelining past her desk to the mercifully empty bathroom.

She stood in front of the sink and with a clumsy hand, tied the tie around her neck. She had committed the steps to memory after reading the instructions in an article on how to impress your boyfriend from one of her "lewd magazines". Moving hurriedly she managed something approaching a respectable knot around her neck and she stared for a moment at the reflection of his tie hanging loosely over her wrinkled lilac top. She turned into one of the stalls and slammed the lock shut before frantically groping at herself over her pencil skirt. One hand fumbled its way into her panties while she kept the other hanging onto the silk knot at her throat.

Her breaths were fast and shallow and her senses were still fresh with the remnants of the library on her person. Lee could taste the lingering bitterness on her tongue as Edward's name now spilled across it. She only dared to call him by his first name when she was alone. She whispered it to herself like a fevered daydream as she pulled tighter on the tie, hanging from her neck like a victory trophy, and worked herself into a frenzy. Edward was her only anchor to the Earth as she came hard into her hand moving furiously against her warmth, back pressed against the stall. She held onto the tie for dear life as the waves of release washed over her. After a few minutes of labored breathing, she straightened her skirt, and tucked her shirt back in. She had become adept at piecing herself back together in the confines of the bathroom stall. She waited until she was ready to exit before finally taking off the tie. It was now even more wrinkled, and in desperate need of a pressing. As she pushed open the bathroom door, exiting into what would be an ostensibly mundane end of the work day, Lee pondered to herself how many days could she hold onto Mr. Grey's tie before he would notice she hadn't returned it. Her fingers mechanically punched out the final revisions of the Collins file as her thoughts turned to what the most appropriate punishment would be for a forgetful secretary who 'lost' her boss's tie.

There was always another lesson for Lee to learn, and as she slipped the tie into her bag at the end of the day, thoughts wandering to what the subject of tomorrow's meeting would be, she hoped that Mr. Grey would forever find new ways to build her into his perfect secretary.

Notes:

A/N: I haven't written fic in 6+ years, but watching Secretary altered my brain chemistry. Love a true match-my-freak couple :')

This was going to be a warm-up to get back in the habit of writing, but a whole dang fic came out of it. I actually made an Ao3 just to have somewhere to house these works outside my brain, so I apologize for any funky formatting. Constructive criticism is whole-heartedly accepted <3

Anyhoo, thanks for reading! Stay freaky.
