Chapter Text
“Come on Deku!” Yaoyorozu whined as she looked down at the sitting Alpha.
Midoriya Izuku leaned back in his seat in class 3-A. It was their final year. After fighting for their lives and all the lives of Japan for their first year in this godforsaken school that was UA, you'd think that they would be more excited to leave. They were, but when you’ve taught a bird to love its golden cage, it finds it rather hard to want to leave.
Midoriya sighed as he shook his head. “I’m sorry, Yaoyorozu-chan, but I think you have got the wrong person in our year.” He put his large hands up in surrender, bowing his head briefly.
“Midoriya, please.” Iida Tenya spoke out next as he leaned against the wall that Midoriya’s desk was beside. His arms were folded over his chest, the large Alpha had his usual glasses sitting on his nose, still never changing their design or shape all this time. Midoriya had never really fully understood why Iida would always call him by his family name despite them being like brothers now. “You are the top hero in training of our year. You have made sacrifices upon sacrifices for Japan. It feels suited that you be the one to give our leaving speech.”
Midoriya couldn’t deny that either. H let out a breath as he tried not to think about it too much.
He glanced to the front of the classroom. “Where’s-”
“Did you guys hear?” Uraraka spoke as she walked over to Midoriya’s desk.
Midoriya had to stop ever bone in his body from rolling his eyes so far back in his head so that he could find whatever last braincells he had for Uraraka. That sounded rude, but Midoriya gave himself the grace of being rude. Despite the brunette Beta having the figure of a sculpture, Midoriya was not swayed. The two had dated for a while in second year but it did not end well. Unfortunately they shared the same friend group and so it meant awkward encounters and conversations.
Uraraka glanced across the class, her brown eyes caught on someone, her eyebrows furrowed and tight. “Apparently rumours are spreading about Y/N from her previous school.” She said as she glanced back at the group.
Iida and Youyorozu glanced at one another. Asui Tsuyu put a finger to her chin as she sat on the desk behind Midoriya. She tilted her head, her scent patches on her neck revealed as she did so. “Really? About what?” She croaked.
Uraraka glanced back over to you where you sat with Mina and Denki. The two of you busy in your own conversation, looking at something on Denki’s phone as he laughed. In the seat in front of where you were standing, was Kirishima and Bakugo. The two were in a deeply heated makeout session, shamelessly in class. The blond Omega sat on the redheaded Head Alpha’s thick lap, his arms wrapped around Kirishima’s neck as his lips moved against the Alphas.
Midoriya shivered in disgust.
“Apparently,” Uraraka started, “She was in some sort of relationship with a teacher. His scent being caught in her nest in boarding school.” A soft twitch of her lips caught Midoriya’s attention. A soft almost satisfied smirk.
Yaoyorozu gasped at the words, her hands covering her mouth as she straightened up. “Really?” She asked scandalised at the thought.
Todoroki sighed, long strands brushed over his lashes as he leaned forward, majority of his red and white haired tied back out of his face. “Is there any other proof that her and this teacher were in a sexual or romantic relationship?” He asked. “Many Omegas keep their caregivers items in their nests, especially if they are close to the teacher.”
Uraraka stiffened, her rosy cheeks deepening in colour. “Well… no but-”
“I don’t feel comfortable judging a circumstance I do not know enough information about.” Midoriya spoke out honestly as he leaned to rest his head on his left hand. “Y/N is not that type of Omega and there’s an explanation for everything.”
His green eyes flicked over to you as your loud laugh reached his ears. You stood in the UA uniform skirt, a glimpse of the scent blockers you had on your inner thighs could be seen from here. Midoriya had to stop his mind from wandering. You entered their class at the beginning of second year, and you had become part of the pack. You were raised and sponsored by the Hero Commission that vouched behind her all the way.
Midoriya couldn’t blame them, you were powerful and gorgeous. You had a really strong scent for an Omega, similar to Bakugo. Your scent was intoxicating when fully relieved, something Midoriya himself had yet to smell fully without the hinderance of some sort of pill or scent blocker.
Midoriya was not used to all the new Alpha needs and wants that wrecked his body. He was born a Beta. His mother was a Beta and his father… well he was never sure about that department. However, he never presented and came into UA as a Beta. But as he adjusted to his quirk, One for All, he surprisingly presented into an Alpha. His scent was stronger, smelling more of fresh new books, ink and fresh earth after the rain. Or so he’s been told. Midoriya was not exactly sure how he smelled like afterall.
He was not used to the physical changes that happened the most either. From the growth of canines that had his mouth hurting for weeks, a random growth spurt that had all his clothes rendered either useless or needing to be adjusted, and worst of all… the knot. Midoriya had once been envious of Alphas and their knots, the ability to pleasure an Omega or female due to it. But after waking up one morning and finding his penis looking different, he was not quite sure he could still feel the same amount of envy.
And he definitely did not appreciate it when it was revealed that he was a Prime Alpha. Prime Alphas were rare, about 3 percent of the Alpha population in Japan. For a Beta kid from a single mother household who was quirkless and seen as useless, to become a Prime Alpha, was a crazy thing in his mind. However the biggest clash was the Alpha dynamics in class, Midoriya Izuku was now at the same level as Kirishima Eijiro, the only other Prime Alpha in UA currently, who also just so happened to be the Head Alpha of their pack.
And the boyfriend of the Omega who bullied him. An Omega he once loved hated.
“Alright, settle down! Settle down!” Aizawa Shota walked into class with the same tired energy as ever. His dark eye moved to Bakugou and Kirishima. Was he surprised? No not really, especially since Kirishima Eijiro was the Head Alpha of Pack A and Bakugo Katsuki wash is Head Omega, making them the ruling couple of the pack. Eevrything they did in public although might not be planned, was intentionally by the secondary genders. A signed of dominance in a pack. Aizawa, however, had little to no energy to deal with that. “OI!” The Alpha growled, grabbing his spray bottle off his desk and aiming it at the two of them. “If I see you two on each other again in class, your both getting detention. In separate wings of the school.”
Bakugo turned with a scowl at the black-haired Alpha that was his homeroom teacher. Kirishima, despite one of his red spikes growing limp due to the water, chuckled, never deterred. His large arms holding his Omega with affection like always. “Sorry, Sensei.” He apologised. He leaned close to Bakugo’s ear to whisper something just for the blond.
Whatever he said seemed to somewhat lift the sandy blond’s mood as his scowl eased. He let out a low hiss as he got up, shoving his hands in his baggy pants and moving to his seat in front of Midoriya. Everyone took their seats in order not to incur their annoyed homeroom teacher’s wrath.
Aizawa took a deep breath as he looked up at the tile board ceiling with a deep sigh. He reminded himself, Just a few more months, just a few more months and I can make them the governments problem. “Today we have a very special guest from the Hero Public Safety Commission. Mr Watanabe.” He motioned to the doorway as a Beta man in a black suit walked into the classroom.
All eyes went to him as he walked in followed by a large looking device on wheels that was being wheeled into the classroom. It was a as tall as Aizawa Sensei’s desk however it had a semi-sphere of glass on top of it that was opaque. Followed by that were cameras, and TV crew. Midoirya’s eyebrows raised in surprise at the sudden appearance of TV crew. His class was used to dealing with them on the streets as ProHeroes, not in their classrooms. Almost immediately everyone was looking around the classroom at the sudden lenses in their faces, microphones in the air and added lights.
“Uh… Sensei…” Kaminari Denki started as he looked around rather excited but also uncertain. His own lightning yellow eyes moving around his surroundings at a fast pace. “What’s going on?” He asked what everyone else was thinking.
Before Aizawa Sensei could even open his mouth to respond, the man in the black suit stepped forward. “I am glad you asked, Mr Kaminari.” He spoke with a showbiz wide smile as he pointed a finger at the blond Omega, whose eyes grew as large as saucers at the sudden attention from a stranger. “First of all,” Mr Watanabe turned his attention to a certain redhead in the class. His own eyes, despite being a Beta, bore into Kirishima’s with an intensity of a man who was hiding something and it made Kirishima feel rather weary. Mr Watanabe bowed at the waist, his head bowing to him. “Head Alpha Kirishima, it’s an honour.”
Midoriya rolled his eyes to the back of his skull as he looked out the window of the classroom. Midoriya was not sure what it was exactly that made him so annoyed by Kirishima Eijiro. Kirishima had not done anything necessarily bad to him but ever since he had presented into an Alpha, he found that the other Prime in his class was a thorn in his side and an annoyance. It felt like he was being suffocated and he didn’t know why. It did not help that Kirishima seemed to pick up on this tension as it was affecting him too. Aizawa Sensei had told him not to act on it and just keep his head down.
However, Midoriya found that a problem when everything Kirishima did seemed to piss him off.
“You look just like your sire.” That peaked Kirishima’s attention at the mention of his sire. Before he could open his own mouth to comment the Beta straightened up and moved on. “Now, I want to welcome you, class 3-A to the experiment of a lifetime! The Hero commission has chosen you guys, the apple of Japan’s public’s eyes, to become the new stars for supporting the hero commission and gaining approval ratings before you even graduate and step out as ProHeroes next year!” He announced with a broad smile like it was winning the lottery. “Isn’t that exciting!?” He asked clapping his hands together.
The class was silent.
Mr Watanabe blinked before blowing out a breath in disappointment. “Damn, tough crowd.” He said looking back at Aizawa.
Aizawa shrugged as he leaned against the wall but was proud of his class for not being so gullible and excited for something when the Hero Commission was involved.
“Okay so all of this is to be televised as you can tell from our lovely camera crew! You will be split into pairs, one masc and one femme, and you will be working together to do the unthinkable.” He snapped his fingers and the projector board snapped to the icon of a-
“Is that a pacifier?” Mina asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes!” Mr Watanabe nodded his head. “Pups! What’s more wonderful than a baby?”
“A stack of cash?” Uraraka stated simply.
“An Aston Martin.” Bakugo looked at his nails, not fased remotely.
“An oil rig.” Midoriya’s eyebrows furrowed before he moved his head to look to Momo. The Omega went pink in the cheeks as she looked down flustered at the answer she gave.
Mr Watanabe dropped his shoulders. “Are you unaware of the population of our country right now?”
“We’re teenagers, dude!” Denki called out loudly from where he sat. “We don’t care.”
“Well you will have to care because this makes up 60% of your year mark if you want to pass.” Mr Watanabe revealed making everyone go quiet. He smiled broadly, glad for their silent cooperation. “Perfection! As I was saying, you will all be split into pairs and watched on how you all tackle living your lives and raising a baby. You will all be provided with an apartment that has already been built on UA campus for your own safety, as well as you will all have to get jobs!”
“Jobs?” Sero asked with pure terror on his face.
“Yes, a job! You will be paid in Yen for your jobs as well as hero training on the side and then you can spend it on your very own credit cards we will be distributing to you and many little mini events and milestones to achieve!” Mr Watanabe took a clipboard off Aizawa Sensei’s desk and looked down at the list. “Now lets start with our first pairing…” His dark brown eyebrows furrowed as he looked down at the list before looking up scanning the classroom from left to right. “Midoriya Izuku.”
Immediately Midoriya stiffened as he realised his own name was called out. He tried his best not to go red in the face but with every microsecond that passed he found it increasingly harder to do so.
He was shocked his own name was called out first, especially for a process like this. It was like playing life for a class assignment, a very weird odd class assignment but with the way UA was, he stopped questioning it. Midoriya stood up from his seat, pushing out his chair and moving towards the front of the classroom. He tried his best not to let his heart jump out his mouth as he walked up to the front of the class.
Mr Watanabe gave him a grin that did not make the green haired Alpha feel any better. “That’s the spirit, Midoriya. Lets have you stand right here.” He pointed to a spot just in front of Ojiro. Midoriya shuffled to stand there and tried his best not to break a sweat. This was not how he thought the second half of his school year would go. Mr Watanabe looked him up and down. “Wow… you’ve gotten larger in the past year. Been eating your vegetables young man?” He asked slapping Midoriya on the back making the eighteen-year-old let out a grunt. Midoriya looked back at him with wide eyes at the sudden contact. “Now the lovely Omega for this big piece of meat-”
Big piece of meat? Midoriya had never thought of himself to be considered a piece of meat before.
Suddenly Mr Watanabe called your name.
Midoriya immediately turned to you. You sat with wide eyes at your name being called out. However you didn’t seem mad at it. On the contrary, you smiled. You stood up, ignoring your friends calls and teasing comments. You pet down your green skirt as you walked to the front of the class. You walked to stand in front of Midoriya a smile on your face at the Alpha now in front of you.
Watanabe looked between the both of you, the pairing that was assigned by the executives. He had never thought of it before, the two of you together, but it looked good now that it stood in front of him. “What an adorable pairing.” He stated. “Now, please join hands.” He motioned to the both of you.
Midoriya turned back to you. He swallowed down hard as red crawled up his neck. He tried a smile on his face but it came out a bit more awkward than he thought it would. You couldn’t help but giggle at his face. He put his hands out for you to take, a customary thing amongst masc and femme dynamics. You appreciated his curtesy of your feelings and took his hands. They were large, his fingers long and thick and his palm rough. He used his hands a lot and they were very scarred from his first year in UA. Despite the sight of them, you were not deterred by the sight of them. They were the hands of a man who worked hard to be the hero that he was.
You took his hands and smiled.
“Now.” Watanabe cleared his throat and motioned to the both of you. “With the power invested in me by the Japan’s Hero Public Safety Commission, I now pronounce you Alpha and Omega, Husband and Wife.”
The both of your eyes flew as wide as plates. Midoriya turned as red as a tomato as he turned to the Beta next to the both of you. “WAIT WHAT-”
Watanabe took both of your hands and placed the both of them on the panel. Suddenly you both felt a prick on your fingers. You let out a soft yelp as you drew your hand back. Midoriya drew his hand back with a low growl fighting its way to his throat which he tried to swallow down. Suddenly the box device seemed to activate. A red light blinked on and there was a low humming from inside the machine. Smoke seemed to fill up the dome and for a moment you were both too entranced with what was going on to fully be reminded of the fact that you were both just pricked by a needle.
It took three seconds before you heard a sound like a microwave finished warming something. The sphere split in half and opened and all of a sudden sitting at the bottom of the sphere was a baby. Instantly something within you resonated with it. The baby was asleep and was the perfect blend between you and Midoriya. It had green curly hair that were undeniably Midoriya in origin and soft freckles almost unnoticeable. You stepped closer towards the baby that lay there. Your breath was taken out of your chest. It felt like waking up from a dream where you were a mother, not being able to find the baby from your dream and finally finding them again.
Midoriya was speechless. A baby. A chubby little baby sat curled, quiet and the size of a newborn. Out of all the things in the semi-sphere, he did not think that it would be a baby. A baby that looked like him and like you. Something within him, the new primal beast that roamed underneath his skin, stirred restless at that.
“Tadah!” Watanabe motioned down to the baby. “Meet your very own robo-baby. A baby fashioned to look like the both of you and will be the defining factor of this experiment. All the manual and instructions are on your tablet here.” A helper from the side moved to bring a large gift basket and handed it to Midoriya. Despite having to carry the basket with both hands, Midoriya easily took the basket with one hand, undeterred by its weight. Watanabe said your last name and motioned for you to take the baby.
You looked to the baby then to Midoriya before looking down again. You let out a breath and reached down to take it. You carefully put the robotic baby against your chest. That’s when you realised it was breathing. It’s tiny little chest moving up and down and its skin under its onesie was warm. It… it felt alive. You supported the baby’s head and its bottom as you held the weight of a life in your arms.
“Congratulations your both parents! We hope with this experiment you are both shown how the Hero Commission supports the people of Japan and we support family planning and procreation.” Mr Watanabe started shooing the both of you out of the classroom making you both forced to leave the classroom. “May the odds be ever in your favour!” Your homeroom classroom door was shut in your face and suddenly you and Midoriya were stuck with a baby in your arms.
You walked with Midoriya silently down the brick pathway of UA. The serene beautiful pathways was calming with large trees that swayed in the wind and rsutled ever so slightly. Considering that it was still class time, it was quiet everywhere one looked. You and Midoriya had not spoken much to one another. The both of you still shell shocked with what had happened during class. The two of you walked side by side, ignoring the buzzing robotic camera that was shaped like a sort of bord that followed the both of you around.
You glanced over to the green haired Alpha on your left hand side. His eyebrows were furrowed as he seemed stuck in his thoughts, his mind racing as he thought a thousand and one different thoughts at once. Typical Midoriya, you thought. You found it comforting that he didn’t seem to be upset about the fact that he was paired with you, or at least you hoped he wasn’t. You both did not really get much time to process it after being practically married and having a child and promptly pushed out of class all in the span of a minute.
You couldn’t help a few giggles that filtered out of your mouth, which made Midoriya turn to you. You were giggling to yourself, trying to stifle it but it kept bubbling out of you. Midoriya couldn’t help but smile at the sound of your giggles. You tried to cover it up as you glanced back up at him. “I’m so sorry.” You giggled softly. “I just… I find this entire situation absolutely ridiculous.”
Midoriya heard your teasing and he too himself could not help but laugh too. His own soft giggles mixed with yours as you both walked side by side. “I guess you’re right. This is ridiculous.”
You both made it to the new apartment buildings that stood tall looking like your normal dorm building but noticeably different although you couldn’t put a finger to it. You both entered moving to the normal styled foyer you were used to. Before you could try and take off your shoes, Izuku had set down the gift basket that you were both given and was moving to untie your shoes. Your eyebrows raised high in surprise.
“Sorry if I am overstepping.” He said as he focused on undoing your laces and slipping out your feet so that it can go on the smooth floors. “I just…” His hands were gentle with you, almost as if you were precious and worth being held with such care. He flicked his eyes up to you from where he crouched by your side. “I don’t want you to bend down when you are holding the baby.”
You blinked before looking down at the little sleepy baby that was still curled up against your chest. The weight had become natural to your arms for a moment you nearly forgot you weren’t just coming to the dorms like normal. He was thinking about you and the baby. A purr came out of your chest, making Midoriya’s eyes widened in surprise, you were purring. You were please with him. Your scent turned sweet and approving of the Alpha that was crouched in front of you. “Thank you.” You told him genuinely as he helped you slip of your shoes and put on your slippers.
He cleared his throat, trying to ignore the warm feeling in his chest as he found deep satisfaction in making you happy. He took off his own red shoes and the both of you headed to the elevators. He looked at the sticker on the gift package. “Level Three, Apartment 301.” He read out loud. The both of you entered the elevator and it did not take long to enter a hallway with just one door on it. Izuku opened the door for you and you both stepped inside.
Your eyes widened at the smell of a new apartment, the one before you. The entrance corridor had a door to your left that was open and lead to a bathroom. Further along you saw an open kitchen with white counters that extended to an island and barstools. There was a balcony that had a sliding door that let in fresh air, an air conditioner mounted on the wall above the sliding door. There was only basic furniture with a low two seater couch, a coffee table. There was two doors against the next wall, both open and you could see two bedrooms, both identical looking by the sights of it. Between the two bedrooms, the luggage you both came with from the dorms was pilled between them, yet to be sorted into separate rooms.
You stepped in with wide eyes, taking it all in. You were shocked that over the break UA and the Commission could pull this all together. If you thought about it a bit more, it wasn’t that surprising. The Commission could do anything they set their mind to. You would know personally.
“Wow…” You let out softly. You then noticed something sitting on the kitchen table. You walked over to it to see what looked like a bassinet but instead of a light mattress base that a baby would typically sleep on, you noticed in the middle of it was what looked like a wireless charging pad. You tilted your head in confusion.
“That’s for the baby.” You turned to look to Midoriya who had set down the fruit basket on the table and was holding a tablet in his hand. His green eyes moved back to you and he motioned to the tablet in his hands. “It says here that after fifteen minutes from receiving our robo-baby, it will switch itself on. It can’t be switched off by anyone other than a Hero Commission representative.” He read off the tablet. He scrolled. “This seems to be a guide about the assignment.” He told you and then started reading out loud.
He read about how your robotic love child functioned as a regular baby. It did everything a human baby did. It would cry, eat, sleep, interact, pee and poop (an unnecessary feature you believed but nevertheless it seems like this was a realistic immersive experience). The baby had a perfect score of 100 and the less the baby’s needs were met (physical and psychological), the score would go down.
Along with the baby, there are jobs that are listed on the tablet for you all to do, every week you’ll be paid into the credit cards that were in the gift basket and you could use that to buy anything and everything you need. Food, other appliances, baby items, and so fourth. UA will run a baby daycare for the babies however-
“50 000 Yen will be deducted!?” You let out in surprise as you stepped forward closer to Midoriya to make sure he read that correctly.
He sighed as he nodded. “It seems daycare isn’t cheap. So much for government aid.” He folded his arms over his chest as he put a hand to his chin. His eyebrows furrowed as he thought to himself. “I wonder how they managed to design a banking system that corresponds with the shops we go to, the school and the different listed jobs we are allowed. It must have been quite the project to tackle. If this is a whole streamed experience it must mean there’s cameras in our apartment. I hope not in our rooms because that would be a breach of privacy and I doubt they would go to that extent, but knowing the hero commission…” Midoriya was rambling to himself. His mouth moving fast as he seemed to analyse the situation you were both in.
That was the good thing about Midoriya Izuku. He always took everything seriously but more than that, he cared about the circumstances. He was a good guy at heart. Even if half the time you could barely understand him since he was talking too much. You found it cute.
You chuckled softly. Then you heard it. A muffled whine.
Midoriya and you both simultaneously paused. You blinked in surprise as you felt something move against your chest. You both looked down.
Curled up against your chest was the baby, however it wasn’t asleep but awake. Its soft chubby face rubbed against your shirt with a soft grunt before looking up at the both of you. Sleepy little green eyes blinked up at you. Your breath was stolen from your chest the moment you looked down at the little pup. It had Midoriya’s eyes and for some odd reason, you couldn’t think of a better alpha to have given such physical traits to a pup. The pup had a small pouty lips and blinked with long curled lashes.
You both stared at the baby against your chest. Midoriya was speechless, the baby was actually moving. It was alive. Well as alive as a robotic baby could get. He tilted his head at the sight of it between the both of you. “Uh… hello little one.” He started offering his hand to the baby. He reached to gently touch the soft downy head of the baby. He was surprised by how soft and smooth the curls were, like natural hair.
When Midoriya flicked his gaze up to your face, you had a gentle smile on your face, warm maternal love. You held the baby with such a reverence that it looked almost like you were content just staring at it. He had never seen such a look on your face before.
“We should…” You started as you carefully put your hands under the arms of the baby to look at it all over. “We should probably name them.”
Midoriya nodded. “I think you’re right.” He agreed with you. It seemed logical. Suddenly a notification hit the tablet making you both look at it in his hands. A square window blinked up at the both of you. “Oh!” Midoriya said as he read the top line. “It’s a boy.” He said with a smile turning to look at you as excited as can be. “We have a boy!” The moment the statement left his mouth was the moment he realised how intimate that sounded and how maybe that was not the wisest thing to say to an Omega who was his partner for this project. His face bloomed red as he tried not to turn into a tomato. He immediately put a hand to the back of his head as he scratched his scalp looking to the ceiling. “I mean we don’t have a baby. I mean we do but it’s for the project, not actually. It’s not like we actually made a baby together haha! Wouldn’t that be funny. A baby. You and me. I mean I don’t think its funny, it’s kind of actually-”
You put a finger to Midoriya’s lips to stop him from talking. The action made the green haired Alpha bloom red like a tomato, his scent spilling out past his scent patches to smell like fresh rain and a new book. You adored how easily flustered he was. Despite having presented into an Alpha, his core characteristics did not change. You carefully moved to look down at the baby again who looked up at the both of you. “We have a boy.” You said softly with a smile, but then you froze. You looked up at Midoriya. “We don’t have diapers.”
At that revelation your partner and seemingly new husband’s eyes widened. “Oh my God, you’re right. We don’t. We need groceries as well but mostly for the baby. We’ll need a bed and bottles, formula and wipes. We probably also need a sling to keep him tied to us for skin to skin. Maybe also…” He put a hand to his chin as he started to mutter. He took out a notebook which made you wonder where on earth he kept the damn things to always be pulling them out everywhere. It seemed to be a new notebook as he walked to the table and opened the tablet and started creating a list. “You start finding shops we can go to, I’ll have a list ready in a moment.” He told you before muttering again as his pencil flew against the page. “… hm… babies need towels and special soaps too. He is a robotic baby but maybe his skin is sensitive. Is he waterproof?” Midoriya froze and gasped. “What if he stops working in water?!”
You looked at him and your eyes widened. You had not thought of that. If the baby was not waterproof then… You both stared down at the baby. It was silent for another moment. “Add rice to the list.”
A snort came out of Midoriya’s lips as he tried and failed to hide a laugh. “You want to put the baby in rice?”
“Just in case!”
You opened the door to your apartment as Midoriya waddled in behind you, carrying a mountain of items in his arms that barely made him fit through the door. His arms were filled with plastic bags from grocery stores, baby stores and more. He had refused to let you help him carry any of it. The two of you had gone on a bit of a spending spree, but in your defence it was all necessary for your life together. You held the baby in your arms who had been rather quiet the last hour on your excursion out of the dorms and to the mall.
Midoriya let out a grunt as he put down the box of diapers on the counter as well as the bags of groceries and baby essentials. Everything that was not needed immediately would be delivered to UA and to your dormitories tomorrow, something you were grateful for. Midoriya dusted his hands. “Phew! All done.” He said as he put his hands on his hips. “How about I pack the groceries and you can pack the baby’s necessities?”
“That’s fine with me.” You told him as you carefully walked to where the bedroom doors were and froze. You blinked. “Uh… Where is he going to sleep?”
“Excuse me?”
“I mean…” You turned to look at Midoriya. “He is our baby, but I don’t want to assume he is sleeping in my room.”
“Well, we can take turns.” He said simply with a gentle smile. “I can take him one night and you take him the next. Equal bonding and amount of sleep, but so far he’s seemed really qu-” Before Midoriya could even say the word, a whine came from the baby at your chest.
The baby boy’s face scrunched up. His lip wobbling as he fought with emotions too big for his own body. Your eyes widened as panic started to go through you. Your scent spiking at the sign of the upset pup in your arms. “Oh! Don’t cry. Why are you crying?” You asked trying to sound gentle and soothing as you started rocking him in your arms. Despite your attempt, a loud cry left his tiny mouth.
“What’s wrong with him?” Midoriya asked as he quickly made his way to you, panic filling his body at the sight of the pup that was now crying. The distressed sounds of a pup was enough to make any person agitated, let alone a set of new young parents.
“I don’t know.” You said as you rocked him. You tried to think about what could be wrong. He was perfectly fine the past two hours and now he was crying. You tried to think as to what you knew about pup rearing. You did not know much but you did know that whatever this trouble was, there was one answer.
Your instincts.
Omegas had instincts when it came to pups and you had to trust that yours would lead you in the right direction.
Midoriya watched as he saw your pupils fluctuate. Your scent changed. It wasn’t drastically but he could tell the shift. It was slightly more apparent. He saw you lean your nose down to sniff the baby and then you watched him with full attentiveness. You noticed the baby move his face towards your chest, rooting trying to search for a nipple that was not available to him.
You blinked. “Oh, he’s hungry.”
“Hungry!?” Midoriya let out in panic. He quickly raced back to the kitchen counter looking through the bags of baby supplies. “Uh give me a moment! I can do this!”
He knew he had to be useful to you. You were his partner and he needed to make sure you weren’t doing this alone. Already you seemed to have some connection to the baby that he didn’t have it. He knew he had to try. After warming water for the bottle and mixing the formula powder with it, Izuku shook the bottle and tested the temperature with his wrist. He focused on his task trying to ensure that it was optimal for the baby. He moved to hand you the feeding bottle.
“Thank you, Midoriya.” You said as you moved the baby down into the crook of your arm. You shushed the baby softly, trying to calm him down as you patted his little cushioned bottom. The baby cried, clearly distressed as he kept his face angled towards your chest, trying to search for a nipple. You angled the nipple of the bottle to his lips and allowed him to suckle. He quickly took it into his mouth and started suckling hungrily.
Midoriya watched with wide eyes as the baby in your arms calmed down, his eyes closing as he calmed down. The baby made rhythmic sucking noises, a calming sound that Izuku found rather comforting knowing that your baby was being fed and content. A soft rumble left his chest as he watched the two of you. The green haired baby seemed so content laying in your arms, almost as if it was so natural.
You glanced up and your eyes met each other. A flustered hot feeling went up his neck. He turned immediately to move into sorting out the groceries. He tried not to focus on you, embarrassed at being caught staring at the both of you. He unpacked the water bottles and put them in the fridge.
“So… I was thinking of names.” You spoke softly, not wanting to disturb the baby whose eyes were slowly growing heavier. “For our little green angel over here.”
Midoriya glanced up at you, unable to help the small smile. “Yah?” He asked as he put the other groceries in the fridge.
“Daiki.” You tried as you stared at the baby. You tilted your head. It didn’t fit right to him. Not yet anyways. “Hm... I don’t think it fits him though. Ichiro was another one, but I feel like it’s too generic.”
Midoriya heard you list out names. He trusted your names and suggestions. The entire time of your shopping adventures, you had been putting every item against your child’s skin to ensure that everything would suite him. Every shop, every diaper, every soft blanket, you had focused and thought of the baby. Izuku actually found you rather comforting to be beside.
He couldn’t help the smile on his face before pausing for a moment. A name sprung in his head. A name that little baby Izuku had told himself he would name his own son after. Well in all honesty it was no surprise to anyone that he thought of this name but it was odd that it sprung into his head right now when he hadn’t spoken to All Might all day.
He turned to look at the little baby boy who was now half asleep and half still feeding. “Toshinori.”
“Hm?”
“Oh.” Midoriya perked up realising he had said it outloud. He looked down at the baby blanket he took out of the packaging. The soft mint green cotton was such a stark contrast against his rough scarred hands. “I was just… I was just thinking of a name, but it’s stupid.” He scoffed.
“I want to hear it.” You spoke honestly.
He hesitated but let out a sigh. He walked over to the baby that was feeding in your arms from the plastic bottle. The baby’s eyes were closed, content and happy as he fed from the baby bottle that you were holding. Izuku carefully put the blanket over the baby, tucking him in. As Midoriya did so, you watched him still. His entire body going rigid. His green eyes moved down to the face of the baby.
The baby’s eyes were open tiredly but his small delicate hand was wrapped around Midoriya’s pinky. His tiny fingers unable to even wrap around the entire thing. Midoriya didn’t move as he stared down at the pup in your arms. The tiny little being that stared at him with eyes just like his.
Something engrained in his very soul, his very body, his Alpha, made a rumble stumble out of his chest involuntarily. His blood helped made that. And unknown to Midoriya, he was way too deep in to care.
“Toshinori.” He repeated the word, louder this time. He smiled down at the pup in your arms and then back up to your face. “Lets name him Toshinori, if you don’t mind.”
“Toshinori…” You whispered. “How fitting.”
