Chapter Text

Spamton leaned against one of the display windows in front of the shop and waited for something, anything to happen. The addison couldn’t sleep, his mind kept replaying what had happened right after he talked to Kris.

The second Spamton entered the hospital room after talking with Kris, Cameron whipped around to meet him.  He and Hem were the only ones in the room, Lixir and Laces off somewhere.

“What the fuck was that about Spamton?!” His younger brother yelled, “Can’t have a single goddamn moment about someone else can you? You just have to be the centre of attention! Make Lixir and Laces run off looking for you instead of being with Hem!”

Cameron took a step towards him as Hem said something but he couldn’t make out the words.

Spamton felt brought back to the studio, Tenna screaming at him for the tiniest mistake. Spamton hadn’t even realised the static flooding his vision as his mind kept convincing him it was Tenna yelling at him.

The one voice yelling turned to two, the words melted away into pure noise and anger. Spamton’s breathing quickened and tears began flowing down his face.

A third voice joined in to all the yelling. It was too much. They were all screaming over each other and it hurt the white addison’s head. Tenna must be furious at him.

Tenna’s hand grabbed Spamton’s arm, he tried to pull away but the CRT’s grip was firm as it dragged him away from the noise.

“Ple@SE l3  t m>>E go [10/10],” Spamton pleaded quietly. Tenna let go of his arm but before Spamton could run away, he spoke in a voice that was definitely not Tenna’s.

“Just sit Spam,” Lixir…? said. Spamton obliged and sat on the cold tile floor, back leaned against the wall. Every part of him wanted to run but running was what got him here, “Great now just focus on taking deep breaths for me okay?” Lixir instructed, “Just do what I do.”

Spamton tried to breathe slowly, it was hard at first, it felt like he couldn’t get enough air in his lungs, but eventually he calmed down and the static receded.

He and Lixir continued sitting next to each other in silence for a while until Spamton spoke, “You know I couldn’t see right?” Spamton asked and a ‘hm?’ Was the only answer he got from Lixir, “When my eyes go all static that’s all I can see.”

Laces ducked out into the hallway Spamton and Lixir were in, she looked exhausted as she sat down next to them. The yelling from the other room seemed to finally stop.

“S0rry…” Spamton mumbled.

“It’s fine,” Laces started, then immediately stopped herself, “What am I even saying. No. It’s not fine Spam, what the hell was that about?”

Spamton stumbled over his words for a bit, “I dunno… I [Justification] had to actually do something about Tenna for [Once Upon A Time]. I can’t [Stand Up For Yourself] letting you guys get hurt over and over again because of [I’m The Problem It’s Me].”

“What did you do?”

“I talked to the [Lightbulb]ners,” Spamton fidgeted with anything he could find as he spoke, “Kris is taking [CRT] to another lightners house in… a few days I think because of the [Time Flies] difference.”

Well it had been 4 days now and still no Kris. Spamton sighed exhaling a mouthful of smoke from his second cigarette that night. He knew he probably shouldn’t have smoked again, he knew he had a problem before and he knew he’ll just create the same problem again but Angel above he needed this.

A beam of light coming from the outskirts of Castletown dragged Spamton away from his thoughts. It was finally happening. Tenna will be gone in a few minutes.

Spamton spotted Kris walking past along the main path to the castle. The human waved at him and gave him a thumbs up but Spamton was more concerned with how they moved. Each step looked pained, every movement the lightner made seemed to take more energy than it should, yet despite looking in pain, Kris was moving a lot more naturally than the almost robotic movements they normally made.

Spamton quickly headed inside, back up to his room. He was not dealing with Tenna again. The addison lay down on his soft double bed and slept peacefully for the first time in years.

Tenna watched as Kris dragged him through the town in a wheelbarrow. He got a much better view than last time, the trees swaying in the breeze, the moon and stars shining from above casting a faint light over everything, it was the most beautiful thing Tenna had ever seen.

Kris stopped in front of a small, oddly shaped building. Tenna had only ever seen libraries on TV but he was sure this wasn’t one, it looked more like a house than a library.

Kris was just getting Susie, right?

She probably forgot to go to the library!

Kris began lifting Tenna out of the wheelbarrow.

Maybe it was a change of plans!

They must be doing it at Susie’s house instead.

The human placed Tenna down in front of the house.

They’re just placing me down so Susie can carry me!

Kris wouldn’t abandon me!

Tenna heard Kris’s footsteps slowly fade away.

…Or maybe they would…

The CRT waited hours for Kris to come back, eventually drifting off into an uneasy sleep.

Notes:

Sorry for taking so long to post, my mental health is still not doing great, I’ve almost attempted recently and been self harming a lot more but I’m looking for a psychologist so hopefully I get better. Chapter updates will be very slow but I promise to not give up writing about this au.
