Chapter Text

'Izuku!'

Izuku jumped at the sudden name call, head jerking to the sound of the noise. The voice being painfully familiar.

"Come on izu, you need to wash your wings! they're all dirty, played to hard with 'kacchan' huh?" Inkos voice called from the painfully familiar house.

He blinked, glanced over at his feet, batting at one of his wings, forcing himself up and skittering over to his mother.

"Mom!" he chirped, ears flickering as he clung to her leg, attempting to hide his wings, though he was clearly failing, the evidence being his own wing peeking out.

"Oh izuku, your so dirty!" Inko chuckled, pulling him off her leg, grabbing one of his wings with two fingers and stretching it out. "just look at your wings" She said with slight tease.

Izuku pouted, letting his mother grab his hand as he was dragged into the bathroom, he could hear the faucet behind him turn on, hissing slightly when Inko splashed him with water, which ended with him attempting to also splash her, failing when she did her ultimate move, shifting to the side! How dare she! Doesn't she know his small body can't keep up with her?

He backed up slightly, grimacing at the bathtub, as much as he loved bath time, today felt.. off like, déjà vu? Still, he didn't want to.

Even though he was small, he was fast, so he quickly— and suddenly, leaped away, running through the living room and into the kitchen, giggling as his mother gasped and tried following him, only for Izuku to hide in between a counter and the fridge, a place Inko, could not reach.

"Izukuuu! Why do you do this to me?" She said in a sweet, but tired tone. "Can't you come out for today?"

But izuku was stubborn, he did not want to bath! Why couldn't she get that?

"No!" He huffed, puffing his chest and pinning his ears down, hearing a small sigh come from his mother, Suppose she somehow learned his secret code... pinned ears meant 'nuh uh im angry'

But— to be fair, he wasn't angry; just unwilling to bathe today, Kacchan and maybe even auntie were waiting for him, he couldn't bathe now!

"Don't wanna?" Inko hummed softly, putting her arm through the crack and ruffling his hair. "You gotta izu, you're dirty and it'll make you feel refreshed" She added, making Izuku less tense.

Maybe he could... take a bath, and Kacchan could wait longer? he's sure it would be fine, nothing could happen anyway, its just the bath!

Izuku gave a small nod, giving his wings a flick before shimmying out of the crevice between the fridge and counter.

Once out, His mother extended her hand, in which he took, bravely he must add!

Though when he grabbed, he couldn't help but notice he felt a pain start forming in his teeth, maybe those sweets were coming back at him..

But, weirdly, it didn't feel like a normal tooth ache, it felt like something trying to budge through his teeth, like a small critter stuck behind his teeth, digging through his teeth or trying to rip them out, trying to free itself.

He whimpered slightly, eyes shutting close as he let out a small whine, covering the side of his mouth with more pain, catching his mothers attention.

"Is everything alright, Izu?" Inko asked, glancing down at the whimpering Izuku.

"Teeth.." He huffed, letting go of her hand and grabbing onto her leg, putting his face into her leg, squeezing her leg slightly with his clenched hands. "Started hurting.."

Inko turned over, tilting her head slighty, letting out a small concerned hum. "Your teeth? Whats wrong? food stuck, bleeding?" She asked carefully, gently pulling his hands out from digging into her legs, cupping his face and pulling slightly at his lips, attempting to look into his mouth.

Izuku squeezed his eyes as pain shot through his whole face this time, backing away from her, the pain mainly sprouting from his mouth to his eyes as he felt something force itself out of his gums, tears prickling in his eyes as, on top of the pain, he started forming a major headache.

"Hurts hurts!" He whined, tears carefully rolling down his face, welling in his eyes and dropping like snowflakes, he could taste blood in his mouth as he said this, though it was rather... comforting? instead of scary like blood usually was to him, he couldn't help but lick it up and swallow, he could've sworn blood didn't taste sweet, didn't blood usually taste salty? and iorn like? he definitely tasted blood before this

But before he could wrap his mind around the experience, he suddenly felt all pain stop, except for the now dull headache, it was like time stopped, he opened hid eyes and saw his mother, worry prominent in her soft green eyes.

But all he saw was a lady, a human; with blood running through them.

He leaped onto his mother, wings fluttering to let him fly up to her chest, slamming into her and making her adjust to the sudden weight by falling to the floor.

He could distantly hear the sound of his voice, crying, screaming at him to stop, that— that was his mother, that she was definitely going to get hurt.

But instead, he hit her in the head with his own, making sure her head was on the floor before shoving his palm in her mouth, hard enough that her teeth dug into him already.

He put his mouth down to her throat and bit hard, feeling the blood drip into his mouth, and it felt great, he dug his teeth farther in, ignoring the pain ignite in his hand from his mother biting his hand, her muffled pleas for him to look at her and stop.

But he didn't, he only sucked at her neck, sinking his teeth farther into his own mother as he drank her blood, mind fuzzy as he continued

He didn't stop until he felt the pain in his hand stop. Until he felt the body under him limp. Until the face of his mother was lifeless and paler then usual.

Gone, she was, and he did this, how would kacchan react? how would auntie react? kami he's a monster! the worst child ever!

In the midst of his panicking, he didn't notice the ground become blurry, the walls forming into slop, everything looking wrong or mixed together like paint—

Wait– was someone calling his name?

--

"Izuku! wake up!"

Izukus eyes shot open, his wings curled around him as he gasped, body straight up as he glanced around, thankfully, only seeing kacchan.

'calm down, its just kacchan, our best friend!'

a sweet voice said within his head, Miharu, he noted. 'i know' he thought with a small smile to the worried look on Katsuki's face.

"Are you alright Izuku— its Izuku right?" Katsuki asked, trying his best to hide his worries, but he clearly failed as Izuku could tell he was worried.

And so could Miharu, who's worries for the boy was slightly affecting him.

"Yes its Izuku, and i'm alright just a nightmare" He said softly, forcing himself straight on the dirty mattress.

He could feel the cold floor as he set his feet on the ground, glancing over at Katsuki who was on the mattress next to him, he rubbed his thumb on Katsukis hand before getting up carefully.

'Do you think kacchan made food?' Miharu asked excitedly, though Izuku was unsure, food was getting scarce— especially with winter coming up.

'I'm unsure, maybe?' he thought back, glancing over at the blonde on the bed.

Sure, he could've but it was decently early in the morning, and as much as Katsuki loved cooked, Izuku doubted he would colk for him this early, especially when they ate running low on food.

"Thinking to hard? or you talking with the others?" Katsuki gave a small annoyed glance, but though he would never admit it, Izuku could tell it was filled with fondness

"Maybe both" He responded, messing with his hair slightly, Izuku had to admit, he was so glad Katsuki never left him, he couldn't imagine a world without him, He would probably be dead without the boy!

Sure, Katsuki really only cooked and came on patrols with him, but Izuku was also— well, mentally unwell, and Katsuki was really the only thing keeping him going.

He carefully walked over to the bathroom, trying to avoid some trash on the way over, jumping over a small dent in the floor.

Inside the bathroom, Izuku could see himself, dirty green hair, once bright eyes, his ears slightly pinned down, flicking up when he noticed. Deciding why not, he did a spin, glancing over at his wings in the bathroom, no rips, no nicks, all fine

For now at least, of course he was prone to get at least a couple cuts along his wings.

He opened his mouth, tracing along his fangs, staring at them in the mirror. Who knew he still got those nightmares? He's not a child anymore, they should stop.

'Teenagers still get nightmares!' Miharu huffed inside him, he did a small physical nod, sighing slightly

"I know that but—" he grimaced slightly at his voice, glancing outside the room, in the hallway, looking at Katsuki, who was now walking into the kitchen, getting cut off by the walls.

He couldn't help but feel slightly.. embarrassed? Still getting these nightmares, He wanted a break from this, from interacting or really being awake.

Not in a suicidal way! He didn't want to die, just... not be awake.

Of course he could let Miharu talk with Katsuki, but shes.. Well— a child, And doesn't have much common sense.

Plus, he thinks he and Katsuki have to go on patrol and he won't let Miharu do that, That just feels rude, she wouldn't even understand a single thing.

A brought a finger up to his chest, twirling around, He had to put on his binder, Though Miharu didn't quite like when he wore them on patrols, Same with Katsuki.

He opened a drawer, grabbing out his binder, sliding his shirt over his shoulders, tossing it onto the counter, sliding the binder on afterwards, semi glad he didn't forget to take his bra off before bed.

'You always do that!' Miharu mumbled, making Izuku roll his eyes, grabbing the shirt once again from the counter, huffing at he slid it onto himself, head getting stuck for a second before it went back on.

After washing his face, he left the bathroom, turning into the kitchen and walking over to Katsuki.

"Kacchan!" he perked up, tilting his head as He turned over to Izuku, holding a meat stick in his hand.

"Eat this, nerd, You guys haven't ate yet" He said, shoving the meat stick into Izukus hand, making him giggle slightly.

Taking a bite, he smiled slightly at the blonde. "Thanks, Kacchan"

He tried ignoring the random comments from Miharu as he ate his snack, Sitting on the mattress, grabbing out an old computer from when he and Katsuki were in school, scrolling through the news and hero websites, mostly illegal (Yes he felt bad! but that was the only was he could find eraser head videos!) ones.

But nothing really caught his eye, well, almost every Midnight video caught Miharus eye from the constant 'Midnight!' He would hear from her.

Though, he eventually finished his doom scrolling, closing the computer, ignoring the whines from Miharu as he glanced over at Katsuki. "Are you ready to go?" the spiky blonde asked, head tilted, eyebrow raised.

The green boy nodded, bouncing off the couch.

"Am i ever not?!" Silence filled the room as Katsuki blankly stared. "Yes, all the time"

Izuku gave an annoyed groan, putting his mask on and skipping out the abandoned apartment, the boy following shortly behind, He briefly wondered if he would patrol, or if Kuzu would take his spot.. Kuzu did that often, he usually took control while on patrols, Sometimes Katsuki didn't even realize! Well, Until he called the boy 'Bakugou' or 'Katsuki' instead of Kacchan.

Except today was different, He didn't feel the raven haired boy try to take his spot, of course he felt his presence, but he didn't seem interested tonight

guess it was Izukus turn!

--

Izuku carefully followed behind the blonde Teenager, of course, flying behind the boy as Katsuki jumped across buildings, once in a while using his quirk to boost his distance during jumps.

Though, Izuku would usually bark at him not to do that, of course it was night so heroes like Endeavor or Mirko weren't out, but Underground heros like Eraserhead or— well, other underground heros were!

Yes they've never been caught but its still rather aggravating to avoid the hero. They can escape, especially with them both being skilled in quirkless fights, and quirkless endurance, But the point of it is that if he just didn't use his quirk like that, The pro could have the possibility of not running into the boys!

Don't get Izuku wrong, he doesn't dislike the hero, Eraser is actually his favorite hero of all time! But he's annoying to run away from, especially when the pro literally fights quirkless because of his quirk.

He always admired the pro, actually Izuku was labeled as the 'quirkless vigilante' before kuzu ruined that label by using their quirk.

Speaking of vigilante titles! Both Izuku and Katsuki combined were called the 'Bats' because they both only were out at night, and were often caught by Eraserhead upside down under a bridge or such.

But, then Katsuki started getting called Landmine, and then soon Izuku was just called 'Bats' instead.

"Get your mind out of your thoughts!" The angry blonde groaned, snapping Izuku out of his slight dissociation.

He jumped off a building edge, stopping his free fall with his wings, watching Katsuki stop his own fall with mini explosions.

With his eyes closed, he clicked slightly, ears twitching as he tried sensing any nearby street problems.

Then something caught his attention, something that usually wouldn't, there was a group of boys, all seemingly around Izuku or Katsukis age, middle schoolers.

They seemed like it was just a fight, but he soon could tell someone was off, that it wasn't a fight, it was all directed at one boy, Bullying it was, bullying going too far.

"Hey Kacchan, theres some bullies four alleyways over, care to get them?" He asked, tilting his head to the side as the blonde grinned and ran out.

Izuku always felt uneasy around bullies, He Felt so much around the topic or mention of them he doesn't really know how to think— his mind gets all fuzzy too and sometimes he just.. blinks and it is the next day.

But he forced himself down to earth, glancing at the sky before running down the hallway, catching a bit of speed before jumping up and flying up, flying above the buildings until he spotted the allayway.

Katsuki wasn't there yet; he could hear his explosions somewhere else, probably getting distracted by something 'more' important.

he slid into the hallway, glaring down at the Middle schoolers, there was a black haired one, a grey haired one, one blonde haired and a purple haired boy, the boy caught his attention, he looked.. well, sleep deprived, and like he hated a lot, it painfully reminded him of himself, especially during hard days, he really felt a lot when he saw the boy, which was odd because Izuku didn't usually feel so much to people.

He grabbed a pocket knife from his belt, running over and kicking one if the boys down, startling the others, one of the boys clearly had a animal quirk, as he was raccoon like, he had raccoon tail and sharp teeth, ears like a raccoon too.

The boy, raccoon one, jumped at Izuku. "What do you think you're doing, freak!" Another one of the boys, the blonde one yelled, The blondie seemed to have a scissor like quirk, his fingers sharp like scissors, scratching Izukus cheek, But Izuku easily knocked the boy down by a quick punch to the nose, and kick to the shins to make him fall to the floor, stomping on the boys back, kicking the raccoon one back down.

Though, he wasn't able to get at the grey haired one, that one run off, and soon the raccoon one got up and ran, Maybe he wejt too far but he didn't really mind.

He extended a hand to the purple haired boy, lifting him from the floor, he looked slightly stunned.

"Sorry was that too far?" He asked the boy, the purple boy just staring before shaking his head no. "Uh... Thanks"

Izuku clicked his tongue, smiling. "Of course— uh.." He stared blankly, before the boy grabbed something out of his pocket, writing something down and handing it to him before he running off
