Summary:

Husk laid flat on his back, and Angel followed, almost trance-like as his knees came to rest on either side of his vampire's head. Large hands engulfed his waist and hips, warm puffs of breath against the insides of his thighs. Angel's eyes fluttered at the sight of Husk below him, seemingly just as affected. Just as aroused. Then that mouth filled with sinful, vicious teeth carefully pressed a kiss to the swell of his center.

Tears still fresh on his cheeks, Angel released a ragged moan, full of relief and pleasure.

He did need this. He loved Husk. He was positive. He wanted to be Husk's thrall, wanted to be with him, wanted no one else to have him. Cherri had been wrong about that.

So why didn't he want to be Turned?

In a world where vampires are known predators, Angel meets one that changes his life for a third time. But is Cherri right? Is this too much for him?

*Previous title: Tongue Like Candy
(From the author: fair warning, the first three chapters are almost just pure smut, but there is plot on the way, promise.)

Notes:

Pretty sure Husk is demiromantic, demisexual, or both, but the good thing about fanfiction is that I can take MASSIVE liberties. (No pun intended - you’ll see.)

*Please drink and/or do drugs and/or have sex responsibly.

Disclaimer: I’m not trans, nor do I have any trans friends, so I’m not totally sure if I’m writing this correctly. I did wanna try it out, though. If anything is offensive, please let me know immediately (and kindly) so I can fix it!

Chapter Text

Angel’s head tipped back, the saccharine drink sliding down his throat with ease. The taste of tequila wasn’t even there. Smiling, he grabbed the other glass and downed it, too. What was that flavor, anyway? Strawberry, or mango, or—fuck, he was too drunk.

“C’mon,” Cherri screamed over the pounding club music. “Let’s go dance!”

“Alright, alright!” he yelled back, stumbling behind her. They’d both had at least four drinks each, and he was beginning to think stilettos had been a bad idea. Shoulda wore his chunky heels instead.

In a sea of bodies, Angel couldn’t tell who was touching him. Not that he really cared. It felt so good to be a part of the crowd, all dancing to the same song, all laughing at the same time. He was hot, and the music was rattling his bones, and the drinks were turning his brain to mush. It was just the night out he needed.

It was two a.m. when the club began to wind down into something slower, preparing to close. Angel and Cherri laughed without a care in the world as the bouncer scooted them out. He wasn’t sure if the burly guy was pissed at them or just in general, but his sour face made Angel wanna double over.

As they stepped—stumbled, really—outside, the bouncer said something to Cherri, who had stopped at four drinks versus his eight. Good thing, because Angel couldn’t hear a fuckin’ thing he was saying. His vision wobbled between bouts of clarity and that weird after-image thing as he reached into his clutch and pulled out a menthol cigarette. “Cherri,” he slurred loudly, grinning while he held up the cancer stick. “Gonna be over there.” He pointed to the alley a few feet away from the door.

Cherri waved him off, still speaking to the bouncer with the RBF. Angel nodded to himself too many times, and it took an extra long time to make his way to the corner where the alley started.

Angel pulled out his cheap plastic lighter as he leaned against the concrete wall, which was supposed to be cold, but he couldn’t feel a damn thing. He giggled at the lack of sensation and stuck the cigarette between his teeth, then pressed his thumb to the metal gear thingy to strike it.

A spark. No flame.

“Ah, fuck, c’mon,” he mumbled, pressing harder, shaking the lighter. No dice. He let out a suffering groan. Man, cigarettes were always better when he was drunk. This fucking sucked.

“Need some help, doll?”

Angel jumped what felt like three feet in the air, his heart joining him, and the lighter clattered to the pavement. His head whipped to the right where the voice had come from. Some distance away, impenetrable darkness cloaked the alley, hiding even the dumpsters he knew were supposed to be there from sight. Suddenly, he felt like he was being watched.

A drop of glacial fear made him sober briefly, though he still felt hazy and unfocused.

And a pair of golden eyes opened to shine at him through the black.

Fuck.

Fuck, he was dumb.

He was gonna fucking die.

He was gonna die because he wanted a fucking drunk cigarette.

Why the fuck had he gone to the alley alone?

The molten, supernatural eyes drew closer. No footsteps accompanied the closing distance, and that was somehow more off-putting than the fact that a vampire was prowling toward him. Angel’s breath stopped all at once, cold sweat rolling down the dip in his lower spine. But his heart raced on, and he cursed it for its betrayal.

The creature finally stepped out of the shadows.

And it…wasn’t what he expected.

He’d never seen a vampire in person before. But the television hadn’t prepared him for the otherworldly beauty.

He was on the shorter side, a few inches from Angel’s natural height. Neat black locks were tied away from his angular, symmetrical face, jaw dusted lightly with a teasing of facial hair. Ebony flesh boasted no blemishes, smoother than his own ten-step Korean-routined skin. Maybe being undead gave you perfect looks. Great taste too, because he was donned in a three piece suit, covered head to toe in black on devastating black. And beneath thick eyebrows were those bright eyes. If Angel wasn’t drunk, he could’ve sworn they swirled.

The vampire raised an eyebrow. “Need a light?”

Even his voice was smooth—alluring, smoky, and somehow warm? Like that feeling when you drank whiskey and it burned in your chest.

Angel inhaled quietly. The cigarette was still in his mouth, trembling between his half-parted lips. Maybe if he made himself as weak looking as possible, the predator would lose interest. No, that didn’t fucking make sense. If this thing was a predator, that made him prey, and predators ate prey.

So Angel stood a little straighter, plucked his cig from his mouth, put on his bravest, cuntiest persona, and said, “Fuck off.”

Mild surprise flitted across the vampire’s face. “Pardon?”

Fancy talk. Guy must be old as fuck. “Fuck. Off.”

Honestly, with how drunk and scared he was, he was shocked he could even manage to get that out.

“If you’re concerned about a vampire being near you,” the man murmured, a slow-sprawling devilish smirk taking up his expression, “don’t sweat it. I already ate.”

Angel’s eyes fell to his full mouth, swallowing dryly at the sight of gleaming fangs. Was that saliva or venom? “Ain’t your kind scared of fire?”

His smirk tinged with something close to amusement. “Only in large quantities.” He reached in his pocket and pulled out an expensive looking Zippo, flicked the lid open and struck the flame alive. Angel remained as still as possible, feeling like a goddamn deer in headlights as the vampire approached—still silent, fucking weird—and held it up a foot from Angel’s face.

Cautiously, he placed the cigarette back on his lips and leaned forward, sucking the filter until the menthol smoke filled his mouth. The poison curled in his lungs, then blew in a short, straight stream as he released a breath. “Thanks,” he muttered, completely bewildered.

All vampires weren’t this tame, were they?

The Zippo clinked shut and disappeared to its original home. “Sure. Have a good night, doll.”

As the guy turned back to the shadows, Angel couldn’t help but blurt, “The fuck’s wrong with you?”

The vampire glanced over his shoulder, eyes glittering. “Sorry?”

“I mean…you didn’t…bite me…” Angel gulped, a shiver wracking his body unexpectedly. “And you’re super polite…which is freaky… I’m just…confused.”

He laughed, soft and low and rumbling, and Angel felt himself grow weak in the knees. But it was all part of the vampire seduction—the looks, the voice, the danger. He knew that. And he hated that it was working. “Like I said. I already ate.”

Then he spoke again, but this time…his voice was laced with something wicked.

“But if you wanna be my next meal, let me know.”

Angel flushed and froze at the same time. “Ha-ha. Yeah. Sure.”

Another laugh, and the man disappeared into the darkness.

Angel braced his hands on his knees and sucked down a clean breath of air—well, as clean as city air could be. The cigarette fell from his fingers, but he couldn’t find it in him to care.

He’d just met a fucking vampire.

And lived.

ONE WEEK LATER

“Can’t believe I’m fuckin’ doin’ this,” Angel muttered to himself, scowling at the pavement beneath his feet. “This is fuckin’ crazy.”

The club came into view, its pink neon lights illuminating the sidewalk. On a Friday night, there was a line to the door, but Angel wasn’t concerned with getting inside—not yet, at least. Instead, he stalked to the corner of the building where he’d been last week and peered down the alley.

It was relatively early, only ten, and the moon was out tonight, too. So either he’d been really drunk, or the too-black shadows from a few days ago had all but vanished. Two green dumpsters sat flush against the concrete wall of the club to the right of the back door that read Employees Only. And that was the end of it. The building next to the club was a restaurant, some kind of fancy dig that required reservations and a dress code. Way too upscale for the part of the city he was in, but the people around here ate it up for some reason. Their back door was just a few feet down from the club’s.

Angel chewed on the inside of his cheek as he carefully stepped farther into the alleyway, pebbles crunching under his black platform boots. “Hello?” he whispered, then cringed at himself. This was so fucking stupid. “Um…vampire guy?”

He plugged his nose as he approached the dumpsters, but there was nobody around them. Goddammit, he just needed to—

Angel flinched and ducked behind the dumpster as the back door to the restaurant slammed open. A guy in a white apron stomped out, muttering something vile from the sound of his voice. Behind him, the sounds of a busy kitchen floated past. The man propped the door open with a cinder block and proceeded to pull out a pack of smokes, lighting one up a few feet away from the door.

He blew out a soft sigh, rolling his eyes. He didn’t know why he was being so jittery. Well. Never mind. That was a lie. It was because whatever magic vampire shit that guy had pulled on him before hadn’t worn off. Wet dreams had persisted in him every night; it was getting annoying. And it was impeding his job, too (not that retail was that important…). And he was about to confront the fuckin’ bloodsucker who’d done it to him.

Wait—wait. Hadn’t he been dressed in that over-the-top outfit the other night? Black on black. Mouthwatering…

Angel squeezed his eyes shut to clear his head. Focus. The vampire probably hung out at a place like that restaurant. He just needed to get in.

He waited impatiently for the employee to finish his cigarette, then darted forward when he finally stubbed it out and lumbered back inside. Angel caught the door just before it closed. He slipped inside, counting his lucky stars that nobody noticed him as he tiptoed his way out of the dish pit, past the prep area, and the line. Fuck, he was glad he’d worked in a restaurant before.

Just as he dashed out of the kitchen and into the expo line, someone finally noticed him.

“Hey! ‘Scuse me, you’re not supposed to be back here!”

He winced, paused just before the area that opened into the dining room. He turned around and plastered a sheepish smile on his face. “Sorry,” he squeaked at the server who was donned in a clean, pressed uniform. “I was looking for the bath—restroom.”

The server, a foot and a half shorter than him, had the audacity to look down her nose at him as she inspected his outfit. Yeah, he kinda looked like a hooker—tight black boots, sheer black stockings, and an off-shoulder long sleeved rouge dress that barely covered his ass. In his defense, he’d expected to go to the club to look for his vampire. And, in all honesty, he’d dressed down. “Mm-hmm. Who was your reservation with?”

Angel’s eyes widened a fraction. Fuck.

Okay. Fine. Time to be a Karen.

“Excuse me?” he hissed, a fake, chastising scowl on his face. “I wanted to touch up my makeup. I was not looking for an interrogation. How dare you talk to me like that?”

The server hesitated. “I was just—“

I was just,” he mocked. “Yeah, I don’t really care what excuse you have. Show me to the restroom, or I’ll have to ask for a manager.”

She pressed her lips together, obviously displeased with his reaction. Other people were starting to stare, too. And she must’ve decided he wasn’t worth the effort, because she pointed to the back of the restaurant. “You’ll find them to the left of the bar.”

Angel sneered for good measure. “Thank you.”

He walked off, relief coursing through him. Crisis averted. For now.

As he passed through the dining area, he kind of understood why this place required reservations and dress codes. He’d never seen “fine dining” in real life, but he imagined this is what it might look like—something between Titanic luxury and Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen. He felt wildly out of place.

Still, he managed to remain mostly unnoticed while he inspected each face he could see. Nobody held a candle to his mystery vampire. Obviously. Humans would never compare to a supernatural creature, not even the models.

Disappointment flowed heavily as he reached the front, near the U-shaped bar and restrooms. Maybe vampires just dressed to the nines because they felt like it. He’d been wrong. If he didn’t get out of here soon, that server or someone else would notice he didn’t belong and throw him out. And he kinda wanted to keep a little bit of dignity in front of all these high-class assholes, no matter how dumb that sounded.

Eyes glued to the floor, Angel picked up the pace to the restroom. He’d at least use the facilities while he was here. What other chance would he get?

At his back, someone whistled in a low tone.

Angel straightened, something strange tingling under his skin.

When he turned, he saw him. His unworldly vampire.

He stood behind the bar, cleaning a delicately carved crystal glass with a white towel. So—he was a bartender? That was so…normal.

Aureate eyes observed him with something he couldn’t quite discern. Interest? Or something more intense? Once again, he was dressed extravagantly, this time only clad in a delicious mahogany silk shirt stretched over thick muscles, sleeves rolled to his elbows, a tie looped around his throat, and a simple leather watch clasped around his wrist.

“The doll,” he purred. “Nice to see you.”

Angel blinked rapidly, taking him in with sober eyes. He was more arresting than he recalled. “U-Um. Hi.”

He smiled, though those fangs he couldn’t forget were absent. Angel’s eyebrows scrunched at that. “Are you here for dessert? I bet you taste like candy.”

Angel gulped. “No. You—you did something to me,” he accused, eventually finding his footing to glare.

“Pardon? What did I do?”

He pursed his lips, ready to speak, but closed them right back. Was he playing dumb? “You—the—the dreams. You know.”

The man shook his head, clearly amused. And it was starting to irritate Angel. “I don’t know. Whatever dreams you’re having ain’t my business.”

Angel stomped forward and stopped just behind a barstool, cocking his hips, arms braced on them. The vamp raised an eyebrow, but Angel didn’t back down, simmering annoyance replacing fear. “The other night, you put some kind of magic on me. I want you to take it off.”

The man dragged his eyes down Angel’s body as he slowly set the towel and glass down, fingering the edge, and it was all he could do not to shiver. Though he couldn’t avoid the blush. “You sure about that?” he drawled, eyes flicking back up to meet Angel’s. “‘Cause it smells like you kinda enjoy being around me.”

Angel stiffened, blush deepening. “‘Cause of your stupid magic thingy!”

“Nope. Don’t get me wrong, you’re as pretty as porcelain, but I didn’t do shit to ya.”

“And why should I believe a vampire?” Angel narrowed his eyes, a finger tapping against his hipbone.

“You shouldn’t,” he replied, his smile growing sharp. “But I’m telling the truth.”

Angel frowned. “That makes no sense.”

The man paused for a second, considering something. “What’s your name, kid?”

He bristled. “Angel Dust. And I don’t appreciate being called a kid.”

“Hm. Strange name.”

“I don’t give anyone my real name.”

“Smart,” he complimented, turning his back to slice a lime or something. “Have a good night, Angel.”

He balked, jaw hanging open incredulously. “Hey, fucker! I wasn’t done talkin’ to you!” Angel jumped onto the stool, not caring if it made him look stupid that he was on his knees in the seat, and gnashed his teeth as he vied for eye contact. “Take off your magical dream stuff right now.”

The undead man sighed and glanced over his shoulder, eyes visibly dimmed, calmed from liquid gold to a soft, earthy brown. Angel was struck nearly breathless. He looked human. Really human. “I told ya, I didn’t do anything. I can’t. Vampires don’t have magic. And keep your fuckin’ voice down. If I get fired and outed, it’s your ass.”

Had he been yelling? Angel’s eyes darted around the room, catching a few lingering eyes that shone with disapproval. He avoided the urge to flip them off.

Wait—vampires don’t have magic? Then…that meant…

Oh, fuck.

Angel floundered for a second, entirely dumbstruck. And wildly embarrassed. He’d been having sex dreams about a vampire who’d done absolutely nothing funny or magical to him. He’d fallen for a fucking smile full of razor sharp teeth.

“Satisfied now?” he muttered as he braced his corded arms against the bar top. Angel gaped like a fish. “Can ya leave me alone?”

“What’s with the sudden mood change?” Angel snipped, annoyed again. When in doubt, lash out. “You seemed so interested in me before.”

“Did it ever occur to you that I don’t like being accused of shit I’m innocent of?” His voice almost seemed normal, but Angel could pick out the layer of anger beneath. “I just wanna have a normal fucking day without humans constantly staring at me like I’m gonna rip throats out any second.”

“Do I look like that?” Angel couldn’t help but ask.

The vampire smiled, though it looked more like he bared his teeth. There was no amusement behind it. “Remember the other night? You’re no exception, doll.”

Angel fell silent as he stood from the chair, chewing on the inside of his cheek. He…kinda felt bad. He didn’t think vampires cared about prejudice. And to top it off, this one was a black man—who knew how old he was or what he lived through. And he was being a hypocrite—he was fucking trans. Angel dug some cash out of his clutch and laid it on the countertop. It was all he had, aside from lip gloss and cigarettes.

“Sorry,” he muttered, avoiding the questioning gaze, “for being rude.”

He turned on his heel, intending to leave. Then his knees locked, and he was frozen. He should’ve left it alone. He should’ve kept going straight toward the front door and put all this weird shit behind him. But his mouth blurted another stupid thing.

“Just in case we meet again…what’s your name?”

He looked over his shoulder, meeting brown eyes that were just beginning to glow again with that same intensity as when he first saw them.

“Husker,” he said. “But I prefer Husk.”

Angel flashed his sultriest smirk. “Later, Husk.”

TWO WEEKS LATER

Angel glanced around anxiously as they waited in line. There was a new bouncer, and he was strict, which was really getting on Cherri’s nerves. But Angel was more concerned about whether he’d see his vampire lurking nearby.

He really shouldn’t have been worried about it. It was a bad idea to get involved with a bloodsucker. Besides the obvious reasons, Angel was on a journey of self discovery. Celibacy (going six months strong—ugh), cutting back on drugs (but not drinking, because who the fuck would give up two vices in today’s climate?), new hobbies (so far he’d picked up crocheting—which was expensive as fuck—and journaling). He thought he was doing pretty good.

But getting close to a sexy vampire? He might give up all his progress for a taste.

Still, his eyes darted to every dark corner he could see.

And he came up empty.

Trying not to pout, Angel followed behind Cherri as the bouncer finally let them through, though Cherri mumbled something offensive under her breath. He figured he might as well enjoy himself while he was here. This place was pretty good as far as clubs went. He could drink cheap liquor, dance with Cherri and random strangers, and pretend to listen to music that pounded through the floor beneath his shoes.

Even as he tried to focus, his gaze still searched for Husk. God damn, even the thought of his voice made him feel tingly. He'd imagined saying it a million times by now. Breathing it into the crook of his neck, moaning it into a pillow. Crying it out with his head thrown back as Husk curled his fingers deeper.

"Dude, are you okay?" Cherri asked, frowning at him. They were in the middle of the dance floor. Not an ideal place for Angel to think about fucking a vampire.

"Imma get a drink," he yelled back, digging his cash out of the pocket of his shorts.

"Get me a Jaegerbomb!"

Angel made a disgusted noise as he shoved his way through bodies on the way to the bar. Somebody grabbed his ass, but he didn't pay it any attention. It wasn't Husk. Somehow, he'd know if it was.

Those hands would definitely be larger. Firmer. Hot.

He shivered as he approached the bar. He had to stop thinking about it. And the best way to forget something? That's right, alcohol.

Angel called his order to the young bartender, and she nodded and got started as he slapped a bill on the counter. It was immediately soaked in unknown fluids. A minute later, four shots were set in front of him. One Jaegerbomb and three of straight tequila. Fuck, he hated straight liquor—but it was the quickest solution. He knocked them all back and took the last glass to Cherri, luckily never spilling it.

She threw it back, too, and set the empty cup on a random table a few feet away. Thirty minutes. Thirty short minutes and he'd be tipsy enough to enjoy himself properly. He'd be able to put Husk out of his mind.

Only, that didn't happen.

The alcohol had betrayed him. It only amplified every filthy thought he'd had about his vampire, and when a sensual song began playing, encouraging grinding amongst the crowd, Angel had to leave.

He wanted to say he didn't want to break his celibacy vow (it was experimental anyway). But the truth was, he didn't want anyone but Husk to touch him.

"Goin' to the bathroom," he said, hoping Cherri could hear him. She was a little preoccupied with a tall, skinny guy who looked like he didn't want to be here.

He left without an answer, but he did make it to the bathroom, where the few guys in there barely glanced at him. He immediately disappeared into a stall, ignoring every disgusting smear of filth, and locked the door, back pressed against it.

He wondered if Husk would be willing to take him in a men's dirty bathroom stall. Maybe he'd pin Angel's hips against the door with his own. Well, he was a little too short for that. But maybe he'd kneel on the floor, uncaring of his fancy slacks, and yank down Angel's shorts. Would his fangs be out? Angel shuddered, eyes shut tightly as he imagined it. Being ate out by a vampire. Danger right as his most vulnerable place.

Angel bit the inside of his cheek as one of his hands trailed down, unbuttoning his shorts and sliding them down, just enough for his fingers to tease around his clit.

He saw Husk's eyes in his mind, whirlpools of power and gold, as they stared up from between his thighs.

His pussy clenched around nothing, wanting to be filled.

He hadn't been this turned on in months. Not since before he'd met Husk. He missed it. His celibacy journey included no masturbation—guess that was fucked now.

Angel's fingers slipped lower, circling his hole, weeping with desire. And then he sunk his middle finger inside. A small spark of pleasure made him press deeper, mouth falling open to gasp. But it wasn't enough. He knew immediately it wouldn't be enough. He needed a body. Husk's body. And he couldn't stay in the bathroom for too long—he'd be caught in no time. Way before he could cum, at least.

His hand stopped as disappointment filtered through him. He'd just have to get more drunk. It was that or go home, and he didn't really wanna do that.

Or...maybe he could find someone who looked like Husk. Maybe that would be enough.

Angel tugged his shorts back in place and left to the sink, rolling his eyes when no soap came out of the dispenser. He settled for rinsing his hands. When he returned to the dance floor, Cherri was grinning fiercely at the same guy who looked a little horrified. Must be her arson story.

He looked around the room, searching, searching... And coming up empty. Everyone was too tall, too short, too...human. He let out a frustrated sound as he made his way back to the bar and asked for three more shots. That should do it. Make him feel better, make him forget for a little bit, something.

His eyes flitted to the door. He could sneak over to the restaurant. But there was no guarantee Husk would be working...

"Hey, baby," someone behind him said.

Angel turned. There was a young guy, olive-skinned, and a charming smile that fell slightly when he saw Angel's irritated expression. "Fuck off," he snarked back. The bartender placed his drinks before him and he tossed a bill on the counter as he threw them all back, one after the other.

"Sorry," the stranger replied. "I just think you're really pretty. I was wondering if you wanna dance?"

Angel paused to consider. This person wasn't Husk—but he was better looking than anybody else he'd looked at. And maybe he did just need a good lay. Yeah, he was just pent up.

"I'm trans," he told him. "That cool?"

The man nodded.

Angel jerked his chin toward the door, because fuck that nasty-ass bathroom. "Wanna go outside instead?"

Maybe he was super, ultra fucked up for bringing this rando—his name was Guillermo—to the alley where he'd met Husk. And yeah, maybe it was some weird revenge thing about Husk. For making Angel feel like this for, what was it, going on a month now? Whatever. He'd deal with that later. For now, Guillermo was kissing his neck and groping his ass well enough for him to regain his arousal from earlier.

Against the concrete wall of the restaurant, opposite the dumpsters, Guillermo tugged Angel's shorts down and began roughly and clumsily stroking him. Angel rolled his eyes. Either this guy was a virgin, or he hated pussy. Angel put up with it, though. He just needed to focus and get off. He was just drunk enough to accomplish it, too. So he faked his soft moans and breathy curses, raising one leg to wrap around Guillermo's waist as his own hand caressed the average dick soon to be inside him.

"Condom?" Angel asked a few moments later, pairing it with a slinky smile.

Guillermo jerked back, blinking up at Angel. "Fuck—no."

"What?" he hissed. "You fucking kidding me?" He shoved the man away and bent to pick up his shorts off the ground. "What kind of person goes to the club without a fucking condom?"

Guillermo's mouth flopped like a fish before outrage filled his eyes. "Well, what about you, bitch?"

"Do you see me carrying a fuckin' purse?" he snapped as he buttoned his shorts again. "Fuck off, asshole!"

"Fuck you, bitch," the guy barked, and Angel mocked his words. They all said the same thing when he rejected them. Fucking Christ. He finally stalked off, and Angel let out a scream of exasperation, his voice echoing lonely in the empty space. He wanted to pull his hair out. He needed a cigarette—or, honestly, a bump—but he hadn't brought his purse, as he said a second ago. All he had was his last twenty and his phone in his pockets.

"Well, that was interesting."

Angel gasped and whirled his head to the left where golden eyes gleamed at him from the shadows. Arousal and embarrassment swirled potently within him, and a burning blush made a home in his cheeks. "Husk," Angel rasped, unable to utter anything else.

He stepped forward slightly, allowing the dim light from the back doors to illuminate him. As always, he was dressed to the nines, this time with a bowtie at his neck. Angel wanted to undo it. "I just came out for a smoke," he explained, his face blank. "Didn't expect a show."

Angel swallowed and crossed his arms over his stomach to hide the tremble in his fingers. His heart raced; he was sure Husk could hear. But there was nothing he could do about it. "Sorry," he finally choked out. "I thought we were alone."

Husk's eyes dropped to the ground as he rooted for his cigarettes and lighter, that Zippo. "You didn't seem very excited about it."

"Uh—w-what?"

The cig lit, its cherry glowing. Angel could smell the robust tobacco from where he stood six feet away. "Having sex with that kid."

Angel couldn't help but wrinkle his nose. "Don't call him that. It makes me sound like I diddle."

Husk huffed a short laugh. "All you humans seem like kids to me."

"Do I?" He brought one hand up to cup the left side of his neck, the other hand falling to his hip as he leaned on one leg for support. Before he left Val, he'd always wanted him in this pose for pictures. "Seem like a kid?"

Another laugh. "Sometimes."

Angel scowled and dropped the pose, arms crossing again as he leaned against the wall, staring down at his scuffed boots. "Fuck you. I don't need to be humiliated any more tonight, alright? All I fuckin' wanted was to get off. That's all. Why the fuck is that so hard to do?"

And it's all your fuckin' fault, he thought, hoping the vampire could feel the sudden, seething hatred in his words.

Was it the vampire aspect that was attractive? Or was it Husk as a person? Who he knew nothing about... Or was he just that fuckin' pathetically horny?

A few beats of silence passed, and Angel was almost sure Husk had disappeared. But then he said something that stole his breath.

"Restaurant closes at two. Come see me then."

Angel whipped his head over, mouth flopped open, eyes wide.

Husk only offered a soft, toothless smirk as he flicked his cigarette away. Angel's eyes tracked his movements toward the restaurant door; his words as he opened the door to leave were teasing. "Later, Angel."

Cherri ended up leaving with the tall guy (of course after sharing her location with Angel), and he promised to see her at home later. Which meant Angel was on his own as he waited in the alley once more, smiling awkwardly at the other employees who left one after the other. Not that he minded. He didn't really want an audience for...whatever the hell was about to happen. Husk hadn't said they were gonna do anything. He'd alluded to it, sure, but that didn't really mean anything. Especially not to a cryptic vampire. But was he really cryptic? No, he seemed more playful than anything...which was kinda weird to think about... So, were they gonna fuck, or were they just gonna hang out, or was he gonna be a human Capri Sun beside a dumpster? He kinda didn't care which it was. God, he was so mentally fucked.

At two-fifteen, Angel's eyes lifted from his phone to see Husk push the back door open, a cigarette between his teeth as he raised the lighter to his mouth, hands cupped to keep the wind off it. It was unusually chilly for a summer night. Angel wished he'd worn anything but shorts. For multiple reasons.

Husk glanced up after the cig flared to life. Angel inhaled sharply at the flutter of nerves in his stomach. His bowtie was undone, as well as the first two buttons of his black shirt, revealing smooth planes of ebony skin.

Fuck, he should've had another drink before walking out here.

"Hey," Angel breathed first, heart in his throat.

He hated that he was nervous. He was never nervous.

Husk walked forward, stopping a foot away—so fuckin' close—and handed him the red pack of Marlboros. Angel grabbed it and pulled his own cigarette, then leaned into the newly stricken flame. As the harsh taste of the smoke filled his mouth, Angel allowed his eyes to linger near Husk's collar, up his neck, along his jaw. He didn't really know what to say, so the fucking stupid thing that came out was, "How was work?"

Brown eyes flicked to Angel, and he watched them in real time as they swirled into gold. A feral smile followed, edged with those fangs he missed and irritation. "Shitty. How was your night?"

Angel sucked in another poisonous breath and blew it out in a stream. "Shitty," he muttered. "Til now."

Husk raised an eyebrow, and Angel blushed, averting his eyes. Man, fuck this fucking vampire and his sexy expressions. This was ridiculous. "Come on," he said, leaving Angel's soft words alone. "Let's go."

His heart jumped again, backflipping in his chest while he followed behind Husk out to the far end of the parking lot. They approached a black car, obviously old, but Angel had no clue what year or model it was. It looked brand new, though. "How old are you?" he blurted.

Husk only glanced at him as he pulled out his keys and tossed his cigarette away. Angel did the same. "Dunno. Stopped counting after a hundred."

A hundred. Holy unholy fuck. He looked mid thirties or forties. No wonder Angel, at his ripe age of twenty-two, looked like a kid to him. "Oh."

Husk opened the passenger door and Angel nearly smiled. "Get in."

Even though he obeyed, sliding onto the black leather seats, he still asked, "Where are we going?"

The door shut, and Husk walked around to sit in the driver's seat. The car cranked with a growl, the rumble of the engine traveling straight into Angel's legs. "I'm takin' you home. Where do you live?"

Angel hesitated. Was this a good idea? Letting a vampire know where he slept? He didn't wanna be prejudiced anymore, but he needed to be realistic. "Why don't we just go to a motel or something?" he asked, his phone burning a hole in his back pocket. He needed to send his location to Cherri. Shoulda done it earlier. Fucking hell.

His vampire grinned, fangs glinting in the street lights, golden eyes glowing. "Don't tell me you're scared now?"

The rasp of Husk's voice shot straight to his pussy, and he couldn't help the shiver in his bones. "I shoulda gotten drunker," he breathed, then gave Husk his address. He hoped this wasn't his last night on Earth.

The twenty-minute drive was silent yet charged with energy, Angel's eyes glued to the way Husk's arm looked shifting the gears. If they fucked tonight, Angel would be ruined. He knew it instinctively. And he was so goddamn ready for it.

They pulled up to the complex, and Husk cut the engine. Angel's ears were close to ringing. He watched as Husk walked around to his door, opened it, and held out his hand for him to grasp. Angel's heart thudded extra hard as he realized this would be the first time they touched. His fingers trembled, but he still slid them into his vampire's waiting palm, expecting something cold, but being met with solid warmth that trickled into him. Angel was at a complete loss for words as Husk led him to his apartment door (2B, he'd mumbled in a daze).

Angel tugged out his singular key from his pocket and unlocked the door. He finally found the will to speak as it opened, the faint smell of weed from days ago still lingering. "Do you wanna come in?" he asked, figuring it was polite to ask.

Husk smirked and grasped Angel's hand once more, raising it to his lips. Angel froze, desire coursing through him like a raging river. That was the hand he'd used to masturbate in the bathroom. And Husk could absolutely fuckin' tell, if the flare of his nostrils was any indicator.

"No. Have a good night, Angel."

It was like cold water had been dumped over his head. He stood there, dumbfounded, as Husk turned and began to leave.

"'Scuse me?!" he barked. "The fuck do you mean, no?!"

Husk paused and looked over his shoulder, fangs flashing. "It's three hours 'til sunrise. Not enough time for me to do what I want. I'll find ya later, doll."

Angel screamed his frustration out on his favorite dildo that night. It still wasn't enough.

TWO WEEKS LATER

He pulled his hood over his head, glaring up at the sky that released buckets of humid rain. Of course it would on the one day he didn't have enough money left for a cab. Already, his hair was clinging to the back of his neck. He felt sticky and gross, and after dealing with retail customers for twelve hours—psychological torture, honestly—he needed a shower and a fat blunt.

Just as he was about to step out into the shitty weather, his gaze clung to the sight of a familiar black car. And a familiar body leaning against it. Maybe he was hallucinating. He had stayed up all night with Cherri to binge their favorite show's newest season. He could totally be imagining gold eyes and dark skin he hadn't seen in two weeks—which he was pretty salty about. Not only had he been too busy, the fuckin' vampire asshole had been the one to say he'd find him later. He wasn't that desperate to go and look for Husk (he kinda was).

Angel stood still, wondering if he was hyperventilating as Husk walked toward him, shielded from the rain with an umbrella. He stopped a few feet away, a hand in his pocket, face slightly sullen. It was kinda weird seeing him without that usual smirk. "Hey, doll," he murmured. "Need a ride?"

Fuck, he wished he'd cared more about his appearance today. Compared to Husk's button-down and slacks, he looked like a goddamn hobo in his oversized hoodie and cargo pants. "Yeah," he finally said, "thanks."

In the car, and fully (unfortunately) sober, Angel finally had the disposition to ask questions that had been burning in the back of his mind since he'd first seen Husk. "So...what's it like? Being a vampire."

Husk looked over to him, an eyebrow raised. "What do you mean, exactly?"

Angel searched for the words. "Well, y'know...do the...fangs...get in the way?"

"Of what?" Husk chuckled as he shifted smoothly from one gear to the next.

"Havin' sex. Talking. I know they're used for drinkin' blood and stuff, but like, do they get annoying sometimes?"

"No, Angel. They don't."

He breathed through the butterflies at the sound of his name.

"And what about garlic? Is that one true? Silver, wooden stakes?" He already knew sunlight and fire were true.

Husk frowned slightly at him as he down-shifted, turning down the street that led to his apartment. "You ain't plannin' anything, are ya?"

Angel laughed. "No. I was just curious. Besides, I think it's pretty clear what I want."

"And what is that?"

"Not to kill you. Not like I could stand a chance, anyway. You know where I live and where I work."

"What you smell like," Husk added, eyes darting to his hands clasped in his lap.

Angel blushed and tucked them between his thighs. "Right. Right. You could kill me way before I could get to you." The car pulled to a gentle stop on the side of the street and the engine cut off. "So—just to be clear—we don't plan on killing each other."

Husk turned his body fully toward Angel and blew out a sigh through his nose, lips curling as gold dimmed to brown, so achingly soft and human-looking that Angel wanted to swoon. "No. We don't. I promise not to bite."

Angel's eyes barely had the strength to look away from that dangerous mouth and back up to that loamy gaze. "And I promise not to buy garlic, silver, wood, a new lighter, or an ultra bright lightbulb."

Husk threw his head back as he laughed, loud, and Angel grinned widely. "Come on, doll," he said after he sobered slightly, "let's get you inside."

Butterflies erupted again, and he waited impatiently for Husk to open his door and offer his hand like he did the other night. His skin positively tingled as they touched, and he couldn't stop the giddy feeling as they ascended the stairs to his door.

"Wait," Angel blurted, fingers wrapped around the knob. "Can you—well, first of all. Are you staying this time?"

Husk's gaze was molten, back to its golden hue. Did he control it, or was it just based on his feelings? That would be so inconvenient. "Do you want me to?" he murmured.

Angel swallowed dryly. "Cool. Can you wait out here for a minute?"

Husk nodded, and Angel slipped inside, heading straight for Cherri's room.

"Hey," he hissed, trying to keep his voice down. He didn't know for sure if vamps had super hearing, but he didn't wanna risk it.

Cherri looked up from her bed where she lay on her stomach, phone in her hand. "What?"

"I need you to go. I got company."

Understanding dawned on her face and she hopped up. "Sure, yeah. I gotta meet someone, anyway. Need me to take the fire escape?"

"Jesus, no." If Husk heard or saw her crawling out of the window, he'd die of mortification. "Just...don't say anything when you see him, because I already know."

She gave him a weird look in the middle of her packing a small backpack, but she didn't comment. He hadn't told her about Husk and his...condition. Angel followed her out into the living room, grateful she'd cleaned today like she said she would.

When she yanked the door open, Husk was propped against the railing, hands in his pockets. Cherri stopped short at the sight of gold, and whipped her head around to glare at Angel. He merely shook his head, lips pressed tightly. Not now, please.

Her eyes narrowed more, but she stepped outside. "I'll be back tomorrow morning," she warned loudly (their previously agreed upon let-the-roommate-fuck-in-peace time of twelve uninterrupted hours—anything less, and they tended to run into problems). "Bright and early. Eight a.m. Got it?"

Angel rolled his eyes. "Yeah, Cherri. Got it. Love you."

"I love you too," she declared, slowly stepping toward the stairs, nearing a fuckin' roar. The neighbors could probably hear her. "More than anybody in the world. And if something happens, I'll hunt down your killer."

"Good to know. Thank you."

"I'll avenge you!"

Angel couldn't help the affectionate laugh. "Okay! You can go now!"

Cherri finally left, and Angel stepped aside for Husk, who gave him an amused look. "Good friend," he commented on his way in.

"Yeah, she's the best." Angel knew standing around would be awkward as fuck, so he headed to the kitchen and grabbed a glass to fill it with tap water. "Do you want something to drink? I mean, can vampires drink anything other than blood?"

Husk leaned over the counter, watching Angel gulp down the water. "No. Can't tolerate anything else. It just comes right back up."

"Oh. Gross. But you can smoke?"

"Sure. Don't really need functioning lungs when I'm already dead." Angel set down his glass and grabbed a banana. He hadn't eaten since lunch, and it had just been a slice of pizza and an energy drink. "Enough questions about me. What should I know about you?"

Angel shrugged and pondered as he ate. "I 'unno. I moved here last year after I broke up with my ex."

"What happened?"

"He was selling our sex tapes online without telling me and keeping all the money."

Husk frowned. "Good for you, then."

"Eh, I guess. I work a dead-end job and spend all my money on rent and clubbing now. And I don't even do crack anymore, which is a total fuckin' bummer." Angel grabbed another banana and began scarfing that down.

"I'm glad you don't," Husk remarked. "Makes people smell wrong."

"Hmm," Angel nodded, swallowing down his last bite and leaned on his elbows, inches away from Husk. "What do I smell like?"

His eyes dragged down his face, lingering at his throat. Angel hoped his racing pulse wasn't visible. "Like sugar. Haven't smelled that in a long time. Human food all smells like chalk to me."

Angel smiled, excited flutters in his stomach. He placed his chin in his hand. They were so close, Angel could smell aftershave. Did hair grow for vampires? He guessed that wasn't important right now because they were kinda flirting. "Bet I taste better," he teased.

"I bet you do," Husk whispered, gaze flicking back up to his own.

All of a sudden, Angel was too aware that he needed to bathe. Talking about smells was making him a little self conscious. "Um. Can you chill for, like, thirty minutes?" Angel rushed to explain as he saw Husk's confusion. "I've just been at work all day, y'know, and I need to shower." And shave. And smoke a bowl. Shit, maybe hit a dab instead.

"Yeah," Husk smirked, a singular fang glinting. "Go ahead, doll."

Angel dashed off to the bathroom and cut the water as hot as it would go, and then he rushed through the entire thing, cleaning and shaving as quickly as he could. When he emerged, he was pink and lightheaded, but he paid it no mind as he rummaged through his drawers. Should he dress sexy or was that performative and way too eager? Finally, he settled on cheeky, pink lace panties—his favorite color—and an oversized Ripley's aquarium t-shirt that hung just above his knees. Kinda pajamas, kinda not. Good enough. And accessible.

He grabbed his box and stepped out into the living room, where Husk was inspecting their movie collection. "Hey, does weed affect you?" he asked, hoping it sounded casual and not like he was expecting to be ravished in the next hour.

Husk glanced over as he stood. "No," he answered. "Smoking is just an oral fixation of mine."

I could be an oral fixation!! his mind screamed. Instead, he held up the box in question while he sat on the couch. "Then, do you mind?"

His lips twisted slightly, and Angel froze as he stalked over, looking taller from Angel's position. "I do kinda mind," he murmured, head tilting, eyes swirling pools of liquid gold.

"Oh," Angel breathed, heart hammering. "Why?"

Husk leaned down and took the box from Angel's hands with no resistance. Their faces were inches apart. "If you smoke, I won't be able to taste anything else," he rumbled.

Angel's eyes fluttered. He was nearly panting from anticipation, heat rising in his blood. And he was absolutely speechless, mesmerized by Husk's face, body, danger. A vampire, his vampire, was about to destroy him in the best way. Fuck, he was gonna lose his mind.

"You good?" Husk asked softly.

He nodded furiously.

And all he saw last was Husk's smirk.

One second, they weren't touching.

The next, Angel's lips were moving desperately with Husk's.

He shuddered as warmth breath wafted into his mouth, then a tongue brushing along his upper lip. He raised his hands to skim over thick, muscled arms, resting for just a moment at Husk's collar before lowering to unbutton the shirt. He paused halfway, distracted by smooth skin and the swell of defined muscle—and the tongue that flicked into his mouth completely. A moan slipped from his throat. His saliva felt like...static.

Husk broke away briefly. "You do taste like candy," he sighed. "Fuck."

Angel whimpered and tugged him back down by the shirt, licking into Husk's mouth with desperation. Fuck, he'd wanted this for so long. His body was singing, throbbing with need. He couldn't wait anymore.

Husk maneuvered them so Angel was laying on his back, Husk on all fours above him. Distracted by the new, heated kiss, he barely realized when a hand trailed down his side to his hip. But then it moved over to his stomach, and slightly lower, to press firmly where his bladder—and womb—resided. He moaned at the pressure, arching into Husk's touch. And when he shifted like that, his tongue accidentally grazed a fang.

Husk jerked back with an inhuman hiss, and Angel's mouth suddenly tasted like copper. His eyes opened. Husk's jaw was clenched, fangs slightly longer than before and bared. "I'm good, Husk," he whispered. He couldn't even feel the cut, it must've been so small. The taste of blood was even leaving, just seconds later. "Come back."

Gilded eyes flared brighter. "Just—wait."

No. He was tired of waiting. Angel stuck his tongue out as his hands smoothed over Husk's bare chest and his leg wrapped around a thick thigh. "See?" he murmured. "I'm fine. Please, Husk."

Husk released a harsh breath, eyes falling half-closed. "Fuck, Angel. That's not what I meant."

What? Then...oh. Blood—vampire. Duh. He wasn't worried about Angel's tongue. At least not completely, he hoped.

Ashamed and embarrassed, Angel waited patiently while Husk took a few deep breaths. And he couldn't fucking help himself as the impulsive thought blurted out on its own. "Can I see them?"

Husk paused. "I don't know if that's a good idea," he said softly.

But Angel wasn't deterred. He sat them both up, Angel half in Husk's lap. "Please," he whispered, gaze roaming Husk's hesitant expression, hands cupping either side of his jaw. "I want to. I promise not to touch."

His eyebrows furrowed, but a few seconds later, his lips parted.

Angel stared in awe, a thumb tugging his upper lip away for a better look. He'd dreamed about these fangs. Sinking into his thighs, his throat, his ass. All of a sudden, he realized he wanted to be bitten. For real. "Does it hurt?" he asked quietly.

Somehow, Husk knew what he was talking about. "Sometimes," he rasped. "If we're too hungry. Or we want to make it painful."

And even though Angel desperately wanted to feel them, he pulled his hand back, returning it to Husk's jaw. "Would you make it feel good for me?"

Husk's eyes burned. "You're too tempting for your own good," he gasped and brought Angel in for a bruising kiss.

Angel crawled farther into Husk's lap, towering over him, tilting his head for a better angle and pressing his thumbs into Husk's jaw to tilt his head back. He obeyed, and something about a powerhouse bending to Angel's will made him feral. Angel moaned into his mouth, tasting static as large hands guided his hips down.

Fuck—big. Angel liked this position a lot better. He liked taking the wheel. It felt safer. Husk's pelvis rolled into his, and he released a tortured gasp. "Do you have a condom?" he asked between kisses.

"Don't need one," Husk grunted. "Dead people don't get diseases or produce live sperm."

"Fuckin' awesome."

Husk chuckled, the rumbling sound shooting straight through Angel. His hands fell to Husk's pants, undoing the belt, button, and zipper in record time. Then his fingers grazed over a hard cock, hidden beneath silky underwear. Husk sucked in a hiss as his hips bucked. Angel grinned.

"No foreplay?" Husk panted.

Angel ripped his shirt off, then Husk's, along with those pants, tossing it all to the carpet. "Not now," he answered breathlessly as he dove back in for another kiss.

Now their skin was pressed together. Angel trembled with pleasure and barely contained arousal, arching under Husk's hands that slid up his back, then back down to grip his ass. He broke away from Husk's mouth to kiss his neck, wishing he had teeth like his vampire as he sunk his blunt ones into soft flesh. Husk groaned, hips bucking, head falling back to give Angel more access. A sign of submission.

Electric lust made his cunt pulse. He was hot. Too hot. Burning alive.

His hands tugged Husk's dick free, fingers barely wrapping around the girth. He moaned aloud from the sensation and realization. Thank god he was experienced. Husk shuddered hard beneath him, giving Angel another rush of adrenaline. His other hand reached down to move his damp panties to the side, and he gasped when the head of Husk's thick cock brushed his clit.

"Fuck," he whimpered, leaning back to look. It was beautiful, glistening from his own wetness, a slight curve to its shape. He rolled his hips, watching it slide through his flushed lips. "I could cum just like this."

"You're so lewd," Husk said, a growl in his voice that sent shivers down his spine.

Angel merely smiled. "How many times can you cum?"

"What?"

He stroked his hand downward, wanting to giggle from joy when Husk's expression faltered. "How many times?" he repeated.

"I dunno. A lot?"

"Good answer, 'cause I'm fuckin' you all night."

Then he smoothly sank down, encasing the head of Husk's cock.

Fuck, fuck, fuck!

Angel let out a weak cry, body trembling violently with overwhelming pleasure as his pussy spasmed, releasing small bursts of liquid. He was cumming. Already.

Husk's fingers dug harshly into his hips, skin dipping under the pressure. He'd bruise for sure. Angel looked through fuzzy vision, seeing bared fangs shining in the light of the living room lamp. Without conscious thought, he leaned forward and licked the front of Husk's teeth.

Husk grasped both sides of his face and shoved him back, staring at him with wide, shocked golden eyes, panting heavily.

He could only laugh softly, unable to feel anything but elation.

And he sunk down more.

Angel keened as the hard cock stretched him, filling him to the brim. He bottomed out, and the head pressed hard against his cervix, and all Angel managed was a choked curse.

"Angel," Husk moaned, face entirely blissed out.

Tremors wracked him as wave after wave of pleasure and lust washed over him. "S-So..." he mumbled finally, voice thick, eyes drooping, "g-good...Husky..."

Husk's hands fell to his hips again, a thumb dipping down to gently caress his clit. Angel's head dropped backward, a throaty whine escaping. Against his will, his hips rocked forward in time with Husk's soft strokes, stimulating him inside and out.

"Pretty," Husk murmured, voice made of gravel. "And you cum so easily."

"Holy shit," he whimpered, head falling forward once more, another orgasm building. He usually didn't cum this easily—this was all Husk.

And it didn't help that Husk was praising him, on top of it all.

"Fuck, Angel, you're drooling." He gripped the back of his neck and pulled him in, all while he still rocked his hips on Husk's dick, and licked a line up his jaw to his mouth. "You taste good, doll," he rasped.

Angel bared his throat as he wrapped his arms around Husk's broad shoulders. "Please," he moaned out, unsure about what he was asking for. "I'm gonna cum, please, oh fuck—"

"Don't stop, baby, keep going. Feels amazing. Fuck, Angel, your cunt feels so good."

White hot pleasure erupted inside him like flowing lava, and he gasped, cried, hiccupped as his climax hit him again, hips jerking without any rhythm or rhyme. He came down a few moments later, clit throbbing, his pussy's slick coating both his thighs and Husk's.

He just came. Twice. Without his normal amount of effort.

Angel laid his head on Husk's shoulder as he caught his breath. "I can't lift my legs," he mumbled. "Put in some more work, asshole."

Husk huffed a laugh. "You sure you don't want a break?"

"Uh-uh. I wanna be fucked until I can't move an inch. I wanna lose my voice from screaming."

Husk looped his arms under Angel's knees. "Good with me, doll."

He flipped their positions, laying Angel on his back like he was in the beginning, without ever disconnecting them. But Husk sat up slightly, gripped both of Angel's wrists, and tugged them down. Angel writhed impatiently, fingers brushing the lower V of Husk's pelvis, legs spread wide, the stretch in his thighs nearing painful. The sight of Husk above him like this was...otherworldly. With shadows cast over his face, those golden eyes were hard to look away from.

Then Husk moved, and all thoughts left Angel's mind.

A moan dribbled from his lips. Husk's cock scraped his insides so slowly, as if he was savoring the feel of Angel's pussy. It dragged against his g-spot, and Angel's hips twitched. And the way Husk held his wrists so tightly, so he couldn't move anywhere—it stoked some primal fire inside him.

Out, in.

Husk released a long, trembling sigh laced with an animalistic growl. "I need you to relax," he grumbled. "I can barely move."

Out, in.

"I...I can't," Angel panted, his voice slightly deeper. Heavier, as pleasure began to weigh him down. "Don't...know how...can't...f-focus..."

Out, in.

Out, in.

Husk paused, head tipping back. Angel watched raptly during his small break, lust dimming, mesmerized by the muscles tensed and bunched tightly along his shoulders and biceps. He was just as affected as Angel.

"Keep going," he pleaded weakly. Husk glanced down at him, gaze flickering. "I don't care what you have to do. Just keep making me feel good."

Both their eyes fell to where they were connected to watch Husk thrust gently once more; Angel quivered when he felt his lips drag along Husk's shaft. "God fucking dammit, Angel," his vampire breathed, sharp teeth revealed in a snarl that made him look vicious. His heart, already galloping, jumped to Angel's throat, a lupine whine slipping past. "I don't know if I can last long like this."

"No," Angel moaned pathetically, squirming beneath Husk. "Please. I don't wanna stop. It feels so good, Husk, please."

He released Angel's wrists and leaned down, slanting his mouth over Angel's, tongue flicking along his gently. "I won't," he promised in a low, shadowy voice, the sound of it ghosting over his skin. Then his lips trailed to Angel's jaw, down his neck, as those warm hands slid under his knees and pushed them all the way back, bending Angel in half. He made a choked sound at the new position, hands flexing on Husk's chest. Deep, so deep, so deep, his mind chanted. "But patience is a virtue."

Angel giggled at the ludicrous implication. "And what made you...ngh...think I was...ahh...virtuous?"

Husk nipped his throat, and Angel squeaked in fear. Did he—?! A second later, he realized Husk had retracted his fangs, or at least avoided using them somehow, because there was no pain. "It's a fuckin' figure of speech, Angel, give me a break."

He was panting, the sudden spike of danger only heightening his lust. "H-Husk..."

The responding growl made him mewl, body quaking unintentionally. All he could see was the swell of Husk's shoulder, his lips barely able to brush skin just a couple degrees cooler than his. Fuck, he wanted those teeth—those fangs. And he wanted Husk to fucking move. But he wanted to remain crushed beneath his body with scarce oxygen. All of it felt so good. To be consumed like this.

Husk's breath wafting over his sensitive skin, he finally pulled out slightly, then slid back home.

"Yes," Angel gasped, "yes, please, yes."

Another tepid thrust, and his brain shut off again, eyelids falling half shut, unintelligible, messy mutters and pleas stumbling from his lips. "Your blood is so loud," Husk whispered, his next push marginally rougher. "I want it."

Angel went lightheaded. "How bad?"

Husk groaned hard, the sound downright distressed. "So bad my teeth hurt," he answered, breathless. Then he lapped at Angel's pulse, hips picking up their pace. “It smelled so good a second go.”

So he didn’t ingest anything? No wonder he recovered so quickly… Pleasure turned into flames and mounted inside Angel. Every nerve ending was alive. His fingertips tingled. "Fuck," he murmured, "I'm gonna cum again."

"So easy," Husk laughed softly. "Go ahead, doll. I wanna feel you squeeze me."

Not even a minute later, Angel's body shuddered with release, a ragged moan sawing from deep within his chest.

"Good boy," his vampire hissed.

Angel whimpered, still trembling. And Husk was still fucking him, hitting something vital inside. This is driving me crazy, he thought idly.

Husk released his grip on Angel's legs. "Turn over. On your knees," he murmured. Dazed, Angel followed the directions, wincing at the sudden loss as Husk pulled out, and he flipped onto his stomach to lean against the arm of the couch. Husk's hands caressed his back, from shoulder blade to the dip in his spine, then slipped Angel's panties off—he hadn't even realized they were still on. From the corner of his eye, he saw the item of clothing, and Husk's own underwear, fall to the floor.

Angel gasped as he felt Husk's fingers trail the insides of his thighs, all the way up to his center where his thumbs spread his cunt open. "Fuckin' gorgeous, doll," Husk rasped. "Can I keep your pussy? Just for tonight?"

He moaned, long and simpering. This was torture. "You can keep it every night. You can do whatever you want to me."

"Whatever I want?" Husk mused, fingers slipping down to circle his clit, never directly touching. Angel couldn't stop his hips from grinding into the touch. His body was begging to be fucked again. And he had no argument. "That's brave, Angel."

"Please," Angel panted, looking over his shoulder. Husk was smirking, standing on his knees, golden eyes meeting his own. His tongue swiped over his fangs, and Angel melted. "I don't care. I need it, Husky."

Husk's eyes glittered, a laugh bubbling up from his throat. "Fuck, that's gonna ruin me. Just...let me take a break for a second." His gaze fell back to Angel's cunt, thumbs pulling him apart once more. "I'll still make you cum, doll, don't worry."

Angel yelped quietly as Husk pushed him forward, laying his hips over the arm of the couch, rising his ass higher. Entirely on display, Angel could only squirm, his blush constant and burning. Large hands engulfed him, splayed over his rear; Husk moved closer, the weight of his knees dipping the cushions. And then a warm tongue was lavishing his inner thigh.

He liquified on the spot, Husk's throaty moan traveling between his legs. Husk lapped up every inch of him, lips soft, and the occasional scrape of teeth making his heart leap. He wished he could see it—the way Husk was devouring him. Meanwhile, Angel slurred encouraging sounds, letting whatever he felt morph into words. God yes, I love that, your tongue feels—that's—holy shit, Husk, gonna—ahhmmm—cumming, cumming, oh fuck, yes, yes...

Angel thought he was going to pull away, but when that tongue kept laving over his clit in slow strokes, his voice rose an octave. "H-Husk, w-wait," he stuttered, body twitching.

All he heard was a low growl, and then fingers slid into him, curling in. Angel jerked, a cry ripped suddenly from his lips. His clit was too sensitive—and those kinds of orgasms needed breaks in between. Not like penetration. Another high-pitched keen burst from him, thighs shaking hard as Husk continued to lick and suck on him. He was bordering on pain. Spasms wracked his entire body. He wasn't even going to cum from this—but he entertained it, because somehow, the agony was delicious.

Then Husk finally stopped, pressing one, two kisses to his pussy, before rising up, tongue dragging lewdly over his anus and along his spine. He arched into it, teeth clenched, head flinging up, eyes rolled. Husk's hands slid up his sides until they reached his neck, and his fingers wrapped around Angel's throat. Pulled backward, Angel whimpered when he felt Husk's cock against him once more as he was manually sat in his vampire's lap.

"That was amazing," Husk murmured, one hand trailing down to finger a nipple, the other still gripped around his throat. Pleasure sparked inside him, his head foggy. "Those sounds you make are fucking beautiful."

Angel's head lolled to the side, chest heaving with desperate breaths. "I...might need a break," he admitted.

"I don't think so," he whispered in response, lips running along the slope of his shoulder, up to the side of his neck. "You said not to stop until you couldn't move. Until your voice gave out. Remember, Angel?"

He shivered violently. "So why are you still talking, then?"

A short laugh. "Brat. Do you understand how much self-control I have to exercise around you?"

Adrenaline pumped through his veins at that. "Don't."

Husk paused, even his breath, lips frozen on his skin. "Don't what?"

Angel gulped. His blood rushed in his ears from what he was about to suggest. "Don't hold yourself back," he breathed. He was afraid to look at Husk, so he kept his eyes closed, knowing his pulse was thumping under Husk's fingers. "You can bite me. I want it."

I want it so badly.

"You're lying," Husk whispered, his grip loosening. Letting him go.

"No!" Angel blurted. His eyes popped open as he grasped Husk's hands, placing them back on his body. One snug around his throat, one between his legs. Husk shuddered, and Angel could feel his cock, pressed against his ass, hot and throbbing. "I'm serious. It's all I've been thinking about. I wanna feel it so bad, Husk." Angel slid their hands farther down, guiding his fingers inside himself. They both moaned together, Angel's gasping and Husk's tortured. "You want to, right?"

"I could kill you," Husk panted, hips rocking into him despite his words. "I don't know if I can stop in time. I've never done this."

"First time for everything," Angel argued.

"I...I can't."

Angel reached down and grasped Husk's cock, shocks of overstimulation electrifying him as the head slid over his clit, once, twice. Then he sunk down, quivering and crying out softly, relishing in the stretch. He was so close already. A few more thrusts and... "C'mon, Husk," he begged, breathless, head swimming. "Don't you wanna taste me? I'm giving you permission. You can fuck me full of your cum while you do it, too."

Husk snarled, the sound purely predatory. Yet his hips remained stationary. "I could kill you," he repeated darkly. "Do you get that? At best, you'd become a thrall. So stop...ahh...tempting me."

"Tell me how it feels," Angel whispered. His hips rocked forward in miniscule motions.

"It feels..." Husk finally started reciprocating, sending ripples of arousal into him; he whimpered from it, knowing it was only a handful of moments before he orgasmed another time. How was Husk doing this to him? Husk's hands remained where Angel had placed them, two fingers around his clit, the others trailing up to grasp his jaw. "When I bite...it all gushes in so quickly...and it's hot and rich and—powerful..."

Angel sobbed a little as his climax crested. How many had that been now? All one after the other...he was gonna pass out...

"It's intense," Husk went on, though his thrusts paused, voice inside Angel's skin, deep and hungry. "Burning. I want it all over me."

"I'll be your thrall." He was almost done. He was going to fall apart at the seams. "You can do whatever you want to me. Every night."

"Angel," Husk groaned. "You're not in your right mind."

"I'll drink it, too," Angel smiled, dazed. "If you feed it to me."

His vampire went quiet, the only sound his soft breath. "I don't..." He groaned again. "I can't, Angel..."

He turned his head, finally meeting those gold eyes once more, heart wrenching at the pain he saw in them. Fuck, he was so goddamn beautiful. Angel pulled himself off of his cock, gasping at the feeling, then pushed Husk onto his back and crawled atop. His hands roamed Husk's ebony skin, perfectly smooth and unblemished and not sweaty like his own. Over the lines of muscle in his hips, stomach, ribs, then resting at last on Husk's chest. Husk watched him intently the whole time.

But Angel wasn't going to be scared off.

He leaned down, brushing his mouth against Husk's. Even in the short amount of time this had started, Angel had missed the feeling. "I have an idea," he murmured.

"Please, Angel..."

"Hear me out." He raised his hand to Husk's lower lip, tracing the line of it. "Just a few drops. From my thumb. And see how you feel."

Husk released a harsh breath and grasped Angel's fingers tightly. His eyes positively glowed, boring into Angel so fervently it made him want to push harder. "I...are you sure?"

"Mm-hmm," he nodded, gaze dropping to those fangs that poked through. "I wanna see you do it."

There were a few beats of hesitation, but then Husk slowly opened his mouth and brought Angel's fingers to his mouth. His heart leapt in his throat, excitement rushing in his veins like he'd just done a line of coke. Better than that. Husk ran the pad of his thumb along the sharp tip of his fang. It felt just like a papercut. Bright red blood welled immediately, and Angel watched shamelessly as Husk swiped it onto his tongue.

His eyes flared brilliantly, pure, inhuman yellow as he swallowed.

Angel waited with bated breath. The tension between them threatened to eat him alive.

Either he was about to be attacked, or have his dreams come true.

"More," Husk murmured hoarsely.

He nodded eagerly and squeezed another drop from his thumb. Husk lapped at it again, and Angel shuddered as he felt the cock between his legs jump.

"How do you feel?" he asked, soft, insatiably curious.

"Good...so good, Angel..." He wanted to moan as Husk laved at his thumb desperately, like a fucking thirsty dog. He reached between them and grasped his dick, sliding back onto it, relishing in both their sounds of pleasure. Husk raised his legs, bracing them against the couch cushions, effectively bringing them closer together, too. And deeper—so deliciously deep.

"Can...y-you..." Angel couldn't finish his question. He felt like Husk's dick was in his throat, he was so full.

Husk hummed and leaned in, running his lips over Angel's pulse. "Beg me for it, human."

He panted heavily. He couldn't think. Couldn't even feel his own lips through the pleasure, the excitement, the inherent danger.

Husk shifted his hands, one grasping his chin and tilting his head to the side. The other slid down his back, down farther, middle finger pressing lightly against his asshole. "You wanted this, remember? Use that filthy mouth to beg me again. I wanna hear it."

"Y-Yes," Angel managed thickly. "Please. Bite me, cum in me, use me. Make me yours. I'll be yours."

Husk pulled out slightly, slowly, as his mouth opened. Angel gasped in anticipation, his upper body squished in Husk's arms, unable to move. He didn't want to, anyway.

There was a prick of pain.

Then nothing but euphoria as those fangs pierced him, like a knife into warm butter.

It was like...a thousand orgasms. A thousand suns inside him.

He felt Husk's animalistic groan. Felt his tongue lave, coaxing his blood to flow faster.

Felt his cunt gush, flutter around Husk's cock as it moved inside him gently.

Everything...was going...fuzzy...

Then Husk—let him go—no, no, no, don't leave—empty, empty, cold—

Something warm. Against his lips. Tasted like copper.

His mouth opened more, along with his eyes, and he realized Husk was kissing him.

Angel moaned, swallowing down his own blood, sensations gradually returning to the rest of his body.

Husk was fucking him through it. Had been the whole time.

He didn't know where one orgasm ended and the next began. They had all blended together.

"Gooooood," he slurred between kisses. "Knew you could...love this so much, Husky..."

"Angel," Husk panted, tongue sliding along his languidly. "Gonna cum, doll."

"Inside," he murmured. "Please, I want it...feels so good...when it drips out..."

Husk cursed, breath stuttering along with his hips, and at last they pressed hard into Angel.

His stomach instantly grew hot, and he moaned pathetically as his cunt gulped it all.

Husk continued to kiss him, lazy and basking, the taste of blood fading. "Are you okay?" he asked quietly a few moments later, trailing his mouth to Angel's neck. It was tender, but not unbearable. And with Husk licking him clean, it was almost enough to make him cum again.

"I'm amazing," Angel sighed happily. "Keep doing that."

A huff of breath wafted over him. "You're insane," Husk said, his voice soft and...affectionate? "I can't believe you convinced me to do this. I could have—"

"Killed me, yeah," he interrupted. He pulled back slightly to look at Husk. His eyes had dimmed to some strange color, caught between the gold and brown. It was, perhaps, more beautiful than the shades on their own. Then Angel's gaze fell to his mouth, where it was streaked dark red; it sent a rush of satisfaction through him. "I know. But you didn't."

Husk raised an eyebrow. "And you're okay with being a thrall for a few weeks?"

Angel blinked. "Oh. I was expecting the rest of my life. So, yeah, awesome—I can do a few weeks."

The corners of his lips curled, then a laugh bubbled up from his chest, until it turned into full-bodied guffaws as Husk lifted him up and off his body. Angel sat grinning beside Husk on the couch, legs tucked under himself, feeling downright radiant, if not a tiny bit confused. He was still too high to really question anything.

Husk finally sobered, but the smile remained. "Come on, doll. Let's get you in the bath."

Without him asking, Husk scooped Angel up bridal style, and he pointed the way to the bathroom, grateful that he didn't have to walk. He wasn't confident his thighs had the strength. But as they entered and Husk set him down, he leaned against the wall—and he caught his reflection in the mirror.

He was covered in blood. It was on its way to drying, leaving his skin sticky in a way he hadn't noticed until now. From his throat, coating his shoulders, down his chest, dripping to his waist and eventually ending at his hipbones. His fingers rose to touch it, hesitant and...completely awed.

The water started loudly, and Husk turned back toward him. He must have noted Angel's shocked expression, because he stepped closer immediately, a hand on his cheek, thumb stroking the bone. Angel dragged his gaze away from himself to see Husk's concerned frown. "Are you okay? Lightheaded, weak? Do you need some food?"

"No, I..." Angel blinked belatedly. "I think you need to fuck me again."

The fucking sight of himself, ruined like that, had turned him on. God, something was psychologically wrong with his brain.

Husk blew out a relieved sigh, smirking at him. "You're the craziest, most insatiable human I've ever met," he murmured, and pressed a lingering kiss to his mouth. "But you need a break first. Get in the bath with me."

Hours later, a good bit before sunrise, Angel felt his heart thud painfully as Husk pulled on his clothes. "Do we have to spend the day away from each other?" he mumbled. He'd been unable to move or speak for the last thirty minutes—Husk had upheld his part of the promise to fuck him. Thoroughly. His voice was hoarse, like it had been dragged across hot coals.

"That's just the tie speaking, Angel," Husk reminded him.

Right. The thrall connection he'd agreed to.

"You'll be okay," he promised, sitting on the bed and running his fingers through Angel's hair. It instantly soothed him. "I'll be back tomorrow night."

"Why can't I go with you?" he whined. "Didn't you say it would hurt to be apart?"

Husk pondered for a second. "If it gets to be too much, you can call me through the bond."

"Really? I can do that?"

"Pretty sure," he nodded. "I've only ever seen it done. I've never had a thrall of my own."

Angel smiled wide, something warm and sparkly in his chest. "I'm the first?"

"The first." Husk bent down and kissed his lips gently. "Don't worry. The novelty, the...desperation should wear off in a few days. You'll feel back to normal soon."

"What if I need you when the sun is up?" Angel said against his mouth, nipping once. Arousal was still swirling inside him, even after the whole night. Was it the blood tie? Or was it just Husk? He felt like he'd been this way forever now.

"I'll still come to you."

"Husk...I want to go with you." He couldn't help but say it again. It was bursting from his very soul.

"I know," he smiled. "But we already talked about this. You have a life. And I live too far away. And you don't have a fuckin' driver's license, so there's no way you're driving my car."

"You could pay for my cab fare," Angel pouted.

He chuckled. "Just because I'm a vampire, doesn't mean I got money. Why the hell do you think I work at that fuckin' restaurant?"

"...For fun."

Husk pressed another kiss to his mouth, then to his forehead. "I gotta go. Thirty minutes until sun-up."

Angel's heart leapt in fear, and he found the strength to rise up and throw his arms around Husk's shoulders. "This thrall bullshit is gonna ruin my image," he mumbled into his shirt. "Asshole. Take me with you."

Husk ran his tongue over the two bite marks, already bruising, and Angel shivered in delight. "Call me if it hurts too bad," he whispered. "I'll find you."

He didn't know how he let him go, but Husk laid Angel back down, caressing his cheek with the back of his hand before heading out the door.

His heart ached like nothing he'd felt in his life. Like teenage heartbreak, only a hundred times worse. Husk moved farther away, the front door shutting quietly, and with each step away from Angel, tears rose in his eyes. He felt...like his whole world was crumbling around him. A cry tore from his throat at the pain, fingers clutching at his chest, hoping to rip the feelings out. Or at least feel pain that was different, not as bad as this.

Then it...lessened.

Angel breathed deeply, shakily, as the weight lifted slightly.

And flinched at the sound of the front door slamming open.

Angel sat up, tears still streaked down his cheeks.

Was—

His bedroom door opened, and Angel moaned aloud at the sight of Husk, a stormy, tormented expression on his face.

"Angel," he breathed, rushing forward. He held his hands out and pulled Husk in, heart screaming with bliss as his vampire buried his face in his chest. "I couldn't—you can't spend the day away from me—not the first—I can't do it—"

"Fuck, thank god," Angel whispered. "Did you feel it, too?"

"I didn't realize—" Husk sucked in a ragged breath, then lifted his head to kiss him, hard. "I'm sorry. If I knew it hurt that badly, I would've never—I don't know how the others did this."

"You're taking me with you, right?" He'd skip work until it faded. It was fine.

"You're not leaving my side," he swore, hands buried in Angel's hair. The closeness, the intimate way Husk held him, made Angel gooey. "Pack a bag, and tell your friend you'll be fine. I'd rather not be murdered."

Angel grinned. He could fucking jump for joy. "Give me ten seconds, Husky."

Notes:

Bonus: AUTHOR'S THOUGHTS THROUGHOUT THE WRITING PROCESS

Idk if I like the word spelled as "cum". It looks so...unprofessional. Oh well. "Cumming" also looks too long and reminds me of the diesel truck. Anyway. We're trying it out this time. Back to it. Lmk how it is for you.

Damn, Angel's real...straightforward, isn't he?....... (smiles awkwardly)

I feel like I'm losing my smut touch...is my heart not in it? Do I just need to get this one out and then work on something else? I LIKE oneshots. What's going on. Why am I not writing to my full potential right now? Do I just need to get cracked?? THen maybe I'll return to normal??? Idk. I'm losing my marbles.

Hey :) I went to Ripley's aquarium recently. I saw the crabs that ate Amelia. Hated 'em. I liked the sharks & jellyfish tho - I also got a jellyfish windchime!

(Me, frothing at the mouth) man I fucking LOVE fanfiction this is so much fun

How tf did I write this much smut??? This is so much. Perchance too much, if you think too hard about it... Whatever. It's fanfiction. I can do what I want.

…where does one acquire a beta reader… they do it for free, right? ...perhaps I need more friends…

Damn it got a little angsty there at the end… Well, it’s vampires. Those two things always go together. No angst is just plain wrong. That’s like peanut butter and no jelly. “Koolaid, no sugar. Peanut butter, no jelly. Ham, no burger. DAMN.” sorry, anyway. YAY HAPPY ENDING YIPPEE (Cherri doesn’t kill Husk, all is well.)

JESUS. 13k words. That’s…yep.

Eh, they’re a little out of character, but I wasn’t taking this one as seriously as I would a plot-centered fic. It’s fine. I liked it hehe.
