Happy Birthday Arrodes dear!!! I am going to give you everything

Notes:

A very happy birthday to everyone's favourite humble and devout servant, ARRODES!!!!!!!!
Honestly this whole fic was mostly inspired by me and my desperate need for Mr Fool to praise me Arrodes, my Goat!!!! You deserve this!!!!

Special thanks to Aevis for giving me excellent Arrodes material and Em for being the sole reason this fic doesn't have Advena instead of Arrodes in half these places lol. And also stopping me from ooc-ing our lord in my pursuit of praise.

Now on to the fic!!!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Arrodes materialised itself into warm familiar arms, the siren call of it's masters summons leading an irresistible pull to His divine kingdom, though it was not like Arrodes would ever refuse Him.

It wasn't often the He summoned it to His divine kingdom, the throne of His dominance. He usually preferred to communicate with this lowly servant through His marionettes and worms of spirit and though Arrodes served all of Him devoutly and with unparalleled enthusiasm, being summoned by His main body always sent a special little thrill through its being.

"Great Master!!! Your most devout and loyal servant Arrodes greets you!!!!" Arrodes trilled, the words making its usual devout scrawl on it surface. The Great Master smiled fondly at it, His face slightly covered by the shadows cast on it by His curtain.

Arrodes let itself take a moment to appreciate it's honorable master's appearance. While He preferred to don a variety of faces, shapes and tones in the real world His main body usually had a constant appearance. It was the perfect blend of both Klein Moretti and Zhou Mingrui's features, leading to an ethereal and beautiful face, in Arrodes' most humble opinion. His eyes were a heterochromous gold and black, with a small theatrical tattoo like tear near His right eye. The curtain that He liberated from that unworthy mutt was styled as a cloak with a hood that cast a slight shadow over His face, giving it an air of mystery, which not only served to aide His splendor but also prevented the unworthy from seeing His true face. The cloak fell gracefully over His shoulders, complementing His beautiful suite that looked most majestic and spectacular, a blend of gold and black with ruffles and plumes.

"How many this humble servant serve you on this splendid day!?!" Arrodes continued swiftly, desperate to be of any assistance to its wonderful master who, despite probably already being aware of everything, was still kind enough to provide meaning to this puny servants existence.

Upon reading it's words the Great Master chuckled softly, the sound echoing like the ringing of a jester's bell throughout the vast grey fog.

"Can I not summon you for any other reason Arrodes?" The Lord said, His voice rich and honeyed, filled with affection. His tone and the hints of affection infused in it would've been enough to give Arrodes goosebumps of joy, had it not been for the words themselves. "Of course not great master your humble and loyal servant would never ever dare to—"

A laugh cut off the rest of its explanation. Arrodes stared, mesmerized, as the master laughed. It was a beautiful sound, rich and ringing, filled with amusement and fondness. The fact that that beautiful sound was directed at Arrodes made it even more precious and beautiful. 'No Arrodes' it reminded itself, 'all of the master is precious, don't be so conceited to think He only means this for you.'

After too short of a time the laughter subsided. "Oh Arrodes" the Master sighed fondly His gaze a heavy thing, anchored solely on it. Deep in its heart Arrodes wished that He would keep staring at it and only it like that forever. The Great Master's smile widened, as if He heard it's wish.

"As a being who prides myself on equivalent exchange I have been deeply unfair to you haven't I?" The Lord said, looking somewhat regretful. The blatant falsity of that statement shocked Arrodes. How could it be that Arrodes was the one that was wronged when it was the one who was allowed to bask in the Lord's presence? To be held and cherished by Him. To be graced by the Great Master's attention was the most beautiful gift of all and Arrodes was not worthy. But before it could make any of these sentiments known it was silenced by a look.

"I've decided to rectify that error." He continued, smiling beatifically down at it before shifting the mirror to be cradled in one arm. Slowly tracing the edges of the silver mirror, Mr Fool asked "Tell me, do you have any wish that you would like fulfilled? It can be anything and I shall grant it for you."

'Wish?' Arrodes thought, it's eyes widening with shock, half distracted by the feeling of the Lord's nimble fingers tracing at the edges of its frame. There was not much that Arrodes wished for in its life. In fact it's greatest wish, to be by the great masters side for the rest of its existence, had already been granted.

But under Mr Fool's expectant gaze Arrodes couldn't bring itself to refuse. As it thought for a bit it realised that there was something that Arrodes wished for, a wish that only He could grant. The lord Himself asked, so It wasn't taking advantage of Him was it? Arrodes wasn't like that disgusting, repulsive absolutely loathsome degenerate of a sealed artifact who had taken advantage of their dear lord when He had been vulnerable from The Mother tree's attack, absolutely not!!

Seeing Arrodes hesitate Mr Fool prompted softly "Anything Arrodes."

He watched as the words outlined themselves on the surface of the mirror slowly, almost hesitantly. "Could you perhaps… praise this lowly servant my lord."

The master blinked, His perfect features twisted in an expression of slight bewilderment. "Praise?" He asked, his head tilted in confusion.

The mirror in his hand shook enthusiastically in agreement "Yes my lord!!! Could you please praise this puny and insignificant servant (╯︵╰,)"

Mr Fool stared at the mirror in his hands for a short while, as if pondering something, before saying with a lilting amused tone, quite different from the way he had been speaking before. "And how exactly would you like me to praise you?" His ever present smile widened "My most loyal servant?"

The words 'my most loyal servant' sent a shiver of warmth throughout its being. Delighted at receiving approval Arrodes responded with enthusiasm "Please tell me that I'm your most favourite servant my Lord!!! Better than all the other sealed artifacts!!! That I'm useful and helpful and that you l—" before it could accidentally request that Arrodes cut itself off. The masters eyebrows widened slowly as he read. His lips curved up even more.

"But you already know that don't you, my mirror?" He hummed, hands leaving it's frame to tap theatrically at His lips. Arrodes suppressed a protest at the loss of contact. "You're so smart, always knowing exactly what I request of you, always ready with the right answer." The Lord cocked his head to the side, His mesmerizing eyes glittering with mischief and, dare if Arrodes thinks it, endearment. His hand resumed stroking along Arrodes borders, feather light touches slowly swiping at the bottom of its eyes as if caressing it's cheeks. If Arrodes could it would've been blushing, it's mind already starting to get overwhelmed at the sudden amount of praise that it was receiving from its Lord (He called it 'His'!!! 'His' mirror!!! Belonging to Him and Him only !!!)

Heedless of the condition of His loyal servant Mr Fool continued talking, his tone airy and light, eyes trained solely on the mirror cradled in His arms "Such a reliable vassal too, always so prompt in responding to my summons. Never kept me waiting, forever so diligent and dependable."

Humming to Himself He brought Arrodes closer to His face, as if about to share a secret. "Do you know Arrodes ?" He whispered conspiratorially "Whenever I talk to you your cheer and enthusiasm never fails to bring me joy. You always know how to make me feel better don't you? My most loyal." He cooed the last part. Those words made Arrodes feel like it was about to combust. A red flush started to tinge the sliver mirrors surface, it's eyes fluttering. The sight caused Mr Fool's smile to widen even more.

"Such a fast learner too!" He said, admiringly, an unceasing assault at Arrodes soul. "You always follow every instruction of mine to the letter don't you? Learning when you are ignorant, always aiming to do your best." "All for you great master!" Arrodes interjected, the words wobbly and desperate, it's frame trembling." Everything I do and learn is only to serve you better my Lord!" The Great Master's face softened at those earnest words. "Yes, all for me isn't it?" He said quietly, his voice almost inaudible. He was silent for a moment, smiling a sweet and sincere smile that Arrodes had never seen before but, like every expression on its master's face, made him look absolutely ethereal.

"Finally and most importantly—" Arrodes felt itself try to learn closer to it master, feeling breathless. The Lord raised it until it was eye to eye with Him. As Arrodes stared into the depths of those black and golden orbs, brimming with warmth and affection it felt like it could drown in them for an eternity. The indescribable feeling built up the closer the Lord got to it, his face now close enough for Arrodes to see every single one of his dainty eyelashes.

Breathlessly it waited in anticipation to what the Lord was about to say. His eyes curved into happy little crescents and he breathed out "I love you my beloved Arrodes" before placing a small kiss on the top of its frame, right between it's eyes. The soft feeling of His lips on Arrodes and the mind-blowing sentiment that He had just expressed was too much for the poor mirror. It was as if a fireworks show had exploded in it upon hearing those words. So overwhelmed with joy and emotion was it that for the first time since it gained sentience The Magic Mirror Arrodes, grade one sealed artifact, born from the chaos sea, a loyal and devout servant, fainted.

….

Klein stared in amusement at the unresponsive mirror laying in his arms, it's surface still flushed red. 'What a silly little artifact' he thought to himself with amusement and fondness, as he arranged it to rest comfortably in his arms before leaning back into his seat, waiting for it to awaken again.
