Summary:

Within this story, Blair is writing a novel. Aly specifically described the cover art for that novel --

“An 8 x 10 glossy showed a lonely street after dark, poorly illuminated by a street lamp. To the right, peering from an alley, two golden cat eyes could be seen. To the left, superimposed over the street scene, was the profile of a man. Half in shadow, half illuminated by the street lamp, the strong, square jaw, compressed lips and one pale blue eye dominated the cover. Across the top of the artwork the title had been superimposed; ‘Track of the Cat’. In the bottom right hand corner, in pale yellow, it said, ‘By Jake Sands’.”

-- and I realized that I could create a reasonable facsimile. So this is dedicated to Aly’s memory. I wish I’d thought of it while she was around to see.
