Chapter 1: When the Garden Fell Silent

Chapter Text

A sunny morning in the Hundred Acre Wood was filled with the scent of fresh soil, damp leaves, and sunlight gently brushing the treetops.

Rabbit knelt among the garden beds, replanting carrots and checking the soil around their roots. Every movement, though sometimes requiring effort, filled his heart with joy.

He loved tending the garden - he loved the tenderness with which the plants grew under his care and the satisfaction that his work brought him.

“Ahh… perfect…” he murmured under his whiskers, arranging the carrots in neat rows.

With every basket of potatoes he carried and every root he planted, his heart swelled with happiness. Even the heavier baskets were not a problem - he felt that this work gave him purpose and joy.

However, nothing foreshadowed what was to come...

Suddenly, as he lifted a heavy basket of potatoes, he slipped on the slippery ground. The basket fell from his hands and Rabbit tumbled forward, striking his elbow against a hard stone by the garden bed.

“Oww!” he cried out, his eyes filling with tears.

A sharp pain shot through his arm and elbow. Rabbit immediately went limp and curled into a small ball, letting out a quiet whimper. His paws clutched his arm and his whiskers trembled.

Every movement sent a piercing wave of pain through him, and fear began to grow in his heart.

“I… I can’t… move...” he whispered.

A dark thought appeared in Rabbit’s mind:

Does this mean I might never be able to care for my garden again? Will my carrots and potatoes be left uncared for?

His heart tightened, and tears of fear and helplessness welled up in his eyes.

At the very same time, Tigger was bouncing through the woods, full of energy and joy. His body sprang lightly through the air, and his heart beat with excitement. He thought only about seeing his friend, Rabbit - about greeting his friend, laughing together, and telling him every thought that popped into his head.

“Just a moment more… I’ll see him in just a moment!” he murmured happily as he bounced higher and higher.

But suddenly his eyes widened with terror.

On the ground, among the disturbed garden beds, Rabbit lay still. His elbow pressed against the earth, his whiskers trembling, and tears filled his eyes as he stared up at the sky.

Tigger’s heart nearly broke.

“RABBIT!!” he cried, leaping down from the tree and running toward him.

“What happened?!”

Rabbit tried to move, but the sharp pain reminded him that he could not.

“I… I can’t… it's... hurts…” he whispered in a trembling voice, panic filling his heart in a way he had never felt before.

Tigger felt a wave of pain just looking at his friend like this. Every breath was heavy, and his tail trembled with helplessness and worry.

His heart beat faster and tears gathered in his eyes. Seeing his friend suffer hurt him deeply - but at the same time a powerful determination filled him.

I can’t leave him.

I have to do everything I can to help Rabbit!

Tigger knelt beside him and gently took Rabbit’s paw in his own.

“Easy, Bunny-boy…” he said softly, stroking his head with his paw. “Breathe… everything will be okay.... I’-Im here with you... I won’t leave you.”

Rabbit felt the warmth of his friend and the comfort of his presence.

The pain in his elbow still pulsed, but his heart began to beat a little more calmly. The tears in his eyes mixed with a feeling of relief.

“T-Tigger…” he whispered shakily. “I...I’m scared… I'm so scared”

Tigger pulled him into a gentle embrace so Rabbit could feel the warm, springy comfort of his body.

“I know… I know you’re scared…” he said softly.
“But look at me… I’m here… nothing is going to hurt you now.”

Rabbit’s heart slowly began to warm from his friend’s presence. Fear blended with a growing sense of safety.

He felt Tigger’s warmth, his strength and gentleness at the same time, and his heart filled with gratitude and love that slowly softened the fear.

Carefully, Tigger lifted Rabbit into his arms, watching every movement so he wouldn’t disturb the injury. Each step was full of care and tenderness, and in his eyes you could see both pain and love.

“Just breathe slowly… everything will be alright,” Tigger whispered, though his own heart was beating fast with worry and affection.

Rabbit felt a deep warmth inside as he looked at Tigger, so determined to help him.

His heart filled with overwhelming gratitude and emotion.
