Main Characters:
Mario: The one and only…. Mario! One of the main characters/heroes in the story. A silent, but very expressive character. Who is willing to help anyone he can, a perfect hero for any story.
Luigi: Luigi finally gets to join his brother Mario on another adventure! Although he isn’t as brave as Mario, he is still willing to save the world and face his fears.
Princess Peach: The princess is tired of being the damsel in distress, so she decides to assist Mario (and Luigi) on his adventure! Although Toadsworth insists that the princess is kept safe from danger, she sneaks out in order to help Mario in finding the missing pieces for the star artifact. She talks/wishes to the Star Spirits in order to keep Mario and crew on the right track.
Bowser: Bowser just can’t seem to do things his way, can he? Bowser, with the help of Kamek, released the evil Star Spirit that was sealed away. Bowser almost got the power that he needed to beat Mario, but the Star Spirit managed to escape immediately after releasing it! Bowser must now find a way to get it back, but how will he do that without ruining his reputation as the Evil Overlord of Koopas?
The Fallen Star Spirit: A Star Spirit sealed away because of its unstable, and dangerous power. It brings destruction everywhere it goes, and has the ability to possess anyone it comes across. Its empty eyes, and almost sad expressions seem to contradict its own legend as a heartless being of destruction. How much of that old legend is actually true?
Hazelnut: A goomba who hopes to become the best chef in the Mushroom Kingdom. She is sassy and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She ends up joining Mario and Luigi after they assist her in the cooking contest held in toad town. Her cooking abilities are helpful for Mario and Luigi for various healing items.
Barry: The son of the best Bandit in Tostarena. However… he isn’t exactly what you would call a good thief…. Unlike most bandits in Tostarena, he is very friendly and often very oblivious to what others think of him. He ends up joining Mario and Luigi when they agreed to help him save his father from the Bomb-omb Mafia. His stealing ability is helpful for taking items, badges, and/or coins from enemies.
Nini: A ninji who spends most of her time training to become a master ninja. She is independent and isn’t that much of a talker, but she always protects the ones important to her. She ends up joining Mario and Luigi after their encounter with the Fallen Star Spirit. She uses smoke bombs to go through walls and confuse enemies near them.
Petal: A kind Flutter lady who takes care of her garden on Yoshi's island. She is very caring towards everyone and very protective of them. It’s best not to make her upset though, she can get a bit scary when people hurt the ones important to her. She ends up joining Mario and Luigi when they get lost on the island. She is able to make plants grow faster depending on the situation.
Flynn: A mischievous little fly guy who messes around with Mario and crew. He found one of the star artifact pieces, but he refuses to give it to Mario and Luigi unless they play with him. Very energetic and surprisingly smart for his age. He joins Mario and Luigi after they play all of his “games”. He allows Mario/Luigi to fly to extreme heights and fly down slowly when they hold him.
Boonish: A very powerful wizard who was trained by Kammy Koopa. Originally trained to become a strong foe for Mario to go against. A very shy, but smart boo. Joined Mario and Luigi when they had to work together to find a way out of a spooky forest. They have the ability to turn items invisible and vice versa.
?????? : A mysterious Toad who is waiting for his chance to become a hero. He wishes to become a famous hero, but struggles to achieve this because of his abrasive personality. Mario and crew run into him throughout their adventure since he is also going on an adventure himself to stop the fallen star spirit. He is quick to judge and suspicious of others, but could there be a way to make him join your side?
Twinkle : After the events of Paper Mario 64, Twink grew up into Twinkle! Wish granter and protector of the Star rod. He helps Peach escape from her castle and joins her on her adventure to stop the Fallen Star Spirit. He guides and protects Peach as she learns more about the Star Spirits and their past.
Secondary Characters:
Kamek: Bowser’s most loyal, yet critical servant. Once again, Kamek has to clean things up for Bowser, quite literally. After Bowser’s supposed “Perfect” plan fails, Kamek assists Bowser in getting the Star Spirit back. However, Bowser insists on keeping this “incident” a secret. Just how is Bowser going to achieve this? (And when is Kamek finally getting a break?)
Toadsworth: Princess Peach’s lifetime caretaker and royal adviser. Once the old toad hears about a rouge evil Star Spirit traveling around the world, he makes it his #1 priority to keep the Princess out of this. How many times has she been captured every time life threatening events happen!? Hearing about her wanting to join Mario in this adventure makes him lose it! Does she want to get captured?! He must keep the Princess safe from any harm!
Chapter 1 Characters:
Payce T: Tayce T’s granddaughter and Hazelnut’s #1 Rival. Despite her huge ego, she’s somehow just as sweet as her grandmother. Well… except to Hazelnut. She HATES her, Hazelnut returns the feelings as well. Once she learns that the brothers are helping Hazelnut, her somewhat sweet attitude shifts a complete 180. She is determined to beat Hazelnut, no matter what. These two seem to have a long history together.. Just what happened between them?
Gourmar: A Star Spirit in charge of food related wishes. Always helping out and granting the wishes of the starved. They also love to make a grand appearance as a judge in special cooking festivals! Despite how fancy these festivals may look, everyone is invited! One of which is happening in the Mushroom Kingdom!
Chapter 2 Characters:
Sheriff Kaboom: The sheriff of a small town in Tostarena. This Bob-omb is beloved by many members of the small town’s community. He puts criminals to justice and promises to keep the town safe from harm by any means necessary! He is a benevolent leader and a grand inspiration for everyone in the town. Because of his many accomplishments as a sheriff, he’s been officially acknowledged by Stariff herself! Despite his positive reception, many wonder how he got raised to such a status in such a short amount of time…
Garry: Cousin of Barry. Known as the second best bandit in Tostarena and as the Bandit King. He is the leader of his own small gang, which includes his lackeys/friends Billiam and Mouren. He is a sweet talker who charms his victims into doing whatever he wants, or giving him whatever he wants. He lives alongside Barry and his father, having lost his parents a long time ago. He wants to prove himself as the best bandit there ever was. At the news of the famous Mario visiting Tostarena, Garry decides to give him… a “helping hand”.
Barry’s father (Barry Senior): The best bandit of Tostarena and Barry’s father. He is feared among the small town in Tostarena, as he is known to be able to steal anything without detection, no matter how supervised and defended the area is. He has never been caught… until now! A travelling toad hero managed to catch him and bring him to Sheriff Kaboom. The most wanted criminal has finally been vanquished! He is now kept in the town jail for a life sentence. Everyone is ecstatic about the news… or at least… everyone except a certain Bandit.
Stariff: A Star Spirit in charge of wishes relating to justice. Nothing makes Stariff more happy than seeing justice being served, especially with the worst criminals/villains! Although she does not make a personal appearance in the small town, it is obvious her influence on the town’s citizens, especially Sheriff Kaboom. The town’s justice system is dedicated entirely to her!
