Chapter 1: SECOND LEAD

Chapter Text

It's been almost 1 year since MARS left their previous company and found their independent footing in the industry. It wasn't easy but they were dedicated to making it work and slowly but surely it did work out for them.

They were independent now which also meant personal freedom as well like both Thame and Pepper were publicly dating their partners and their fandom matured as well.

Those who stick to the group have been through all the ups and downs along with the group. They learned to love their idols as a person not as a possession.

Jun was laying on his bed thinking about how far they made it. It felt like yesterday when they were on the verge of disbandment but they stuck with each other, they fought for each other and now that the storm has passed it left the best scenery for them.

Today they ended their promotional activities for their recent comeback. It was a huge hit of course as the album was full of the raw emotion they felt from time they were forced to disband, to the promise to fight against it and come back stronger.

Jun was pulled out of his revire when a notification popped in his phone.

ON BOYFRIEND DUTY NOW 💖💖💖

He looked at what Thame posted and chuckled at it. It's been almost 2 years since that stupid crush he had on Po, the one that he never admitted having. He liked the post with an adoring smile on his face. He was over that crush and now for him Po was just a close friend he can confide in.

His thoughts spiralled around his life how he was able to get over Po only to fall for someone he shouldn't again. How he was always unlucky in love and how he always yearned to be the chosen one but never got chosen.

A bitter chuckle escaped his lips when he thought about it how he was always very close to that person yet the unseen distance between them was way too impossible to be briged alone. To bridge that distance efforts were needed from both the side but the problem was that the other person wasn't even aware of that distance.

Why was love this much difficult? Was he that much of a good actor that he acted everyday and everyone believed it. Was it that difficult to see that those smiles were never from his heart, his laughs weren't because he thought things were funny but because he felt obliged to laugh. He acted all happy all content infront of every one and they thought it was all, nobody ever tried to see beyond the facade he wears every day.

Was it really that difficult to read his eyes his pain or was he not worthy enough that someone would spend their time in reading them especially him ....... especially Dylan.

He sighed audibly.

So what if anyone ever would be able to see beyond that facade nothing gonna change. Not like suddenly he would get what he yearns for. Even if someone gets to see beyond him all they would find will be a broken boy waiting to be found, to be picked and to be loved. This is the vulnerability he is not ready to show anyone.
It's perfectly fine if the world sees him as the goofy, flirty, laid back person who would never be serious about anything in life. A person who doesn't know the concept of some one special.

It's better to be seen like that instead of being broken and fragile. He didn't wanted to burden anyone with his own unrequited feelings about Dylan.

Afterall he is just the second lead in the movie called life. The one who is always there for every one yet no one is there for him. The one who is always overlooked, the one who always stays, listens, cares but unfortunately never gets acknowledged and most importantly never gets choosen.

He was brought back from his thoughts by a phone call. He looked at the caller id it was an unknown number at this time. He almost brushed it off thinking it would be one of those weird obsessive fans.

But something inside him urged to accept the call so he did it and once listening to the person on the other side he jerked out of bed grabbing the nearest hoodie and running out of the room.
