Renjun smiled and waved goodbye to his members. He tried his hardest to keep his composure to show them he was alright. They all shared the cake that was brought on stage after the concert ended to celebrate his birthday. He was happy, so happy in fact that it made him emotional. He was brought to tears on stage, even though he said he wouldn’t be, and the members teased him afterward. They told him he was cute and told him not to cry because it was a happy day.
He was happy, but he was also completely overcome with thoughts of the future, of his next birthday, that maybe it wouldn’t be the same, maybe he wouldn’t be here with his members with the people he had spent most of his life with.
He sat in the car, where he would get taken back to the dorm. He took a deep breath, trying not to cry as he waited for Jisung and his manager to come take them home.
“Finally, you’re here, Jisung. You were taking so long.” He said as the van door slid open, and he opened his eyes to see not Jisung, but Jaemin settling into the seat beside him, “Jaemin, what are you doing here?” Renjun asked, stunned at the younger's presence in the van.
“Going home, Junnie.” He answered like it was the most obvious thing. Which technically it is, but Jaemin and Renjun no longer lived together, which meant there was no reason for him to be in the same car as him.
“Yes, Jaemin, but what are you doing in this car specifically?” He questioned.
“Baby, don’t tell me you forgot about our plans?” he cooed softly. Renjun felt heat rise up his neck as he tried to remember what plans he had originally agreed to. It also didn’t help that Jaemin had a habit of babying and almost seeming like a parent scolding their child.
“Of course I remember!” he exclaimed, clearly lying, and Jaemin caught on, but said nothing. He just smiled and reached over to pinch his cheek.
“We said we would hang out for your birthday at my house, honey. We made the plans last week, sweetheart, you really don’t remember?” he questioned softly, not angry at all.
“We?” Renjun asked. He didn’t know who else would be accompanying them. Jaemin just laughed at him, cooing at him, telling him how cute it was that he only focused on the part where he mentioned someone else.
“Jeno baby, that’s who’s coming with us. Jeno would be mad that you forgot.” and as if Jaemin had summoned him, Jeno himself slipped into the van, the expression on his face slightly confused, clearly having heard Jaemin mention his name. Renjun also couldn’t deny that he looked adorable.
“What about me?” he asked, head tilting sideways as he looked between both of them. He looked like a puppy, which made Renjun’s heart clench, and he was sure Jaemin felt the same if his squeal was anything to go by.
“I was just saying that Injunnie couldn’t remember he was coming to my apartment tonight.” He pouted. Jeno hummed softly as he settled into the back seat.
“Well, Renjun, you have been pretty distracted today, especially after you cried,” he stated, looking at Renjun, which only made Renjun blush and avert his eyes.
“Oh come on, Jeno, don’t keep rubbing that in his face,” he scolded softly while reaching his hand out to caress Renjun’s hair.
As if Renjun’s prayers were heard, their manager slipped into the driver's seat.
“Are you guys ready to go?”
Jaemin punched in the pin to his door and walked in, turning the lights on. Jeno and Renjun followed quickly behind him. They slipped off their shoes, replacing them with the slippers Jaemin keeps for them.
Renjun was fully distracted by leaving his bag and shoes in their proper places; he didn’t notice Jeno invading his personal space until he was slipping his arms around his waist. He pressed his face into Renjun’s neck, nosing at it and pressing soft kisses.
“Jeno,” Renjun murmured, trying to pull away gently, “I’m all sweaty.”
“When has that ever bothered me?” Jeno whispered into his ear before attempting to kiss his neck once more.
“Jeno, please, at least let me shower?” he asked as he pulled his head away from Jeno's. He growled softly before sighing and pulling away.
“Puppy, are you bothering Renjun? Let him go clean up, don't be a bad boy.” Jaemin, who had disappeared to who knows where, peered his head into the entryway and scolded Jeno.
“I’m not stopping him, don’t butt in, Jaemin,” he huffed out. Renjun giggled softly and turned to face Jeno, seeing his face scrunched up in defiance.
He stomped his way towards Jaemin, mumbling about how Jaemin just liked to make him mad. Which was partially true; they all knew it.
Jaemin laughed at his cuteness, cooing and pinching his cheeks as he dragged Jeno towards the living room.
Renjun smiled as he watched them. He truly loved both of them so much; it truly made him wonder how he was worthy of such love from two amazing boys, like the ones he called his lovers.
He made his way to the bathroom, undressed, and turned the water on, letting the steam from the hot water curl around his bare skin, allowing the heat to relax him.
Finally, he slipped into the shower, standing directly under the shower head, letting the hot water flow down his back and force the tension out of his body
Inside the four walls of the shower, the heat surged around him. He began to let his thoughts flow, the thoughts he had tried so hard to push down.
The emotions exploding in his head, he thought about the future, his future, with his team and with the men he loved. The uncertainty of it all, the way their time was slowly coming to an end, yet none of them spoke about it.
His birthday, aging one more year, is a silent reminder of the ticking clock. Decisions that needed to be made, plans and goals to be determined.
Renjun felt his chest tighten. He let the water run directly on his head and clenched his eyes shut, trying to mask the tears that were slipping from his eyes with the water running down his face.
Finally, when a pained cry echoed through the room, he snapped back to reality. He was with his boyfriends, who had probably planned a beautiful evening for him, and here he was crying in the shower.
He ran a hand over his face, scrubbing roughly, and he sighed and went through his shower routine. He stepped out of the shower, steam still whirling around him, and he pulled open the cabinet under the sink and pulled his basket of designated skincare.
Jaemin had bought him his own since, like him, he liked to have a very detailed routine to keep his skin clean and pretty. When he finished with his skincare, he walked out of the bathroom and to Jaemin's bedroom to get dressed.
Jaemin had designated drawers in his dresser for Renjun and Jeno, so he pulled his open and grabbed a pair of underwear and shorts, pulling them on. Then, he opened Jeno’s, pulling out a plain black t-shirt. On Jeno, it might fit tighter, but on him, it was big and loose.
He opened Jaemin's closet, rifling through shirts and jackets until he landed on Jaemin's collection of flannel. He pulled out the softest one and slipped it on. He lifted his arm to his nose, inhaling the scent of Jaemin’s detergent. The scent was homey and loving. He has always liked the smell of Jaemin’s clothes when it was straight out of the dryer. It had that clean scent that he enjoyed.
He put on some socks and his slippers and headed out to the living room, but Jeno and Jaemin were nowhere to be found.
“Jeno? Jaemin?” he questioned, and then Jaemin walked out of the kitchen, a smile on his face and now wearing sweats and a tank top that hugged his muscled torso in all the right places.
“Jaem, you changed? Why didn’t you tell me I took too long in the shower?” Jaemin shook his head softly, a fond look on his face, walking towards him and placing his hands on his shoulder, squeezing them.
“I showered in the guest bathroom, baby, besides you seemed like you needed the time in the shower, love it’s not a big deal,” Jaemin reassured him with a smile. Renjun blushed. Jaemin could always read him so easily, and he loved him for it, but he also felt self-conscious. In a way, he had thought he had done a better job at hiding his emotions; clearly, he failed.
“Where is Jeno?” noticing that the taller man was nowhere to be seen.
“He’s showering too, babe, he’ll be out in a bit,” Jaemin explained, leaning forward to press a soft kiss on his forehead. His hands slid from his shoulders down his back gently, in attempts to relax him.
He then leaned down to give him a soft kiss. It was a gentle and tender kiss that had Renjun’s heart thrumming loudly against his chest. Jaemin kissed with a deep desire that resembled hunger.
Renjun wrapped his arms around Jaemin’s shoulders. Gripping onto him to keep himself up, or he would succumb to Jaemin’s insatiable hunger.
As if he knew gripped his waist tighter, keeping him upright.
“Gosh, baby, you know you look so pretty when you wear our clothes, right?” he murmured as he pulled away.
Renjun blushed and nodded. Of course, he knew, Jaemin and Jeno had a life mission to put him in their shirts or jackets or literally anything that would stay on Renjun’s body, since there was a significant size difference between the three of them.
“You guys are starting without me?” Jeno’s voice cut through the room, ending the flirty energy that had filled the room.
They both turned to look at Jeno, who was standing in the middle of the living room towel around his neck.
“Jeno, your hair is wet! How many times do I have to tell you to dry it!?” Jaemin scolded.
“It's fine, my hair is short right now, it will get dry quickly,” he explained. trying to pull away from Jaemin, who had made his way to him in an attempt to help dry his hair.
“That’s how you get sick, Jeno.” Renjun tsked softly, moving to his boyfriend's side.
“Okay, new plan, Renjun, you dry off Nono’s hair while I go get some things from my room.” Jaemin smiled widely at both of them, squeezing their shoulders before he flitted away to his room.
Renjun let out a laugh, taking Jeno’s hand and leading him to the couch. Renjun plopped down, spreading his legs, motioning for Jeno to sit between them. Jeno flopped onto the floor with an exaggerated groan.
He let Renjun assume complete control over him, as he pulled his head back, and held it steady so that he could dry it thoroughly.
Renjun rubbed the towel on his hair for a few minutes, then pulled it off and ran his hand through his hair. He deemed his hair dry enough, and he set the towel to the side.
“There, Nono, all done,” he said.
Jeno lifted a hand to his hair to feel the dryness before turning around on his knees, pushing himself into Renjun’s space.
“Have I told you that you look cute when you wear our clothes?” Jeno asked, a smile on his lips as he leaned in to steal a kiss.
“You may have mentioned it a few times,” he teased, pulling his head back to prevent Jeno from landing a successful kiss.
Jeno pouted, which caused Renjun to giggle and concede.
Jeno pressed his lips against Renjun’s. It was a sweet and tender kiss. Jeno, like Jaemin, kissed with an insatiable hunger, but in that was desperation that tended to outweigh his hunger. It was cute and endearing, and obviously, Renjun gave him exactly what he wanted.
Jeno’s tongue danced in his mouth, exploring it thoroughly, like it was the first time he was kissing him.
Renjun dug his finger in his hair as Jeno pushed against him harder. Pushing him into the cushions, making him feel like he would melt into them.
“Oh, wow, are you guys gonna fuck on the couch without me?” Jeno pulled away from Renjun, turning to look at Jaemin, who was standing a few feet away from them, looking offended.
Jeno groaned, nuzzling into Renjun’s chest before getting up to sit beside him on the couch. Jaemin had a pout on his lips.
“Of course not, Jaeminnie, we were waiting for you,” Renjun assured.
“Sure didn’t look like it,” he pouted, which caused Renjun to giggle.
“Are you just gonna complain, or are we doing this?” Jeno asked, slightly annoyed.
“Fine, Junnie, cover your eyes,” Jaemin huffed, “Jeno, make sure he covers them,” he ordered. Renjun felt Jeno’s hands slip over his eyes.
“Hey, I wasn’t gonna peek!” Renjun exclaimed, his hands gripping onto Jeno’s.
“It’s just a precautionary measure,” he said in a teasing tone. If Renjun could roll his eyes, he would.
Renjun heard the voices of his boyfriends fill his ears as his vision recovered. Jaemin is holding three cupcakes with three candles.
Happy birthday to you
He felt his heart clench as he watched the two of them sing, big smiles on their faces.
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday, dear Renjun. Happy birthday to you.
Renjun smiled at Jaemin as he set the cupcakes on his lap, “Blow them out, my love.” Jaemin said his smile was wide and beautiful.
Renjun closed his eyes and blew them out.
“What did you wish for?” Jeno asked.
“Silly Nono, if he tells you it won't come true.” Jaemin scolded, flicking Jeno’s forehead. Renjun just smiled at both of them.
His wish was to stay here forever, with the men he loved with all his heart, to be with them until the end of time.
“Okay, fine, now presents?” Jeno asked, his head tilting, just the way a puppy would.
Jaemin stood up from the coffee table, where he had taken a seat. He walked around it and pulled a few bags up from the floor. Jeno pulled the cupcakes away, setting them on the coffee table.
“Hey, I thought I could eat that!” he pouted. Jeno smiled at him, pinching his cheek softly.
“Not yet, Junnie, first presents, then we eat,” Jaemin said as he placed the bags in front of him, sitting back down on the coffee table.
“Open this one first,” Jeno said, placing one of the bigger bags in his lap.
It was hefty; he had no clue what could be in it. He slipped his hands into the bag, pulling out a pouch. It was a Chanel bag, a yellow tweed spring-summer 2026 collection bag. It was beautiful, and Renjun had been eyeing it for a while; he didn’t know how they even got their hands on it.
“Oh, guys! It's beautiful, I love it, I was thinking about getting this one.” He said cheerfully.
“I saw that you had been looking at it. I thought Jaemin and I could get it for you.” Jeno said eyes curved into crescents.
“It’s beautiful. Thank you both, I mean it,” he said cheerfully. Jaemin reached out to pinch his cheek before he leaned down to grab another bag.
He opened it up to reveal a few designer clothing items from Dior: a cream silk blouse with yellow flowers, a knitted pink short-sleeved sweater, and a blue wool coat, all from their 2026 spring-summer collection.
The next bag was Louis Vuitton. They had gotten him a white silk blouse, the collar covered with the LV monogram print in black, and a white tailored jacket.
He couldn’t believe the sheer amount of gifts they had given him; he was happy, sure, but he knew his taste was expensive.
“This is all so beautiful, I loved every gift, thank you, guys, I mean it.” he wasn’t sure if this was enough to express his gratitude; he didn’t know if anything would be enough at all.
“One more gift, baby,” Jaemin said, reaching behind him to pull out a small box, a Cartier box.
Renjun took the box from his hands and flipped it open. Inside was a silver love bracelet, a popular design by the brand. It was simple but beautiful; it wasn't something he would gravitate to, but he loved it nonetheless.
“Oh my loves, this is beautiful,” he felt speechless.
“It’s not something that you would typically wear, we know, but since we all have one, we thought something simple would be good,” Jeno added, extending his wrist out into Renjun’s line of vision to show off the exact bracelet on his wrist.
Renjun’s eyes widened, and he looked at Jaemin, who lifted his own arm to show off the same bracelet. Renjun stared back down at the bracelet in the box. He felt his vision begin to blur.
“We know it’s not much, Junnie, but we wanted to give you something to have that belongs to us, you know? It’s a small representation of our love and- wait, baby, are you crying?”
Jaemin reached his hand to pull his chin up to look at him. Renjun pulled his head away. He didn’t want to cry, not after he had tried so hard not to cry, not to break.
“Baby, baby, please look at me, why are you crying, my love?” Jaemin asked worriedly as he moved to sit beside him on the couch.
Jeno, who was on the other side of him, slipped his hand onto his thigh, giving it a soft squeeze, “Ever since the concert, you’ve seemed a bit down Renjun, we didn’t want to ask, but now we can’t avoid it tell us what’s wrong please?” he asked quietly, squeezing his thigh once more.
“It’s nothing, it’s stupid really,” he choked out.
“Baby, if it's making you cry, then it’s not nothing.” Jaemin frowned.
“Please tell us what’s on your mind, babe.” Jeno encouraged.
“Since the concert, or maybe before then, I’ve been thinking about our future, and just how much it scares me.” Renjun explained his chest felt heavy, he knew his tears were spilling from his eyes much faster than before, “The way there’s no guarantee of forever, how everything could change by the end of the year, and that scares me.”
Jaemin reached his hand to wipe away his tears, pulling him into his chest. As soon as Renjun’s head hit the warmth of Jaemin’s chest, his sobs became uncontrollable. He felt Jeno wrap himself around his back. Both men began to whisper sweet nothings into his ear, pressing kisses on his hair and wherever they could reach.
Once Renjun calmed down, Jaemin pulled him away so he could look into his eyes. He wiped his tear-streaked cheeks, which were now flushed red.
“Junnie, this bracelet is a declaration of our love for you, but it’s also a promise,” Jaemin said as he reached to touch the bracelet on his wrist.
Renjun felt his heart stutter at his words.
“It’s a promise for forever,” Jeno added
“You can't promise that.” Renjun sniffled.
“Maybe not my love, but we’re gonna try, cause youre worth it to us, and if you end your contract, it won’t change a thing because we love you, Renjun.”
“We want you forever, Renjun, we’ll do anything for you,” Jeno promised.
Renjun felt tears spill from his eyes once more. Jeno and Jaemin each wiped the tears away, pressing kisses all over his face.
“It’s you and us forever, baby, for however long that is,” Jaemin whispered, pressing a chaste kiss to his lips, then Jeno followed suit.
“Okay, no more crying, yeah? We have so much planned.” Jeno declared.
“That’s right, we have such a fun night ahead, Junnie, you can’t cry anymore,” Jaemin agreed, “Unless you want to cry for another reason.” A sly smile crept up his face as he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
“I think we should make him cry for a different reason,” Jeno told Jaemin.
“Wait, do I get any say in this?” Renjun screeched as he was lifted into Jaemin’s strong arms, and he led them into his room.
“We’re only doing what you want, and you know it.” Jaemin grinned.
“At least bring the cupcakes.”
“Did you hear Nono? Our Princess wants cupcakes,” he said over his shoulder at Jeno, who was following closely behind.
“Yeah, I got them before you even said anything.”
Renjun smiled softly. He knew the future was an uncertain path, but if this was what forever looked like, he would certainly walk down it. Because with Jaemin and Jeno, forever was worth it.
