Remus was still getting used to how touchy his boyfriend was. While it was true that Sirius had always been touchy, regardless of whether they were dating or not, it felt different now - more meaningful, maybe. Remus hadn’t grown up with parents who hugged him often, nor had he grown up with close friends who hugged, playfought and touched the way James and Sirius had. The fact that now he and Sirius could touch each other whenever they wanted (in private, obviously) was still something to get used to.
That's not to say that Remus didn't enjoy Sirius hugging him or throwing an arm around his waist (he did, very much) it just felt so odd to finally be free to do the things he’d been dreaming of with sirius for so long, to finally relieve the buzzing under his skin that craved to hug, and touch. God, to run his hands through his boyfriend’s jet black hair and trace a finger over his sharp cheekbones and kiss all over his face…
He's getting ahead of himself.
Since when has it ever been hard to concentrate on his homework? He looked to the clock on the wall to his left, then around the library, at the ancient runes homework sprawled on the table in front of him, that he regretfully accepted would not be getting done today. He’d been dating Sirius for, what, two weeks? And almost every plan to be a good student had basically been thrown out the window. There's no way he could pass any exams when all he can think about is his boyfriend.
At breakfast it's his pink lips as they close around a mug of tea. Then in transfigurations it’s his long, slender fingers as the grip around his wand. At lunch he spaces out for a whole ten minutes watching Sirius eat in front of him like a creep.
He might as well just go back to the dorm room anyways. He’d promised to meet Sirius in an hour to go to the greenhouses and steal some of the Hufflepuff’s weed since the supply he'd brought at the start of the school year was becoming dangerously small, and at least with the extra hour he could go and nap or shower, or something.
Gathering up his parchment and books, he headed out. When’s the next time he’d be able to finish this? Merlin, future Remus is gonna hate him.
His arms ached horribly by the time he’d gotten back to the dorm, and he immediately dumped all his stuff on the bed and heaved a big sigh of relief. He really needed to start exercising more often.
It was then that he noticed Sirius sat on the floor, back against his bed, pale arms clutched around his knees loosely, staring off into the distance. Why is he here so early?
“Pads?”
“Oh, hey moony.” He looked up and smiled at Remus, glassily.
“Is…”
“I'm okay, moons.” He sniffed, pressing his palms into his eyes for a moment before standing up and exhaling loudly.
Remus stepped towards him, gaze softening, full of care. "Is there anything I can do anyways?”
A small grin broke out on Sirius' face, canines peeking out from under his lips. Oh how Remus loved that smile. “A hug would be nice…” He trailed off bashfully, stepping closer toward him.
Remus didn't have to be told twice, immediately scooping Sirius up into his arms and slipping his arms around his waist, dropping his head to the junction between Sirius' shoulder and neck. Sirius responded just as enthusiastically, snaking his arms around Remus’ back and holding tightly. Sirius was warm and practically melting into remus and smelled so familiar and Remus decided that if Sirius asked, he would never let go.
He knew that something had happened to upset Sirius and they would, at some point, have to talk about it, but he also knew that he would wait until Sirius was ready to. And that when he would eventually crawl into Remus’ bed at night and sit cross-legged opposite from him and share what had happened, Remus would sit, and listen, and tell Sirius anything to make him feel better.
However, until then, he was okay to stand in their room and hug Sirius for as long as he wished, and relive the ever-present tingling under his skin that longed for his boyfriend’s touch.
“Thanks, moons.” Sirius exhaled into his chest.
“Anything for you.” He replied, truthfully, into Sirius’ neck.
Having a touchy boyfriend was okay, he decided.

Thankfully, while Remus was still obsessed with his boyfriend, he had gotten over his “can’t concentrate on anything" phase (mostly) and could now go to the library and actually do his homework instead of staring off into space, and then having to rush everything the night before.
This came as a great relief to him, as he was finally back on his schedule and could now do more important things in his spare time like reading, and getting high with Sirius off of the weed they’d swiped. (Magical-grown weed was so much better than the muggle stuff and he wasn't sure how he was going to go back to normal weed come summer.)
However, this now meant he was also free again to help his dear, dear friends with their homework, and was now, once again, sat in front of the fireplace in the Gryffindor common with James, Peter, and Sirius in front of him, parchment and textbooks covering the maroon rug beneath them.
“Moony, just show it one more time - please!” Peter whined opposite him. “Im sure im just missing something in the hand movement,”
Remus had been trying to teach Peter a spell for their charms lesson for the past 20 minutes, and they had gotten absolutely nowhere. Each try, Peter would get more frustrated and Remus could feel his good mood slipping. It was nearing the full moon, and his patience was starting to wear thin, and while he loved Peter, he certainly wasn't helping.
Luckily, James seemed to notice and, forever the peacekeeper, offered to help Peter instead.
“Cmon, Pete, I’ll try show you. I've finished my transfiguration essay now.” A kind smile slid across his face, and he and Peter turned toward each other, wands out.
“Yeah, wormtail, it's my turn with Moony anyways!” Sirius grumbled next to him.
Remus turned to look at Sirius, allowing himself a second to appreciate him. His hair fell over his face effortlessly and had an orange glow around it from the fire, and in the dim light of the room, his eyes were dark and almost hypnotising. Remus wouldn't ever be able to get over the fact that Sirius was his now.
After a long second of staring, Remus sighed and faced the inevitable.
“So, what do you ‘need help’ with?”
“I have a Defence Against The Dark Arts essay due tomorrow. It’s 10 inches.”
“Have you started it?”
“No…”
“Do you have any notes?”
“See, I was hoping you’d let me use yours,”
“Sirius.”
“Remus!”
Remus looked at him, trying his hardest to give him an ‘I'm not impressed’ look, but Merlin did Sirius look beautiful. He definitely knew it too, he was looking up at Remus with a small smirk and batting his eyelashes - doing everything possible to try and get Remus to give in.
Prat.
“Pleeeeeease moony! I still have to do my transfiguration essay and there's no chance I can do both tonight!”
“Fine.”
“Yes!” Sirius practically threw himself at Remus, wrapping his arms around his neck and sending them both crashing onto the floor.
“Ugh! Gerroff !” Remus grumbled, pushing Sirius off him, and trying desperately to hide his blush and act like the weight on top of him wasn’t exactly what he needed. He was more or less used to touching Sirius, and vice versa, but he still felt a bit uncomfortable doing it in front of their friends.
James and Peter had now turned around to see where all the noise was coming from and were both giggling as Sirius planted kisses all over Remus’, now bright red, face, Saying
“Thank you moons!” between each peck, trying desperately to get a rise out of him. That's one way to get used to it, I guess. He giggled, despite himself.

No matter how long he would live with James Potter, Remus didn't think he could ever become a morning person. Luckily, James had figured out pretty early on that waking Remus up when he got ready for his obscenely early quidditch practices every weekend was not the best idea, and made sure to be extra quiet whenever he got ready.
This meant that when Remus woke up, usually around 10:30, to sunlight streaming through the gap in the curtains around his bed, the dorm room was empty, save for him and Sirius (who was even worse of a morning person than him, and who had the ability to sleep through a world war).
So, Remus got ready and headed down for breakfast. Peter usually went to watch James practice, and because Sirius never woke up on time for breakfast on weekends, Remus sat with the girls.
After scarfing down three slices of toast, for which Marlene gave him an incredulous look, (honestly, you’d think after the amount of times they’d seen him eat, they would stop being so surprised) he slipped a pastry into his pocket, said goodbye to the girls, and went back up to the dorm to find Sirius.
Once he got back up to their room, he opened Sirius’s curtains and found, to no one’s surprise, that he was still asleep.
“Oi, tosser, wake up.” He shook Sirius until he cracked open an eye.
“Mmmgoaway…”
“Pads, it's almost noon. We said we were gonna go on a walk around the castle and meet James after.”
…
“I bought you food...” He singsonged, holding out the croissant in front of Sirius' face.
Sirius did open both eyes at that and smiled softly at Remus. “I’ll get up in a bit if you come here and cuddle me first.”
In what world could Remus say no to that?
Setting the croissant down on the bedside table, he clambered into bed with Sirius and laid half on top of him, sliding his arm around Sirius' waist and laying his head on his chest. Above him, Sirius, hummed contently and slipped one hand into Remus’s hair and began to stroke the honey coloured curls on his head.
They laid like that for a while, Sirius stroking Remus’ hair and Remus drawing patterns on the slither of skin where Sirius’ nightshirt had ridden up.
Remus nuzzled into Sirius, inhaling his scent.
“Am I not too heavy?”
“You’re perfect.”

It was the day after the full moon and Remus was well and truly knackered. He knew that he was allowed to skip lessons the day following his transformations and Remus appreciated it, honestly, but skipping out on lessons and then having to catch up on all the work after just felt like such a faff!
However this did not mean that, as he lay in bed after a full day of lessons, Remus was not completely regretting his decision.
The school day had been, in the simplest description, a bitch. He’d sat through all his lessons that day with a throbbing headache, barely managing to open his eyes, let alone actually focus, and each break to get to his next class felt more like torture as he navigated long hallways with screaming muscles.
And, for the cherry on top, for some godforsaken reason, the first years had been extra rowdy that day - screaming and running through the hallways and probably chipping off months of Remus' life in the process.
Merlin, he was tired. His body felt like lead, he was practically sinking into the bed and yet, he couldn't fall asleep. It was like there was still something in him - wound up tight and stopping him from properly relaxing.
He was laying there, weighing up the pros and cons of hitting his head with a heavy object to knock himself out when the dorm door creaked open.
“Moony? You alive in there?”
Sirius.
“Mostly,” he croaked back, lifting his head slightly off the pillow.
Sirius padded into the room and stopped at the foot of Remus’ bed, cracking open the curtains enough to fit through. He stood there, Remus remarked in his half-delirium, like an angel. His tie was loose around his collar, top button unpopped and his shirt was untucked. Long waves of hair flowed around his face and brushed just below his shoulders, and warm eyes met Remus’.
“My angel,” Remus crooned, too tired and too happy at the sight of Sirius to be embarrassed. Sirius let out a giggle and a smile broke out on Remus’ face. It was like something inside of him was grasping for Sirius and the thought hit him.
Him and Sirius had come a long way since they’d first started dating, and while physical touch was very much encouraged and no longer a subject of embarrassment between the two, Remus still felt some type of discomfort with asking for it. He would instead, let Sirius ask for it, let Sirius initiate the contact - a small part of him still not fully reckoned with the fact that Sirius was his as much as he was Sirius’ and that he was allowed to take sometimes, too.
But in his exhausted state, Remus couldn't find it in him to worry or care. So, when Sirius asked: “Is there anything I can do that will make you feel better?” Remus answered truthfully.
“Maybe you could just lay here with me a while? I sort of just want a hug”.
Sirius smiled that gentle, loving smile of his that made Remus feel mushy all over, and got into the bed, draping himself over Remus gently. Remus put his arms around him and let out a heavy sigh, feeling more at ease than he had in weeks.
“I’m so tired but I've been laying here for, like, an hour and I just can't fall asleep,” Remus mumbled into Sirius' hair.
“Do you feel better now, is this helping?”
Remus hummed in response, too comfortable to speak.
He closed his eyes, focusing on the weight of Sirius on top of him and listened to the sound of his steady breathing, allowing himself to get lulled into a deep sleep.
