Chapter Text
Yeah.
Jiyeon is doomed.
The kind of doomed that meant she was about to have a mid life crisis in a couple of seconds and explode.
She sat there with her head in her hands, Seoyeon next to her patting her back to try and comfort her, Yubin was—as usual—laughing her butt off at Jiyeon's rich girl problems as if she wasn't in a mess of one too. Such a great friend she was, wasn't she?
At least it wasn't Yubin's problem, it was Jiyeon's. She had her very own different ones with a certain feline woman.
"Yubin, stop laughing!" They heard the swat landing on Yubin's shoulder by either Xinyu or Chaeyeon that were holding back from laughing along with her.
"It's just—c'mon, isn't this so hilariously maddening?" She asked and received another swat to her other shoulder by Mayu this time. "You have a point—but it's not the moment." Xinyu said between her teeth in a stern tone, for once not using Jiyeon's misery as her source of entertainment.
"Thank you, Xinyu. Even though you're probably on my side for once because a man is involved in all of this and you're the worlds #1 man hater." Jiyeon said as she gave Xinyu a blank look that gave her an offended one back. "No!—a little bit, but like this is seriously insane. They want to marry you off with some—beast? And preferably that mistake of a specimen?" She asked.
Yubin and Chaeyeon turning away to laugh at Xinyu's description of a certain man. "You mean that imbecile and mistake of a human being called YeJoon? Please, they'd kiss his ass if he'd ask." A swat landed to Dahyun's thigh by Jiyeon herself.
"Dahyun has a point for once, Jiyeon." Seoyeon said as Dahyun gave her an offended scoff. "Your parents think too highly of him, they don't know half of the things he did behind closed doors and want you to go back to him as if he didn't break you at some point." Seoyeon said softly and Jiyeon let out a sigh.
She wished she could go back in time and slap that man with all her might, and probably give him a kick to the groin.
"I know. But I don't know what to do anymore. How am I going to convince another college student to get in an arranged marriage with me just to get my parents off my back along with an ex that would start a fire out of spite? We're in college and marriage isn't in anyone's head, and neither is dying because of a crazy ex." Jiyeon said and Xinyu murmured under her breath a response.
"Not me, sounds like a hassle and a death sentence." Jiyeon gestured to Xinyu to prove her point. "See! That's what I'm talking about, it's all just too much, even I can't handle it myself. Much less will an innocent soul that I'd be dragging into this mess with me." Jiyeon said with despair as she rubbed her face furiously. Seoyeon patting her back once more.
"Plus, a man! That's horrendous." Yubin said and Jiyeon grumbled. "Why don't you look for a female student? A girl will forever have a girls back." Seoyeon said and Jiyeon turned to look at her.
Out of all of them, Seoyeon is the one to understand her the most. She was put into an arranged marriage with a woman, a one of a kind woman—who by the way treats her like royalty and kisses the ground Seoyeon walks on. Though she was a little older and out of college, but still, she was giving Seoyeon the dream life. Seoyeon had gotten lucky.
Could Jiyeon run with that kind of luck if she tried this out with a woman? Probably not.
Well, Jiyeon has never put much thought to her sexuality anyway, it fell right onto straight out of default. She never really put much effort into figuring out otherwise.
Plus, it wasn't a bad idea...it seemed easier to do. A woman would be so much more understanding and less of a hassle and much more better planned than with a man that would do everything wrong and messing it all up instantly and Jiyeon would find herself marrying that imbecile by the end anyway.
Jiyeon has come to realize that she might be a man hater that unfortunately isn't gay. Or who knows, she'll figure that out later.
"I mean—yeah, I could but I don't know what my parents would think—or what they feel about same-sex relationships. She'd have to be very prominent to be of approval if they're even okay with it." Jiyeon said with a frown and Mayu snapped her fingers as she thought of the perfect candidate for this situation.
Oh, Cupid holds nothing against her.
"If you do decide to look for a female student, I think I know the perfect one for this. She's one of Kotone's friends. She's single and kind, she'd honestly do this if you offered her a shark plushie." All heads turned to Mayu.
Now...who the hell out of all of those knuckleheads could it be?
"First of all, I don't trust none of your girlfriend's little friends, they look like delinquents on the loose." Dahyun said and Mayu raised an eyebrow in challenge. "Uh huh, don't think I don't know you're hanging out with Kaede in secret." Dahyun's mouth shut quickly as heads turned to her this time.
She should really keep her mouth shut sometimes.
Mayu turned back to Jiyeon and went to her, crouching down to look at her. "Trust me, she's a very prominent person. She's also in the dance team since your parents always cared about you getting with someone within the range of your dreams at least, comes from a wealthy family that puts the rest of us in shame, and she speaks in rich to be able to talk to them. She'd fit right in." Mayu said and Jiyeon was still a little flabbergasted by the thought of being with a woman.
She wasn't against it.
It wasn't going to be real anyway.
But this was also new to her. But she has to make up her mind and just suck it up. Because right now, anything was the better idea.
"I don't know, Mayu. I don't even plan on following through with a fake relationship even if it was with a man to begin with. It's a lot and I don't want to bother anyone for this. It's my problem and I can't drag someone along with me." Jiyeon said and Mayu patted her knee. "Come on, think about it. I can't let your parents marry you to that asshole. She'd understand and she'd definitely do this small favor for you anyway. If you do think of following through with a fake relationship, tell me and I'll get you two to meet up." Mayu said softly, trying to convince Jiyeon.
Because in what world will she ever allow Jiyeon to be with that animal of an ex boyfriend when she could be in a fake relationship with someone so much better? And who knows, maybe it wouldn't be fake by the end.
Jiyeon stayed silent for a single second before speaking. "Would she really be up to handling this chaos?" She asked and Mayu smiled. "Her kindness wouldn't let you go through this alone. Plus, she's a big fan of you, she'd sink into this mess with honor." Mayu said with a slight giggle.
Jiyeon let out a sigh and turned to look at Seoyeon who would hopefully tell her no, because that'd be actually inhumane to drag a fan down with her. "It's the only option you have right now, Jiyeon. I say you take it." Seoyeon said and Mayu patted her knee to get her attention.
"And if you're worried YeJoon can hurt her, don't be. She's very capable of keeping you and herself safe from him." Mayu added to convince her fully, knowing it worked when Jiyeon let out a sigh in defeat.
"Okay, I'll meet her." Jiyeon said and Yubin was heard celebrating. "Finally. The conversion has been made!" She received a slap on the back by Xinyu. "You're making it seem like we manifested this moment." Xinyu said and Mayu threw a glare at them to shut up before looking at Jiyeon again that was now sitting there looking ten times more stressed.
Poor Jiyeon. She was in for a ride.
