Chapter Text
Introduction
Benedict Bridgerton is the second son of Violet and Edmund Bridgerton. For those who have only watched up to Season 3, this means he has come to terms with the fact that he loves women just as much as men. He is still not in a relationship; in fact, he prefers to avoid marriage altogether to preserve his freedom, but that could well change when he meets Theo. Theo, Duke of Tintagel, inherited the title upon his father’s death and is still unmarried because he would like to find someone who sees him as Theo and not as the Duke – something that might well happen when he meets a certain Benedict Bridgerton.
Anthony is not the Viscount in my story because when Edmund died, he was too young to take on the title and its responsibilities; it is therefore Edmund’s brother, Henry Bridgerton, who has taken on the role in the meantime. It was written in Edmund’s will that the title would pass to Anthony when he was ready to assume the duties, but of course Henry has tweaked that clause to suit himself in order to retain power, and he keeps saying that Anthony… Believe me, it’s better not to see Anthony as head of the family for the time being.
