Work Text:

DEAN POV

The first thing Dean noticed as he came back into consciousness was that he was too warm. Far too warm. The second was the incredible scent surrounding him. It was overwhelming in the best possible way. Almost intoxicating. He tried to bury himself closer and felt his nose brush against the soft skin of someone’s neck. His eyes opened slowly, heavy with a sleep that was cut far too short. The next thing he felt was confusion. He never let himself fall asleep with hook-ups. Always either giving some sort of excuse like “early class tomorrow” or slipping out after the other person fell asleep. Falling asleep implied commitment and he was usually having too much fun to be committed. Of course… that was before he met Moth and they started their “arrangement”. As his sleepy mind turned to Moth, he began to realize that’s exactly who he was in bed with.

As his eyes began to focus, his memories from the previous night slowly returned as well. Moth texting him, asking for some help with a sketching assignment. Moth’s weak excuse of “literally no one else was available,”. Moth positioning Dean how he wanted, touches lingering, the air thickening around them. Moth’s gaze on him, getting progressively more molten as he traced Dean’s body with his eyes. Moth’s usually cold composer snapping, pulling Dean’s lips to his in a heated, passionate kiss, buttons undone, lips on skin, moans slipping past bitten lips. Dean whispering “Leave it on.” against Moth’s mouth when he went to peel off his tight white tank top. Moth pulling Dean down to his mouth using his necklace, taking Dean's conch earring into his mouth and smirking at the groan that left Dean's lips. Dean letting his hands drift through Moth’s long hair, pulling at just the right spots to make Moth lose his mind. At one point, Dean lost his red button up that he knew drove Moth crazy, even if the other had never acted on it before. He vaguely remembered Moth’s whispered “this is a one-time thing.” against his lips, before they were both lost to the heat between them… The memories continued to pile up and Dean could feel his body starting to react, his hand unconsciously tightening on Moth’s waist, where it had been resting.

He pulled himself away from where he’d buried his nose into Moth’s neck, loosening his grip on Moth’s waist, a wave of unfamiliar embarrassment washing through him. He felt like a teenage boy experiencing attraction for the first time. He obviously knew Moth was gorgeous, had been attracted to him since he first saw him at the club the night they met. But burrowing into his neck? Getting half-hard just from memories of the previous night and the sensation of Moth against him? Not to mention the falling asleep piece of it all. That was not typical.

Dean continued to untangle himself from Moth, slowly so as to not wake the other. He looked over the side of Moth’s bed and found his boxers and his shirt. He leaned down and grabbed his clothes from the floor, first pulling on his boxers then slipping his arms through the shirt. He started to pull back the covers, planning on slipping out unnoticed, bringing some normality back to his routine, when Moth unconsciously shifted back against Dean, causing Dean to freeze. His hand, where it had been holding the covers, subconsciously moved back to rest on Moth’s waist, just slightly under Moth’s white tank top. Dean couldn’t help himself from letting his eyes slowly trace up and down Moth’s body.

Dean wasn’t sure how he allowed himself to become this vulnerable with Moth or when he became so comfortable with the other. It hadn’t even been that long that they’d known each other. But there was something about Moth that Dean found irresistible. Maybe it was partially the "challenge" of it all, Moth not just falling at Dean’s feet like some of his past hook-ups had. Or maybe it was the way Moth was so cold and aloof most of the time but melted into Dean’s mouth whenever they kissed. Whatever it was, Dean couldn’t get enough of it. He wouldn’t go as far as to say he had feelings for Moth, god forbid, but the attraction he felt for the other man continued to grow the more time they spent together. He would never say it to Moth directly, but there were times when Moth’s eyes would soften around him and a genuine smile would appear on his face. Those small moments often caused a strange fluttering in Dean’s chest. Looking down at Moth now, all tension gone from his face, unconsciously pressing back into Dean’s chest, Dean felt that fluttering appear in twofold. He lightly bit his lip. Fuck.

Still not completely in control of his own actions, Dean began to stroke lightly at Moth’s waist, accidentally pushing the edge of Moth’s tank top up. It was as he was bringing his hand up to pull the hem back down when he noticed dark ink under his thumb. He paused in his movements, curious. Instead of continuing to move Moth’s tank top back down, he pushed it up slightly. He felt his breath catch in his throat when he noticed the butterfly etched into Moth’s skin. He had noticed the other’s fascination for the winged creatures. Moth’s walls covered in sketch upon sketch of them. But he never imagined that Moth would have a permanent visual representation of his obsession. The tattoo was clearly designed by Moth, simple but meticulously designed. Delicate but intentional. Dean almost cursed himself for not letting Moth take off his tank top last night so he could appreciate the discovery properly. Leaving was now the last thought on Dean’s mind. Instead a new idea was taking root in his mind. One that involved turning Moth’s black butterfly red and purple.

Dean pulled his eyes away from Moth’s waist, an action that should not have been as hard as it was, gazing at the other’s face again. Moth had yet to show any sign of waking and a piece of Dean, that was getting louder as the seconds went by, wanted to change that.

Almost as if drawn in by a siren, Dean felt himself subconsciously being pulled back into Moth’s neck, his hand tightening back on Moth’s waist, now completely underneath Moth’s top. With a gentleness Dean wasn’t even aware he possessed, especially considering the fire running through his veins, he brought his lips to Moth’s soft skin.

At first, Dean only allowed his lips to brush against Moth’s neck. But as minutes ticked on and Moth still showed no signs of waking, Dean began to press soft kisses up and down the slope of Moth’s neck. The kisses became more insistent as more time passed, Dean pulled Moth even more firmly back against his chest. Finally he felt the moment Moth began to wake. He heard the content sigh leave Moth’s mouth. The small unconscious hmmm of pleasure that left Moth’s lips. Dean couldn’t help the smile that he pressed against Moth’s neck at the sound. He also felt Moth finally come to consciousness when the body in his arms, which up till then had been so pliant and relaxed, tensed.

“Dean?” Moth’s voice was raspy and deeper than normal, causing another wave of heat to flow through Dean’s body. “What are you doing?”

Dean couldn’t bring himself to pull away, instead the soft kisses turned more insistent, his tongue darting out to taste Moth’s skin.

“Saying good morning, baby.” The pet-name slipped out without warning. Not unusual for Dean to use, but in the haze of the morning felt far more intimate than any previous time he’d employed it.

“Baby?” Dean heard Moth scoff at the pet-name, but Dean also felt how Moth was subconsciously melting back into Dean’s chest as he continued to leave kisses on Moth’s skin. He felt the slight hitch in Moth’s breath when he gently bit at the base of his neck, tongue darting out yet again for a taste. A soft moan escaped Moth’s lips when Dean sucked lightly on a spot that he noticed last night was particularly sensitive. The sound was enough for Moth to finally get his wits back, causing him to shift away from Dean’s wandering hands and lips and onto his back. Dean just barely caught himself before he tried to pull Moth back into his arms. For a few moments, Moth just stared at Dean, expression unreadable. It made Dean miss when Moth’s face was relaxed in sleep.

“I’m surprised you’re still here.” Moth finally spoke. Dean raised his eyebrows at Moth’s words. Moth rolled his eyes at whatever expression Dean had slapped on his face.

“Oh please, you don’t have to act all noble for my sake.” Moth didn’t seem at all bothered by the idea of Dean leaving before he woke up. Something that managed to bother Dean, even if his first thought when he woke was just that, to leave.

“Not an act, babe, just wasn’t expecting you to be so bratty first thing.” Dean smirked. “I clearly didn’t do a good enough job last night.” Dean’s hand, which had been resting lightly on the covers since Moth had moved away, moved back to Moth’s waist, brushing up and down. The tension from the previous night began to rise between them again. Moth rolled his eyes again, but this time there was something almost seductive about the motion. Moth’s own hand moved from where it was laying against the bed to brush up a finger up and down Dean’s arm. Moth hmmed.

“You’ll have to try harder than that” Moth’s gaze stayed trained on where his finger was brushing up and down Dean’s arm. “to fuck the brat out of me.” at those last words, Moth’s eyes flicked up to meet Dean’s. Dean’s breath hitched and his hand tightened where he was gripping Moth’s waist. Dean felt a wicked smile spread across his face. He brought his head down to Moth’s, brushing their noses together, then their lips.

“Oh yeah?” Dean watched as Moth’s lips fluttered closed. “Mmhmm” Moth’s hum was all Dean needed to bring their lips together in a deep, heated kiss. Moth responded immediately, melting into Dean just like always. Dean felt one of Moth’s hands slide into his hair, bringing him closer, while the other gripped at his bicep. The kiss turned filthy almost immediately, Dean’s tongue brushing against Moth’s, Moth biting on Dean’s lower lip, Dean sucking on Moth’s tongue. Dean’s hand had just begun pushing Moth’s tank top up and off his body when Dean felt a hand on his chest pushing him away. “Wait.” Dean just barely held back the whine that wanted to escape. He wasn’t ashamed to say he chased Moth’s lips as Moth pulled away.

“What?” Dean panted, trying to get his breath and body back under control.

“We said it was only going to be a one time thing.” Moth stated, though he didn’t sound as confident as he probably wanted to. Dean was glad to see Moth was struggling to get his breath back too, that Moth’s eyes kept flicking back and forth between Dean’s eyes and Dean’s lips, that he hadn’t moved his hand out of Dean’s hair. Dean looked out the window, noticing that the sun was still rising, the grey-blue haze of early dawn still coloring the buildings around them.

“Technically…” Dean brought his lips back down to Moth’s, Moth didn’t resist, returning Dean’s kiss easily. “It’s still not time to wake up yet.” he pressed another kiss against Moth’s lips. “Too early, wouldn’t you say?” Dean’s next kiss was just slightly deeper, Moth whimpered “so there was just…” Dean started to press kisses against Moth’s jaw and down his neck, Moth baring his throat so easily it sent a bolt of lightning through Dean’s body. “A pause in between rounds.” Dean restarted his attempts at removing Moth’s tank top. This time, Moth let him.

Once Moth’s tank top was completely off, Dean pulled away slightly to get another look at Moth’s body. The previous night he’d been so caught up in all the other sensations running through him, he hadn’t had time to truly appreciate Moth’s figure. Before he could look too long, Moth was pulling him back to his lips. Clearly Dean’s persuasion had worked.

“God, I hate that you’re actually so good at this.” Moth groaned between kisses. Dean smiled against Moth’s mouth and received a nip from Moth in response. “Do you really?” Dean slid the hand that had been resting on Moth’s waist down to Moth’s thigh, wrapping it around Dean’s waist, before sliding it back up again. Moth moaned. “Bastard.” Dean hmmed in response, moving from Moth’s lips, down his neck. It was as he slowly descended down Moth’s chest that he remembered what had got him all flustered to begin with. Dean pulled away from Moth to look back down to confirm that he hadn’t been having a particularly vivid dream. But no. There it still was. Just as breath-taking as before. He must’ve gotten lost in staring because in the next moment he heard an impatient “Dean.” that brought him back. Dean’s eyes flicked back to Moth.

“You didn’t tell me you had a tattoo.” Dean’s thumb brushed lightly against the inked skin before pressing down just enough to see the ink move underneath his thumb. He watched as Moth’s eyes fluttered closed at the motion.

“You never asked.” Moth shot back, eyes calculating.

“God, Moth.” Dean groaned. “You have no idea what you do to me.”

“Why don’t you shut up and show me then.” Moth tilted his head to the side, voice seductive but impatient.

“Needy…” Dean brought his mouth back to Moth’s chest before the other could register the word. He got a yank to his hair in retaliation. It did nothing to settle the heat between them.

Dean continued his journey down Moth’s body, leaving nips and marks as he went. He worshipped Moth the way he deserved to be last night, reveling in the sounds he was able to draw out of the usually tight-lipped individual. He felt Moth’s hand brushing through his hair, an oddly intimate gesture but never unwelcomed. Every time Dean got caught up leaving a mark somewhere, Moth would give his hair a tug reminding him of the task at hand.

He finally settled between Moth’s thighs, his mouth hovering above Moth’s inked skin. Dean’s eyes flicked up to meet Moth’s.

“Can I leave a mark here?” Dean didn’t mean for his tone to come off so desperate but he couldn’t help himself. Moth just nodded and bit his lip. Dean breathed a small sigh of relief before pressing his mouth to Moth’s waist. Dean heard Moth gasp at the sensation and, yet again, smirked against Moth’s skin. He began sucking and biting gently on Moth’s skin, bringing his hands up to stroke up and down Moth’s thighs. When he finally pulled his mouth away from Moth’s waist, who knows how long later, he almost gasped at the vision of his mark on Moth’s tattoo. The skin was red around the edges but got darker purple as it got closer to the center. The whole butterfly was now a painting of red and purple, just how Dean imagined it in his head. Somehow it was still even better than his imagination. Dean brought his thumb up and brushed the tattoo gently. He couldn’t help but whisper “Beautiful” against Moth’s waist. Moth moaned in response.

“Dean, please.” The sound of Moth’s begging was like music to Dean’s ears. He brought his lips to Moth’s thighs continuing to tease the other, letting his lips brush, sucking and licking where he wanted. He was feeling high off Moth's scent all around him and the noises that continuously fell from Moth's swollen lips. Before he reached where Moth was aching for him he whispered against Moth’s thigh

“Are you sure you want this to just be a one time thing, baby?” His eyes flicked up to meet Moth’s. Moth’s attempt at a glare was made insignificant from the amount of desire that was clearly currently pouring from every part of his body.

“Shut up.” Moth brought his hand to Dean’s head, guiding him back where Moth needed him. Dean smiled against Moth’s skin one final time.

“Gladly.”
