Chapter Text
Screaming.
Fire.
Chaos—
Sirens.
That’s all I remember, the night when I was apparently taken from my family. I was young, about 6? Maybe younger, but the point is my memory is quite vivid of that place. Maybe for the better, since something tells me there wouldn’t be many good memories. Yet I can’t help but wonder what my life was, before Office Jones took me in. Did I have siblings? A mom, dad, whom actually cared? I tried to figure these out myself, but Jones kept his mouth shut tight. As if trying to save me from some unknowing creature.
" Your not old enough. " He always said, with that same look of disappointment and sorrow. I used to believe that excuse, but that was long ago. I’m 17, for Pete’s sake, I’d be out on my own in less than a year. While I was great full for Jones, taking me in a treating me like my own— it doesn’t mean I wasn’t .. exactly his. Jone’s never hid that from me either, which I will forever be extremely grateful for. As far back as I can remember, he made sure I knew he wasn’t my actual dad, not to crush me, but to make me aware. I understood it well enough— even if I insisted he should be my biological father. Jones was more than excited to hear his coming from my mouth, I vividly remember him accepting to the idea of adoption. And that’s how I gained the name, Henry Phillip Jones. It meant the world to me back then, and hell, it still does— but I can’t help but wonder what my last name was beforehand. Jone’s never told me, and any official documents held no useful information. I just wanted to know— as I stood in front of the mirror. Too late for me to be truly awake, yet I couldn’t sleep. I heard Jone’s talking on the phone. Usually I don’t snoop on others conversations, this, though, was an exception. I creeped down the stairs, feeling anticipation creeping in my bones. I hustled down, hearing Jone’s mention my name.
" I know, Henry should know. I do, but I can’t bear the news to the kid. How would you respond if you figured out your parents where criminals? " He sighed into the phone, going quite as he listened to the speaker. " I just want the best for Henry, Kristen. I really do— and we both know the Rose’s are anything BUT safe. " I glanced around the corner, watching Jone’s run a hand through his dark hair. " I also think, the kid would go bonkers if he knew. He’s worked with me on so many cases, he KNOWS who the Rose’s are— well, least Svetlana and Alejandro. " He took a deep breath, lowering his voice. " ...it’s even worse that we now have evidence confirming the two to be alive. "
My jaw opened wide automatically and I about fell over and screamed just in that one moment. My knuckles going white as I gripped the railing. I inhaled and slowly stood, the room spun for a good second. I couldn’t stay and listen any longer, I just couldn’t. I let out an exhale before making my way into my room and collapsing on my chair. Pulling out a old book— ' Henry’s detective work. ' was plastered upon it. See, Jones was an official police officer and I often went with him on cases. This meant I also got to work with his coworkers, such as detectives. There where multiple cases where I even helped tremendously. I snapped open the book, my eyes fluttering past all my messy writing till I got halfway through the book. I stared down at the page, labeled ' The Rose’s. ' It was the biggest section I had, took up multiple pages— from investigations Jones and I did. To ones I did secretly without his own knowledge. I grabbed my pencil, my hand shaking for whatever reason as I wrote; ' ..Svetlana and Alejandro are alive. ' I paused, my heart beating so fast. ' My parents. ' The pencil dropped out of my hand. I sat there, looking at the wall. The Rose’s.. there’s no way, it had to be a lie, but it wasn’t. Jone’s said it himself. I closed my eyes, leaning my head back. I stayed sitting there, letting the knowledge catch up to me before sitting back up. Svetlana and Alejandro where not the people you’d ever want to cross, or even meet. Two simple people whom where known across the globe for the horrendous crimes. Alejandro was a trafficker, and Svetlana was his right hand Woman. The two caused so many crimes that the list would be longer than Santa’s naught or nice list. What made it even crazier, was the fact that they had kids. I had done so much research on the family, and figured out where they all where now. Never did I think that those people could be my siblings. I took an inhale, before flipping the page.
Issac Rose, the oldest Rose sibling that I knew of. There were many speculations, that Alejandro Rose at one point was with the famous Model & clothes designer, Fleur Dell. Although, she had never confirmed this suspicion. So, for now? Her kids didn’t count in my book. Issac was the exact opposite of his father, hardly online too. It took me forever to find any information about him— and what I found was limited. All I know, is he’s 22, and his twin is no one other than Noah Rose.
Noah Rose was a name that many people knew and spoke of. Unlike Issac, Noah was a lot more out there as a person. He worked in a traveling circus, famous for his tightrope acts— and, well, basically everything he did. Noah was an expert with the circus life, and all the interviews documented showed he was amazing with people too. It’s rare that ever happens.. A thought crossed my mind, what if Noah himself knew about Alejandro and Svetlana? He never tried to cover up his last name, and from what I saw he always referred to his parents as deceased. It was suspicious enough.. That’s.. all the confirmation I need. I took an exhale, flipping the page again.
Anya Rose, younger than the two boys, being 21. She was also, very well known— it seemed to be a pattern. Why where they all so well known? Either way, she was a force people new not to mess with. For, she was a wrestler. One of the best in her time, especially for how short she was. Tiny, but mighty. Just like Noah, she hardly talked about her parents— but when she did, they where classified deceased.
Jocelyn Rose, the twin of Anya Rose. She was a kind soul, one who was quite shy despite being a world famous singer. Jocelyn went from bands to bands, going solo, and back to bands. Her career wasn’t just created from her musical talent, but from her heart. She was known for helping out whoever she could. Silent, but never unknown.
Marissa Rose, 20 years old, and a bitch. There was no other way I could put it, she was a lot like Svetlana. Most people who met her, didn’t survive. Unfortunately, she’s the other sibling I had almost no information on due to her ability to stay hidden. One thing was clear— she wasn’t anything close to being innocent.
Annika Rose, being Marissa’s twin— whom was the opposite from Marissa. Annika was worldwide famous as well, for her business abilities and softball. She was one of the fastest pitchers the world had ever seen, and teams begged her to join. She was known for being loyal, and respectful to anyone she met.
All of those, people— those siblings, are MY siblings. Mine, and one things for sure. They are NOT ready for what’s coming, for they had no clue about Svetlana or Alejandro. Or maybe they did? I closed the book, I couldn’t just sit here without them being aware. Fuck, if anyone where able to stop them— it had to be there own children, right? I exhaled, running a hand through my blonde hair as I suddenly got an idea.
No one else would warn them, so what if I did myself? I had enough information, training, but surely Jone’s wouldn’t let me do this. Well, that’s if I told him. I bit my lip, I loved Jones like a father, but I needed to do this for myself. For them. Was I truly ready for this, to meet them? Sure, It was my chance to meet my family and make a change, maybe finally being noticed and prove myself as a successful detective. Yet it also felt like I was abandoning my life here, in my home. What about my friends, school, my job? No.. I had too, I just had too— I couldn’t explain why, but I felt the one responsible to do so.
I stood from my chair, pacing as I came up with a plan. I’d go find Noah Rose first, taking only what’s necessary. I glanced at the keys and wallet on my nightstand, before grabbing my book and phone. I needed to get going now, there was no time to wait and mess around. Knowing me, if I lingered around, I would end up second guessing myself again. I managed to reach my keys and wallet, exhaling as I snuck out of my room. For my luck, Jones must have gone to bed when I was brainstorming. For silence was all I heard as I walked out of my room. Now sneaking down the stairs, making sure they didn’t creak to much. I walked in the kitchen, grabbing some small snacks and a water bottle before heading outside towards my car. I opened the car door, looking at my house with a sense of dread. " I’m sorry, papa, I gotta do this. Don’t be to mad, okay? " I muttered, smiling softly at the house. I stared second guessing my own plan again, I couldn’t do this to Jones. Could I? I had to, I just did, I was already this far.. I can’t turn back now. I got in drivers seat. Finally starting the car, and fixing my phone up for the destination. ' Carnival of Red — 5 hours away. Minnesota. '
Just my luck,
Not too far.
