Stupid Cupid

Summary:

While not very often, some beings may be blessed with a mark that will help them find their other half. While most records of such a thing are for those with long lifespans, there have been accounts of it happening to mortals, usually when their other half is an immortal.

Typically ones other half is of the same species, but sometimes it can be of two different ones.

There's an old story of a demon and his other half who was a type of angel, a cupid, and how, despite everything against them, they ended up finding each other.

"Cuphead! Get out of bed!" Yelled a blue mug, shaking the other one, who is trying to hide away within his covers. Obviously, it wasn't working. "Today's the day we get to figure out if we have a soulmate!" The other groaned in response, Ah yes, soulmates. Boring, romance stuff.
"Why do I have tah go anyways? You're the one who actually cares about that stuff!" He complained as he got out of bed, stretching as he did so. 

"Because you're my twin, and also you have no choice. You know we have to do this, that way we don't accidentally-"

"Yada, yada. I probably don't even have one anyway," Cuphead waves off his brother's words as he starts to get his stuff together to go with his brother to see if they have soulmates.

"Congratulations! You both have soulmates!"
...
He looks down at the new mark on his body, his soulmate mark, a container of ink with his straw inside instead of the normal quill.
...
He wishes he could say he was happy about having it.

Bendy looked excitedly at his shoulder in the mirror, seeing the new mark on his body. He felt a smile spread across his face as he wondered about his soulmate. He's been waiting for this day ever since he found out that soulmates were real, despite how many people told him it was highly unlikely he would be lucky enough to be blessed with a mark.

Boris was having an amazing nap on his coach, blissfully unaware of the mark forming over his heart. A wrench crossing over a blue striped straw, hidden under all of his fur. He started snoring slightly louder after it finished forming.

"Cuphead, should you be doing that...?" His brother asked as Cuphead was placing some type of tape over his soulmate mark.
"Oh, c'mon Mugs! It's not gonna hurt anybody if I cover it up, and if fates as unshakable as you think it is, they'll find me regardless," He said as he smoothed the tape over it, making it seem as if the mark was never even there. Mugman looked unsure, but he knew better than to try to tell Cuphead not to do it, as telling him not to do something has only motivated him to do it more.

This is an old draft I like, but lost motivation for. So, in return for reading the little I did write, I shall share what would've been the plot if I had written more.

Bendy and Cuphead would've met while Bendy was relaxing in the forest that Cuphead happened to use to ditch his job sometimes. Seeing Cuphead out of the corner of his eye as he looked up, he would've followed to see more. Causing him to freeze at the sight of Cuphead and how pretty he was. Eventually, Cuphead would've noticed him, they would talk, and after they leave each other, Bendy would've finally realized, 'HEY WAIT THAT STRAW IS ON MY SOULMATE MARK!' Thus causing the first issue: Trying to expect anything romantic from Cuphead ever. Don't do that, that's not his thing. If you want romantic things, go bother the other sibling. That expectation would kinda cause Cuphead to push Bendy away a little, and then stuff would happen, causing him to realize he's stupid and needs to not put expectations on someone he just met, even if they're his soulmate. While Cuphead is working on accepting the fact that he has a soulmate, because he never liked the idea of fate picking someone for him, which is why after he got it he had covered up his mark.
You may notice I tagged Mugmutt, which is because that too would have happened, but as a side plot to the main couple. They have their own version of all that, but to be honest, I uh, cannot remember much of what was planned for them, sorry guys.
Anyway, back to Bendystraw! Another plot idea had to do with the whole Cupid thing, such as Bendy maybe 'accidentally' getting hit with another Cupid's arrow at some point, which causes him to act super duper clingy and lovey dovey towards Cuphead until Cuphead figures out how to undo the arrow's effects from his friend.

That's all I remember! I really did like this idea, enough to share it even though it's unfinished.
