The Cullen house is breathtakingly beautiful, nestled deep within the forest, rising like a dreamscape from the trees: towering glass walls that shimmer in the dappled light, open, cavernous spaces that breathe an air of serenity, and the surrounding cold woods that resonate with an eerie silence. It feels sterile and clinical, reminiscent of a hospital. But tonight, the atmosphere is thick with tension, the crisp air humming with unspoken emotion. Every subtle creak of the floorboards seems weighted with significance. The family rarely acts as if they need to breathe, yet if they did, the room would feel suffocating. You sit on the edge of a long, pristine white sofa, tense and alert. Carlisle stands quietly beside Esme, impossibly still, as if frozen in time. The dim amber glow of the lamps casts a warm light on his face, highlighting his features and hers. Carlisle’s golden eyes—once gentle and soothing—dance with an intensity that's raw and unsettling, flickering with unfamiliar emotion. He resembles a figure out of a Renaissance masterpiece, regal and timeless, yet now, a crack in his composed armor reveals vulnerability. You didn’t know exactly what had happened, how it unfolded, but at the moment your eyes met him in the emergency room, something ancient and primal seemed to snap into place—a bond. The bond. Only vampires are supposed to have one soulmate, for eternity. But he already had his—Esme. Esme, standing nearby, gazes at her with eyes that no longer hold the warmth they once did, her expression unreadable, distant.
Their children were out trying to find someone to defend them for the hybrid granddaughter that Carlisle now had. The little girl, whose name was Renesmee, was with her mother and father at that very moment.
“How?” Esme's voice broke through the tension of the room. Her eyes stared at Carlisle like he caused all of this. Carlisle looks at you and carefully walks over to you. Placing a hand on your shoulders.
“I don't know how or why, but y/n is here to stay just like you Es” he answers. Looking right at Esme, who looked like she was preparing to fight you if it came to it. But she nods looking at you like you were a villain.
“We are already in trouble with Voutri Carlisle. And you expect us to harbor a girl. A human nonetheless while we fight that Renesmee isn't an immortal child” she asked, looking at Carlisle. Thank you, a human (gender). Probably the next reason why they are in danger. And probably be used as the next piece of evidence against the Cullens.
