Chapter Text

Peter woke up to an incessant blare right next to his ear, only made 500 times worse because of his advanced hearing.

Today was going to suck for Peter, the lights were just a bit too bright, he could smell things from just a bit too far away, he could taste the next building over’s burnt toast, Peter was just a bit too aware of the clothes on him, he could hear his downstairs neighbor on a phone call with his cousin, talking about a new baby on the way, He could also hear the soft scratching of a pencil from three buildings over, and the soft muttering of the artist, and-

Yeah, today was going to suck.

Oh yeah, the alarm was still blaring, definitely not helping with the headache Peter was developing.
Peter grudgingly rolled out of bed, groaning while doing so, the groan immediately making Peter's headache 5 times worse, so Peter shut his mouth, not wanting to make another sound for the rest of the day. Maybe the week. He wasn't sure, he just really didn't. But, New York is the city that never sleeps, and he still had school today, so he still had to get out of bed.

Peter grabbed the nice pair of noise-cancelling headphones that he had scrounged out of the trash behind an electronics store and repaired. It wasn't all that noise cancelling for Peter, but it was better than nothing on his overstimulated days.

When Peter made his way to the kitchen, he saw a note on the counter. “Hey Pete, I had an early shift today, I might not be back when you get home though. Leftovers from the Thai place in the fridge, I'd prefer you don't do your superheroing today, but I can't stop you. Be safe, Larb you!” This was written in Aunt May’s messy scrawl. Peter softly smiled at the superheroing comment, Aunt May knew him so well!

Peter reached into the fridge and grabbed the least offending piece of food for his senses right now. A piece of bread. Peter popped it into the toaster, grabbing out the butter for when the toast popped out.

Peter put the buttered toast in his mouth, slung his tattered backpack over his shoulder, made sure he had both of his phones, his Spider-man suit, and headed off to school, where he was like 87 percent sure that there was a test in his calculus class today. He wasn't paying attention enough to know. Ned would probably tell him, and anyways, he knew everything in there anyways. He could very likely do that class in his sleep.

Peter made his way to the subway, and while he could swing to school, he didn't want his identity to be revealed, and if people saw Peter swinging to his school, they could very likely connect the dots. He hasn’t been that good with keeping his identity secret, it was how MJ found out anyways.

On the subway, Peter saw a head of curls just on the other side of the car, so he made his way over.

“Hey MJ, I didn’t know you took the subway?” Pete asked quietly, MJ only responding with a very slight raise of her head.

“‘Course I do loser,” MJ responded as Peter sat in the spot next to her in the surprisingly uncrowded subway car.

After the two got off the subway at the closest stop to Midtown School of Science and Technology, they walked together, conversing the Sokovia Accords that were written into existence because of what happened in Sokovia.

Both MJ and Peter disagreed with the Accords because in the Accords, it says that all Enhanced, Mutated, and Mutant peoples are not peoples in the countries, but they are a separate entity. MJ disagreed with this because it was saying that the EMM people are essentially slaves for the government, and Peter disagrees with this because due to the spider bite, he was now a Mutated person.

Both of them also knew that the Accords would make Peter’s life so much harder. It would also make sure that even if there was a global level threat, the Avengers would not be able to do anything about it, which, while MJ doesn’t like the Avengers, she knows that if they didn’t exist, and another New York happened? The globe would very likely die.

The pair then made their way to school, finding Ned at the entrance, who immediately began complaining that there was a test in calculus.

“Hey Pete, I overheard a conversation between Mr. Morita and Mr. Harrington and they were talking about a field trip!” Ned stopped ranting about the calc test to start talking about all the different places that Academic Decathlon could go for a field trip.

“Ned, we’re here,” Peter interrupted Ned’s ramblings, and inwardly sighed as he took his headphones off.

“Ohh, I’m so nervous!” Ned was almost bouncing off the walls. MJ was simply reading her book by the time she sat down in the back row.

The classroom quickly filled up, all chattering loudly, grating on Peter's senses, making him wish he kept his headphones on. Peter should really try to make a way to improve them to have better noise cancellation.

The class quickly quieted down as Mr. Warren entered, already in a bad mood. He said a few curt words, then started handing out the tests.

When Peter got his test, Mr. Warren quietly whispered, “Peter, I know this is not enough, once you get done with this, turn this test in then get another one from me,” Peter was grateful that Mr. Warren didn’t dismiss the fact that Peter was far above the curriculum, and even though he had plenty of other students, he still paid attention to Peter.

Peter nodded in response, quickly diving into the test.

After only about 55 minutes, the bell rang, Peter having finished both tests, and some of the kids groaning because the majority of the class didn't finish, so the test would be extended till the next day, which Peter most of all didn't like because he didn’t have a lot to do in class when he had finished the work because everything he had was typically related to Spider-man, and so he couldn’t really do it in class, lest he risk his secret identity.

Finally, the end of the day was here, Peter just had to attend Academic Decathlon, participate a bit, then go and eat something, then probably do a bit of Spidermanning.

“Alright kids, normally, I know I typically let you guys do your own thing, but today I have a very important announcement! Because of the failure of our Washington D.C. trip, we reached out to a few different places, and one of them actually reached back out! So, we are having a replacement field trip to… Drumroll please…” Mr. Harrington said, and started quickly drumming on the desk, hurting Peter’s ears.

Peter tapped his finger slowly on the desk, though he focused on the steady heartbeat of both Ned and MJ.

“We are going to the Stark Tower! The field trip is going to be in 8 days! So I will say that the permission slip is due tomorrow, as the company has to get us IDs and process the information and all that,” As Mr. Harrington continued, there was an excited silence that was very clearly going to explode soon, very much so going to hurt Peter’s ears and will definitely give him a headache. Peter knew that he would very likely have to leave practice early.

“Hah! Penis’ lies will explode in his face when we go there!” Peter’s bully, Eugene “Flash” Thompson exclaimed, making a few of the AcaDec team members giggle nervously, but most of them were unamused.

“Flash, Peter never told me that he had one, he just had a Stark Industries fair thing,” Ned told Flash. “You twisted my words when I was just talking to Peter,” Ned said, then almost immediately shied away from Eugene when he glared at Ned.

“Do you really need the wimp to defend you Penis?” Flash taunted, getting in Peter’s face.

“Flash, get out of Peter’s face,” Mr. Harrington said, glancing up, and glaring at Flash, who deflated slightly.

{Time Skip}

Peter headed to his house after AcaDec practice, not focusing on anything really.

Peter reached his house after a bit of walking, flopping immediately in his bed.

/—-----------------{Tony}--------------------\

Tony Stark looked at his holograms, trying to figure out Spider-man’s identity.

“Tony, you need to take a break, do something that isn’t looking for Spider-man,” Pepper Potts walked in, her heels clicking against the concrete floor in the lab.

“I’m getting close,” Tony lied, turning towards Pepper

“No you aren’t,” Pepper stated, turning Tony’s holograms off, causing Tony to groan. “Do something, preferably outside of the lab,” Pepper pecked Tony’s cheek, walking off.

Tony grabbed his phone, scrolling through his contacts. Definitely didn't want to contact one of the rogue Avengers, and they probably didn’t have phones anymore anyways. He just talked to Pepper, and Rhodey was in a meeting with the military.

Huh, he did have Spider-man’s phone number, he could probably text or call the guy.

”Hey Spider, you wanna head up to my lab? 89th floor, Friday already has your stuff if you decide to head up through the front entrance.” Tony texted Spider-man, then set his phone down to run one last scan.

/—-----------------{Peter}--------------------\

Peter had JUST closed his eyes, when he heard the notification sound he had for his business phone.

He groaned, cracking his eyes open and grabbing the flip phone which held all the contacts he needed for Spider-man.

Peter noticed that he had a text from the one and only Tony Stark, who in his phone is listed as “Stanky-man,” mature, he knew.

Peter sighed, pulling up the text. ”Hey Spider, you wanna head up to my lab? 89th floor, Friday already has your stuff if you decide to head up through the front entrance.” Peter ran a hand through his hair, contemplating how to respond.

”Sure! I js gotta get my shit on :)” Peter responded, groaning as he got up to put his suit on. He would probably swing straight towards the tower, but he would definitely stop any crimes that happened.

Peter quickly got his suit on, and he grabbed a sticky note, and wrote that he would be on patrol, and placed it on his door. After making sure that everything was good enough, he launched himself out of his window, grinning at the weightless feeling.

After a while, and thankfully no crimes, Peter was on a rooftop just beside Stark Tower, and pulled out his flip phone to text Tony to open his window.

Peter noticed a window opening on one of the higher floors, so he got a running start, launching himself up, getting close to the open window, although he was maybe a few floors off, nothing his webs couldn't take care of!
