Chapter Text
Ned stared at his best friend, laughing in shock as he watched the grainy footage of Spider-man steal Captain America’s shield. Peter and Ned had spent all afternoon watching the vlogs Peter took during his little trip to Germany with the Tony Stark.
“-big fan, Spider-man” the low quality audio played through the old laptop that Peter had dug from the trash a few years ago.
“Holy shit!” Ned exclaimed. “Dude, this is literally the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. You’re lucky you have some self-control because if this was me, no one would ever hear me shut up about it.” The boys continued watching the vlogs, laughing at Peter’s commentary and admiring the occasional frame that showed an Avenger or two fighting.
It had been six months since the whole ‘civil war’ between Mr Stark and Captain America. Peter still wasn’t 100% sure what the Sokovia Accords were and what they actually entailed but when Tony Stark, aka Ironman, shows up at your apartment and asks you to help him; you do it. Besides, he had school to worry about - politics did not seem like the most important thing to him right now.
Ever since his appearance at the airport, Spider-man had become considerably well known globally. On top of that, defeating the vulture had landed him on news sites all over the world. His support around New York made him very popular on social media as hundreds of people shared their stories and encounters with Spider-man, while thousands contemplated the identity behind this masked vigilante.
Ned was the only one who knew that Spider-man was Peter Parker. The only one aside from Tony Stark now… and Happy… and that probably means Ms Potts also knew. Peter tried not to think about it. The point is, not many people knew and Peter wanted it to stay that way. Ever since he was bitten by that spider he’d had to learn the hard way that being associated with his vigilante persona meant danger.
His powers came in waves after the bite. First the ‘spider-sense’, then the super strength, then the stickiness. Though, he quickly discovered that having enhancements wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows as his enhanced metabolism had his stomach rumbling almost 24/7, and the boosted senses made it pretty hard to function normally.
“Wait, so how much have you been in contact with Tony Stark since you basically saved his ass with all that Vulture stuff?” Ned asked.
“Like not that much.” Peter replied. “I kind of stopped sending frequent reports to Happy unless it’s requested, and I think Mr Stark trusts me enough to patrol without supervision. I’m sure he’s been really busy since the Avengers all moved back into the tower.” It had been around two months since the whole ‘Vulture situation’ where Peter had stopped the Vulture (who happened to be his then crush, Liz’s, dad?) from hijacking a jet that was full of avenger-stuff. Peter hadn’t told Ned about the part where Mr Stark offered him a spot as an avenger yet, but he thinks he may keep that to himself for now.
Life had continued as normal; school during the day, Spider-man at night. The new suit made identifying emergencies much easier, and it helped keep the enhanced senses at a manageable level. On top of all that, Peter’s so called ‘internship’ with Tony Stark was like the coolest excuse ever for leaving class early or staying out late on weeknights to patrol. It got his teachers off his back and took a whole load of stress off aunt May’s shoulders knowing Peter wasn’t just some teenage delinquent sneaking out at night to do drugs and what not.
Ned began gathering his stuff to leave when Peter’s phone buzzed.
...
Deadpool: A little birdy told me our boy KK is meeting with a couple of high school students tn
Deadpool: We pullin’ up?

One thing vigilantes really took care of which wasn’t acknowledged enough was drugs in the street. See, something Peter quickly discovered about a lot of addicts was that taking away their dealer wouldn’t stop them from finding drugs because there was always another one. This meant that to really keep deaths-by-overdose to a minimum, he had to be strategic about which dealers to take out. One of New York’s biggest underground dealers, Chookers, was not on Spider-man’s ‘throw in jail’ list. Chookers only sold substances that were pure. She didn’t mix in things that were not meant to be mixed in. She considered portion control, meaning she would put a cap on how much she sold per person, and most importantly, she did not work with anyone under the age of 21. Was she still performing illegal activities which lead innocent people down paths of addiction? Yeah. But it was better than selling sketchy drugs which lead to overdoses and deaths, especially in young people. Spider-man figured if someone was going to buy drugs anyway, it was better that they were safe with it.
Ket-Kenny (or as Spidey and Deadpool liked to call him, KK) on the other hand was not so considerate. He didn’t sell as much as Chook did but his customers were loyal and consistent. Ket-Kenny would make a shit tonne of money by buying cheap supply, then mixing it with crushed glass and icing sugar, among other things, to not only bulk up his contents but make the substances faster acting by basically tearing up his clients’ nostrils so it can hit their brain stronger and faster. This was what led to quick, unnecessary deaths.
...
Spidey: For sure. When and where?
Deadpool: Same rooftop we caught that green-haired mugger at that one time, 9pm - burritos on me if me if we get him
Spidey: ;D
...
“You patrolling this weekend?” Ned asked, heading towards the door.
“Yeah, DP and I are gonna take down a dealer tonight, then I’ll be patrolling most of tomorrow. I think I’ll take Sunday off though - I haven’t started that Spanish assignment yet so gotta wack that out of the way.” Peter replied with a groan.
“Aight. Stay safe and give me a call if I can help with any guy-in-the-chair stuff. I’d offer to help with Spanish but I haven’t started either.” Ever since Ned found out his best friend was Spider-man, he’d actually been a crazy good help. Although the pair spent most of their time building Lego, complaining about school and watching movies like regular teenage nerds, they were both really smart. Ned had become especially efficient with technology related things, he called himself ‘the tracking and hacking’ king. They worked together when Spider-man was completing more stealthy missions like eaves dropping on illegal shipments. Having Ned in his ear while he was on these little missions definitely helped calm his nerves but Peter tried to involve him as little as possible. He didn’t want to drag his best friend into anything too messy or get him in trouble with the law if they were ever able to figure out Spider-man’s identity.
—
After Ned left, Peter changed into his suit and leapt out the window. May was taking a double shift at the hospital that night so Peter didn’t have to worry about being home by a certain time. Spider-man swung from building to building until he reached a rooftop covered in old overgrown pot plants. Deadpool sat on the ledge overlooking the city lights which grew brighter as the sky got darker.
“What’s good, Spidey!” Deadpool exclaimed as Spider-man landed beside him.
“Hey DP. Yo- what do you need all those guns for dude? We’re deadass just taking out a guy who probably lives in his parent’s basement and makes crack between Fortnite matches.” He replied, eying up the various guns and batons hanging off Deadpool’s utility belt.
“Chillout Spidey. I bring these bad boys with me everywhere… for backup. You never know what’s lurking in the shadows.”
“Uhh actually I always know exactly what’s lurking in the shadows. That’s kind of what my powers are. I can literally hear my neighbor’s heartbeats and smell weed being smoked down the street from my bedroom.” He said with a smirk. Spider-man and Deadpool had gotten pretty close over the past few weeks. They had completely different fighting styles which limited their collaboration (aka Deadpool didn’t care what he had to do to someone to complete his mission while Spider-man had a strict ‘no-killing policy’) so they only really teamed up on missions like this one; a drug bust where they swooped up the substances, knocked a few guys out and let the police handle the rest. No deaths needed. Despite having such opposing morals when it came to dealing with criminals, they had a lot in common. That being the whole anonymous vigilante thing.
“Okay we have 15 minutes ‘till KK is meant to meet with these kids in the alleyway below us so keep an ear out.” Deadpool said, kicking his feet which dangled off the edge.
“Can’t sense anything yet.” Peter replied. “What ya gonna get on your burrito?”
“Probably chicken. Ooh, actually, I would fuck up some spicy beef right now. My toilet ain’t surviving the night.” Deadpool’s stomach rumbled at the thought of it.
“You also have enhanced metabolism right? How much more do you have to eat now than before you had your powers?” He asked. Peter hummed in thought.
“When I first got my powers it was a shit load. I was hungry like… literally all the time and found it pretty hard to not focus on the hunger, but it’s a bit better now.” He was lucky (well not really) that he got his powers around the same time that he started puberty so it stood as a pretty good excuse as to why he was eating so much. He soon figured out that May wasn’t exactly financially capable of accommodating his food intake when he caught her lessening her own portions to unhealthy amounts to give him more.
“What did you do to make it better cause fuck, I love food, but cooking is such a nuisance sometimes.”
“Just ate less I guess. Didn’t really have the money to buy loads of food so my body started kind of just adapting to less.” He said non-chalently. Deadpool stared at him for a moment.
“You know if you ever need a cheeky meal or two between patrols, let me know. Money isn’t an issue for me. It’s one of the benefits of being a ‘less ethical’ vigilante. Plus, I would love the company. I have a second Playstation controller for a reason” Wade didn’t know who Spider-man was. In fact, he didn’t know much about the guy at all but he suspected three things: one, he was probably on the young side. Two, he’s a guy, and lives in Queens. And three, he’s way too empathetic for his own good. Having a good heart was critical to being a great hero, sure, but it’s also what got most heroes killed. All that self-sacrificial bullshit. Wade didn’t know what this guy’s situation was, whether he had support or if anyone even knew his identity, but he knew that he was someone Wade wanted to be there for. After all, they made a really strong team when they worked together. And he’s like, the only other funny supe he’d met. He found it unbelievably dull working with other vigilantes (on very rare occasions) in a battle when there was no snarky comments or banter.
“Thanks man. I appre-” Spider-Man paused mid sentence looking out to the street across the alleyway. “I think they’re coming.” The two watched quietly as two people, a boy and girl, entered the alleyway. They looked no older than 18 and giggled as they whispered among themselves.
“Bruhhh he said he’d meet us here.” The boy whined.
“Have some patience man. We’ve literally been here for like twenty seconds.” The blond girl said. Spider-man tapped Deadpool’s arm and moved his hands signalling that KK was approaching. He nodded and fixed his posture, cracking his back, getting ready to jump from the roof.
A man turned into the alleyway and approached the three. He wore a black jacket with the hood up to shadow his face. Two more, really buff looking guys followed closely behind. They also wore hoods and bulky cargo pants hiding whatever they were holding, but Peter could smell weed, gunpowder and hints of blood suggesting that they did in fact have weapons on them. The girl reached into her pocket pulling out two fifty dollar notes and handed it to the man.
“Nah prices have bumped up to $350.” KK said.
“W-what? But you said $100 over text?” The boy stepped forward, nervously confronting the dealer.
"Sorry mate. Supply and demand stuff, I’m sure you understand. Now let’s be quick with it, yeah?”
“Um, I think we’ve changed our minds. We can’t really afford to be spending that much.” The blond stuttered. KK looked into the girl’s eyes as he signalled some kind of signs with his hand. The two guys behind him lifted the bottom of their hoodies slightly, revealing something that wasn’t quite in eye sight to the two vigilantes but Peter’s spider-sense whispered: danger
“KK has a knife in his back pocket and the other two have guns. Let’s make this quick.” Spider-man whispered to Deadpool who responded with a nod.
The two shared a fist bump before jumping into the alleyway. Deadpool landed behind the group, closest to the men with guns while Spider-man dropped down, kicking KK back and landed between the dealer and the kids, leaving them cornered in the alleyway. Deadpool immediately caught one of the guys by surprise, knocking him out clean. The other guy pulled out his gun, aiming it at Deadpool but was quickly disarmed as Spider-man webbed the gun to the closest wall, a light crackling sound emitting from his arm.
Peter was taken aback when an intense stinging sensation ran up his wrist after shooting that web. He looked at the webbed-up gun and noticed what seemed to be small sparks radiating from the webs. He redirected his focus to his web shooter which seemed to have some kind of static glowy effect buzzing around it and making its way to his finger tips.
“What the hell?” Spider-man whispered to himself as he squinted at his webshooter. His focus was quickly re-guided to the fight in-front of him as his Spidey-sense warned him of danger.
“Is that half a kilo of cocaine in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?” Deadpool asked as he kicked the second man with a gun to the ground. KK pulled a knife out of his pocket and aimed it at Spider-man. Peter quickly backed up against the wall and sank down into a crouch with his arms covering his head.
“Oh no! Tiny knives, my weakness! Please don’t stab me with your tiny knife!” He pleaded in a whiny voice. Spider-man, still looking down, shot out his hand, projecting a web and knocking the knife right out of KK’s hand. Deadpool cackled as he pulled out a baton and smacked KK clean in the face, making him swear and stumble back. Spidey shot webs at the wrists and ankles of all three dealers, sticking them to the closest floors or walls where they’d remain until the police arrive.
As Deadpool continued to make his post-battle crude comments and banter towards the dealers, Spider-man turned towards the two high schoolers who were now huddled against the corner of the alleyway breathing heavily. Peter could hear their hearts racing. They were a few years older than him but in no position to be in this situation.
“Are you guys ok?” Spidey approached innocently.
“Y-yeah. Um, thank you. We had no idea they were gonna do us dirty like that.” The boy said.
“We’re so sorry, we shouldn’t have even been here in the first place, we swear we’ll never do anything like that again!” The girl pleaded, looking at Spider-man with fear in her eyes. “Are… are we in trouble?”
“I’ll let you guys off this time, just promise me that you’ll be safer in the future. Meeting some random guy in an alleyway isn’t the smartest idea. Also don’t do drugs.” The kids nodded aggressively in thanks. “Can I borrow that?” Spider-man asked, pointing at the phone in the blond’s hand. She gave it to him without hesitation. Spidey quickly typed in the address of a trusted pill-testing location and the phone number to an addiction help line.
“Even if you guys don’t need this, it’s helpful to have on you just in case. Pill testing is free and legal so if you or a friend aren’t 100% sure something is safe, go here. You won’t be in any trouble.” He said, handing the phone back. “Now get home safe, the cops are on their way.”
“Thank you Spider-man!” They said in unison as they ran off in a hurry, also briefly thanking Deadpool as they passed him. Sirens that echoed in the distance slowly got louder. Deadpool quickly grabbed a bag or two of whatever was in KKs pockets and slipped it into his utility belt.
“What are you taking that for?” Peter asked.
“Gonna see if I can track it back to the manufacturer. Maybe keep a bit to myself as-well, who knows?” Spider-man rolled his eyes under his mask. Suddenly, another stinging sensation ran up his arm again, causing him to hiss in pain. He looked down to see the static pattern thing was now emitting sparks. Peter wriggled his fingers, watching as the rays of electricity seemed to respond with the movement. He closed his fist when it suddenly disappeared, seeming to almost absorb back into his arm?
"You ok?” Deadpool asked, picking up a baton he’d dropped mid-battle.
“Uh, yeah all good, just… webshooter issues..."
"Wait, that stuff doesn't come out of you!?" If the situation were different, Peter would have made a snarky remark back.
"No, it's tech. I think it's just malfunctioning right now.” Peter lied. The webshooters didn’t use any electricity, it was mostly all physics based. There was nothing he could think of that could be causing this. Peter’s spidey-sense suddenly triggered sending shivers down his spine, but it wasn’t a warning of danger. This was something different. Something almost familiar. Where did he recognise this feeling from? He abruptly felt light headed and took a shaky breath, rubbing the back off his neck as he tried to recollect why this felt so familiar.
Shit.
Those first few weeks after Peter got his powers he would frequently get these weird shivers down his spine and waves of headspins. He’d always get them before a new ability appeared. He remembered so vividly one night he couldn’t sleep because of these intense episodes and woke up the next morning accidentally sticking to everything.
This could not be happening. Maybe he was just tired or hungry. Surely this was not what he thought it could be. Could his body really still be mutating? What did electricity have to do with spiders? Peter felt slightly nauseous at the idea that he may not be done.. changing.
"Hey, uh, is that free burrito still up for offer?” Peter did not want to be alone right now. The uneasy feeling was something that a regular human would not understand. Maybe Deadpool went through something similar when he got his powers.
“Obviously! C’mon Spidey, let’s get outta here before the cops show up.”
—
Deadpool and Spider-man sat on the ledge of a building, masks rolled to their noses, looking out onto Central Park.
“Did your enhancements ever change after you got them?” Peter asked before taking a bite from his burrito.
“What do you mean?”
"Like… you got your powers or whatever you wanna call them, and then a while later you get more powers?” He said with a full mouth.
“Nah. When the thing that gave me my ‘powers’… happened… it kind of just stopped at that.” Deadpool replied with a shrug. Wade never really talked about how he got his powers. Sure, it was traumatic or whatever but he already dealt with it in a way that made him feel powerful enough to not think about it much. He made sure Weapon X wouldn’t appear in his, or anyone else’s life ever again. He went to take a bite from his burrito, suddenly stopping and turned to Spider-man.
“Fuck wait- are… are you getting new powers!?”
“No no I don’t think so, I’m just curious. Like would it be possible for our molecular biology to pause and resume evolution at different points of our life? Mutations haven’t really been scientifically explored yet which is kinda weird.”
“You’re asking the wrong guy. I flunked science every year until I dropped the subject as soon as that was an option. Then I dropped out of school, and that was like 12 years ago so anything I would’ve understood would be long gone from my brain.” Deadpool took that interrupted bite out of his burrito. “I don’t even know what ‘molecular biology’ is.” He said with his mouth full.
“It’s basically the branch of science studying the chemical structures and processes of life, focusing on the interactions between DNA, RNA and protein synthesis within cells and all that.”
“Damn Spidey, you’re kind of a mega nerd. You some kind of scientist or something?”
“Nah. I’ve always been interested in physics, chemistry and engineering and stuff but my enhancements kind of forced me to become proficient with human biology given the weird mutations and stuff. I still don’t really get it but someday I hope to fully understand how my power’s developed so that maybe I can help other people going through a similar thing.”
“I don’t think there are many people, if any at all, that are going through a similar thing, Spidey. Aside from some of the Avengers and the Fantastic Foursome I guess, but they’re all way more funded than any vigilante could possibly dream of so I imagine they’re doing just fine.” Deadpool licked burrito residue off his fingers.
“Hey, we should do some experiments.”
“What kind of experiments?” Peter didn’t like the smirk on Deadpool’s face. He just knew this guy was about to suggest something ridiculous.
“Well you said you wanted to see if an enhanced person could get new powers later in life but have you ever tried to see if your current powers can evolve? All that bio shit is probably part of it, sure, but do you reckon the human brain could be, like, preventing someone from harnessing their powers fully?” He said with genuine curiosity. Peter was surprised by the question, he hadn’t really thought about it. The human brain was actually insane in regard to how different parts interacted with each other and how it connected to a person’s entire body overall.
“DP I think you’re onto something dude. Did you have any ideas in mind?”
“Well, have you ever conducted experiments around how your powers react when you’re under the influence of different substances?” He said, grinning as he pulled out the two bags of mystery powders he’d taken from KK.
Yup there it was. Spider-man audibly sighed and rolled his eyes under his mask.
"Onto something or on something?” He mumbled under his breath.
“Oh c’mon Spidey.” Deadpool barked a laugh. “You’ve never tested whether or not you can get high with your enhancements?”
“I’ve never tested any drug, with or without enhancements dude.”
“And you can’t tell me you don’t want to see what that would do for your powers?” Peter thought about it for a moment. This was a really really bad idea. But DP was right. Some of these things literally connected parts of your brain that stopped talking to each other. It’s like how mushrooms connect entire forests through underground networks, this stuff is basically doing the same with your brain! If there was something in the human brain that stopped their enhancements from evolving, this could potentially be the key to not only figuring out what it was, but switching it off. DP lifted one of the bags higher and shook it in-front of Spider-man’s face
“I’ll admit, I’m almost tempted for scientific reasons but it’s probably better if we were in a more controlled environment.” He said, pushing DP’s hand away with a laugh.
“Okay then Spidey, next time maybe. I’ll hold onto these for you.”
“You’re a terrible influence!”
The two laughed before Peter’s phone buzzed. He sometimes brought his phone on missions which weren’t as physically demanding and just kept it in his suit. “Ooh is that a girl Spidey?” Deadpool teased. Peter shoved his shoulder playfully and turned his phone on revealing an unexpected notification.
...
Tony Stark: Hey kid. We need to talk.
Tony Stark: Come to the tower tomorrow morning. Civilian clothing - you’re my intern.
...
"Holy shit? Thank god we didn’t do those drugs.” Deadpool exclaimed, reading the messages over Spider-man’s shoulder. “I knew you hung out with the guy when his whole breakup with Captain Fossil thing was going down but I did not know y’all were chill like that. Working for Tony Stark… that’s a new low man” He joked.
“We’re not really ‘chill like that’. We kind of just collaborate on the rare occasion. I help him out with the fight or two, and he upgrades my suit in return. He’s probably just gonna fix my webshooters or something.” He lied. Spider-man didn’t really want Deadpool to know about his past involvement with anything ‘Avengers related’. Thank goodness Deadpool didn’t have enhanced hearing because Peter’s heart was racing. Mr Stark usually contacted Peter through someone else, it was rarely ever a direct text so this must have been important.
“Anyway, I should probably head home. Thanks for the burrito! I’ll see you around.” Spider-man said, getting up to leave.
“See ya Spidey! It’s always a pleasure saving the city with you.” Deadpool replied in a sarcastically heroic voice. The two snickered before Peter saluted and jumped gracefully from the roof, swinging back home. Peter pulled out his phone as it buzzed mid-swing to see a notification from DP.

Deadpool: Nice bust today Spidey <3
Deadpool: Don’t forget about my food offer - pull up whenever

He tried desperately to ignore the static tingling sensation causing his fingers to twitch as he climbed in through his window. Peter closed his blinds and door, took his suit and webshooters off, then switched the light off and sat on his bed in darkness. He put his hands out in front of him, and immediately saw the glowing jagged lines of electricity swirling around his fingers, down his hands, letting off small sparks on occasion. A light humming noise came from the light with crackles co-eluminating with the sparks.
He laughed slightly in disbelief. This was so different to his other enhancements. In fact this didn’t feel like an enhancement at all, it was a straight up magical power (if he could learn to harness it right).
“Ok Spider-man, think. How did we learn to manage the ‘sticky’ enhancement at will?” He whispered to himself. When Peter first ‘unlocked’ his sticky ability it was a nightmare. He stuck to everything, and everything stuck to him. He was a clumsy, stumbling mess. That was until he took a moment to take a breath and let himself relax; he tried to forget it existed for a moment to have a mere moment of peace.
Peter closed his eyes and took a deep breath, giving himself a second to just focus on staying calm and not thinking about anything at all for a second. At that moment, the buzzing sound came to an end. Peter opened his eyes and there were no glowing lines of static particles at all. Just his plain old hands. Peter laughed again, louder this time.
“Holy crap!” He squealed, voice cracking. Ned was not going to believe this. Peter was practically Darth Sidious now. Halloween was gonna be awesome this year. What other characters had cool electricity powers that he could steal tricks from? Peter immediately thought of Thor - not a character - but an actual person. Correction, god. Would there be copyright issues with sharing powers? Let alone, sharing powers with the literal god of thunder. Well this was gonna be awkward.
“Holy crap…” Peter repeated again, this time barely a whisper. His fantasising over cool powers quickly came to a stop when a thought clicked into place.
My body isn’t done enhancing.
Maybe it really was a puberty thing after all. The enhancements Peter currently had pretty much all came on within a week of getting bitten by the spider and then nothing ever changed after that. He did also get bitten just as he was entering teenage years so maybe that was a factor he should’ve considered: your enhancements changed with your body. Or maybe not, he was probably nervous and overthinking this.
“Okay let’s try something.” Peter said to himself, getting up to grab something from his shelf. He held up a bowling-ball sized globe thing he got from a science museum back in third grade. He turned it over, flipping the small switch at its base and smiled as it lit up a bright yellow to simulate the sun. “Step one, blow up the sun.” He said holding the orb in his finger tips.
Peter closed his eyes and took a deep breath, then opened them back up, directing all his focus on the object. He concentrated on how it felt warm and smooth in his fingers. The humming sound started up again as a faint glow ignited from his fingers. His hands shook with determination and another harsh shiver went down his spine when he suddenly shot a brief burst of electrical energy through his fingers. Peter let out a breath that he felt like he’d been holding in forever. The light from the orb flickered aggressively for a few seconds before returning to normal.
"Hmm. Not as dramatic as I was expecting after the dramatic build up.” He whispered. He shook the light a little and looked at his hands, pulling them into a fist then unclenching and stretching his fingers out.
“Okay let’s do this again.” An experiment was never fully accurate until you’d repeated it at least three times after all, according to Mr Harrington. Peter picked the orb back up, placing it in his finger tips once again. His spider sense suddenly itched at his brain, causing him to slightly twitch his head to the side.
Use the palms
Peter paused for a second frowning. He looked at his hands and readjusted them so that he was holding the orb in his palms, wresting his fingers around it. He repeated the same process as before and the same tingling went down his spine. This time, the electricity whirred brighter around his hands. The orb flickered once again before another, much larger bright burst of light emitted from his hands, creating a loud zapping noise. The room was dark again.
Peter got up, quickly turning his bedside lamp on to see the damage. There was no more light coming from the orb aside from some small sparks flickering from the LED on the inside. Some smoke rose from the battery pack and dark but semi-translucent outlines of Peter’s hands remained on the surface where he’d been holding onto the object.
“Yooooo” he laughed. He had to text Ned immediately.
Peter turned his phone on and opened his messenger app, the top message being unopened from a few hours earlier. The meeting with Mr Stark. He’d forgotten. He hadn’t even replied to the message. Would it be weird to reply at 3:30 in the morning? Ah, screw it, Stark was probably awake anyway.
...
Tony Stark: Come to the tower tomorrow morning. Civilian clothing - you’re my intern.” (seen)
Parker (S-M): Sure. I’ll be there by 7”
...
What did Mr Stark want to talk to him about? He’d seen on the news that the avengers all moved back into the tower so maybe it had something to do with that? A spark flew up with a loud pop from the orb’s base, cutting off Peter’s thinking. Oh yeah… new powers. He thought to himself, registering that he was genuinely about to pull up to the Avengers tower in less than four hours. Where all the Avengers were living… and he was going as Peter Parker, Tony Stark’s intern… and he just figured out he had new powers. Peter buried his face in his hands groaning. He turned his head to look at the phone open on his message with Mr Stark.
Should I tell him?
