Chapter Text
The school clock strikes and the students start gathering at the entrance of the Ouran Acadamy.
Unbeknownst to them, someone was watching from the school tower, talking to their friend about the new transfer student.
"Why are you so interested in that boy" asked the patriarch of the Suoh family."Just want to test a theory" was the response of the head of the Ootori clan.
"Is that theory really worth it to let a commoner without any academical excellence enroll at Ouran?" countered Yuzuru Suoh and his friend chuckled "We'll just have to wait and see."
Kyoya Ootori was not having a good day, he had been trying to acomodate that commoner who broke the vase and it was becoming pretty fruitless. Firstly, she wasn't host club material and she clearly detested the host club's entire existence. He didn't understand why Tamaki still pressed on having her host when she clearly didn't like the idea but as the saying goes: "When in rome do as the romans do" she will just have to endure it.
Secondly, his father came back to urge him to befriend a new student some commoner who unlike Haruhi didn't have any academical excellence. He doesn't understand what the Ootori Group is seeking in this boy so he'll just have to see for himself.
Luckily the new student was placed on that same class as him and Tamaki and if he didn't try to approach this guy Tamaki probably will. He didn't even have to move a finger and Tamaki was already bothering him.
"Hello new student! I'm Tamaki suoh. You are the new commoner everyone is been talking about, taking the spotlight from our dear Haruhi."
The new student looked at him with a deadpan expression and replied "My name is Arisato Minato not new commoner, if Haruhi really wants the spotlight they can take it, I have no need for it anyways."
And with that the new student stormed out of class not having any care in the world about anything said.
At least they now knew that his name was Arisato Minato, such a shame that Tamaki blew his chance at befriending him. He could se that his best friend was affected by the reply and as the ever restless Tamaki he won't give up at befriending Arisato.
Aristao Minato was new to this school and he was already approached by a rich weirdo. He just wanted to go to school, learn a little and go home but no. Anyways he was told by the principal that in Ouran Acadamy it was necessary to join at least one club so he started searching for one.
He laid his eyes on the first club he could see and entered the classroom without thinking. As a result he ended up becoming a member of the Home economics club which was alright because there weren't many members.
In fact, it was only him and the club leader Bebe. Bebe was a foreign exchange student who was enthusiastic about Japanese culture and became overjoyed when he joined the club.
Home economics was a club where you would have to do lots of things like budgeting or home management. However, Bebe was a sucker for sewing and textiles so that became the main activity for the Home economics club.
They instantly hit it off and even though Arisato wasn't exactly a talkative guy he was comfortable listening to Bebe rambling about random fashion facts and sewing costumes.
As he was rambling away he mentioned that this club provided costumes and designs to other clubs in exchange for textile materials and other high-end goods from which Bebe gained inspiration.
"Do clubs really need costumes" was a doubt in Arisato's mind "The average club doesn't really need them but the Home economics has struck a deal with the host club who are always requesting them" replied Bebe.
Arisato was bewildered at this information "Wait, this school has a host club? I hadn't taken the rich to be into that sort of entertainment" Astonished by Arisato's way of thinking Bebe told him that the host club wasn't really something perverted they just hanged out with girls and talked to them.
He even presented some of their members like Kyoya, Haruhi and even Tamaki. Arisato noticed that while talking about Tamaki, Bebe spoke much more fondly of him. This led him to think that they were friends even though he didn't understand what was so great about Tamaki so he asked away.
"Are you friends with Tamaki? I noticed that you really seem to like him" Bebe chuckled warmly "yes, we met in France and enrolled together in Ouran because we were obssed with japanese culture" Bebe paused briefly "now that I think about it he was probably the one who encouraged me to come."
"I am really grateful to him for that because now I'm able to fulfill my dreams making clothes and exploring Japan's culture" as Bebe was talking Arisato started to feel a little bit guilty about treating him rudely until Bebe spoke up again. "I've also noticed that you feel a little reluctant about him, has anything happened?"
Arisato hesitantly replied "Nothing, he's just my new classmate and he felt a little..." "obnoxious, yeah he sometimes comes off a bit too strong but just give him a chance he's a really nice person."
They kept chatting a little while sewing costumes and ended up becoming friends
🎶
The clock struck signaling that the club activities were over and it was time to go home. Arisato picked up his things waved goodbye to Bebe and started walking away. On his way he saw Tamaki and what he presumed to be the members of the host club. He thought about approaching him remembering Bebe's words but at the end he decided not to and made his way home while listening to music.
Because he was an orphan he didn't have a home for himself, instead he lived in a dorm with other students. The students at Ouran Academy all belonged to rich families and known clans, so he had to live at a dorm without anyone form his school.
The dorm was also in Tokyo, not too far away but he still had to take the subway to get there. The students there mostly belonged to higashi high but he still hadn't met them.
Today was his first day at the dorm, someone had already transported his belongings there so he was quite carefree. Arisato just expected to not have weird people around him and to get along with the students there.
Just as he was about to open the door a voice chimes in " I'm going to go for a stroll see you later Kazumi-" the voice stopped as he realized he hit something "you just bumped the door into my forehead" Arisato quickly brought his hands at the bump while the stranger in front of him apologized.
"Sorry, you must be the new student come here I'll give you a an ice pack" Arisato made his way inside following the stranger's lead and began scanning the dorm.
It had a weird vibe to it, the floor was green with uncanny geometrical figures, on top of the the floor there was a red carpet runner leading to some stairs. There was also a lounge area with antique almost royalty like furniture and a small television.
In the area where the stranger had stormed off there was a giant table for dining and some kind of bar counter which led to a room, probably a kitchen. Just as his mind started wandering off the stranger came back with an ice pack.
"Hey I'm really sorry, just take it'll help with the swelling. I'm Arai btw." Arisato was momentary taken aback from the constant apologies " You have already apologized it's okey. I'm Arisato Minato, nice to meet you." Arai seemed pleased at his response "Likewise, when the swelling comes down I'll show you around the dorm."
"No need, we can go now"
At the end he started guiding him and even a friend of his joined, she was Kazumi a cheerful person with a little bit of backbone that Arai himself lacked. They were a nice duo to be around and the touring was quite nice as well.
He ended up knowing that the dorm had 4 floors: The first one, the lobby; The second one, where the boy's rooms were located; The third one; where the girls remained and the last one which had an exit door and a little garden.
He was also shown his room, it wasnt anything out of this world after coming back form Ouran. Nonetheless, it was comfortable and he even had a television and a mini fridge for himself even though the last one didn't work.
After inspecting the room he took off his uniform and went to bed.
