Work Text:

Jemma laid on the bed, her legs and arms pulled in the fetal position as she thought how to handle this. Both men were standing at the door of the bedroom, trying to figure out what to do for her. They’d only known her a day but she refused breakfast and wouldn’t leave the bedroom.

Finally, Robby looked at Jack, “You can’t be the mean dom, you gotta be kinder.”

Jack looked at him, “I can be fucking kind without being a pushover like you,” he assured his partner before following him into the room. Robby slipped on the bed in front of her, laying his arm over her, looking at her sadly for a moment. At that moment, Jack climbed in on her other side. He scooted until his chest and her back were flush. He began to coo sweet nothings in the softest of voices. Robby listened and was reassured Jack could be more gentle with her.

Jemma closed her eyes as she finally came to a conclusion. She suddenly sat up, her chest rising and falling quickly.

“Fuck him!” she finally announced, scooting off the bed. “He had the alert, he told my family, he’s gonna pay!” she assured them before biting her lip as she became weepy once more.

“He’s my person. My other half. My twin,” she said in the smallest of sad voices. Robby moved to the end of the bed and brought her close, opening his legs to pull her closer.

“We have 12 hours to be at the airport. We will make it Sugar because you have us now,” he remarked, his promises completely true.

“Can we cuddle and watch Doctor Who for a bit? It’s my comfort show,” she explained as Robby kissed the top of head.

“Who’s your favorite Doctor?” Jack asked and that had Jemma looking back at him.

“Jackie is a secret nerd. Loves sci-fi and fantasy and all that,” he explained as he hugged her closer.

“What about you?” she asked, caressing his cheek which he leaned into.

“Let me watch some sports once and a while and I’ll happily watch whatever makes you two happy,” Robby assured her.

Jack stood up, using his crutches, “Come on, you gotta decide on Classic vs New,” he explained, moving toward the living room.

“You have Classic??” she asked, mesmerized.

“Sugar, I got every DVD and blu-ray they have put out. Plus some they haven’t released,” he said before he had a handful of Jemma wrapped around him.

“Oh Jack, I love this!” she said before going to pull both of them onto the couch with her in the middle. “Okay, we have time for a few episodes. Let’s start Eccleston, get Michael used to NuWho before introducing Classic,” she stated the plan for introducing Robby to Doctor Who.

“I’ve tried to entice him to watch it Sugar,” Jack exclaimed before sitting back and crossing his arms.

Jemma leaned towards Robby, nibbling his ear before speaking so he could only hear.

“Let’s watch it!” he quickly agreed. Jemma could only giggle before pulling the blanket from behind them on the couch as she covered all three of them. Soon, she was laying her head in Robby’s lap, answering any questions he had. Jack was also helping but was enjoying just rubbing her legs that were in his lap.

They would figure it out….A little bit later.

Sherlock sat pensively with his eyes closed in his seat in the same row as his husband. John had grabbed a paper in the airport and was attempting the crossword, periodically getting corrected from one of the numerous geniuses surrounding him.

Quentin and James sat behind them with Quentin sitting on his phone with his earbuds in, still appearing angry at either the situation or having to fly commercial. James, on the other hand, had taken advantage of the eye mask and had fallen fast asleep.

Mycroft sat in the row across from his brother. He waited with no phone, no book, or anything.

The younger Holmes brother opened his eyes and took a deep breath. First he checked John’s crossword, “25 Across is not Cameron, John,” he said before turning to his brother, “Are you upset with her?” His brother looked up and shook his head.

“Though I am curious as to why she had to leave the hospital that morning. Even when meeting her soulmates, she’s on a mission…But upset? No, I’m so happy for her. We’ve always known she has two soulmates and they were likely American. It’s why she’s worked in the States so long.” Sherlock hmmed before offering his own thoughts,

“I think Quentin thought she’d either never meet them or find them in England. He’s terrified he’ll never see her again,” he surmised before looking at Mycroft, “He’s just pushing her away by acting like this I imagine.”
