Mornings in Okhema City, or the Eternal Holy City, were always described as peaceful. As the world’s dawn begins its awakening, thereby conquering its counterpart’s reign, flickers of light begin to shine from the horizon. The city’s denizens have reached the peak of respite, and so their lives may begin once again under the rising dawn.
A dim light pours through the shared chambers of two Chrysos Heirs. With limbs tangled like an impossible knot, the two share an embrace unlike anything they haven’t done before. This morning would be just like any other day.
Hyacinthia’s eyelids flickered open, as if sensing the increasingly bright presence of the world. Had she been alone she would’ve promptly risen as if she were in sync with the sun. But no, such an action wasn’t possible with her current situation.
On top of her small figure lay a taller and curvier woman who she knew as her lover, the Phantom Kitty Thief herself, Cipher (or as she liked to call Cifera in private). With her sleeping weight on top of her, Hyacinthia was bound to her position of previous slumber. From her fixed vision came the sight of Cifera’s figure being bathed in the early day’s light. Oh, how peaceful it was here. Her arms wrapped wholeheartedly around her lover, their legs locked together in a tight tangle, and their hands stuck in between each other’s fingers. What she’d do to keep this moment locked in time, leaving them in this tight embrace.
But a healer’s duties would never allow such a wonderful notion. Although the endless cycles of Amphoreus and the formation of another Era Nova has become an issue of the past, people always find a way to keep Hyacine’s medical skills to the top of the career chain. There’s always a patient available for attention, and as much as Hyacinthia loved her job, she could always do with some time for her beloved.
A soft, low purring was mindlessly repeating in her right ear, a result of Cifera’s still slumber. Hyacinthia could feel a low rumbling coming from the chest on top of her. The sensation had made for an easy guide to slumber the night before, but now it was a reminder that this moment was to be unraveled for both of their duties.
Although such a truth caused a light tug at Hyacinthia’s heartstrings, she couldn’t help but smile at how much she wished to cherish this moment. A light kiss to Cifera’s cheek was all it took for her heart to quickly mend itself. Her hands roamed towards the top of the cat-hybrid’s head, lightly stroking the messy gray hair that resided at the top along with her perky feline ears. Despite its presently ragged look, the fur was deceptively soft and smooth under her touch.
For when could there be a more perfect opportunity to cherish her lover than now, where time would inevitably catch up to them? Once again the healer grew a greater understanding of her lover’s love for the thrill of action. There was a certain charm to acting without restraint because of the confines of time, especially now.
Hyacinthia’s quiet efforts of affection were soon made aware of by Cifera, whose ears began to flick against the gentle hands that she grew to become familiar with. A low yawn escaped the hybrid’s mouth as she turned her head to the side, burying it into the pillow behind Hyacinthia’s own head. The pink-haired woman could only watch in adoration as her lover tried to settle back into dreamland again.
Unfortunately for Cifera, the slight mumble of her name was enough to grasp her back into reality.
“Cifera..” Hyacinthia’s voice came out in a low, almost whisperish voice. The aforementioned individual only groaned as she came to realize the time of day it was. No more was the comforting warmth of her lover going to accompany her to sleep.
“Waking up early as always, healer?” Cifera, despite having just woken up, was already beginning her antics of sarcasm with her tone.
Hyacinthia only chuckles as she’s grown used to her nature. Some part of that witty, yet thoughtful character that her lover put up was a reason for her strong feelings of admiration toward her. To her, how could anyone resist the antics of such an intriguing individual? It didn’t help that she had her moments of adorableness as well, of which only she could see.
“Well, I can’t stop myself from waking up, y’know? Besides, it helps that I get to see your cute face every time I open my eyes.” Hyacinthia couldn’t help but press a small boop to Cifera’s nose as she spoke. It was always a pleasure to pick and prod at her when she had the chance. Sometimes the reactions she got were especially sweet, making her day feel a little less heavy.
Cifera’s face grew a bit red at her words, why did it seem like they came out so easily? It wasn’t until Hyacinthia began to try and squirm her way from under her that she realized the time. Oh, couldn’t she just stay here a little longer? They’ve been together to the point where surely some liberties could be taken. Like, for example, staying in bed for a little longer.
Cifera’s hands which were previously resting around Hyacinthia’s waist suddenly tightened and a meek squeal left the pink-haired girl as she was settled onto her side, where she saw more than just her lover’s face.
“Do you reaally have to get up this early? The damned sun has barely gone up! Isn’t sleep, like, one of the most important parts of living or something?” Cifera was practically shoving Hyacinthia’s face into her chest, perhaps adding onto her attempt to coax her girlfriend into staying in bed.
Hyacinthia, all too familiar with the feline woman’s behavior, found herself a bit weak in her resistance to the demands of her beloved. Truthfully, no matter how much she tried to go against her words, she knew that she’d like nothing more than to stay in the confines of Cifera’s comfort. She couldn’t completely give in to her, that was a guarantee, but she could settle to an extent.
“Alright, alright…it can’t be too much to stay a little longer.” She felt her lips tug into a smile as she noticed how Cifera’s eyes lit up just a bit.
“But we can’t stay here forever. Breakfast isn’t going to be cooked out of thin air y’know?”
Once again Hyacinthia took another opportunity to give a small boop to the other woman’s nose. The small effort was going to become a habit at this rate.
Cifera, knowing that she had won in the end, let her lips slowly press against Hyacinthia’s forehead. Her plan had inevitably worked and her efforts were met with a sizable reward. Time may have sworn to make itself her mortal enemy, but this moment was a chance to keep her treasures to her chest, where she could cherish them to the fullest. Her tail was absentmindedly swishing itself in a constant motion, a sign of the pleasure she took from the situation.
Both of the women’s eyes closed as they let themselves settle into respite again. Although the sun’s once dim light was going to shine upon them in an even greater form, it still wouldn’t stop them from keeping their adoration for each other left unattended for.
