Chapter Text
As the rapture beam struck me, the world seemed to freeze. I saw Rapi’s drill punch through the Driver a second too late, the damage done. My team turned to me, and my heart sank at their expressions.
The shocked face of Neon.
The scream of Rapi.
Anis’s crying face.
Those were the last moments I saw before the world became a blur. Tears, blood, and gore consumed my vision. My ears were tinning. I vaguely felt that I was being lifted by what remained of my arms. I blearily saw my lower half lying on the ground as I was carried by Rapi, the heat of her speeding drill intensifying the blur.
I closed my eyes, and I prayed.
I prayed for the Ark, for the nikkes within.
I prayed that they could cope with my death, that my friends and lovers could all deal with my death and not fall into despair.
Anne, Belorta, and Mica would lose their only father figure worth a damn.
The underworld queens would probably take out their grief on the people of the rim, except maybe Moran.
Yuhla, Brid, and the rest of the bar-goers would get worse.
The students of School Circle would miss me, as infrequent of a guest as I was, and Marcina would be a mess.
Absolute would be a wreck.
Matis would stop being lovable dumbasses.
The pilgrims would… be less affected, but it would still hurt. The Outpost would no longer be a safe harbor.
Oh god the outpost…
Best case scenario, Anderson assigns one of the few non-nikkephobic commander to take over. Worst case, some nikkephobe takes over and ruins the almost 4 year old sanctuary.
Oh God… what would happen to the Counters!
Rapi… she could rejoin Absolute. Her and Eunhwa made up, right?
Anis… she could go back to being a pop star. Sure, it would be a waste of the Star armament, but she could still go back and reform T.T Star. Be the beacon of hope the Ark needs after I’m gone.
Neon... Oh no. She has nowhere to go. Nowhere.
Marian… Nononono. She’s still hanging on by a thread in Eden. She will never see me again.
Everyone’s fates flashed by me, a cruel vision of what could be. Yet one stood out above the rest.
My child.
Rosse…
